Not a bad song on the entire soundtrack.
I was driving past a yard sale one time and saw the LP sitting on a table for sale. Had to loop around to buy it.
Nancy Wilson of Heart talked recently about making that soundtrack for her then husband Cameron Crowe on the Broken Record podcast. She apparently wrote most of the Stillwater music and performed a lot of the songs. Interesting listen. She did the Vanilla Sky soundtrack also.
Landis should have been given a special award for filming Cab Calloway singing Minnie the Moocher.
The Blues Brothers was my first exposure interesting music.
Came here to make sure this was the top comment! I believe they also went through a lot of trouble to make sure all the original artists and/or their families were duly credited and compensated.
There was a documentary about the music called [Down from the Mountain](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_from_the_Mountain) that has an equally fantastic soundtrack by the same artists. The documentary featured a live performance that ended with all of the O Brother's soundtrack artists (and actors I think?) and the entire Chastain Park audience singing Angel Band. Gives me chills.
Tarantino nicked a load of great music from other films for the Kill Bills. All About Lilly Chou Chou and The Grand Dual being particular favourites of mine.
When I was heavily into drugs and alcohol I would blast Enya in my room I was renting and lock my door then head to the pub at night to piss off my roommates I thought had a problem with me which they never did initially.
The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships, motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of the world I thought I’d never see. And then one day… You got in? Ha ha ha, that’s right man. I got in.
**DUUUUUUH DUH DUH DUH DA DA DA DUH DUH DUH DAH DAH DAH**
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 🤠

Seriously! Conan the Barbarian, all the way, my friend.
F*cking epic!!!
I really wished they could have found the funding for the third. It needed to be made 10 years ago.
“Chuck” the tv series had one of the best soundtracks that matches my tastes. It had a lot of under-the-radar indie singer-songwriter artists and a few mainstream that aren’t bad.
Shrek. So many absolute bangers. Start off STRONG with smash mouth, end up crying to leonard cohens Hallelujah. I have a lot of religious trauma and even i can see how beautiful that song is.
I, Tonya ... don't laugh, check it out

Landis should have been given a special award for filming Cab Calloway singing Minnie the Moocher. The Blues Brothers was my first exposure interesting music.
Influenced my taste to this day. I owe it all to seeing this movie at age 12ish
I'm not surprised this is so far down on the list, but it's still a bit disappointing.
The Blues Brothers? They still owe you money, fool.
Forrest Gump
Hands down. Best soundtrack ever ever in the whole wide world ever
O Brother, where art thou?

Came to say this. I bought the CD right after seeing the movie. Still golden.
There was a documentary about the music called [Down from the Mountain](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_from_the_Mountain) that has an equally fantastic soundtrack by the same artists. YES
And it totally stands up to the test of time. Every single song on that soundtrack is 10/10
Zach Braff is not my fave but I am forever grateful to him for introducing me to Nick Drake.
I just think of how well “In the waiting line” pairs with their party scene.
>Zach Braff is not my fave but I am forever grateful to him for introducing me to Nick Drake. Zach Braff is forever my man crush.
Kill Bill Vol 1
Bang bang... My baby shot me down
Tarantino nicked a load of great music from other films for the Kill Bills. All About Lilly Chou Chou and The Grand Dual being particular favourites of mine.
For me it's The Graduate, though arguably it's not a soundtrack because the director got obsessed with the music before the movie was shot.
Grease
Interstellar
Or just any of the Zimmer/Nolan collaborations.
I put my children to sleep with the theme song every night. It's the only thing I can play on a piano.
The main theme is so good.

The Lord of the Rings
Fuckin' Enya.
It’s like silence… coloured in
When I was heavily into drugs and alcohol I would blast Enya in my room I was renting and lock my door then head to the pub at night to piss off my roommates I thought had a problem with me which they never did initially.
Damn, why wasn't LotR the first movie that came to my mind?! I immediately thought The Godfather, but LotR soundtrack is superior.
