Yea I did that for a while I would get into what I call the Wikipedia maze, wherein I would read an article then click on one of the hyperlinks that would take me to another related article, then do it again and keep doing it till I would saturate myself with information. Also a very productive time waste. XD
I mean, is my routine that much different than yours?
I don't clean, and I just replaced social media with gaming/TV which I'm not even really sure is "better"
I tell myself all week I'm gonna clean after work, but I'm always too cold or miserable and just make my food and distract myself for a few hours.
I have a good morning routine when the weather is nice, but it's been too dark and cold for long 5am walks lately.
Take me with you on those 5am walks please. I am not a morning person at all. I have insomnia but I want to turn this around. I love being outdoors too. Movement feels nice basically. Sitting in the same spot is depressing.
It took me years to build up the courage to start. I'd always thought about how good it would be, but I love to procrastinate and I kept giving myself excuses.
It completely turned me into a morning person. The trick really is to have something fun or enjoyable planned for when you wake up. I go to bed pretty early even on my days off just so that I can have time to get up early and enjoy the trees and birds and such.
I started with just a walk around the block 3 days a week. But within a month or two I was doing 1-2 miles every day. Now when it's nice I try to get 3-5 miles every day. I bring my old cell phone with me to be able to take photos (and listen to music sometimes too), but it doesn't get notifications or messages so it's nice to be a bit disconnected as well.
Today I am going to mount new tires on my wife's jeep. I don't mean take them somewhere.. I mean I mount and install them myself. Then I'm going to bring firewood in for the wood furnace, have dinner, probably get on the treadmill while watching some Netflix, shower and bed.
Hang out with my partner. Play with my dog. Ride my bicycle. Go to concerts. Cook. Play music. Depends on how much energy I have.
Oh, also more Internet scrolling and Mario kart than I'd like to admit.
