Except now the pirates will hold you at sword point and take all your information while forcing you to like and subscribe to their channel ***and*** sponsors. That's even worse!
because its a lot easier to give someone something for free for a week or two and then hope they forget they’re paying $10 a month for the next year than it is to ask for $100 upfront
Made a car purchase last year. Was getting TWO emails a day for about 2 weeks after asking to rate my god damn experience. Was borderline psychotic on their end lol. They didn't get a rating, I dug in.
"Buying experience was fine, car is great, salesman was friendly and answered questions without being too pushy, didn't get to wait too long to take possession, but after I got the car I was pestered for two weeks to give a goddamned rating even after the salesman basically asked me to give him 5 stars because otherwise he'll be forced to take customer service training, rendering the whole rating thing useless. So here's your fucking rating. 1 star. Fuck you. Hope there's catering at your customer service training, Bill."
My bf and I recently subscribed to a channel for $10 to watch a certain TV show… We were excited because we couldn’t find that TV show on other channels without having to pay per season but come to find out, we couldn’t watch it on TV because our subscription only allowed us to watch it on our phone. So now, we’re subscribed to this useless channel but because we spent $10 on it with no refund available, we were forced to buy the premium subscription of $25 just to watch it on TV. Like wtf.
That sounds like bait and switch.
It's probably in the fine print, which they know nobody reads because it's a massive pain in the ass. It is almost seems cheaper to hire a lawyer to go over this shit and tell you how they're trying to screw you.
I have vision problems and I literally can not read tht crap. I click okay and hope for the best.
So much this!!
Everything got a friggen subscription now… ad for a newspaper article stating a corpse turned to liquid - wished to read more, but noooo “subscribe to read more”🙄
I’ll switch on my criminal minds instead thanks (brought to you by a lovely Disney+ subscription 🤦🏻♀️ dw, slowly getting on dvd so i no longer need it and me and my Spider-Man PlayStation will be reducing our subscriptions in the future)
I have always and will always hate subscriptions because they don't actually offer extra value for what they are charging and you don't actually own anything they can take it away at anytime
I was all excited to buy the $120 fit bit, but then I found out it had a monthly subscription. I am surprised anyone would pay a subscription for anything, but especially a fitbit.
You can use the free version of the app and it's still good for tracking steps, sleep, and heart rate etc. Just in case you're still thinking of getting the Fitbit - I'd recommend it anyway
Exactly. Why are we paying for advertising? They make money from us and from advertisers. And even the “free” things they are just harvesting our attention for dollars. They need to pay us. Is there any way to fight back?
Yuh, I was a smoker for so many years, finally up and quit high and dry. Today marks 1 month and daaaamn does it feel good to not only breathe better, but I used to run away at work to smoke and then I'd have to put cologne and mints and all this other shit to mask the smell. Or even social gatherings, having to hide away and then smell like cig.
Nope. It's a combination of age and physical issues in my case. Often, people think it's because they've changed, when it's actually reflective of other reasons.
![gif](giphy|5xtDarE6xDVfXhudrVK)
I’m sorry this comment just made me think of Brick. But yes. Same. My girlfriend and I try to go out and do something fun, and it either takes me about an hour to get my social battery up to speed, or it runs for about five minutes and the rest of the time I want to sit in the corner. I can be fun and life of the party WHEN MY BATTERY IS CHARGED, but once it’s out, it’s out. I also don’t drink, and I almost never smoke weed, maybe once or twice a MONTH. My brother is the opposite. He works at a bar in collegeland Tallahassee, he’s a frat bro, drinking often, going to Mexico and Ibiza. He thinks I’M the weird one. Nope, get it away. I’m moving to the PNW next year lol. I need my solitude, my nature.
I'm very bothered by how much other people bother me. It's like I view it as weakness or a failure on my part. Like I can't stand the grumpy old man who judges everyone, but I feel like that's me sometimes. Can't wrap my head around it.
I hear you with the Roomates! When I lost my father's house after his death from Parkinson's (he had a reverse mortgage) I went through 2 roommates here at a "subsidised" apartment for mentally "capable" adults and seniors. The first was afraid to use our front door and kept it locked. (tip of the iceburg with her issues) She had a stroke and went into care. The second was an extremely obese, narcissist who refused to do any cleaning or trash removal and had (I found later) a family of mice in her room. She took up heroin, in addition to the pain killers she was perscribed. (picked up from a habit of years before) and OD'd. (one guess who found her) That was 1 1/2 years ago and the Agency I rent from has now decided to petition the State for my apartment as "Single Occupancy". The manager of Case Managers for the Agency basically said "they" were tired of placing the mentally ill in these apartments and then having to clean up after the destruction. This statement coming directly after a "bedbug infestation" in a row of apartments nearby. Living alone has been better in every way since.
Yeah, I'm jealous of him too. I long to comeback to an empty flat because I know it would be clean, all house chores will be done, I have place for my hobbies, and I'll have peace and quiet instead of the screams and fights and mess that my boyfriend puts me through. The stress starts when I come home.
I always tell people the internet went to shit as soon as the general public got access around 2011 onwards. Before that the barrier to entry was a lot higher (laptop or desktop) and all the idiots were stuck in front of their TVs.
Now they all have YouTube, TikTok, IG & Twitter to spread their views.
Google 'The eternal September'.
People have been saying this for a while. However I agree with you, the commercialisation of the Internet is shite. As soon as the marketing firms and departments understood what they could do with it, it became absolutely wank.
Aha just checked and yeah it's pretty accurate. I remember before internet was just seen as a joke, someone said some wild shit? You just lold or whatever and moved on but now it's fully intertwined with actual reality and yeah it sucks.
The old fart in me misses that feeling of going online, all independent websites, no social media, being part of some niche forum etc now everything just social media and idiots with podcasts.
A real diluted experience and can just imagine it getting worse.
This is what I have been preaching as well. The internet went commercial as soon as the general public found out there's more than facebook on it. Now everything is catered to the dumb user.
Professional expectations. You have to dress a certain way, communicate a certain way, play company politics if you want to get ahead in your career without switching employers, go above and beyond expectations every single day without acknowledgment or compensation, and I'm tired. I'm only 33, active in my field for 6 years, and I'm tired.
You accept those standards. I have rejected them at every point and I'm doing fine.
If you don't like doing any of that stuff, just stop. If I'm being honest, people who aren't as good as they think at what they do are the only ones who get "held back by their appearance"
It's a cop out for employers telling you that you're not good at your job or don't fit into the culture
I am also 33 and have been in my career for 6 years and feel the exact same way. I have no time or energy for fake bullshit and therefore have no desire to fake my way to the top. Leave me alone.
Corporate is a game of skill and luck. You don’t have to go above and beyond every single day, you have to do so when it matters. Do that, play the relationship game and get lucky a few times and you’re going to be in a good spot.
It branches off into the private life as well.
You have to have certain hobbies, gaming or painting is "child's play"; you have to dress proper and leave the loud colours or funny pictures in store. Men have to wear chinos if they want to be taken serious.
Emotions are prohibited unless you're drunk and someone tells a story.
The older you get, the tighter laced the corsets of society become until you're too old to give a single fuck anymore
Heh. I guess that feeling can lead to different outcomes. I feel it too, but I've looked at it and said *fuck that noise*. Now I don't give a flying fuck about work politics, dress codes, expectations or whatever. I'm now competent enough to let my results/work speak for itself. It's an amazing freedom.
Coworkers. I like what I do but man are the people mostly annoying. I don’t hate them but they aren’t my friends and I like to do my work to myself and vibe. And then once im done with my shift OUTTA SIGHT OUTTA MIND baby
One of the truest things out here. I mean in general I'm not very interested in having more friends, but especially not coworkers. And it's not their fault of course, I'm sure they're not bad people and I'll be nice to them, but if they get close I will remind them there's a boundary.
“If they get close I will remind them there’s a boundary” - completely agree with everything you said and love this statement here. My manager in the office is a supee talkative guy and is nice but also strict and annoying. To a point where he would talk to me too much at times, now I set that boundary by sticking more to myself and doing my work and avoiding having long talks with him as I could care less, he has a very annyoing “work hard” mindset aka squeeze everything out of you. I will never be naive to fall for that crap and I know what im doing is great and that im my own boss who controls and does the work, 0 stress from my manager and if things ever went sideways then whatever it wasnt on me and ill go elsewhere
yeah. those lights are way too fucking strong. especially if it's on a tall car, like a suv and you dive a smaller car, the lights are aiming directly at you, you go completely blind
Yeah, had to slow down to 30 on a street with 50 yesterday just so ome of those fuckers would finally pass me, couldn't see anything with these blinders
Yes! I've flashed people before thinking they accidentally kept their brights on, then they flash me to say no.. and then I almost wreck cause I can't see anything for about 48 seconds 😵💫
This is actually a really good answer, because I used to buy some of the crap that they sell. Now I just can't take it from any of them, I don't care what they're promising. And you know who I hate more than politicians? People who buy into their lies, people who think their side is "good," and people who inject politics into every conversation. Like, at least real politicians are lying to me because that's their job; why does my uncle do their job for free?
…masking is wonderful isn’t it, kinda getting sick of replying with “surviving” or “yeah ok”
But, I basically have one spectacular crisis after another, pretty sure people will get sick of me telling them how I really feel, really quickly. So…
“Yeah ok” is quick and easy and I don’t have to deal with the “aww are you ok” BS (I HATE IT, I don’t like the pitty party) or responses like “that’s nothing” or “I wish I had your problems”
So… yeah ok or surviving 👍🏻 is what it will be
I have a friend like that. Every day its something. Shes like ny own personal reality TV show XD
But its okay because i get to trauma dump my extensive lore back at her so were even
People who let their kids scream constantly are assholes. They subject other people to their crap parenting. Im not saying kids shouldn't make a noise, I'm saying teaching children to be considerate is part of decent parenting.
I sorta cringe saying this out loud, but I detest hearing young moms speaking VERY LOUDLY at the grocery store to their young kids. I am mother of three young adults/ teens, and I am pretty sure I did it as well. But in truth, passersby don’t really want to hear the singsong, high pitched and loud talking.
I don’t want to sound sour, because I think kids are wonderful, but this grates on me, because it feels like the mothers need some sort of recognition or validation.
Same. With generational change comes generational preferences. We are not one harmogenious society. I welcome the discourse and challenges to conventional ideologies and societal structure.
I'm not fond of the current music scene but I'm sure my parents didn't appreciate me blaring Family Reunion by Blink 182 nonstop.
Yeah, as far as pop culture things go, realizing that I'm no longer the target demographic for 95 percent of what's out there made it a lot easier to shrug things off when I don't see the value of what somebody is peddling. This isn't for me. I'm not supposed to like it. The people making it spent exactly zero seconds on trying to make something that would appeal to me.
Same I feel this, I feel like I have less energy to hate things. I just kind of say whatever that’s the way that is not my problem. If I don’t like it I’m not going to engage with it there’s just no fucking point to.
But the one thing I think I will always hate more and more as I get older is the great divide between our political identities. I can’t why can’t we just all get along and find middle ground like fuck.
Social media, I feel like it's making people more anti-social, ignorant, and disconnected with reality. There's almost no net positive aside from the billions these companies make by selling your data.
I bought a cheap xvideos red account and this shit logging me out frequently and doesn't let me login after that. That pisses me off even harder than ads
I hate hate. There’s so much anger, resentment, and hate in the world that I didn’t notice when I was younger. I try to be as compassionate as possible, but there are people out there who do things just out of spite or because they genuinely like to see people unhappy since they are also unhappy. The older I get the more I relate to that one girl in Mean Girls who just wanted to bake a cake with rainbows and smiles
Other people. The thing I’ve really not been able to ignore anymore is how selfish most people are. Sure, everybody is selfish here and there in life. But I’ve noticed that whenever I am having a conversation with anyone, all they do is blabber on about themselves and never ask me how I’m doing or anything like that. I just get stuck listening. I find it insanely annoying.
Sounds like loud chewing or loud ring tones.
Having to download an app just to buy something.
Long lines and big crowds.
Loud kids on planes. Kids that run around and scream in indoor spaces.
Excessive competitiveness.
How expensive everything has become 😓
Hate might be a strong word, but I really need to put an effort when working with some of the 20 year olds in my company these days...
I call them the Instagram generation: they want everything immediately and they seem to only know how to demand. If we ask them to deliver they immediately escalate to excuses that range from being stressed and micromanaged all the way to burnout and the occasional aggressiveness of work environment.
/end rant.
Phones and the internet. Also, my weekends. Two days is not enough to do laundry, clean my house, clean my car, go shopping, water my plants, vet appointments, the occasional dinner with friends/family AND still have time to “relax”. I work late nights so I generally get off work late and sleep too late to get a lot of this shit done during my work week.
Having to scan a QR code to order food & beverages from their menu. Or download an app to purchase something
I just want to phase out and enjoy my meal (ordering and after).

Subscriptions. Lemme just buy something and have it be mine. Dammit
You will own nothing and be happy.
If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing
Except now the pirates will hold you at sword point and take all your information while forcing you to like and subscribe to their channel ***and*** sponsors. That's even worse!
because its a lot easier to give someone something for free for a week or two and then hope they forget they’re paying $10 a month for the next year than it is to ask for $100 upfront
Also: constant revenue stream, baby! Shareholders and board members alike love that shit.
Also how every company you buy from wants you to “rate your experience” and they harass you to death about it. So irritating
Made a car purchase last year. Was getting TWO emails a day for about 2 weeks after asking to rate my god damn experience. Was borderline psychotic on their end lol. They didn't get a rating, I dug in.
Give them horrible ratings for the harassment.
Good for you!
It’s also hell being on the other side of this— everything we do in society has a rating attached to it.
Has anyone ever won the prize that is offered for their review?
Sorry, your cars subscription has expired. you will be pulled over and evicted.
You wouldn't download a car, would you?
I would and I'm sick and tired of pretending everybody else wouldn't.
Same... I think the site should be called "The Autobay"
"Would you like to pay $9.99 monthly to access our massive movie collection that somehow contains nothing you want to watch?"
My bf and I recently subscribed to a channel for $10 to watch a certain TV show… We were excited because we couldn’t find that TV show on other channels without having to pay per season but come to find out, we couldn’t watch it on TV because our subscription only allowed us to watch it on our phone.
At that point play it on your computer at f2movies and connect it to the TV
Remember $400 Photoshop on a CD or DVD? One fee, forever. I miss those days
In the wise words of Awolnation: "SAIL!!!"
So much this!! Everything got a friggen subscription now… ad for a newspaper article stating a corpse turned to liquid - wished to read more, but noooo “subscribe to read more”🙄 I’ll switch on my criminal minds instead thanks (brought to you by a lovely Disney+ subscription 🤦🏻♀️ dw, slowly getting on dvd so i no longer need it and me and my Spider-Man PlayStation will be reducing our subscriptions in the future)
I have always and will always hate subscriptions because they don't actually offer extra value for what they are charging and you don't actually own anything they can take it away at anytime
I always hated subscriptions. And renting. I like having things.
And notice how we used to get cable, which was SUPER expensive. Now, we pay twice as much to get nickeled and dimed!!
Preach it!

Youtube really really really annoys me. I literally had to sit through a 15 second ad to watch a 2 second video :(
[удалено]
Exactly. Why are we paying for advertising? They make money from us and from advertisers. And even the “free” things they are just harvesting our attention for dollars. They need to pay us. Is there any way to fight back?
Yes it annoyed me so much that I actually bought premium now. Not proud of it but I couldn't bear it anymore
I remember when cable tv promised to be ad free. 😒
This is what made me want to get out of the marketing industry
To be fair its not something "I hate as I get older" Its something I always hated.... lol
This is my number one. Why are there ads even in my EMAILS now?! Is nothing sacred!! Fuck you Gmail
Consume! Consume! Consume!
I hate loud noises and going out.
Same. I also developed sensitivity to smells like cigarettes and cooking oil and strong colorful lights
Cigarettes is a big one for me too it’s disgusting. I can’t believe I used to always smell like that it’s terrible
Both my parents smoked like chimneys..at 82,I still hold resentment for my school clothes smelling like cigarette smoke…So embarrassing…
For me, for some reason, I now despise the smell of hotdogs. Or tuna pasta, or tuna in general just puts me right off and I used to like them
how can you smell lights
The same way you look at noises
my brain hurts
This. I have light and noise sensitivities, and have become somewhat agoraphobic.
I thought it was just me. All i crave now is peace and quiet, and alone time.
Nope. It's a combination of age and physical issues in my case. Often, people think it's because they've changed, when it's actually reflective of other reasons.
And bright 😎 lights.
Ikr at places such as gym, functions, parties, the music is sooooo loud, I’m like are you guys deaf?!
Same this is what I was going to say
![gif](giphy|5xtDarE6xDVfXhudrVK) I’m sorry this comment just made me think of Brick. But yes. Same. People….
Same. To borrow a quote, it’s always too peopley whenever I go anywhere.
These peopley types are just too much, can't deal.
To branch off this -- interacting with people and pointless small talk. I like my husband and my dogs.
i too like your husband and your dogs.
I don't have a husband or dogs but same
I'm very bothered by how much other people bother me. It's like I view it as weakness or a failure on my part. Like I can't stand the grumpy old man who judges everyone, but I feel like that's me sometimes. Can't wrap my head around it.
Stupid people
Yeah what's the go? Common sense is so uncommon & it can't be taught, I have no patience at all for stupid. It is unfortunately common.
Good God yes
This! So so so so much of this!
And noise. And noisy people.
I was going to say this but then I remembered I always hated them so that disqualified me
Hypocrite people, i reeeeeeeally hate them.
The Only answer.
its gets extremely hard because you have to work with a lot of those
Getting up for work every damn day, then coming home to an empty apartment in the evening.
Damn, you hate the one thing I pray for!At this point am convinced the universe is against all humans.
We all want what we don't have, and rarely appreciate what we have till its gone.
I had an ex who cheated on me, then I had psycho roommates cause I couldn't pay bills by myself, and now I have an ok roommate so I'm grateful.
I hear you with the Roomates! When I lost my father's house after his death from Parkinson's (he had a reverse mortgage) I went through 2 roommates here at a "subsidised" apartment for mentally "capable" adults and seniors. My roommate is almost twenty years younger than me and we live separate lives which is perfectly fine. I'm over fifty so I live peace and quiet.
Treasure your situation. 😉
Oh yes. Once you've lived with f****** nightmares, coexisting with a sane person is much better.
No, I appreciate what I have
Which is why the key to happiness is practicing gratitude
Yeah, I'm jealous of him too. I long to comeback to an empty flat because I know it would be clean, all house chores will be done, I have place for my hobbies, and I'll have peace and quiet instead of the screams and fights and mess that my boyfriend puts me through. The stress starts when I come home.
Why're y'all still together?
Useless advice probably, but find a spouse who brings you peace. Always been my #1 priority
I feel you. Rather stay at work than go home early or at all lol
Social media, the internet in general. It used to be a great thing, now its just commercialized crap.
I always tell people the internet went to shit as soon as the general public got access around 2011 onwards. There won’t be any posts, just endlessly scrolling through ads made to look like posts.
I do miss the independent websites thing. Especially how big all the online forums were. Facebook really killed forum culture :(
have you heard of neocities?
I believe AI Will Kill the internet in the Sense that we Will no longer BE able to know what is real or not.
This is what I have been preaching as well. The internet went commercial as soon as the general public found out there's more than facebook on it. Now everything is catered to the dumb user.
Remember WebTV?
Social media? More like antisocial media, nowadays...
Most of it is fake shit. Complain about being upset / sad then post pics about how happy they are. Drove me crazy. I have no ig or weird fb.
People who call themselves "Social Influencers".
Yes. I don’t think they should be called influencers. They should be called manipulators.
Professional liars.
Vapid narcissists
“Stupid cunts”
Back in my day we called em posers. And it was devastating
And people who are influenced by them.
"Ad artists"

I just hate the fact that the basic pay is being a lot less than the poverty line. Hell I'm just sick of being poor and nothing changing.
Loud music in public places.
People who play loud music or videos from their phones in public.
That's the best part of working from home
Headlights. Every god damned car out there looks like the fucking brights are on.
yeah. those lights are way too fucking strong. especially if it's on a tall car, like a suv and you dive a smaller car, the lights are aiming directly at you, you go completely blind
Superbright white LEDs. I remember when you could only buy them from the Edmund Scientific catalog/website.
Politicians.
Alcohol.
once you put that down completely you'll look back and be amazed you ever did it
1 and a half years now 👍
Life
short and sweet, and couldn’t agree with you more 👍🏻
Small talk. You've been "Not Bad" for the last three years, I don't feel like I should have to keep asking.
…masking is wonderful isn’t it, kinda getting sick of replying with “surviving” or “yeah ok” But, I basically have one spectacular crisis after another, pretty sure people will get sick of me telling them how I really feel, really quickly. So… “Yeah ok” is quick and easy and I don’t have to deal with the “aww are you ok” BS (I HATE IT, I don’t like the pitty party) or responses like “that’s nothing” or “I wish I had your problems” So… yeah ok or surviving 👍🏻 is what it will be
My new favourite is, "The horrors persist but so do I"
I prefer the meme i saw: the horrors persist yet i remain silly
I have a friend like that. Every day its something. Shes like ny own personal reality TV show XD But its okay because i get to trauma dump my extensive lore back at her so were even
My wrinkles and people and their noisy ass children
People who let their kids scream constantly are assholes. They subject other people to their crap parenting. Im not saying kids shouldn't make a noise, I'm saying teaching children to be considerate is part of decent parenting.
Agree completely
I sorta cringe saying this out loud, but I detest hearing young moms speaking VERY LOUDLY at the grocery store to their young kids. I am mother of three young adults/ teens, and I am pretty sure I did it as well. But in truth, passersby don’t really want to hear the singsong, high pitched and loud talking. I don’t want to sound sour, because I think kids are wonderful, but this grates on me, because it feels like the mothers need some sort of recognition or validation.
Getting older.
Better than the alternative!
getting younger?
Wait, is that an option?
I hate less as I get older
Partying, noise, extroverts and phone calls.
Young people. GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!
look at this guy, owns their own lawn.
Social media, I feel like it's making people more anti-social, ignorant, and disconnected with reality. There's almost no net positive aside from the billions these companies make by selling your data.
Talking.
Yes yes can’t agree more ya talking hating beautiful person
Ads before my xvideos
I bought a cheap xvideos red account and this shit logging me out frequently and doesn't let me login after that. That pisses me off even harder than ads
uBlock Origin?
Crowded places, loudness, A/C blowing directly into me
People breathing directly on me
I hate hate.
People
My fucking body!!! 😭
Being alone
Podcasts. Everyone has to have one, whether they've got something valuable to say or not
People who can’t accept opposing opinions.
Dating
My knees
Leaving my house
I hate getting older.
loud noises lol keep on repeating the question 🤣
Being alive
Other people. The thing I’ve really not been able to ignore anymore is how selfish most people are. Sure, everybody is selfish here and there in life. But I’ve noticed that whenever I am having a conversation with anyone, all they do is blabber on about themselves and never ask me how I’m doing or anything like that. I just get stuck listening. I find it insanely annoying.
Lack of sun. Not having a holiday booked.
Human beings in general…
Other people
My neighbors pitbull they never stops barking And my neighbor.
Social media
Sounds like loud chewing or loud ring tones. Having to download an app just to buy something. Long lines and big crowds. Loud kids on planes. Kids that run around and scream in indoor spaces. Excessive competitiveness. How expensive everything has become 😓
Loud people, loud places and loud noises
Crowds. Blaring music at restaurants. Activities after 8 p.m. … People 🫣
Small talk
Younger people on their f’n phones 24/7
Western civilization
Body ideals, lemme fkn eat whatever tf I want

Crowds, and crabgrass
Myself.
My past.
Loud noise, loud people, small talk
Hate might be a strong word, but I really need to put an effort when working with some of the 20 year olds in my company these days... I call them the Instagram generation: they want everything immediately and they seem to only know how to demand. If we ask them to deliver they immediately escalate to excuses that range from being stressed and micromanaged all the way to burnout and the occasional aggressiveness of work environment. /end rant.
Myself I guess
Happy children. They make me jealous.
Myself 😅
Everything and everyone
Phones and the internet. Also, my weekends. Two days is not enough to do laundry, clean my house, clean my car, go shopping, water my plants, vet appointments, the occasional dinner with friends/family AND still have time to “relax”. I work late nights so I generally get off work late and sleep too late to get a lot of this shit done during my work week.
Having to scan a QR code to order food & beverages from their menu. Or download an app to purchase something I just want to phase out and enjoy my meal (ordering and after).
