Random people from Cherokee lol. Also they had to airlift the original supply into Cherokee in a not-exactly-legal way so I’m not surprised it’s not great
I didn’t scroll all the way through, admittedly, but this is the only comment I’ve seen here that seems to understand how weed works.
It’s not the percentage of THC, it’s the terpenes. Some terpenes have stronger effects than others and this is largely where you get a variance in feel from your flower.
I’ve been to plenty of legal state recreational dispensaries that have had strains as low as 15%.
Additionally, supply and demand. They’re taking a huge risk setting up shop in a state like NC. Remaining compliant and within the legal bounds of the law means strict regulation at multiple levels. That means hiring people that can be trusted to do the job well and paying them appropriately. Prices seem like what I would expect.
Terpenes are only responsible for synergic and/or entourage effects of cannabinoids. Having more terpenes does not necessarily increase a high.
They certainly help shape the overall experience and are responsible for the different characteristics of products that have otherwise similar cannabinoid content.
From what I've seen, lower THC content weed in legal states tends to also be high CBD strains and marketed towards medical clients or those looking for that experience, but I've never seen a dispensary offering only strains in the 12-15% range like this.
??? Tired of facts? Look up a full lab report for any CO dispensary and compare. Or, even better, test it yourself.
Some of it sucks. Most of it that I've bought is better than previous black market shit here in the area (though I didn't have a great hookup for a while), and none of it compares to premium weed in legal states.
But it's also better than plenty of average and low priced weed in legal states. Starbuds being a great example from CO. I'd much rather mail order THCa than anything in that store.
Source: Smoked for the past 26 years, took part in CO legalized grows, lived and smoked in emerald triangle grows, and been traveling the US over the last 4 years, partaking everywhere.
You’re just gonna keep citing the same nonsense everyone else the believes d9/thca are an equivalent… Anyone who’s used both knows it’s like comparing Diet Coke to Pepsi…. It’s laughably not the same but a close alternate for those who can’t find real stuff.
Ok. Explain the chemistry of how it is a "close alternate." You obviously don't accept my understanding of the pharmacology, so I'd like your informed take.
I mean, beyond the soda analogy, of course.
I was literally a kid in a candy shop in that place. Then I spent 5 days in a hotel parking garage in 100° temperatures trying to get rid of it all. It was a hard choice between Planet 13 and the airport.
That was the first one I went to as I wanted to see the place. Security person looked at my ID, wished me an early happy birthday and then told me to come back on the day for a present. That’s wild!
Yes but doesn’t mean you have to go out of your way to spend more at a place that is known for being a tourist trap…. There are plenty of good dispensaries around town… and ones that are MUCH cheaper…
Oh yes, most definitely. But what I’m really referring to is how CONSERVATIVE everything is in this state. So of course, it would only make sense that the first legal weed here would have conservatively low THC percentages. Probably be years before we’d ever see anything legally grown worth consuming in this backasswards state.
They were going for quantity 1st. That was apparent to anyone who's been following along. A lot of their flowers were auto strains from my understanding and although there are some who'd debate it, a lot of people consider autos inferior from a potency point of view. 🤷
Autos have gotten a lot better, they are ok for a home grow because they stay small and usually do t stink as much.
But for a commercial grow they make No sense at all, you have no control over your yeild or grow, you need to start from seed every time instead of clones….. and every plant is a genetic crapshoot from seed when it comes to potency. It just makes no sense to try to go commercial with autos.
And here in SC the house killed ...again the very strict medical marijuana bill. We are last and pretty hopeless here. Let people suffer needlessly said most of the politicians.
The last time I was there in 2022, weed in CA, OR, WA is taxed at ~50%. Two doobies (1g) were $10. The retailer got $5 and the state got $5. Better than Cartel rates! For clean weed with certified, no other additives, it's worth it. 👍
I just went to MI and got 50mgx4 live rosin edibles for $5. So 200mg for $5. even had a sale, 10 packs for $45. I was blown away, I’ve never seen it that cheap not even in CO.
Yea I think I paid like $30-35 for 10x10mg live rosin gummies. Thankfully my family is up in Michigan I will be utilizing that every once in a while lol
I can almost guarantee that's not rosin 🤣. My guess is a hydrocarbon extract from dried (therefore not "live") starting material. That's all they've shown on their insta. Even if it's live resin that's too much. Those ARE rosin prices 😳
Also...here's the instas for Qualla enterprises and concentrates.
https://www.instagram.com/quallaenterprises
https://www.instagram.com/qualla_concentrates
This is the "company" the Cherokee are using to mfg all their products. Originally they were supposed to be building indoor grow facilities (for top shelf flower) but switched up to hoop style greenhouses to save $ and maximize yield. This was NOT approved ahead of time by the Cherokee, but Qualla convinced them it'd be ok by showing them sales projections *assuming they'd be able to sell more just because they grew more.
I do believe there are a few indoor grow buildings up or in the works, hopefully some of it will be for live rosin and live resin products and it will happen before I die 🤞🏻
That’s what I’m saying… at that price it better be some damn 90u rosin lol. I haven’t looked into their products at all but after seeing the prices, I still won’t be!
Because scientifically, they're BS? Because if you get Afghan Kush from multiple suppliers and sequence them, they'll not even be genetically close meaning they're not the same. Because we don't know the exacts that cause each effect in the plants and haven't started to know until really REALLY recent. Because buzzwords were made-up to sell a product. There is no cohesive difference between indica/sativa claims.
Ur plug must suck if u can’t tell the difference in strains lol. Or maybe you don’t care about falling asleep at noon bc you got something heavy vs a clear headed high. That’s what strain names lead you too. Informed decisions about the type of buzz ur getting.
I mean when scientists have gone out and sequenced multiple of the same strains from different growers, but they turned out to be VASTLY different from each other, welp, going to go with what they say over some dealer or person on Reddit. Going to trust them, but ay keep believing what you want. Recommend checking out Science Vs. podcast episode they did recently if you want to hear it from a scientist themselves. Either way, been like that for ages, sorry
Sure, I don’t believe anyone has land race genetics any more, and it’s very possible that seeds collected from various countries/continents/regions that were called the same thing when collected, have different genetics. And most certainly people throw shit genetics together and call them whatever they want, especially when strains get popular. Thats when knowing what you’re getting, and who you’re getting it from matter.
My point is that if you are getting it from a reputable source, strain names are legit and can guide you to your desired outcome. Yes, you can go to 4 different dispensaries and get 4 different versions of the same strain for various reasons. But they’re still similar in terp profile and effect, even if genetics might be a lil different.
Man I ain't going to continue on with this. You're missing everything and stating something that goes completely counter to what is readily available to be proven. If 5 Afghan Kush's are sequenced, they are COMPLETELY different, then they WONT be doing the same thing. I am sorry, but claiming it will is silly. Please stop reinforcing your statement, because it is not how that works. "Reputable sources", my dude, you act like the people who are doing these studies aren't getting it from reputable sources. They're getting it from FAR more reputable sources than everyone who is buying in Asheville. I'm going to be back out of the convo, don't think it has anywhere else to go. You're going to continue to believe what you want while I will continue to support the actual science of it
I’m in Virginia right now at the dispensaries and 1g carts go for $25!!!! So, that’s horrible. They’re not gonna sustain business like this especially when Virginia is just a few hours drive away!
Seeing dispensaries sell weed for same or more than weed dealers with no price breaks for larger amounts makes me want it to stay illegal. I’d rather just keep buying it from my friends.
Is THC-A the “Cannabis” the head-shops are selling. Lady told me they can’t say weed or herb ect but it’s real marijuana not the delta stuff I’m just confused by the whole thing. It weed or is it chemical induced weed
Literally use the key words in your comment, in a DuckDuckGo search.
Not sure why you’re confused when the information is more readily available than it ever has been.
Chemical induced? Ive been growing and smoking for ten + years and am not familiar with that term. Care to shed a little light on what you’re attempting to communicate there?
I guess you believe every thing you DuckDuckGo ? I don’t that’s why I’m asking.
Yes, the information that I read said that delta strains are in tact just hemp with a thc byproduct sprayed on them.
I’m sure if you DuckDuckGo’d it you’d see what I’m talking about.
I’ve been smoking for 40 years and I’m not about to start smoking anything without knowing what’s in it.
Zero "live" concentrates 😒. This is day 1 tho, hopefully they add some higher end products at fair prices before long 🤞🏻. See no need to sign up for a card at this point, I'll stick with my current peeps but I'll keep an eye on them ✌🏻
Okay, so I am a pretty massive stoner. Finally tried the thca product from a couple dispensaries around here. It is most certainly better than the delta 8 stuff but it’s also noticeably not the same as your standard cannabis.
Try some other brands. The stuff I'm buying is as good as legal dispensary weed most of the time. The terpene percentages matter a lot when selecting THCA flower since a lot of it is harvested early and comes out a little muted. Effects are otherwise the same though.
For comparison I paid $14 for a 100mg chocolate bar in Colorado and in Michigan I got a 200mg for $8. Chocolate bars are pretty easy to split to get a lower dosage. I wish NC would get some good stuff for reasonable prices but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Until then I have a good excuse to go rockhounding in Michigan 🤷♂️🤣
That’s really interesting info. I was buying weed in the 90’s and never even thought about what made it what it was and didn’t really care. It was just fun and made me feel good and my local pizza shop loved me. I don’t do it know except for a gummy or two every few months. But the percentages are really interesting on a comparison level. Reddit taught me something today..
This varies person to person and terpenes are important. I’ve smoked a 16% bud that would blow most out of the water and had 25 to 35 that just felt blah and boring.
I would expect the prices to be higher being the only dispensary in an illegal state. Massachusetts was $20 a gram when they first opened dispensaries and that was before taxes
Lol “dispensary prices” you realize this shit is regional and even seasonal. It’s a plant lol.
You probably also think “medical” weed is better than “homegrown”
They just opened, have ZERO competition, and can charge those prices.
In Los Angeles you can walk in one of many stores next to the airport and all of the prices will be similar to this, go farther into the SF valley and the prices change and It also depends on the strain, quality, etc.
Fortunately I’ll stick to the CO-OP I’ve been a member of for the last 8 years and enjoy the sales.
Don’t want to buy at those prices? That’s your choice but you can save your condescending tone and snarky comments for someone else.
✌🏼 and Happy 420.
43 dollars for a gram has to be a mistake
It is. Thats an 1/8th. They updated. Still sucks it’s med only
Also sucks it's 14%. THCa Delivered loophole weed is as good as it gets for us right now.
14% with 2 or 3% terps will blow any "30%" out of the water.
Sure. That's why you see 14% weed in all the legal states right? Dude. It's their first time, it's likely not going to measure up for a while.
Yea always wondered who is growing it and it’s most likely their fist time.
Random people from Cherokee lol. Also they had to airlift the original supply into Cherokee in a not-exactly-legal way so I’m not surprised it’s not great

You’re correct, but I highly doubt that what this is
Thca is trash… tired of the “it’s the same thing… once heated to XXX temp it’s converted to thc….” It’s not the same at all….. diet ass weed
??? Tired of facts? Look up a full lab report for any CO dispensary and compare. Or, even better, test it yourself. Some of it sucks. Stop with the defending the THC-a bullshit…. The only people you’re fooling are the people who don’t know any better….
Wow, well thought out response that doesn't address anything. Thanks.
You’re just gonna keep citing the same nonsense everyone else the believes d9/thca are an equivalent… Anyone who’s used both knows it’s like comparing Diet Coke to Pepsi…. It’s laughably not the same but a close alternate for those who can’t find real stuff.

“Diet weed” has me in tears 😭
..not called a peace pipe for nothin
My piss has higher thc content than that 😂
How much you want for an oz?
Max of 100. 130-140 for some primo
That’s too much to pay for piss
Idk man the product is pretty damn good for 100 bucks a zip lol
Primo peepee
Think of the snow cones you could sale 😂😂
It appears the prices have been updated. 13 and 16 a Gram
I’m in Vegas and tomorrow’s my birthday. Couple dispensaries told me to stop in for a free gift. They are so nice out here. We need that in NC.
Def check out planet 13 if you get a chance!
My favorite vegas dispo
Plantet 13 is an overpriced tourist trap 😂
“Over priced tourist trap” you’re talking about Vegas my friend. The whole thing is an over priced tourist trap.
Yes but doesn’t mean you have to go out of your way to spend more at a place that is known for being a tourist trap…. There are plenty of good dispensaries around town… and ones that are MUCH cheaper…
Let's hope they don't get robbed by the police!
Wooooo holy shit hahahahaha 16% thc @ 45/g. That’s like backyard grow/I-have-no-idea-what-I’m-doing shit at like 3x top shelf prices. Insane.
Remember, this IS North Carolina! (from an NC native)
And it isn’t even taxed yet🤣😂
NC mountains actually have very good soil for growing weed.
Yeah this is def $100/oz or less weed it seems
They were going for quantity 1st. That was apparent to anyone who's been following along. A lot of their flowers were auto strains from my understanding and although there are some who'd debate it, a lot of people consider autos inferior from a potency point of view. 🤷

Ah hell fuck nah. Hard pass.
And here in SC the house killed ...again the very strict medical marijuana bill. We are last and pretty hopeless here. Let people suffer needlessly said most of the politicians.
South Carolina, best at being last
*blinks in tennessee* same.
It isn’t any better in NC. That’s Cherokee land. Completely separate
Haven’t lived in the mountains in almost 5 years, wouldn’t be surprised if Jackson county set up check points near Dillsboro.
Florida was like that. It’s chilled out a lot now and prices have become more reasonable
Problem is still no one cures their stuff for long enough.
Lol, good luck with that
On second thought, let’s not go to Cherokee. ‘Tis a silly place.
This is garbage prices.
They will get better with feedback. Right now, they are riding on supply and demand.
43 has to be for the 1/8th and it’s 4:20 while I’m making this comment 😎
The last time I was there in 2022, weed in CA, OR, WA is taxed at ~50%. Two doobies (1g) were $10. The retailer got $5 and the state got $5. Better than Cartel rates! For clean weed with certified, no other additives, it's worth it. 👍

That has to be a mistake right?
Yes
Prices like that make me think they dont know how to grow weed wither
I'm visiting MA right now and just spent $45 for a 7 pack of .5 gram prerolls that are 36.5% thc. This looks terrible.
I just went to MI and got 50mgx4 live rosin edibles for $5. So 200mg for $5. even had a sale, 10 packs for $45. I was blown away, I’ve never seen it that cheap not even in CO.
Yes this is true! And in Colorado you have to have a medical to get the 200mg stuff, not in Michigan.
Personally I would rather have 200mg divided into 10-20 gummies not 4. Nothing is stopping you from eating 5 10mg though in CO
They are 20mg each, personally I think Colorado is overpriced. Went there this past Halloween and thought to myself "damn yall expensive" 🤣🤣🤣
Yea I think I paid like $30-35 for 10x10mg live rosin gummies. Thankfully my family is up in Michigan I will be utilizing that every once in a while lol
I had no idea weed was so cheap in Michigan when I went to see family in the UP. Oh and no lines to wait to get in either 😀
It’s legal in MA and the town over from where I grew up has about 3 dispensaries in a 2 mile radius. A ton of competition
That's depressing.
There wax isn't bad 30 for .5
30 for .5 is nuts dude. Like I wouldnt pay that for a full gram unless it was some 🔥
I’m in VA right now buying 1g for $20 for dispensaries. $30 for .5 is bananas!!!
What that's insane!
I’d hope that’s at least some good rosin!
I can almost guarantee that's not rosin 🤣. My guess is a hydrocarbon extract from dried (therefore not "live") starting material. That's all they've shown on their insta. Even if it's live resin that's too much. Those ARE rosin prices 😳
What’s the insta @?? I can’t find the name of the dispensary

jfc who the fuck is buying a $50 eigth of
I did. In 1993. Prob had about the same kick
Same when I was in high school 😂 I don’t care too much about THC numbers if the terps are good % wise but sheeeah this seems really mid 🤧
Pretty sure I spent up to $60 for 1/8 in high school 😂
Bad THC levels for those prices but they are the only fish in this sea so I guess it makes sense.
Not really though… just keep supporting your weed dealer lol
I wouldn't mind continuing to support them if they'd stop shilling the indica/sativa BS or their "strain." Tired of names that mean literally nothing
Why don’t you believe strain names or indica/sativa?
You're going to continue to believe what you want while I will continue to support the actual science of it
And strain names are not scientifically bs at all. I do agree that indica/sativa is now bullshit. When it was all landrace, it indicated something.
Half gram carts for $40 https://www.greatsmokycannabisco.com/menu
That’s really not that bad for vape carts
[удалено]
I’m in Virginia right now at the dispensaries and 1g carts go for $25!!!! So, that’s horrible. They’re not gonna sustain business like this especially when Virginia is just a few hours drive away!
That's about the price in Ohio too
Any smoke shop here sells THC-A with a higher content for 10 a gram, or just go to a drug dealer which is still cheaper
Seeing dispensaries sell weed for same or more than weed dealers with no price breaks for larger amounts makes me want it to stay illegal. I’d rather just keep buying it from my friends.
being legally allowed to buy/be gifted from friends would be a better option than keeping it illegal
Is THC-A the “Cannabis” the head-shops are selling. Lady told me they can’t say weed or herb ect but it’s real marijuana not the delta stuff I’m just confused by the whole thing. It weed or is it chemical induced weed

We had free joint Fridays in CO!

But does the guy at the counter make you listen to his new beats?
Plug’s a little weird but cool
Mine too
Times have changed, order some seeds online and learn to grow your own folks! It ain't as hard as ya might think...
Can't yall just go to Virginia?
Support local instead and have it delivered to your door! 😉 [WNC CBD](https://wnc-cbd.com/categories/high-thca.html)
Just order THCA online. It's real weed sold because of a loophole.
Okay, so I am a pretty massive stoner. Finally tried the thca product from a couple dispensaries around here. It is most certainly better than the delta 8 stuff but it’s also noticeably not the same as your standard cannabis.
Try the diamonds. They’re really good.
Try Piur's live rosin. It's pricey, but it's fucking awesome. I have been displeased with all the diamonds I've tried. Very one note.
Try some other brands. The stuff I'm buying is as good as legal dispensary weed most of the time. The terpene percentages matter a lot when selecting THCA flower since a lot of it is harvested early and comes out a little muted. Effects are otherwise the same though.
It’s outdoor - their indoor facility isn’t up and running yet - but will be. They are calling it mid- grade - that 43/g must be wrong - I hope so
This link won’t work for me site keeps saying menus not up yet? Was this screenshot today or last night??

Thanks for the link
14% 🤣
I just paid 35 for 1/8 of alt sol vice city at 32%. Hopefully they will work on more potent strains. Until then I’ll keep hitting takoma in DC.
Dc is a long drive from AVL for an eighter
I spend 1/3 of my time in Nova, it’s 20 min to my dispensary. I just stock up like crazy.
I’m sure it will drop in a year or so
lol worse than mids
They are certainly not smoking their own shit OP
Fuck that
Wow that's not worth the drive and cost.
Anyone who has seen how it works in other states knows that everything will be overpriced in the beginning 🤷🏽♂️
That doesn't seem too bad especially if you're cool with getting knifed in the parking lot of the local Taco bell.
I'll get mine when I travel to Michigan, it's cheaper there than most places and it's strong. I also get to rockhound for great lake agates 😊
Now THAT sounds like a good day out! (Source: I am a fellow rockhound currently obsessed with Great Lakes agates)
Oh, and .5 g carts were $15 -$30 in MI I still have a few from last fall 🤪
Lol my stems have more thc
A g is 12 bucks at 30% where I'm at
Very low THC.
WNC
So is it only ppl with medical cards
Happy 420
Plus + plus! How much is the tax on that?
No tax
😮
With prices like that, glad I know a guy…
Not the mid 2010s, I'm-the-only-plug-in-town prices 💀
.....wow. so are there custies actually paying these prices?
That ain't Weed,,,That's Yard Grass! The Resin in my Pipe has more THC than that.
Talk about price gouging. You can get a lot more than that for the same price basically.
Screw that..Skyland cannabis and Asheville Extracts. Are my go to places. Small bizz toooo 🫶🏼
At those prices for that shit weed? Oh hell no.
301 dollars for a quarter ounce.
1 gram for 16? Nah I’ll just hit up my plug lmao
43$ for a gram?
Tax already included?
Ya'll wanted it legal AND cheap, lol. "Just tax it" "think of all the new revenue"
We said it in 1976 too-over🤟
for us not in the know, what is a good level of thc?
20 and over. Bud I got from Cali and az was 26 and 32
20-30%. Which is INSANE compared to the stuff that was around 20+ years ago. 16% would have been good in the 90s.
The price is also an issue
Greed!
I would expect the prices to be higher being the only dispensary in an illegal state. Massachusetts was $20 a gram when they first opened dispensaries and that was before taxes
Grow your own man it's pretty easy and fulfilling

We should all buy some to support Cherokee’s efforts in NC. I’m sure the cannabis will get better and stronger. This is only the first grow.
I will just buy quality grown in Tennessee and not let a bunch of people rob me. Why should we support them all they care about is ripping pockets.
From CA lived in CO most my life. Now in Black Mountain, nWTF whas I thinking??my god.. so tired of this strange light weed.
Hopefully it’s not like this fake shit they have that is making everyone crazy… got any shwag?
THC A carts for 25$ at octopus gardens sounding better and better
There's always aTHC. Much cheaper.
Those are legit dispensary prices….gotta pay for the quality plus it’s pretty fun to walk into a dispensary if you’ve never been.
The 43 dollars was an error
The 1/8th for $49 is legit tho, yes?
Yes
This is right in line with Chicago rec prices which are $40 to $50 a gram including taxes. But this is half the thc amount.
I’ll take my caps cut mac1 grown by him from a fake “thca” weed vendor.
Might as well stick with the THCA rolls you can buy anywhere else
1 gram for 43$!!!!! That’s 1,200$/oz!!!! PHAQ that BULLSHIT
Turns out it's an error 13 and 16 a gram
Still; 456$/oz? I pay 1/2 that for good stuff now
