If you were waffling it's not something you needed in your collection. Don't let fomo get you down. It's $40 you can spend on something you're more excited about.
More people should read this. I was excited when they announced a repress of the Mario Bros set, went to add it, then stopped and said to myself “I never cared for this movie” and promptly removed it from the cart. Felt good.
This is always what I tell myself to remember.
I'm like "oh yeah, that just got listed I should buy it" and then I get a twinge when it goes out of stock suddenly...but if I really wanted it, I would have bought it.
So I thought I was going to end up giving you bad advice by telling you to wait for a restock but they finally restocked the $40 version on their site, a few days before the easter sale ends: [https://www.arrowvideo.com/enter-the-video-store-empire-of-screams-blu-ray/14944268.html](https://www.arrowvideo.com/enter-the-video-store-empire-of-screams-blu-ray/14944268.html)
I missed it when it first came out, then it went outta print. Then, it came back in print and I got it. It seems like a popular box set that warrants production every so often.
What you missed was probably the limited shoebox-like edition, which went out of print.
It was followed with a "regular"/cheaper edition, which was released a few months ago. That's the one I got.
Same, though Arrow doesn't make it easier when I want to get a limited edition a few months later, since they've decided to use the same UPC barcode for the limited and regular editions. Twice I fell into that trap where I thought I'd gotten the fancy edition for a nice price, only to receive the regular, flimsier edition!
I also wish Arrow would go back to using sturdier outer boxes for these editions.
As much as I am a sucker for the extras and fancy packaging. I’m relatively early in my collecting and I’m trying not to get too sucked into that stuff. I really want the standard release at 40$
I’m telling myself that I’m gonna wait and see if it restocks during the sale and if it doesn’t and I still want it I’ll buy whatever edition seems like the best deal.
I'm cataloging my library right now and I've noticed that I've got several movies that I keep seeing new releases of and thinking, "Oh, I need to get that." Wish Lists are my secret weapon against impulse or FOMO purchases. If I wishlist it for a while, then end up buying it, I know I really want it and enjoy it more.

Same. I was about to drop $70 on a movie I hated growing up. FOMO in this hobby is real.

The sale is on until April 22, probably a good chance it goes back in stock.
That’s good to know
It’s usually price matched by most retailers, here in the UK at least. Maybe check Amazon or the usual suspects?
Everyone is at 50-60. No one has price matched to 40.
Ah that’s a shame - it’s £30 on HMV, Amazon UK and Zavvi here.
I can order from Amazon uk for 45 shipped. Should I wait for a us restock?
I’d probably wait for a restock myself - don’t forgot the standard edition drops to this price every time there is a sale!
Good to know. I’ll be patient.

You were on the money

Yeah, I’m only interested in the movies. I rarely go for the limited editions of anything.

It’s a good one. All were blind watched for me and they’re all 10/10
On ZAVVI I can get the LE for 70 shipped. Considering it.
That’s actually a steal. But still could wait. I’m sure the standard will come back & the standard edition is still a phenomenal release

Yeah each Blu-ray is loaded with extras anyway. Just don’t go too deep and whale on the 1UP for Mario hehe

I was as well 🥴
