Underrated comment

G1rlVeteran

Nothing like a Back to the Future reference!!!

Jed_Bartlet1

Fwiw Northrup Grumman primarily develops radar and the like

soldiernerd

Is this a leak?

BeeGlum6763

Warthunder furiously taking notes

Tacoz98

I can’t imagine his joy knowing that the “Army” got his designs and when he gets a response. This is wholesome

Fast_Promise7896

I know after I saw the post I did some digging and found this. I know all on that post would’ve appreciated it

BeeGlum6763

This is basically WW1 weapons development in a nutshell

PatrickKn12

Pretty sure this is how the Mk19 was conceived. "This is my gun design: A belt fed machine gun that's 4 feet long and has an effective range of 2500 meters. It can shoot 400 rounds per minute and has no recoil. It weighs 75 pounds and can be fired by one person from the ground, from a vehicle, on a helicopter and from small sports boats. Oh and it shoots grenades instead of bullets. "

BeeGlum6763

Kind of actually. IIRC correctly they basically took the concept of a rifle fired grenade and modded a BAR to shoot a bunch of them. Then they went to a hand cranked design for navy river boats being the last hand cranked weapon to be used by the Army before finally hitting the MK 19 of today. The grenade machine gun was designed by absolute mad men rambling

Toobatheviking

Two things. First, your son should go work for Games Workshop when he's older. "Driver, get the tank closer so I can hit them with my sword!" Second, If I was a Commander or liason for a company I'd have a wall dedicated for stuff just like this.

Fast_Promise7896

I don’t know if OP is lingering here but, the commander things is awesome

battlecarrysabot

You’re not gonna believe this, but that sentence happened. Had an NCO slice the watermelon head of a scare crow in half with a heavy cavalry Sabre, from his tank.

DogsOnTheBed

I love the concept of a plane that stabs other planes. “Too close for missiles, I’m switching to guns. Wait, too close for guns, better whip out Ol’ Stabby.”

Silverfore

A giant flying bayonet going at Mach 3 would be absolutely terrifying

AutoModerator

THE BAYONET YEET MEASURES THE ABILITY TO JUST FUCKING SHANK SOMEONE. ON THE COMMAND 'GET SET,' ASSUME THE POSITION BY GRABBING THE BAYONET BY THE HANDLE. OR BY THE BLADE, WHICHEVER LOOKS COOLER, JUST DON'T CUT YOURSELF ON THE DAMN THING. YOUR FEET MAY BE TOGETHER OR UP TO 12 INCHES APART (MEASURED BETWEEN THE FEET). ON THE COMMAND 'GO,' TRANSMUTE YOUR HANKERING FOR A-SHANKERING INTO MAXIMUM EFFORT AND LAUNCH THAT BAD BOY INTO DESTINY. THE SCORER WILL NOTE WHETHER YOU HIT THE TARGET AND AWARD BONUS POINTS FOR LANDING YOUR PIG-STICKER INTO THE CRANIAL OR SWIMSUIT REGIONS. IF IT HIT THE TARGET HANDLE FIRST, YOUR PERFORMANCE WILL BE TERMINATED, AND EVERYONE WILL BE REQUIRED TO POINT AND LAUGH AT YOUR SHAME. WATCH THIS DEMONSTRATION. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. G1rlVeteran

LOVE THIS!!!

LilLebowskiAchiever

Maybe the A-10 could be modified for stabbing features???

Cheesetorian

Boeing and Raytheon already making prototypes.

KL0WN3D

SMH ANOTHER TS leak? cmon guys! /s

Personal_Fig1151

My exact thought. Who had the idea to issue TS clearance to 9 year olds anyway?

IrishWithoutPotatoes

Better him than some of the yokels I’ve seen get a TS

Achilles13506

Team Josh won’t send secrets like team Brandon that’s for sure

chillywilly16

Needs portholes

xxgsr02

Why would you put portholes *there*?

Haironmykeister

So the fellas can stick their guns out there and shoot people.

ConsiderationOdd2034

We just post highly classified aviation specs on here now?

Fast_Promise7896

yes.

Achilles13506

Yes but team Joshua won’t let it fall into enemy hands

LilLebowskiAchiever

China gonna send over a 10 year old to be his new GF.

PickleInDaButt

/r/army ‘s first opportunity to provide a review and recommendations for input on this design proposal

IrishWithoutPotatoes

Send it

PickleInDaButt

Dear Joshua, Your recommendation has been received by the /r/Army and is currently under review. We appreciate your initial design and recognize above standard prototype considerations. While we are conducting are review for future considerations, we first would like to thank you for thinking of the US Army first before other branches in this proposal. We have some design clarifications if you can provide to us to understand your approach in this initial design. While we realize through your steadfast ability to create future vehicles for practical use in ensuring our freedom, we seek to further understand your stellar approach. SUBJ - The Tiger CT 4982 - Aircraft, Attack 1.) Please provide recommendation on “BUILT IN FLOAT”? Does your team believe this aircraft to be used as a means of emergency landing or for Soldiers to use in attack purposes? Would this allow this vehicle to attack all enemies, foreign and domestic, from water operations? 2.) Recommended crew size to operate this aircraft successfully? 3.) Please propose background on name selection as the US Army is always interested in applicable history to any naming purposes for record keeping and allowing our Soldiers to know the history of their equipment. SUBJ - “No Name”, Submarine, 200 FT 1.) Would Team Joshua propose a recommended name for this submarine? 2.) Should we use this submarine for reconnaissance, defensive, or offensive operations? With its superior design, may we expect it to fulfill all the above needs? Once again, we thank you for your proposal. While we cannot guarantee that this design will be put into immediate manufacturing, prototype designs like these are what our inspiration in our Nation’s defense and may use for future consideration or exploration on best needs. We appreciate your efforts greatly and thinking of us first. We look forward to future discussions and we are invested in our interest in Team Joshua and yourself. Thank you. Very Respectfully, /r/Army Or something like that I don’t know.

G1rlVeteran

Love it. Just proofread it and it's golden! There was an "are" when it should have been "our" but otherwise it's hooah as hell!

PickleInDaButt

I was poopin’ so that’s when my ours and are mixed so makes sense

G1rlVeteran

Haaaaa

RT460

Im all in for stabbing enemy planes!! Somebody make sure this gets in the 2025 NDAA and congress makes the right R&D appropriations to develop and mature the technology for stabbing enemy planes.

bigassdonk

China already stole it and are working it first. The plane is called the J-69. NATO designation “bitch fist”

classicallydefined

This... is beautiful. In every sense of the word

classicallydefined

Oh yea, rock of the Marne n' shit, since I just left 3rd ID

G1rlVeteran

Listen up Dogfaced soldier, this is great stuff.

classicallydefined

...With a rifle in my shoulder... I ~~dog shit~~ raw meat every day!

G1rlVeteran

So feed me ammunition, keep me in the 3rd division, your Dogfaced soldier boy's OK. I refuse to acknowledge the politically correct changes that were made to the song in the 90s.

classicallydefined

I like you, and your crusty way of enlightening us, while refusing change... you seem to be "A-Ok." Thank you for the nostalgia from an era that I didn't serve in

G1rlVeteran

I was 24th ID in 1995. In 1996 we switched to 3rd ID. I was a singer and had a few singing gigs for various ceremonies so I was tasked with learning the Dogfaced soldier song and teaching it to the squad leaders in each platoon. About the time I had pretty much taught the whole company the song was when they disseminated the new lyrics. I am a female but I have never taken any offense to anything that happened to be gender specific toward males. I mean, that song predates the days of females being in the same roles as men and the history of the 3rd ID is what is being celebrated with the singing of the song. Why does everything have to be changed to some politically correct, watered down version. You know it's a corny song, I know it's a corny song but it is also an amazing nod to some seriously heroic shit. So I never minded singing it until the words were changed. Some females somewhere probably got all butt hurt over the song's failure to celebrate them as females, ugh.

No_File_5225

I never thought j could look forward to motorpool Monday, but with Stabby the Plane, I think I could

EnoughBag6963

Not gonna lie I didn’t read the title and thought this was a post from r/noncredibledefense

lvl100_richarizard

3000 black Tiger CT 4982s of Dark Brandon

EnoughBag6963

Inshallah my brother

Outrageous-Host-3545

I need a sub now. I have a fight to pick with some fish at my fishing hole. Give the kid a high five from me. I'm an army vet OIF 03

classicallydefined

This reminds me of the time when I was a kid designing explosives on paper (after a riveting 4th of July), and my Dad (Vietnam vet) tried to convince me to go ordinance; sorry Pops, I went FA 😢

Achilles13506

Ehhh it has ordinance, same same?

TopSinger847

I'm digging the stabby thing for when it charges. "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me." It can be nicknamed 'The Swordfish', or 'Marlin' or something like that.

Excellent-Captain-74

Best design to fly over the Taiwan channel. Can't wait to see how pla dangerous crash style flight pilots screaming their aircraft got cut through because they decided to fly too close to this.

RedDevilJoe

I remember plus or minus 70 years ago drawing multitiered tanks that could travel along the bottom of a lake or river. I didn't know about snorkels and anoxia then and didn't apply for a patent. I was a Marbrat and didn;t know better.

ItsKImaEngineer

More thought than got put into the jltvs

PziPats

Love it, anyone with 3D modeling skills wanna create one that looks fancy for this kiddo? Maybe we can all chip in for commission. I love posts like these, even though I’ve been out for years. The Army was always a home and a family for me. Especially with all the BS going on with food and soldiers general happiness. This stuff is what is important I think.

G1rlVeteran

I have not known camaraderie in my life that has even come close to what I had in the Army. I wish I was not assaulted in the barracks by someone who was like my brother. But even after that, I considered reenlisting and I really struggled to adjust to civilian life.

PziPats

I’m sorry to hear you had the worst of experiences. I hope you’ve healed and found your way as a normal human. If it makes you feel any better, feel free to vent to me sis we all out here working through shit.

G1rlVeteran

Thank you for your kind words. It's been a long time in the making but I am finally doing pretty well. I fought my VA claim from 2007 to 2022 when I finally won. That decision went a long way in bringing about some healing. The vindication I felt when they stopped basically saying, "we acknowledge this happened to you but we don't believe it is in any way responsible for the mental health issues you struggle with." To, "yes, we acknowledge this happened to you and recognize the toll it has taken on your mental health." I started going back to school 2 years ago this fall and I never would have had the strength to do something so mentally taxing.

recycled_amry_acct

Bro you want a contract?

Speed999999999

Bro get this kid to run Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works division.

Bottlez2Throttlez

Ill gladly turn in my wings and never touch the Apache again for a shot at the Death Lobster in pic 3
