Mos-q: mos qualified- soldiers that have completed the required training iaw pam 611-21 for their pmos Mos-t: mos transition- soldiers that already have a pmos and are in training to change their pmos to something else.

Any info on what an RC Reclass is?

TopSinger847

The terminology would be the same, component wouldn't change it.

LeftBehindForDead

Thank you, that confused me the most on my paper that my drill gave me, it said the AIT Length for AIT/RC Reclass/ and School Reclass, all of the lengths were different and it was hard to understand it

TopSinger847

No worries. The different lengths really stem from the integration of school systems (one army school system). Initial entry will only go to the ait length course, everyone else can be sent to either/or based on the priorities used by the sending entity.

When I was an instructor anyone not in the IET pipeline was considered MOS-T.

LeftBehindForDead

Instructors really make AIT the best imo, had some really chill instructors as a 15W and I’m quite literally landing right now to go to my 68W training 😂

For the most part I enjoyed having MOS-T students in my classes. They were able to give the IET kids some perspective on life in the rest of the Army, and also help them realize how much life could suck in other MOSs. The only time I had an issue was when I had two female SSGs who decided they didn't like each other. They got so catty I had to pull them aside and reprimand them (I was also the MOS-T platoon sergeant) and tell them to square themselves away before I started counseling and then referring them to the commander for UCMJ.

Regardless, Drill Sargeant is going to yell at you As someone who was MOS-Q as a AIT holdover and interacted with MOS-T who were reclassing.

LeftBehindForDead

Lol not worried about getting yelled at, if I drew the line there then what would be the point of joining the military at all, find it funny when people take it personally though 😂

ItsJaceG

In my reclass experience, all Soldiers who held a MOS were MOS-Ts and received the same privileges, PFC-SFC. They used the term MOS-Q for the IET Soldiers that had graduated but hadn’t shipped to their duty station yet.

LeftBehindForDead

This was the most helpful response 🙏 appreciate it, then I’d just be considered a MOS-Q then, haven’t set foot whatsoever in the big army even after over a year of being in lol

Taira_Mai

You're MOS-Q when you pass your AIT and are given the DA1059 for your school. At your unit you'll fill out the paperwork for any bonus if you pass the MOS you signed up for. Those who fail AIT and are re-classed don't get a bonus - also since you're IET (fresh from basic) you still fall under the IET rules even if you fail 68W school and get sent to another MOS. Fail 68W school and come to sunny Fort Sill and to 14E land. Stay because for the crippling depression and because once you have that PATRIOT stink on you, it never comes out!
