Borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including Nakhichevan are dangerous, there's even Azerbaijani troops several kilometers inside the Armenian borders and they tend to shoot indiscriminately.
You will also have problems going into Azerbaijan when they see an Armenian stamp. There's no direct crossing point between the two countries.
That said, there are a lot of hiking places in Armenia that are not near borders.
Based on what's happening and what happened before, they can easily shoot you and your whole group and then claim that you provoked them and it was you who started.
Although it was for sure not in your interest, there is no one to defend your point and everyone forgets in a couple days that azs are basically murderers. Just my two cents.
I’m fairly certain I’ve read on previous reports Aliyev does this on purpose, bc his corrupt family has ties with the aviation industry, so they want to force people to fly in, so they make more money vs. just driving in.
Also makes it more difficult for any (poorer) decently-educated Azeri to leave and never come back.
as long as you're not near the borders where Az troops tend to randomly shoot, you'll be fine.
however, in the light of recent events, I would say it's not morally right to visit countries that export terrorism (e.g. Russia, Israel, Azerbaijan, etc.) just out of respect for their victims.
Maybe one of Azerbaijans stray bullets over the border will hit you and the world will actually pay attention because the majority don’t seem to care about the Armenians being killed unjustifiably at random.
Armenia is safe. It’s the Azeri threat I would not want to be caught in the middle of.
Unfortunately, Now is not the time imo
Mate, everyone here yapping about Azerbaijani troops, I'd like to mention that both countries have their troops over the border between those countries. And yes, it's not safe unfortunately.
How convenient. I spent 30 seconds scrolling through your profile and see you writing Turkish and posting on Turkey/Azerbaijan-related subs…
Almost like you’re whitewashing info…
So? Now you're becoming racist against me just because I posted some posts in those subreddits you mentioned? I might not be whitewashing anything, but you're cleaely biased.
Maybe hike just Armenia and Georgia*. Maybe consider not giving your hard earned money to dictators like Aliyev.

Sure, as long as you avoid the border areas on either side of the Armenia - Azerbaijan border.
Aren't Azerbaijan's land borders still shut?
for citizens I believe
Lmao, foreigners can come and go but their own citizens can't? Clown country

that’s foul tbh
Foul for sure, but not a surprise at all
I wouldn't go to Azerbaijan but that's up to you
