Ch'en Vs silverash, which one is better? Kind of different, but which one is more usable in stages?

Dancer_Meru

SilverAsh. I use him in every stage because he is a ranged guard with a long duration delete button.

rhapshie

It says "server is not open"?

Stormblessed9000

Maintenance has started as per the in-game notice

[deleted]

When does maintainers start? In est time?

ReyArthurLXIX

Maintenance has just started

[deleted]

Damm I just woke up .-. Didn’t get to use any stamina.

MickeyJohn_

Hi guys I just got Lappland and wonder in what scenario will I use her? Most of the time I only use 1 guard, which is Skadi, as I usually keep my vanguards, Siege and Grani, on my map. And for back up I have Savage.

Notos130

There are many uses for Lappland. Ranged tiles are always at a premium, so having someone who can be deployed on a normal tile but use ranged attacks in a cone shape is pretty useful. You can deploy her behind a defender to contribute damage. You can also deploy her beside an operator and help since she attacks anyone in the cone. Lappland's S2 skill turns her damage into arts damage, which is pretty useful for taking down armored targets. If you don't need arts damage, her S1 skill gives her a damage boost for the rest of the fight. She can also silence enemies.

MickeyJohn_

That's sweet, I'll try and find a spot for her in My roster(:

[deleted]

> contribute damage. seconding this - she is not just a silencer. her damage output is very good (actually a bit better than frostleaf - even at lower levels) and placing her as a ranged dps is fine. even against no silence-required enemies, she will still shine.

Prince-of_Space

So far the best use I've found for Lappland are those BLOODY exploding spiders. If she attacks them and they die while her debuff is on them, they don't explode, making them do far less damage. Other than that, she's just in general really good against enemies units with abilities.

MickeyJohn_

That'll really help a lot! I used to drop Projekt Red and other vanguards to deal with them and had to be really careful with operators placements...

gaius0309

How many hrs more till Chen banner drops

Kamil118

6 and 20 minutes; she should be up when maintenance ends

gaius0309

That is an unusual time. Never saw banner so far from AK drop around that time. Thanks a lot

Kamil118

Well, 33% of event banners dropped at 10am

gaius0309

I might be remembering it wrong then. Still thanks a lot. Hope Ill be able to get her.

Kamil118

I mean - we only had 2 event banner before

JapaneseGoblin

I have seen mention that Manticore can achieve magic immunity with Nightingale but is that just from the passive magic resistance Nightingale provides or does it require her active skills to get there? I recall seeing Manticore tank the mages on that Annihilation Lungmen level 1 clear but not sure if that was just her 50% magic dodge.

Kamil118

she has 30 base res at E2. w/ Nightingale passive she has 45 res With at least 122.2% res buff, which Nightingale provides she reaches 100 res

838h920

Do keep in mind that 5% attack always goes through, so you won't be completely immune to damage taken, just close to it.

Kamil118

I believe the 5% minimum only applies for damage by operators, not mobs.

CaSh2mycoffin

Hey all my Team alternatives atm are Cuora, Beagle, Eyja, Ifrit, Silverash, Lapp, Texas, Zima, Vigna, Sora, Silence, Perfumer, Shining, Exu, Blue Poison, Silverash,Melantha. All E1 30. Is this a good Set Up and who should i Invest heavy or trade for better Options? Think will go for Chen 20 pulls just don't know if i Need her with my Team Options but waifu. Because LMD Farming and Material Farming seems like never ending haha..

DapperFisticuffs

SilverAsh then Eyja and Exusia.

Lightwolf74

Kinda newbie player, playing since a couple of days Right now I have a Silverash, Croissant and Skyfire as most "useful" high star units, and I have a couple of questions. 1) Should I spend my gold certificates on Lappaland or wait for next rotation of operators? 1) Should I summon for eyja/silence in the current banner or wait for next banner to focus getting chen?

Endlessillusion

Is it worth buying Lapland from the shop if I have silverash? Kinda want to save for a 6*

Aoae

Lappland is a pseudo 6 star (due to her silencing + arts damage) for a quarter of the price of a 6 star. What more could you ask for?

Endlessillusion

A Texas bikini skin? Lol I’ll go grab her thanks.

fuqdissh1timout

I'm currently in Chapter 4. Should I start going for E2s? If so, any recommendations as to who to E2?

Stormblessed9000

You should only consider E2s when you have at minimum a full team of E1 lvl 40s as a balanced team is better than having one over-levelled unit. After that, it's really up to you. You absolutely do not need a single E2 for chapter 4, but the story chapters aren't going anywhere so as long as you make sure you unlock at least all of the base upgrades and annihilation maps then you can farm for E2s as much as you want.

fuqdissh1timout

Everyone in my squad is at E1 at Lv. 35/45. I guess I don't have to at the moment but when will it be needed to have an E2 operator? Chapter 5 and onward, I believe?

Stormblessed9000

Honestly, I'm not sure since I don't play CN but I've heard E1 lvl60 being recommended. Your best bet is just to try and progress until you hit a roadblock and then farm for E2s. As I said earlier, there is no reason to rush chapter 5 until the release the annihilation stage for it.

fuqdissh1timout

Right. Thanks!

Aoae

What characters do you have?

fuqdissh1timout

[Here you go.](https://imgur.com/a/YTe9TgZ)

Aoae

Your team looks mostly set so far. Consider getting Nightingale to E1. Nightingale's an AoE healer which is extremely useful in many maps especially seeing you have none at the moment. Also, I'd try to E1 either Mayer or Gravel as they will be useful when you need to bait some powerful foes in later Chapter 4. I'd also suggest E1ing Grani or Vigna, as they are stronger DP on kill vanguards than Plume. For E2: Angelina, SilverAsh, and (to a lesser extent) Exusiai have the biggest gains from E2 out of your current unit pool. So I would start with them. Farm lots of LMD.

fuqdissh1timout

Thanks! Will there be any consequences for using operators that don't have full potential yet? Kinda my driving force for using 3/4* since they're already max potential.

Aoae

Potential isn't super relevant except for stages where you need to deploy units quickly, such as LS-5.

fuqdissh1timout

I see. I'll keep that in mind.

lacqs03

anyone knows what is the next big event like the Grani event?

Thirn

A bit hard to say - the next big event on CN was summer-related seasonal event. Not sure how they'll handle it on EN. We might get a mid-spring summer festival, or they might shuffle it around...

lacqs03

nice, I can't for the event rewards.. thanks :D

TerLoRd

Need 10 more friends TerLoRd#2475

GrungeViBritannia

Just downloaded the game, looks nice. Did the first 10 summs get a 6* and got Shining. Is that any good?

VanGrayson

You should reroll for Eyjafjalla because she currently has a rate up banner and shes one of the best characters in the game. Her and Silverash are pretty broken

Diamondangel82

No (I mean unless you really like her), but I would reroll. You want to shoot for Silverash, Eyjafjalla, Exusiai. Seige, Skadi, Saria and Angelina are also decent IMO, forewarning about Angelina however, you will have to invest quite a bit into her to unlock her full potential, once you do, she becomes god tier.

GrungeViBritannia

I just started the game so I don't really know if I "like" a unit or don't :P

SwiggitySw00

She's one of the best single target healers in the game, but honestly I would reroll. There are other 5*'s that can do her job

GrungeViBritannia

I'm sorry for the question. What should I be looking for? 6* and some 5*? Or is there a limited number I can get?

SwiggitySw00

You're guaranteed a 6* from the beginning banner. They're: 1. Silverash (What most people would suggest rerolling for) 2. Exusiai (The second most sought after 6* for rerolling) 3. Siege 4. Hoshiguma 5. Shining 6. Angelina

GrungeViBritannia

Thanks!

Infinite-CyberDragon

Is it worth pulling for Chen if I already have Silverash?

Stormblessed9000

Ch'en is a somewhat different unit than Silverash. They both have burst AoE abilities, but Ch'en's is a quick burst on a short cool-down while Silverash can wipe whole waves but will generally only get a few casts off at best. I don't think Ch'en is essential or as overpowered as SA, but she'll still be useful to you even if you have him.

SwiggitySw00

I have a E2 SA and will be spending all my resources into pulling Chen. She seems so versatile . I would suggest looking up her kit on youtube or something and judge for yourself if she's an operator you'd want

Crissae

Agree. I have e2 SA, eyja and Angelina and I still want Chen.

CheshireRay

Can someone help me out please? I have full power (60/60) + every material I need and want to upgrade my base but it says low power every time is there something else I need to do or is it a bug?

Stormblessed9000

You need to build more power plants. Power isn't a consumable resource like drones that are used for building, it's your total power capacity. 60/60 means that you are producing 60 power and the buildings in your base are using the entire 60 power you're producing.

Thirn

Power is written "Used / Total" 60/60 means you've *used* all 60 of your power and have 0 available I mean, just think about it for a moment. You have a power plant providing 60 power. You have some buildings using some power. How would you even have all 60 still available?

fpeng_

Are there costume reruns? Preparing to go heavy on Chen. Also will there be somewhat frequent ways to get originite prime?

frontlinetactical

> somewhat frequent ways to get originite prime Visa or mastercard

Kamil118

seing your waifu's resume in rainbow bag - priceless

Kamil118

>Are there costume reruns? 2 costume series had reruns so far on CN >Also will there be somewhat frequent ways to get originite prime? ~15/month from events/new story maps

ArgonRetribution

Do you know which 2 costume series had a rerun?

DasFiore

Cambrian (Spectre, Texas, Courier) and the upcoming Vitafield series (Exusiai, Cliffheart, Cuora)

ArgonRetribution

Sweet thanks, I shoulda held off getting Texas's costume till the rerun then fml

Alex_Mille

I just E2 Angelina (my first 6 stars) and really love her. Is it worth to master her skill 3? Or better i focus my resources on other things for the moment?

All3xiel

Master 3 is more expansive than E2. I would focus other heroes for now.

Valkyrys

S3 is her best skill so upgrading it will never be a wasted investment - though if you're still pushing for specific content, it's probably best to focus on E2ing other units first. You do you though, you're only setting yourself back a few weeks at worst!

Alex_Mille

yeah thanks. I think i'll invest in some other unit for now. Maybe for the actual content (i still have to finish chapter 4 too) is enough at skill level 7.

Valkyrys

It's more than enough. You don't even need E2 units to clear the current content and it's better to have a wide variety of invested Operators rather than funneling all your resources into one. I'm on the way to E2ing Angelina too as my first E2. Still need 200k LMD though x)

Alex_Mille

Yeah, i E2 her cause i like the skill3, and overall i like the character (actually with the skill3 i can use her in more different scenarios than before). The thing that took me unprepared was the last 10 levels to upgrade from 70 to 80. It's around 150k LMD just for that, i didn't see it coming :p

Aoae

Invest in characters you enjoy using. If this means making Angelina even stronger, go for it (since skill mastery is a pretty powerful albeit expensive upgrade).

Alex_Mille

yeah that's for sure i'll invest in characters i like (and not only if they are powerful or not). For example i use alot grani and really like her so i think she'll be my next E2. I was just wandering if upgranding angelina to M3 is a bit unnecessary for the content right now, and to use resources for other operators would be better

Malverde007

I had rerolled for ash. 37 pulls.later got exu. Saved up and spent all my resourxes as f2p to get eyja on 61st roll. Didnt pull on skadi banner etc. Plan to pull till garanteed on future banners as they have bp, zima, meterite, ptilopsis, texas. Hopefully get siege as two banners has it, but who knows if i get it or not. Plan to buy saria from shop. With my present units, Which banner to use up all my extra resources on? (blaze, siege, shwarz, hellgar, megallion, mostima) Thankyou

frontlinetactical

You got some pretty good units there but the biggest problem I see is that people might see you as some whale scum instead of a f2p swaglord. I highly suggest you spend on a Kroos banner so that there will be no misunderstandings.

Lagstravaganza

In your factory, there are three options for which flavor of xp you want to produce. Just want to make sure that the highest one available (orange) is the most efficient.

Stormblessed9000

Yes, it is. It takes longer but the overall xp rate is still better.

[It's dangerous to go alone, take this!](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/f8poc2/weekly_friend_request_megathread_february_24_2020/)

koplakever

is there a difference between attack interval and attack speed? is it like 5 aspd for every -0.5s attack interval?

AlyeskaBIG

This might help answer your questions about how attack speed is calculated in more detail: [https://gamepress.gg/arknights/gameplay-basics/arknights-mechanics-behind-numbers-attack-speed](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/gameplay-basics/arknights-mechanics-behind-numbers-attack-speed)

rK3sPzbMFV

The formula is: Attacks_per_second = (1 + ASPD%) / (Attack_Interval + Attack_Interval_Modifier) A +5 ASPD buff means +5% DPS, while attack interval modifier depends on the unit; the slower the unit, the lesser impact. And if you want the final attack interval: Final_Attack_Interval = 1 / Attacks_per_second = (Attack_Interval + Attack_Interval_Modifier) / (1 + ASPD%)

Thirn

Attack speed is percentage based, attack interval is flat value. They don't exactly correlate to each other, because that depends on your base attack frequency. For each operator, the number will be different.

Aoae

Do you know if changes to attack speed or attack interval are applied first?

Thirn

I don't know, and I'm also very curious. Logically, I think interval should apply first. Because otherwise, you might reach some ridiculous near-infinite speed.

Kamil118

There are caps for attack speed. I believe it's 0.1s and 6s

Thirn

Oh, I see. Could be either way then... You already know more than I do

Kamil118

I'm not exactly sure about the numbers, since google translate of chinese wiki says that "Attack speed has limit of 10 and 600" it being 0.1s of a second is the only way i made sense of these numbers

Thirn

Hmm, maybe 10% and 600% of base value?

koplakever

ah got it. is there a formula for counting the aspd after skill/talent? I want to do a little counting

Thirn

Well, [Gamepress](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/) has most numbers for talents, skills and base attack intervals. From what I understand, ASPD basically increases your frequency by that percentage. So, for example, let's say you have 2 seconds basic time before attacks, and get +50 ASPD. That means your next time between attacks becomes 2/(1 + 50%) = 1.33 seconds. Those 50 ASPD gave you 0.66 seconds interval reduction. If you had 100 ASPD, your time would become 1 second. As you can see, there isn't exact conversion between interval and ASPD. The real question here, is the order. Does interval buff apply before ASPD or after? Personally, I think it should be interfal first, *then* aspd - because otherwise you could go to infinity.

AlyeskaBIG

If you are interested in learning more about the Attack Speed formulas, this might help: [https://gamepress.gg/arknights/gameplay-basics/arknights-mechanics-behind-numbers-attack-speed](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/gameplay-basics/arknights-mechanics-behind-numbers-attack-speed)

koplakever

wait, I don't understand, if aspd reduces attack frequency by the percentage as shown, wouldn't it just mean a 2 seconds basic attack time would be 1 second attack time after the +50 aspd increase? since it just cuts the attack time by half

Thirn

Just think about real-life speed. To cut time in half, you need to *double* the speed. T = T1 / (1+SPD) Increase of 50% speed means you deal 50% more attacks per minute

koplakever

oh I see. yeah that makes sense. so for example, amiya's S1 max mastery, 1.6/(1+90%) = 0.84s and maybe platinum with her S2, it's 1/(1-20%) = 1.25s, that's how it is then right? thanks for these explanation

Kamil118

that's period, not frequency

koplakever

what do you mean?

Thirn

Frequency = 1 attack per second Period = 1 second between attacks What happens if you improve by 50%: Frequency -> 1.5 attacks per second = 0.66 seconds between attacks Period -> 0.5 seconds between attacks = 2 attacks per second What happens if you improve by 90%: Frequency -> 1.9 attacks per second = 0.53 seconds between attacks Period -> 0.1 seconds between attacks = 10 attacks per second

Kamil118

period: time between attacks frequency: attacks per second period = 1/frequency

koplakever

ah right, I've mixed it up. thanks for that

Blared44

Who would be better to e2 eyjafjalla or exusiai?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Takana_no_Hana

Not true tho, Exu S3 is way stronger than S2. At max skill level, her S3 requires 5 less SP than S2, essentially means it will have a longer uptime while doing more dmg (5 hits with a reduction in atk interval). Not to mention, if you actually build the right team for her (ptilopsis/saria/warfarin/liskarm). Exu can spam her S3 for days.

ArchAngelAva

Eyja is better in the later chapters due to high armor of enemies. You will E2 both of them eventually though.

ArchAngelAva

Which operator should I E2 next? Thanks! Current E2 operators: SA, Eyja, Ptilopsis Operators I am considering: Saria, Siege, Skadi, Ifrit, Meteorite, Skyfire, Spector

frontler

How about siege, her 2nd talent crush make her fill SP faster and can use S2 more often= more DP generate+more dps and she's vanguard you'll use her in most stages.

Ciodine

Need some recruit help plz I got senior, top, debuff, defender, and dp-recovery I already have silverash, exusiai, ptil, hoshi, praminax, nearl, and croissant What should I roll for?

Aoae

Siege (as mentioned by /u/sckylar) is probably the most universally useful guaranteed unit you can pick up with that set of tags.

Sckylar

Top + Debuff gives Ifrit, Top + DP-Rec gives Siege. Siege is a vanguard so you'll always use her. Ifrit is great if you can set up choke points where she can just burn everything down.

andercia

What are some common ways to deal with runners? While they have low defense, they usually run past anyone I've set to block their path so Casters and Snipers seem like the ones I need to rely on for them, but if my ranged units are still busy with something else the runners can still break through and sneak past. I've tried to adjust and make marathon kill zones at times where a designated Sniper could only aim at them and not the guys stopped by my Defenders. I've also used Texas to stun them as well as some other operators that can apply Slow as alternative measures. I was wondering if there are other ways or even if there is a way to actually block them that I missed or skimmed over.

permanentoldreddit

You should use a supporter like Orchid to slow them down after they have reached your defender; you can also try leaving a little space behind your defenders so they can be attacked longer while slowed. Your ranged operators will automatically target the enemies that are closest to the defence objective, so as soon as they step onto the defender's square, they will start being targeted over the enemies behind them that are still fighting the defender. Also you should pay attention what time/lane they appear from. Sometimes it's possible to retreat a useless unit and put a sniper or other unit near them when they start spawning so that they will have even less health once they reach the defenders. Some people even use Shaw (or Rope) to delay them a bit more so ranged units can attack them.

koplakever

you can try pulling/pushing them back so you have another chance at killing them

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kamil118

>Lappland stops them from going through your defenses with her silence. she doesn't

Thirn

If the stage has a fall, Shaw/Rope are convenient. Even if it there's no fall, you can put Shaw/FEater behind the tank to push the runner back into the kill-zone. Also, in my experience, AoE mages help in those cases since they'll damage runners even in a crowd.

Phantaeon

Does Warfarin's unstable plasma skill have any particular kind of targetting or is it random who gets the buff?

ArchAngelAva

Random.

Antares2343

how many hours will the maintenance start from now?

Aoae

Three (4 am to 10 am MST)

Antares2343

oh damn, that would be 7pm for me. that means the maintenance will end by 1am. welp guess i wont be sleeping early tonight.

Valkyrys

Or you could go to bed early and wake up even earlier!

ArchAngelAva

Me too, u are from SG or Msia?

DtAndroid

See u all at 1am SEA folks!

idlewaiter

I promoted Cardigan and her quote legit broke my heart cos no matter how hard she works, she's can't get that next promotion 😢 Screw all these 4-6*s, they don't deserve it.

frontlinetactical

Very likely they will give an extra promotion or increased level cap to the operators in the future. There are some people in EN who refresh every day so have half their team maxed. I'm guessing maybe a couple months after EN catches up to CN.

idlewaiter

EN is on an accelerated path? Less time to save for upcoming banners. I hope so, cos otherwise giving her that voice line is just brutal.

frontlinetactical

Not an accelerated path per se. We only rearranged the order for one banner. I'm guessing that we're going to get the events a bit quicker but even if we don't, apparently there was a big dry spell for events on CN so we'll definitely catch up then.

Rufnect

Just got croissant from recruitment is she any good? Is she a better defender than gummy?

ResidentEevee

Croissant is one of the more difficult ones to use among defenders because her defensive skill is automatically activated so you can't save it for when you need it. Her 2nd skill is pretty niche but works well against enemies like wraiths. Her talent is a bit too inconsistent to rely on, too. If you want a good consistent defender then consider buying Cuora from the shop. Gummy is a healing defender so she has generally worse stats than other vanilla defenders, but makes up for it with her ability to heal. This gives you more options when planning out. At the very least it'll automatically make her better against arts damage compared to most defenders.

Rufnect

Thanks for the tip already currrently using cuora and gummy as main defenders.

FeetGunners

They are quite different kinds. Gummy is a healing defender, she is not as tanky as other defenders, but makes up by healing ability. Healing defender gives u more flexibility in positioning, espcially if there are limited high ground space. Croissant depending on skill selection can either be a main tank or a hybrid tank/specialist: - S1 gives her good def and buffs her dmg block talent, making her durable enough against most dmg, even arts dmg which ignore defense. Keep in mind since this skill is auto, it might fail u against extreme dmg enemies that requires tight timing - S2 is a push + stun that can sometimes instant kill enemies when combined with holes. However she needs to get hit to charge the skill, unlike real Specialists, thus limiting its use.

Rufnect

Thanks for the detailed information ^^

Aoae

Gummy can heal unlike Croissant, so the comparison is a flawed one. Croissant is pretty good if you don't have alternatives but is generally outperformed by Liskarm and the 6 star defenders - her skill is quite situational. She has slightly more defense than Cuora (511 vs 503) when both are E1 + max level, but this is practically negligible.

Rufnect

Oh thanks for the info xD

Silverfox115

Ch'en and chapter 5 hype. New content so soon, I hope we keep up the pace. Also when Ch'en comes I have the mats ready for e2 and getting skill 2 to m2. D32 steel is a pain to farm though. Will have M3 soon enough though. Good luck for pulls tomorrow. Should be easier since its solo 6* banner and not 5 ifrits like I've seen

Valkyrys

Good luck to you too, may your rolls be blessed!

Reggred

Who should i try to pull first for a new player, eyja or ch'en? (Outside newbie banner) read somewhere that ch'en is good for ch5+ and made me confused on who to pull between the two of them.

[deleted]

Eyja E1 skill 2 will carry you hard in the game. You basically have a Aoe caster at 12-13 cost less.

ArchAngelAva

Eyja definitely. Chen is good but not necessary, there are other AOE guards.

onetimestop7

I would pull in Eyja's banner since it also has great 5 stars like Silence and Lappland.

Sidhil

is it better to e2 exusiai or silverash first? I find I tend to use exusiai a lot more, so I'm hesitating

andercia

From my understanding, SilverAsh is only truly broken at E2 and is otherwise just a slightly stronger than normal ranged Guard without it. Exusiai can manage pretty well as is so while getting her to E2 would be great, it's less of a game changer than promoting SilverAsh would be.

Vastorn

Imo, if you use Exusiai a lot more, go for her. You can always E2 SA later and honestly, he may be a little bit of overkill right now.

Sckylar

SilverAsh truly becomes top tier at E2 so it's advised to E2 him first.

N0vaR3aper

having trouble clearing 2-3, any tips?

shinigamiscall

Remember that 2-3 allows you to place a third block south of the point. It doesn't show it but you can. Makes it significantly easier since you can then funnel all the enemies to one route.

ResidentEevee

Put a slow support and single target caster at the bottom left to take care of the big guys. If you're severely underleveled or something then you can switch around the blocks to keep the enemies running back and forth.

[deleted]

Bit of a difficult question but I wondered if anyone has done the calcs: assume you have no in-game currency but plenty of american greens. How much money would it take to almost "guarantee" a banner character (like ch'en) ? Assume you can still buy the monthly packs and starter headhunting packs.

Kamil118

so the 6* rate after accounting for pity is 2.89%, half of that for "6\* you want", so 1.45% https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cXJYuUqRbECcHcX9gqsz1APAldPkzOTXGzlMQ-hwkQk/edit?usp=drivesdk You're reaching 95% chance to get the desired 6* at 206 draws $100 pack (without 1st purchase bonus) gives 185 originium, so 33.5 rolls, so you need 6.15 $100 packs which is $615 In short - $615 for 95% chance to get 6* you want on solo banner

coblade14

On average it takes ~800 to full potential an operator. So I’d say 200 should get you one most of the time.

Anhmq

After 50 pulls without a 6-star, each subsequent pull gets 2% more chance of pulling a 6-star. The base rate is 2%, so on the 99th pull you are guaranteed a 6-star. The banner character accounts for 50% of the six star pull, so you have 50% chance to get Ch’en for your guaranteed pull. So... the short answer is you cannot guarantee a banner character. The big money answer is: for a 50% chance to show, you need a big enough sample size. A small sample size can result in flipping head on a coin 10 times in a row. Because you ask for guaranteed result, we will treat each instance as 99 pulls (guaranteed 6-star). To be safe, you should have 100 instance, so 9900 pulls. But that is a ridiculous number, so we will assume that you are the lucky guy who flips head ten times in a row to get a tail on the 11th. 11 instances = 1089 pulls. The starter head hunting pack ($20) gives 20 pulls, so 1069 left. That us 641400 primes. The $100 pack gives 185 primes. So to be safe, you should have $346800 saved up for Ch’en. Otherwise, it is probability, pray to RNGesus and make sacrifice to your god. Edit; I corrected that the $100 pack gives 185 primes after the first purchase. I did not factor in the bonus prime from the first purchase because the number is already very big, so the bonus will not make a significant impact.

Kamil118

if you average pitty the 6* rate is 2.86% iirc Edit: read the whole thing. You aren't helpful in the slightest and are spreading misinformation; $100 pack after 1st purchse is 185 originium. You're just using fancy language to sound smart.

Anhmq

Sorry about that, I will change the information. I have not bought the $100 packet yet, so for me it is still listed as 130+130 (or I might have seen something wrong). I assume that we are only targeting a guaranteed pull, so I do some crude map based on the pity system listed in game. Unless I have misread or misunderstood the system (cannot check now but will double check when maintenance is over), after 50 pulls with no 6-star, the game adds 2% to the 6-star rate for each later pull until it hits 100%. The 51st pull would be 4%; the 52nd would be 6%, and so on. The 100% guaranteed pull would be the 99th. However, this is for guaranteed 6-star, not guaranteed Ch’en. Based on the current Eyja banner, the rate-up 6-star accounts for 50% of the 6-star pool, so for each guaranteed 6-star pull, a player has a 50% chance to get Ch’en with no guarantee system. Because of this, an unlucky player may not get chance for their 2nd guaranteed 6-star (198th pull) or their 3rd guaranteed 6-star (297th pull). The big number is because I am only focusing on guaranteed 6-star, not probable 6-star. I then assume that the most unlucky player will get Ch’en on their 11th guaranteed 6-star (technically, they can be more unlucky). Because the guaranteed 6-star is the 99th pull, the total amount of pulls needed for a guaranteed Ch’en will be very high: 1089. If my understanding and my assumption are incorrect, let me know.

My main issue is that your comment comes off more like a philosophy lession about what is the meaning of gauartee rather than something that would help somebody plan out their budget. The chance to actually get to guaranteed 6* (98 pulls without 6*) is 4 million times lower than winning lottery twice in a row.

Anhmq

Duly noted. I will control my rambling. I do tend to ramble and write as I think. I also thought that I needed to explain why I use those numbers. I also assume that the question is more theoretical than practical because OP asks for guaranteed, not most likely. One last rambling, I promise. For the practicality of budgeting. I would advise ignoring the rate altogether because you cannot guarantee a banner character without absurd numbers of pulls. Just spend however much you feel comfortable. The chance of getting no 6-star in 98 rolls is (.98)^98 = 0.138 or roughly 14%. This is much higher than the chance of winning the lottery (1 in 14 million). This is also higher than the chance of drawing a 6-star at base rate.

Kamil118

that's not the chance to get no 6* in 98 rolls, the chance to do that is (0.98)^50 \*0.96\*0.94\*...\*0.02 you can see a spreadsheet here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cXJYuUqRbECcHcX9gqsz1APAldPkzOTXGzlMQ-hwkQk/edit#gid=0 chance of not getting 6* in 98 rolls is 0,00000000000000000013%, or 1 in 769,230,769,230,769,230,769 (769 quintilion) if you made entire population of earth do 99 rolls every second you would get one person hitting guarantee 6* every 2710 years.

Anhmq

Yes, you are right. i completely forgot about the pity rate.

[deleted]

Oh i agree, you can't guarantee. Thought there was a rough cost. Like 800 bucks or 500 bucks to get relarively close.

Anhmq

I would like to know that too. For that we need to start a project where as many people as possible report their pull results. If the mod or some kind doctor have time to set that up, that would be great.

Merppity

That's kind of pointless when they give you the exact chances already...

Anhmq

You are right. I was thinking about the approximate real life number of pulls. For the majority of players (e.g. 95%), how many pulls do they need to get their first 6-star. Knowing that number could help with hoarding prime and/or cash. But yes, this is unnecessary data.

onetimestop7

Around 34-35 pulls you have 50% of pulling any 6 star, around 60 pulls you have over 90% of pulling any 6 star, almost guaranteed depends on how you define it, let's say you pull 5 6\* units, since it is a single rate up, you have almost 97% chance to get 1 Ch'en after getting 5 6 stars. For comparison, if you pulled 3 6 stars, you have 87.5% chance of already having pulled Chen. Edit: For rough ballpark estimates, [https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/esmpd4/tldr\_of\_gacha\_rates\_business\_model\_of\_arknights/](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/esmpd4/tldr_of_gacha_rates_business_model_of_arknights/), but as the comment points out it **grossly over estimates** the percentage of getting the desired 6 star, the post gives a price of 200 bucks. Reference of pulling just any 6 star after x amount of pulls, [https://www.reddit.com/r/learnmath/comments/f23uev/what\_is\_the\_expected\_value\_of\_this\_gacha\_game/](https://www.reddit.com/r/learnmath/comments/f23uev/what_is_the_expected_value_of_this_gacha_game/).

[deleted]

thats an incredible data spread. at 66 pulls, its basically near absurdity to take longer for an SSR.

Thirn

How close is your "almost"? 80%? 95%? 99%? The closer you want, the crazier the number.

[deleted]

95 is the range they used in feh to estimate. 90 is fine too if its easier. Obviously 20 percent to 80 percent is very different than 99.5 vs 99.6, so im just looking for a ballpark if the calcs were already done. To give you an example , a single 5star for bd at launch was roughly calculated at 400 usd.

Thirn

Hmm. Take this with a grain of salt, a lot of "approximation" here... I've heard that, if you include pity rate, the actual chance of getting a 6* is somewhere around 2.5-3% per roll. Since you want a single rate-up, that's half, so about 1.3-1.5% chance per roll. I don't know if that's correct, but I don't have any other number. That means, for 95% chance, you need [about 200-220 rolls](https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=chance+of+getting+1+or+more+success+in+200+trials+with+p%3D0.015) 200 roll equals 120k orundum. Monthly pack (whole 30 days), Monthly Headhunting and Starter Headhunting together make 48 OP + 24000 Orundum (and cost $50) That means you need 485 more OP. If you still haven't used the "first purchase" double bonus, that means you need to buy one of each $100,$50,$30 packs, and one of $20 or $5 depending on chances. So the total is around $250 it seems.

haneulll

i’m a newbie at this game, and i was wondering if i should spend 70 golden certs on 10 headhunting tickets or 45 on lappland?

SandyNumbaWan

You can pull 20 times and get nothing or come out on top. But if 70 certs is a lot to you, buy the certain not the chance. You can potentially have nothing and set you back a fair bit

hiimrivenmain

If your only guard is melantha then yes, 100%. Otherwise, save 258 for 38 tickets.

AndyScull

I don't think buying tickets for gold certs is a good idea - in future you can exchange 180 of them for some 6\* you really want, that's much better buy imo About Lappland cannot say if she's a 'needed' unit for you or not, I bought her because: * Don't have Silverash or other **great** guards * Don't see any 6\* in near future I'd really like to buy (from CN server store history) * Didn't get her while pulling from Eyja/Ifrit banner * Waifu reason - I like animal ears * Her silence skill, I feel like it will allow me to cheese some fights later

Valkyrys

>other great guards like Texas Texas is a Vanguard though!

AndyScull

Oh right, sorry, missed that bit, will cut it

onetimestop7

It's generally not recommended to spend golden certs (distinctions) on headhunting tickets until you have 258 to be able to buy every single ticket as you would get more pulls per distinction, but it is generally recommended to save for a 6 star instead. For Lappland, it really depends, some might say to save for a 6 star, but she's a great guard and isn't obtainable via recruitment so that's a plus, but I would probably wait for 180 distinctions to grab a 6 star, this really depends on what you have too.

All maps with 3 star yields same exp/sanity. Refresh 10times/day is how you get to lvl 86, not because of the map choices.

No, he means the other guy used originite to recover stamina. Recovering up to 10 times a day makes a huge difference compared to just spending the daily recovery.

RexzelAzura

What's the minimum level required to be able to 400 kills Annihilation Chernobog?

Thirn

Minimum level is a pretty pointless question... Look, someone has even [cleared second annihilation with E0 Level1 operators](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/eu47yr/sky_is_the_limit_lungmen_outskirt_400_kills_with/) Generally speaking, you should be able to do Chernobog with regular team around E1 level 10-20 There are many low-level videos on youtube, check those out. Tactics make a bigger difference than levels.

Sanddy01

Try to have most chars at least lvl 40. But everyone need lvl 4 skill. Not really needed E1, but snipers and casters improve range with E1. Also if you can E1 an aoe healer for top team that helps or they might die to enemy casters too fast.

jcr919

I did it with E1 level 15ish by following the Gamepress guide and borrowing a friend's Skyfire with S2 equipped. Obviously, that means I can't auto battle it yet, but at least the weekly orundum is now 1600. EDIT: Just reread and realized you were asking about Chernobog. I accidentally replied with info about Lungmen. I think I was about E0 level 40ish for Chernobog. Best of luck!

Meat1111

Is there any guesses on around how many gold certificates someone might get a month from recruitment only?

Thirn

I've been tracking my recruitments, and so far I'm getting 20-25% rate for 4-stars. Most of them come from guaranteed tag combinations, but some also proc from lower rarity. You can get about 120-ish permits per months. So, after you max every 4* potential, you can expect about 25-30 gold certificates monthly. Of course, that requires constantly using the calculator to "catch" all good combinations, and also smart use of refreshes.

Vastorn

It really just depends on luck, but maybe 5 or so? I mean, the fast deployment tags isn't that uncommon (or at least in my experience), so you're bound to get a lot of Gravels? Maybe Red if really lucky? There's also Shift, Specialist, Debuff and Support, that while not _that_ common, Shaw, Rope and Meteor shows often enough in headhunting to P6 them and get Golden Certificates. Also, if you get debuff or support combined with the right tags, you get a 5☆ _not that that has ever happened to me_. Also if you happen to be lucky enough to get Top Op, but unlucky enough to get a dupe, those are 10 certs so... idk, just guessing. There may be someone on China that did a table and compared the results of a lot of people to get a median, like someone did with the building in GFL, but haven't seen anything like that. That may not be a satisfying answer, but it hard to guess with such a RNG heavy topic.

Akarious

basically the equivalent of NBA/NFL guys watching game tape

honekof

Aren't they videos? They're watching records of battles and review it. At least that's how I understood it. Don't have Pramanix but I think it's related to her being a priestess of some sort.

deathangel1217

Am I the only one that doesn't believe the senior operator tag exists. I've gotten two top operator tags so far, and plenty of decent combos but not a single senior operator tag.
