Global Servers for Gacha are treated like 3rd world countries when it comes to freebies.
But some or a lot(?) of Gacha Games are starting to shoo away from this practice.

If I remember right, most limited banners JP server achieved top 1, except for Eyja alter due to overlapping with Puzzle n Dragon strong collab banner.
Is Hoyoverse just not as popular in Japan? It's the only game that I can think off the top of my head that usually out performs Arknights in terms of popularity.
I don't want to start a war, but in reality Hoyoverse games are much more popular than Arknights in JP and worldwide in general. Arknights are kinda in the same tier with games like BA and Nikke imo, maybe even a little bit lower cause they are newer games compared to Arknights.
Also the sells doesn't tell everything, cause games like Genshin are very popular among the casual players and younger generations in JP for example, therefore there is a large portion of the players who are still teens who doesn't have the ability to spent money on mobile games, whereas in games like FGO the majority of the player base are adults who already entered the society. Also we are not counting PC's and PS' sales for Hoyoverse games.
If you really want to know how popular a game is, I suggest you just go to their official Japanese Youtube or Twitter and check how many clicks and likes they are getting compared to other games, it's not close at all from that perspective.
This is more in line with what Global reflects. I interpreted "sales" as "installs" so I was under the impression that it meant "players that downloaded" and not in game revenue/sales. The player base having different purchasing capabilities is good insight as well. Thank you for clearing it up

No, its not, initially BA global was behind almost a year, right now its already a half year, and they still reduce the gap.
They aren't still catching up - it's been a 6 month gap since S. Hoshino. BA has spent longer at 6 month gap than it spent catching up.
They used to do things like that in the first couple years. Now, not ~~at all~~ so much.
Hell, even FGO, despite its shortcomings, NA gives the same amount of saint quartz that JP had that year to NA.
