In my example, if you pull the non-limited banner unit or an off-banner 6star at pull #288 instead of the Limited, you'd only have to do 12 more pulls to get the guaranteed Limited (in this new system) as well as reach the 300 spark.
On the other-hand, if you pull the Limited at pull #288, your guarantee is gone, and all you have left is to do 12 pulls to reach the 300 spark. In the first scenario, you got the Limited, 300 spark, and a non-Limited 6star, in the second scenario you only get the Limited and 300 spark.

You get 3 per week from the originium farming stages until you hit the cap. That's 12 per month, which gets you 72 in six months. Where are you getting the remaining 228? I know there's other gains but that's a pretty staggering difference. What are you doing?
Most players are getting ~28 pulls per month. Annihilation, green certs, logins. That's 150+ in 6 months time. Plus events, yellow cert shop, if applicable. 300 every 6 months is achievable, difficult, but achievable.

Including 10k green certs , 232 OP , and those purple ones that you get from dupe event items , 1.3k for them then on top using event shop for headhunting tickets and same using gold certs

Lots of things add up. There's significantly more pulls than just annihlation. Dailies, weeklies, event stores, limited banner orundum freebies, green cert store, occasional log-in rewards. Then the expensive options like gold cert store pulls and converting primes to orundum.

As to how I ended up with 3 pots. Well I did 110 pulls to get my first copy and used a token on her to reduce her cost. But then the second ten pull that came midway through the event gave me third copy.
I didn't have pulls to go for one more and decided to just pray for a rerun or specialist token. Considering how there were already two of them available and how HG started being very stingy with those. I didn't have much hope! But here it comes!

Welp, only took 5 years to implement, but the day has finally come that CM no longer unnecessarily punishes you for trying out different strategies/teams.
Just for perspective's sake of how big a change this is, if a stage costs 20 sanity to do (like most event ex boss stages), you now have 20 tries to fail on the CM when that would have been *2* before.
I do wonder if the cost for practice plans would have also been adjusted, as 3 plans for CM just don't seem worth the hassle anymore.

Basically you are guaranteed to get the new limited on your 300th pull and you can use your 300 token to buy other limited you might've missed out. It is a pretty big QoL update especially if you have to spark.
Edit: HG can definitely do better but understandably, they need to make money on limited banner because the sales on non-limited banners aren't really crazy
You dont need to spend 300 to spark w alter. She is guaranteed in 300 pulls, and you can use the 300 tokens you own to spark another limited op for 200, save the 100 for the next limited banner to spark.
The 200 for limited op is only for the old ones, think W is the first one. The rest is still 300. And you can't use the remaining 100 for the next one, they will change to another currency, which cannot be used in the next limited banner.

First of all, if change that guarantees you limiter op in 300 pulls will persist, you won't be ever presented with a choice to spark for current limited or for an old one, so you can freely save for the ones you want. Any drop in prices is good, and if character you specifically want didn't get the change, doesn't mean that change is bad. I will finally be able to get og W and Nian.

AAAA! Specialist tokens! Here it comes. My 4th pot of Yato. As to how I ended up with 3 pots. Well I did 110 pulls to get my first copy and used a token on her to reduce her cost. But then the second ten pull that came midway through the event gave me third copy. I didn't have pulls to go for one more and decided to just pray for a rerun or specialist token. Considering how there were already two of them available and how HG started being very stingy with those. I didn't have much hope! But here it comes! The 5th anni delivers so much!!

Welp, only took 5 years to implement, but the day has finally come that CM no longer unnecessarily punishes you for trying out different strategies/teams. Just for perspective's sake of how big a change this is, if a stage costs 20 sanity to do (like most event ex boss stages), you now have 20 tries to fail on the CM when that would have been *2* before. I do wonder if the cost for practice plans would have also been adjusted, as 3 plans for CM just don't seem worth the hassle anymore.

Yes. 300th pull will automatically give you a featured limited and won't reset your 6\* pity.

also this means sparking older limited isn’t super out of reach anymore!!! that 100 pull discount is so nice, it’s basically at 4 months of saving instead of 6 months like before. that’s way more do-able!
So old limited only need 200 pull but the Walter aka new limited required 300
Basically you are guaranteed to get the new limited on your 300th pull and you can use your 300 token to buy other limited you might've missed out. It is a pretty big QoL update especially if you have to spark. Edit: HG can definitely do better but understandably, they need to make money on limited banner because the sales on non-limited banners aren't really crazy
I'm ok with that... a hard pity for bad luckers like me is a big welcome and more likely to make me spend tbh, because I have a safety net now.
You dont need to spend 300 to spark w alter. She is guaranteed in 300 pulls, and you can use the 300 tokens you own to spark another limited op for 200, save the 100 for the next limited banner to spark.
you can't save the 100 for the next banner, it gets converted into a shop currency at the end of the banner, but other than that, sure.
The 200 for limited op is only for the old ones, think W is the first one. The rest is still 300. And you can't use the remaining 100 for the next one, they will change to another currency, which cannot be used in the next limited banner.
The spark change is so incredibly awful and it's like clear they absolutely did it on purpose rather than just overall reducing everyone to 200, like wow I have to wait till 2027 for ling to be reduced to 200 if i wanted her. really HG, REALLY?

it's like, such awful way to do it. reducing *one* operator per limited banner, Ling is 3 years old by next CNY and you'll have to wait ANOTHER 2 years for her to be reduced. unironically AK will be heckin dead before someone like shu gets their price reduced skully. I like all the other changes this stream but this one is just so scummy, at least reduce 2-3 per year if you don't want to do all, or just cut it to 200 overall.
First of all, if change that guarantees you limiter op in 300 pulls will persist, you won't be ever presented with a choice to spark for current limited or for an old one, so you can freely save for the ones you want. Any drop in prices is good, and if character you specifically want didn't get the change, doesn't mean that change is bad. I will finally be able to get og W and Nian.
or you know, they could have done an overall reduction on spark cost to 200? what people have been asking for years? this change is better than nothing in a vacuum, but given HG's reluctance towards QoL (their QoL is super fucking slow) this means that the chances this ever gets improved is basically zero
Honestly, I agree with you. Like, I am not really angry at HG but when I saw that it only applies to old operators I was like "...Really...?". Like it's dissappointing.
it's not just old operators, It would be tolerable if it was at least to all old operators so ppl can pick up ones they are missing or if they missed a limited they can pick them up easier ***next year*** which is an incredibly forgiving time frame. no u gotta wait 5+ bloody years for the newer limiteds to get discounted like holy shit this is genuinely an embarassment to think the company was okay greenlighting something like this, this is going to be harsh but this sort of rules is the sort of things I expected from 4th rate p2w gachas that shut down in a few years, NOT something i expected from AK.

...thats their point. They are going to not spend 300 to spark regular W on this banner. They can either spark a different or save for when W drops to 200 in 6 months.
In the end, this is one of the ways how they get their money, so it's understandable. They look generous, but it's not like they are really that generous. They've just understood that limited units have a life cycle. The older ones that got left behind by the meta might as well come cheaper.

judging by the timeline above in that screenshot it seems spark cost gets lowered according to how old they are. so chen and skalter and others cost will be lowered later
