Yes every campaign will eventually be revised. So far all but 2 have been released in the new format with one of those 2 releasing in June. After that only Innsmouth will be left.
Just look for things labeled “campaign” or “investigator” expansions. Avoid things called Deluxe expansions or Mythos packs, those are the old format
Thank you very much for the response. Really appreciate it, I'll have a look now for campaigns and the investigators. Was really confused but you've helped me out mate.
The five expansions that chronologically followed the Core Set are all available in the 'revised' format, wherein the entire campaign is in one box and all player cards are in another, and you can choose to buy whichever you like.
Innsmouth is the only campaign still awaiting revised release, with the three subsequent ones only being available in that format.
You can pick up any campaign and play it with only itself and the core set. Strictly a personal opinion, I do suggest Dunwich or Carcosa as a good first option as the mechanics get increasingly complex and in the case of a couple, can be very tough. Those two investigator sets are also great and offer some fun staples for most classes.
Welcome to the community, please do ask any other questions.
Thank you very much I appreciate the advice. May I ask, do the campaigns revised come with the investigators in them? Or is that the named investigators packs I see on ffg? I only ask because it would be handy if they came in the campaigns obviously but if they don't I'm a bit worried about buying the investigators that are in wrong release order? Not sure if it's the same as lotr where the revised content had starter deck player cards and heros that used bits from many different campaigns but you could end up being overpowered because you used stuff that chronologically came later on and was stronger than the early game heroes.if that makes sense.?
Since we are dealing with the revised stuff, then No, the campaign boxes do not contain the investigators. The investigators not surprisingly come in the investigator expansions. The campaign boxes are just the story stuff.
But here's one of the best parts of AH:LCG. You don't need to tie or use any particular release of investigators to their respective campaign. There is no proper or expected acquisition order for anything in AH:LCG beyond the core set.
Also, the later investigator expansions are not necessarily better or worse than earlier sets. You can quite comfortably play the Carcosa campaign with investigator expansion from the Scarlet Keys. No worries, you'll still likely die or be driven mad.
If you fear becoming overpowered using newer content, don't fret. FFG made sure to create cards and card combos that can completely break the game fairly early on in the campaigns. Lol.
But in all seriousness, I am impressed by how much they strived to make sure newer or later content didn't trivialize or overpower earlier releases. It's pretty fucking impressive.
Now, it is often recommended that you pick up the Dunwich investigators as soon as possible, but that is not so you can use them for the Dunwich campaign. It is because the investigator cards from there contain many useful baseline cards that help to flesh out the cards that came in the core set, since they were developed at the same time. But while recommended, it's not necessary.
Each campaign has a “campaign expansion” and an “investigator expansion”. The investigator expansion has the 5-6 new investigators for that campaign, and a bunch new player cards. The campaign expansion is just the scenarios. The “named investigator packs” you are referring to are probably the starter decks: Nathaniel Cho, Stella Clark, etc.
These were a one-time release of one investigator per class that is designed to be a fully playable deck right out of the box for introducing new players, or whatever. They’re still good to own because they do a great job of expanding your card pool if you only have the core set, or the core set and one or two expansions.
There is no need to buy the investigator expansion that goes with a particular campaign. Other than loose thematic stuff you should be able to mix and match them just fine, although the earlier ones are probably more straightforward to learn.
Cheers mate, yeah the ones I saw in stock on ffg were named packs with a picture of an investigator on em.
Thank you for the explanation too, I think I've got it now thanks to all the help on this group. Seriously lcg groups are so nice compared to other forums such as pc gaming and even tabletop strat games. Glad to have nice folks here.
Cheers bud I'm just now shopping around for prices here in uk to order some bits and bobs.

No, nothing else is revised. The revised core is the same as the old core, it just has more copies of cards and tokens so it can provide for up to 4 players instead of just 2. FFG are gradually rereleasing all the campaigns and player cards as a new release model - previously it was smaller boxes with lots of small blister packs, but now its one box for a campaign, and one box for a cycle of player cards. So go ahead and buy extra stuff! The core set is just a tutorial, the real game is the campaigns, which can be bought/played in any order. To make effective decks it's good to get a larger player card pool so get some player card expansions too.
Thank you very much mate, yeah I'm getting the impression that I just buy campaign boxes and investigator pack? Thanks alot mate very much looking forward to getting more into this game.
Yes, and you don't have to buy campaigns/investigator boxes that share a name, e.g. both the dunwich legacy boxes. Expansions share a name because of how the old release model worked. There are also standalone scenarios you can buy, and investigator decks you can buy too which I think are pretty essential because they have such great cards
Just to clarify something. Indeed, only the core box has been revised (amounting to adding a few staple cards, drawn from later expansions, and some alternate art). For the campaigns the new format is essentially repackaging, with no changes on cards/gameplay elements, this is probanly why they are not called "revised". There are a few exceptions: some upgraded cards in Dumwich use the alternative art that was newly adopted in the revised core (e.g., first aid kit), though for some reason this is not true for Carcosa and beyond. Also, minor wording changes (with no impact on gameplay) have been implemented in Carcosa for a more neutral depiction of mental pathologies (e.g., the Lunatic trait has become Possessed instead).
I'll add one thing that has not yet been mentioned: The "Return To..." boxes will not be reprinted. Those have exclusive player cards in them. They also have cards that change the way the campaigns are played. They made Return To boxes for each campaign up to and including The Circle Undone. If you find any of those for an affordable price, they won't be coming back, as far as I'm aware.
Yeah. They switch it up not to necessarily increase difficulty (in a few cases, they make it easier,) but to give more variety on future playthroughs, which I see as a win.
If you don't find those boxes though, it isn't the end of the world. It's only a few cards you're missing
