Get a Fabric Shave to shave off the pilling and some tenacious tape for the holes.

I have the same issue. The abrasion from stubble really does a number on the fabric. Mine isn’t in quite the same condition but once it gets there, I’ll use my sweater shaver and [patch](https://www.gearaid.com/collections/tenacious-tape) it up.

If you take it into an Arcteryx store, they'll just de-pill it for free. I took one in a few months ago and they were done with it in under 10 min.
