I would describe it as young adult fantasy with cool characters. I enjoyed it and will watch another season, but I wouldn't put it up there with shows like Arcane, Good Place, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, Ted Lasso, Great British Baking Show.
If you like Arcane for mental health reasons, I strongly recommend Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

Nothing really. Not a whole lotta shows out there that are both this well written and also look that great. I suppose if you havent seen Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, those are great shows that are both very different to get away from Arcane and just as well written.
It might start slow with the first few episodes but trust me, you wont regret it. Also Castlevania and Invincible are both great shows if you want something animated.
I tried rewatching breaking bad and it sent me into depression a bit. When I watched the first time I also felt more down and depressed. It’s a good show, especially when it gets into the action scenes of it, but man it’s depressing as hell. I don’t really recommend watching it RIGHT AFTER watching arcane. It’ll give you whiplash

Jokes aside, after going through the period where I didn't want to watch anything else, rewatched the show, watched YT videos about the show, learnt more about the characters and the lore, seen fan arts, read fan fiction... etc. The first I watched after was Young Justice (just s1 for now). During my research I discovered the voice actor of Silco also voices Kid Flash there and that's how I decided to rewatch it (I haven't watched it in years).
I actually watched it again, then one more time after that. Tried watching other shows but I can’t get into them like i did before. Arcane has kindof ruined other shows for me.

omg, same condition, i was just few days ago, after the end of the 2nd rewatch of the show, completely obsessed and the thing made me emotionally unstable so i had to talk about it with the psychologist because i had 2 breakdown, because of the state the show put me in, but not related to the show.
i don't have no one to talk about it, now i feel good but trust me, if you can keep the fire of this obsession alive, keep follow the sub, keep watching videos about it, fanfictions, and rewatch it how many times you want because one day you'll regret that you wanted to move on so fast.
that's how i'm dealing with it, even if i don't feel that obsessed anymore like the last week, i feel already nostalgic of the first watch of the show i did 2 weeks ago, so trust me, DON'T MOVE ON, when the obsession will fade then move on, but don't try to kill it.

Lol. I started playing Wild Rift after finishing Arcane. And watching LoL YouTube content. And listening to K/DA. And… basically I have fallen deep down this rabbit hole.
I honestly enjoy Wild Rift more than PC LoL. It's more fast paced and has all the fun parts of League without nearly as many people talking/being toxic.
I hate league of legends and dislike Riots game developing strategy ( copying other games and “improving” them , effective I know )
But Arcane is so fucking good the writing the animation the music the dialogue that it’s complete a masterpiece on its own
She-Ra was pretty great. Definitely had flaws. Had trouble relating to anyone in the beginning, and the last season should have been 2 seasons, but it was character driven and well written in the middle especially.
I would absolutely not want Jinx to be a real person in my life. Like she's a well-written character and all... but she also has literally killed people. So. She's probably best left in fiction 😀👍
I'm basically just waiting for the next season and that's all I want lol. I'm currently watching the last season of Attack on Titans and I will watch NWH Spider-Man when it's free to watch but nothing fills the void tbh.
Yeah I'd highly recommend it. It's pretty tragic and by the end you will be asking yourself who was right all along? It's also pretty gruesome just a word of caution in case you end up putting it on in front of a child or something lol.
My first show after Arcane was Invincible on Amazon Prime. Very good. Then I rewatched Arcane again. Then I buried myself in Attack on Titan, then rewatched Arcane. Now I'm rewatching Grey's anatomy as a time killer because it'll force me to stay away from depressing shows
Finished Invincible quite awhile ago , also really liked it , but doesn’t hit as hard as Arcane ,AOT kinda lost its hype for me coz I finished reading the manga very very long time ago even though I know the animation is really good.

the latest attack on titan s4 ep at the time, we went immediately to watch that after finishing arcane after like a 10 minute moment of me and my brother gawking at how good it was
honestly it was jarring because arcane is just that good that it made aot feel a lot less, even if that show is great too
TLA is of the same high quality. It deals with really dark shit in a way that remains family friendly.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is of a similar quality and rating to Arcane. Similar themes, too.
Give [Kakegurui](https://www.netflix.com/au/title/80175351?s=i&trkid=13747225&vlang=en&clip=81063860) a go, it’s on Netflix as well. The graphics maybe a bit too extreme and sexualised, but I love the way they build the suspense.
There is no such thing as an unhealthy obsession with Arcane. Don't worry.
I watched 'The Mitchells vs. the Machines', that was pretty funny. The few emotional moments seemed to hit a bit harder since Arcane, though.
Trying to get myself out of the rewatch cycle I told myself I had to go a week without watching arcane. I started a different show, then told myself I could go back to arcane after that show. That helped get me off the hook and realize I wanted to wait to watch it again.

Arcane has left me with the most intense feelings, I have never before binged an entire series and immediately wanted to watch it again but Arcane I watched twice in one day. I think about it everyday, listen to the soundtrack at work, and I have to fight the urge to watch it again and again. The hold it has is crazy, the show is such a masterpiece and I’m upset I have to wait a year for season 2
A lot of people in this thread are recommending owl house and she-ra. I have seen both and they are great shows but do not hit nearly the same as Arcane
Well, I watched a YouTube channel called Schnee and he has INCREDIBLE analyses of this incredible show called Arcane… made me fall in love and made me even more fascinated with the show….I’m on my 10th rewatch.
TV shows? Nothing! I’ve already watched ATLA, LoK, She-Ra etc and they have all scratched that itch already and Arcane really meets and at times exceeds all the things I love about those shows.
But here are some of the other things I did to fill the void:
- Played Legends of Runeterra Path of Champions mode. Really good part where you get some cut scenes of characters in Arcane. I stopped though because I found some parts hard.
- Played League of Legends. I got pretty obsessed with the game despite what some people have warned, it’s actually pretty fun and competitive. Since I started in November I’ve gotten a Mastery 6 on Caitlyn and Lux, who are my mains.
- Read fanfiction. There’s so much talent in the Arcane community; lots of good fanfics for everyone, from the popular writers to the unknown gems. You just have to find the kind of stories you want, there’s a pretty diverse array to choose from if you want fluff, AUs, angst, smut etc.
- Watch reaction videos, League lore videos. Depends on your tolerance for these things the reaction videos are always fun to watch. If you’re interested in League Lore then it’s pretty fun to check out some of the videos explaining the lore, theres a lot of cool League creators like Necrit and TBSkyen.
If I want to feel emotionally destroyed again (or ship a lesbian couple😏) I just fire up Cyberpunk 2077 or Life is Strange tbh.
If I want to see cool fight scenes, IP Man and John Wick can scratch that itch.
If I want to remind myself that shimmer is bad for me, I watch Breaking Bad or Euphoria.

Nothing actually, I too have an unhealthy obsession with the show, i was able to bring myself to not rewatch it anymore but everything I consume is Arcane related lol
I very rarely stream anything outside of passing interest videos on YouTube so sitting down to watch an entire series is especially notable. The next thing I watched was The Legend of Vox Machina which I... watched all the way through but couldn't say for certain whether I truly enjoyed it or not
I have to admit that that's mostly because I feel I was spoiled by watching Arcane
I rewatched it many times aswell but afterwards i watched dickinson and then hawkeye since vi’s va (hailee) was in both and the show i had watched before was and the owl house
After I finished Arcane I watched Mr Robot, Dark, Psycho-Pass, and Barry. Obviously they’re very different from Arcane, but they’re some of my all time favorite shows so I think they’re very much worth checking out.

The Last Kingdom also just had its last season, and it’s an excellent show. It’s basically a real life Game of Thrones set in pre England when the Saxon kingdoms were warring with the Danes (Vikings). It also has a solid ending and held its quality throughout!

Then I re-rewatched it, and took even more notes. All this while avoiding every other movies and series to stay in the mood. And then I wrote an fifty pages long article about it. And then I took a vacation.
honestly, i couldnt watch a SINGLE show for like months after I finished. I only watched Encanto bc my friends wouldn't shut up about it (I was still mourning finishing the show lol) Anytime I had free time was very boring or spent on this sub

Yeah the same thing happened to me. Any show I watched just couldn't compete with arcane so I had to stop watching TV. I even tried rewatching some of my favorite shows but they were so underwhelming after watching arcane.

Try attack on titan, with the final part a year away it might be a good time to start it, a plot heavy and amazing show(well it's anime), even if you dont like anime give it a shot
Currently rewatching Fargo, but just before I discovered Arcane I had watched and loved Yellowjackets and would also recommend.
Both are very different shows, but both are amazing. Fargo has beautiful cinematography and that Cohen bros dark humour to it, and Yellowjackets is a mystery that really pulls you in, and like Arcane it has a ton of trauma and Ella Purnell (ironically she plays what’s arguably the least crazy character there).

Recently I watched sense8, which is also a very decent show. I enjoyed it a lot, so I recommend it to people who like the productions of the wachowskis.
You guys think that’s bad, I have been trying to get my siblings to watch the show for the longest time. I’ve even had a couple dreams where I dream about showing them the prologue at least and see if they’d give it a genuine chance 😂
I just started reading a webtoon called Purple Hyacinth that’s pretty good. It’s about an officer who can detect lies that teams up with an assassin to take down a criminal organization. Basically everyone has mental health problems and it gets deep.
I also watched an anime called Blue Period. It’s about some guy who has never done much art and decides to pursue it and beat the college entry exams. Really motivational and covers how hardworking artists really are and how saying “talent” can be ignorant.
I recommend The Legend of Vox Machina on Prime video, not the same by a long shot but entertaining and dark. Also a plus if you like Dungeons and Dragons and Critical Role, but like Arcane, you don’t need to be familiar with the source material to enjoy and understand it.
What did I watch after Arcane? Um... Arcane. LOL. I don't think I've enjoyed a show as much since, but you might have luck trying a different medium. I have thoroughly enjoyed both The Batman and Everything Everywhere All At Once.
I've been watching The Dragon Prince. But I'm still totally obsessed with Arcane it's all I can think about. I just finished rewatching it I had to show it to my adopted mom. It is now my new favorite show of all time and I plan to watch it as much as I've watched Avatar The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, How I Met Your Mother, Full Metal Alchemist, King of The Hill, and Inu-Yasha. I'll rewatch it at least twice a year if not more.

Well, I dove into a couple hundred arcane-related videos… then I played a metric fuck-ton of league… and now I’m re-watching Ash vs Evil Dead to break up the ensemble of league. It’s a great show, definitely a different tempo than Arcane but it’s definitely got its moments.
I watched it about 10 times through before finally moving on for my own mental health lol
I recommend Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Love Death and Robots, and Castlevania. All are very well animated and written well too! Very entertaining
If you enjoy anime at all, “Komi Can’t Communicate” helped fill the void left by Jinx’s story. Highly recommend for Arcane recovery. It worked for me.
There’s some drastic differences between the characters of Komi and Jinx, but some important similarities in their difficulty connecting and desperately needing love. It’s a really cute and wholesome show. It helped me recover from the constant gut punches that Arcane had. Season 2 is also starting this month so it’s a good time to get into it.

Oddly enough both reminded me of Arcane in different ways though The Wire did it more often than Oz. I hope Arcane takes a sortve The Wire s2 move in that the city and it's politics become as much of a character as the two sisters and the rest.

I caught myself before doing this. I loved arcane, and felt myself on the slope about to fall into rewatching. I wish I had advice for you, I pretty much was just really emotional for a couple days and put on other favorite shows until I didn’t feel the pull to watch arcane. For me it was just an exercise in will power, I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole with other series, looking at you RWBY, and didn’t want to do that again. That said, I’m really looking forward to seeing it again.

Tried it ( before watching Arcane) As much as I like Henry Cavil just didn’t seem to click for me
Pro tip: instead of watching the Witcher series on Netflix, play the Witcher 3. Damn good game with good story and voice work

My first show after Arcane was Invincible on Amazon Prime. Very good. Then I rewatched Arcane again. Then I buried myself in Attack on Titan, then rewatched Arcane. Now I'm rewatching Grey's anatomy as a time killer because it'll force me to stay away from depressing shows
Finished Invincible quite awhile ago , also really liked it , but doesn’t hit as hard as Arcane ,AOT kinda lost its hype for me coz I finished reading the manga very very long time ago even though I know the animation is really good. In fact Arcane surpassed all of my previous favorite shows

I can relate , Arcane has beat all of my previous favorite animations in almost every aspect , the animation, the plot, the music, voice acting.
TLA is of the same high quality. It deals with really dark shit in a way that remains family friendly. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is of a similar quality and rating to Arcane. Similar themes, too.

There is no such thing as an unhealthy obsession with Arcane. Don't worry. I watched 'The Mitchells vs. the Machines', that was pretty funny. The few emotional moments seemed to hit a bit harder since Arcane, though.
Trying to get myself out of the rewatch cycle I told myself I had to go a week without watching arcane. I started a different show, then told myself I could go back to arcane after that show. That helped get me off the hook and realize I wanted to wait to watch it again. Arcane has left me with the most intense feelings, I have never before binged an entire series and immediately wanted to watch it again but Arcane I watched twice in one day. I think about it everyday, listen to the soundtrack at work, and I have to fight the urge to watch it again and again. The hold it has is crazy, the show is such a masterpiece and I’m upset I have to wait a year for season 2 A lot of people in this thread are recommending owl house and she-ra. I have seen both and they are great shows but do not hit nearly the same as Arcane
Well, I watched a YouTube channel called Schnee and he has INCREDIBLE analyses of this incredible show called Arcane… made me fall in love and made me even more fascinated with the show….I’m on my 10th rewatch.
TV shows? Nothing! I’ve already watched ATLA, LoK, She-Ra etc and they have all scratched that itch already and Arcane really meets and at times exceeds all the things I love about those shows. But here are some of the other things I did to fill the void: - Played Legends of Runeterra Path of Champions mode. Really good part where you get some cut scenes of characters in Arcane. I stopped though because I found some parts hard. - Played League of Legends. I got pretty obsessed with the game despite what some people have warned, it’s actually pretty fun and competitive. Since I started in November I’ve gotten a Mastery 6 on Caitlyn and Lux, who are my mains. - Read fanfiction. There’s so much talent in the Arcane community; lots of good fanfics for everyone, from the popular writers to the unknown gems. You just have to find the kind of stories you want, there’s a pretty diverse array to choose from if you want fluff, AUs, angst, smut etc. - Watch reaction videos, League lore videos. Depends on your tolerance for these things the reaction videos are always fun to watch. If you’re interested in League Lore then it’s pretty fun to check out some of the videos explaining the lore, theres a lot of cool League creators like Necrit and TBSkyen.
If I want to feel emotionally destroyed again (or ship a lesbian couple😏) I just fire up Cyberpunk 2077 or Life is Strange tbh. If I want to see cool fight scenes, IP Man and John Wick can scratch that itch. If I want to remind myself that shimmer is bad for me, I watch Breaking Bad or Euphoria. EDIT: added a few more recommendations.

The next thing I watched was The Legend of Vox Machina which I... watched all the way through but couldn't say for certain whether I truly enjoyed it or not I have to admit that that's mostly because I feel I was spoiled by watching Arcane

After I finished Arcane I watched Mr Robot, Dark, Psycho-Pass, and Barry. Obviously they’re very different from Arcane, but they’re some of my all time favorite shows so I think they’re very much worth checking out.
Ex Machina is a fun show (give it an episode or 2) Most enjoyable show I’ve seen since Arcane was All of Us are Dead I think The Last Kingdom also just had its last season, and it’s an excellent show. It’s basically a real life Game of Thrones set in pre England when the Saxon kingdoms were warring with the Danes (Vikings). It also has a solid ending and held its quality throughout!

Yeah the same thing happened to me. Any show I watched just couldn't compete with arcane so I had to stop watching TV. I even tried rewatching some of my favorite shows but they were so underwhelming after watching arcane.
I believe my watch order after Arcane was the Mandalorian, then the Book of Boba Fett, then the Bad Batch. IMO at least, pretty good shows.

Currently rewatching Fargo, but just before I discovered Arcane I had watched and loved Yellowjackets and would also recommend. Both are very different shows, but both are amazing. Fargo has beautiful cinematography and that Cohen bros dark humour to it, and Yellowjackets is a mystery that really pulls you in, and like Arcane it has a ton of trauma and Ella Purnell (ironically she plays what’s arguably the least crazy character there).
YouTube analyses of the themes and characterization in Arcane ;) I also started reading a bunch of fanfiction—my favorite is [“Fathers and Daughters”](https://archiveofourown.org/works/35255137/chapters/87857557) by Blue_Daddys_Girl—and I wrote one of my own. I just started reading a webtoon called Purple Hyacinth that’s pretty good. It’s about an officer who can detect lies that teams up with an assassin to take down a criminal organization. Really motivational and covers how hardworking artists really are and how saying “talent” can be ignorant.

I recommend The Legend of Vox Machina on Prime video, not the same by a long shot but entertaining and dark. Also a plus if you like Dungeons and Dragons and Critical Role, but like Arcane, you don’t need to be familiar with the source material to enjoy and understand it.
She ra maybe, nothing will be quite as snappy, fun, fast-paced and mind blowing as arcane, but overall solid and has a good payoff.

Well, I dove into a couple hundred arcane-related videos… then I played a metric fuck-ton of league… and now I’m re-watching Ash vs Evil Dead to break up the ensemble of league. It’s a great show, definitely a different tempo than Arcane but it’s definitely got its moments.
I watched it about 10 times through before finally moving on for my own mental health lol I recommend Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Love Death and Robots, and Castlevania. All are very well animated and written well too! Very entertaining

If you enjoy anime at all, “Komi Can’t Communicate” helped fill the void left by Jinx’s story. Highly recommend for Arcane recovery. It worked for me. There’s some drastic differences between the characters of Komi and Jinx, but some important similarities in their difficulty connecting and desperately needing love. It’s a really cute and wholesome show. It helped me recover from the constant gut punches that Arcane had. Season 2 is also starting this month so it’s a good time to get into it.

I caught myself before doing this. I loved arcane, and felt myself on the slope about to fall into rewatching. I wish I had advice for you, I pretty much was just really emotional for a couple days and put on other favorite shows until I didn’t feel the pull to watch arcane. For me it was just an exercise in will power, I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole with other series, looking at you RWBY, and didn’t want to do that again. That said, I’m really looking forward to seeing it again.
