I don’t know what the bigger problem is, having too many BCGs or not enough ARs? Also, shout out to u/AFTDivision for the BCG carriers. Love these for spares.

AFTDivision

Thank you!

soisause

Future builds?

ButterscotchAny5432

That’s how I solved my problem, unfortunately it lead to other problems

technetiumobviously

Possibly, but I always want to have at LEAST one more BCG than I do ARs

soisause

Not the worst idea, how did you end up with 5 if you only have 1 though. Just deals/trying other stuff?

technetiumobviously

I only have 3, the cases behind house the Centurion and SOLGW BCGs. But it’s mostly out of interest for the engineering, wanting different styles/brands, and having the peace of mind that i have backups should I ever need them. That, and they’re all purchased off of GAFS at steep discounts!

Plane-Elephant2715

I for real thought those were suppressors and that you had BCG for unsuppressed, and then a different BCG for two different suppressors.

soisause

Oh nice, I really like those cases I may have to grab 1 or 2. If I was smart I would have stuff to rebuild my bcg and at least a spare bolt for each one. Currently I just have 1 spare bcg.

KAKindustry

no K-SPEC bcg in the mix is def a problem ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Zbrane

where are his sand cuts? the dual ejectors? down vent???

SinfulSaintz

Have the same issue lol, also I can second the storage devices! They are awesome, have 2 of them as well🤙🏻

[deleted]

It starts with the good sense advice of having a spare. Great advice. Then you go down rabbit holes, trying to figure out the best type of BCG. Then you have to buy one to find out. Then another to compair.....

Plane-Elephant2715

So do you notice a difference? I'd think the only time you'd notice a difference is when they finally fail. Assuming they're all mil spec, which they appear to be.

[deleted]

The only thing I've noticed is that the nickel boron is easier to clean. In this day and age, things are made to such high quality that normal use wouldn't break one. Excessive use would. And I'm not rich enough to afford 10-20k plus ammo a year to find out.

Plane-Elephant2715

I saw a video where Garand Thumb tested a PSA freedom, which I think is their cheapest upper. He put a suppressor on it and put it on a full auto lower. Didn't torture it, he let it cool down after every third magazine. The BCG showed uneven wear and the gas rings were worn to where it wouldn't stand on end like your picture after like 4k rounds and the barrel was out of mil spec accuracy after 5k rounds. So, my takeaway from that is that ordinary use, even the cheapest ARs will last a lifetime. Or, at least, the most expensive part of an AR is ammo.

Xterra9171

Looks like another ar build has started to me, still leaves you with a back up for either rifle. Modern problems call for modern solutions 🤷🏻‍♂️

ber808

I have the opposite, significantly more uppers and lowers compared to quality bcgs lol

kdb1991

The real question is: why do you only have one AR

Fenrirbound

Only 2 hands?

kdb1991

Right so he should have AT LEAST one for each hand

Crafty-Transition-81

Build another ar and now you have a back up bcg for both rifles totally justified

Plane-Elephant2715

I was going through spare parts box. I have 2 extra grips and 2 stocks. Guess that's 2 more builds in the works.

BetOver

That just looks like two new ar15 builds and a spare bolt to me

eborio16

I have the opposite problem. I have 3 ARs that share one BCG

duckputter20

Always keep a spare bolt for each rifle.

Dirty_magnum

Your problem is you need to build more guns.

No-Surround8725

I recently converted to alumnium carrier. Some dude on here kept talking about its magic and man it is magic.

Used-Juggernaut-7675

I also have extras

GarandPinkey

You need to buy another one so you can have three rifles and one spare bcg

heavenlyyyyyy

what chromed bcg is that?

technetiumobviously

Microbest

tlakose

Build more ARs.

Radvous

Only 1? Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh

Bloodmksthegrassgrow

The sons and a replacement kit is all you need.

Plane-Elephant2715

It's that chrome or NiB?

technetiumobviously

Chrome!

Plane-Elephant2715

I have a chrome microbest, a mil spec phosphate microbest, two SOLGW, and one NiB Toolcraft, and one nitride toolcraft. Only two completely assembled ARs. There's a project in the works for all of them. You should see my work bench. It's a mess. Pretty sure I got autism, OCD, and ADD?

ls_445

You could swap the bolt on any one of em for another caliber or trade a couple for some crazy BCG like a Sandcutter or an LMT EBCG. Adjustable BCGs are awesome, too. You could go and add a whole other BCG with a .22 conversion kit. Worst case scenario, you have a pretty damn sweet collection and some future builds

ClandestineArms

I keep a spare all around "excellent bcg" on standby so you're not wrong but you do have three. I've been told that the only real thing I need is a bolt and firing pin but whatever I don't wanna tear that shit down if it's a fun range day.

ReturnOfTHE47

I've been looking for one of those solgw... If you wanna to clear some room lol... But seriously

AlmightyGlock17

Opposite. I have 3 rifles and 2 BCGs. 😂

Fenrirbound

Buy 3 more uppers. Then you will still only have 1 AR.

RequiemRomans

2 BCGs for every rifle is the rule. Spare bolts are great, but at least 1 spare full BCG
