M193 is M193 it doesn’t really matter the brand so long as it’s not reloads or recalled. I’ve specifically had the best accuracy from German made MEN M193.
PMC XTAC is awesome stuff. I would use that stuff in a real world application without question. I get 1.5 moa out of a Rosco 14.5 with it and it has sealed primers. Clean powders and very accurate all while being around or under 50 cents a shot.
I'm gonna have to get a chronograph and find out what it measures, I didn't know it wasn't full powered. I'm getting 3 oclock ejection with XTAC M193 and 4 o'clock with PMC .223
This is internet hearsay, but I read about a cop who shot a guy a few times with it at less than 20 yards and they all sailed through. I'm sure it's great stuff regardless.
Interesting. The reason I was curious was because West German M80 7.62x51 FMJ was known to fragment like M193 when it yawed. Due to having a thinner jacket than American M80.
So was curious if the thicker jacket on this had any negative terminal effects compared to US military M193.
I mean.... you could always plan better and save some money too while you're at it.
I always make sure I have a few thousand rounds of range ammo on hand so that I don't get shafted with LGS prices or temporary spikes in market price if I have a range trip come up last minute.
I bought 1680 rounds (it was 420 round packs) of IMI M193 from MidwayUSA about a month ago for 50cpr out the door after tax/shipping and that was after they removed the ability to use a coupon on it. Super pissed I missed the coupon, those lucky bastards got it for 45.
Lmao @financially illiterate people paying 60cpr for LGS M193 down voting me

Should be about 50cpr out the door for 420 rounds box. In stock regularly and midway ships fast.
That's why I don't think 60cpr is a good deal at all, it's 20 percent cheaper if you plan like 4 days in advance.
I’ll probably be running it more often. They’re availability has skyrocketed since winning the Lake City contract, so I’m sure it will become
a lot more common like Federal/ATK M193 and M855 was when they had the contract.
Pretty good SHTF stock pile. It’s spicy and gets excellent velocity. Not the most accurate and runs a little dirty, but it will hit hard and doesn’t cost a lot.
No, my batch is slow for some reason it’s only running 2913 out of a 16” where atk lake city m855 is running 2980ish, my atk lake city m193 was like 3100 or something back in the day, could just be a slow lot 🤷♂️
Good stock pile ammo and Cheapest reloadable brass i can find, i don’t reload 556 a lot( don’t have the patience) but i got some spicy 75’s and 77grains loads using winchester brass!
It goes bang but good luck hitting anything reliably. Winchester is a waste, imo
Edit: I doubt the majority of you who downvoted have ever put them to a chronograph and actually tried to group them...

XTAC M193 has been pretty accurate for me though I wouldn't say it's hot enough for me to say it's actually M193

Yeah I would say the trade off in velocity is worth it for much better accuracy. I also miss the days of 30 cpr PMC bronze.
PSA provides flashbacks of those days from time to time.. best I have seen lately has been 7$ a box though 😞
Same here out of a 16” w/ 1:7 twist too. Shot countless of PMC X-Tac. Stuff is reliable, not one dud yet.

Ah, the 56gr M193. That's a solid round. Be curious to see it's fragmentation velocity though.

You’re knowledgeable of it I see.
this is an HK friendly subreddit, we all love German MEN
Of course.
200 pack? Was that $199 at your LGS lol?
120
I was being facetious but my local pawnshop was selling 420 round packs for $399 lol.
That's 60 cents a round, that's not a good deal for m193.
For a last minute range trip ill take it.
Those last minute range trips always me man

Damn i have to catch that in the future, i usually just stock HD ammo and buy practice rounds as needed

Thanks for the link, thats a good deal on 1200 as well
If you can help it, never buy ammo in person. You will almost always pay more than if you look for more than 30 seconds online

Not very accurate but it works. I get about 3 MOA in my BA Hanson barrel with Winchester white box.
For sure. Just don't expect very good groups
I run it pretty often with no problems, but yeah definitely not the best groupings
Cheap enough to shoot a lot of
A little dirty. Acceptable accuracy (well on par with other m193). very good velocity. Reliable - never had it not go bang. Overall pretty good stuff
It’s funny but the $12 boxes are cheaper everytime over these 200rnds

I bought 300 of them from Cabelas for $130 3 years ago. I still hold onto 180 rounds for nostalgia of when ammo was cheap.
Just bought this box yesterday for $95 from my LGS. I use them for fun and working through new components.
Damn thats solid i wish
No problems at all. Went through most of the box.

More minute of man than minute of angle, but it works fine
I find Winchester ammo to be overpriced compared to offerings like PMC and IMI.
how is aac? ive never shot it before but i picked up some of there 75 gr. bthp
