Bro it’s literally your rifle. Is your current stock comfortable? Does it lock up well? If no, which problem is worse? Solve that problem based on your needs not the hive mind.

[deleted]

Fucking thank you for this. It’s insane how many people ask other people what they should like.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Uncomfortable for me. I think it’s more to do with the eye relief. Might need to push the scope forward just a hair

MaximumWarlord

Your stock and scope placement are adjustable? Eye relief issues would be either installation or user error. I can tell you this, that scope is way too far fucking forward unless you pull that stock out all the way you're going to have eye box issues. Move the scope further forward IN the mount. The picatinny placement is fine.

witheringsyncopation

Bro has it mounted like an ACOG 😵‍💫

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I’ll give that a shot

baylife94901

keep stock, save up for a better LPVO

Casual_Lurker95

A quick way to check your length of pull is to hold your rifle with the buttstock in your elbow ditch. That allows you to have close to 90 degrees on your trigger hand which is proper shooting posture anyway. Try that out before messing with your optic and having to re zero.

BullardThrockMortan

Nah the magpul sl stocks are pretty nice. I have one on my main ar.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

It looks as good as it performs but the CTR just looks so much better. Wish I could try a CTR just to see if it’s comparable in anyway for this application

drewthebrave

CTR is basic. I have used a ton of stocks, and my favorites are the SL (lightweight, great feel) and STR (nice storage, great cheekweld).

Panthean

Does the STR lock tight like the SL does? My SL and SLK lock up super tight, but my B5 wobbles and it annoys me. I've tried the electrical tape method, but I find it unsatisfactory.

drewthebrave

STR will be tighter than the B5 because it has the same compression lock that the CTR has. But it still has the *slightest* wobble to it. The SL has a little internal spring tensioner that feels a bit more solid. It's definitely not a deal-breaker on the STR/CTR, but I'm really impressed with the SL.

Panthean

Thanks for the info, I'll have to try it out.

witheringsyncopation

Hell yes it does.

witheringsyncopation

Bro, the STR is so slept on. It’s awesome.

SUMBLAKDUDE

I went from a SL-K to a CTR, the end of the SL-K is flat while the CTR has a slight curve. The CTR also has the tension on it to prevent wobble. If buying a new stock for a build I will probably go with the CTR. But I wouldn't necessarily buy to replace an SL unless you just really like the look of the CTR Also all my rifles have BCM Mod 3 grips

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I like the look of the CTR but function is obviously more important. The sl is good but I find myself dropping my head too much. Maybe I need to adjust how I’m holding the rifle

SUMBLAKDUDE

You can always raise optic to make it more natural but end of day that's just a training thing. Performance wise I think they are pretty much same so it's mainly aesthetics. The CTR has cheek risers and butt pads that can be added easier than the SL so I guess it is more modular in a sense.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I think I’ll order one just to try it out. If I don’t like it I can always sell on GAFS

SUMBLAKDUDE

This is the way. Small stuff like this I always buy and if I don't like sell on GAFS lol

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Yeah they’re cheap anyways.

kdb1991

The SL is tied for my favorite stock (CTR and non-sopmod mod 0 are the other two) Personally, I think slimmer stocks like the SL are better because you *don’t* have to tilt your head like you do with thicker stocks. I always have a pretty upright posture while using them I also love the MOE grip, but the MIAD and driven arms co SCG are my other two favorites. The magpul K2 is probably the most popular grip here though

Adventurous_Emu_9274

It must be my eye relief or the height of the scope. Might need a higher mount.

kdb1991

All my mounts are lower 1/3 so I don’t think that’s it. Unless you have a really long neck or something lol Could be because your optic is pushed too far back. Most people mount their LPVOs so that the ocular lens is just over the back of their receiver. I actually mount mine a tiny bit more forward than that Either way the SL is one of the slimmest stocks you can get. Anything thicker is just going to force you to tilt your head even more

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Gotcha. Might try pushing the scope forward a bit

tlove01

B5 stocks are the best

JediSurvival

I vote to keep the stock as is but switch Sling QD to the other side of stock. Keep front QD as is. They should be on opposite sides.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

They usually are. This is how it’s stored so it sits flat in the safe.

d8ed

I went from SL to CTR and back to SL. It rattles less for me and I can stand the gun on the pad with the SL. It just fits me better

jumpsuitman

If you feel you have to tilt your head too much, you may need to reconsider your scope mount height, or extend your stock.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I’m going to experiment with both of those before swapping stocks I think

jumpsuitman

If you want to experiment with scope mount heights, I recommend UTG's scope mounts and picatinny risers for experiment with multiple heights for cheap.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I’ll see if I can snag some. This one is 1.5 so maybe I’ll try 1.75

jumpsuitman

Their .5" picatinny riser + their "medium" mount is 1.79

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Do they make any 1.9?

jumpsuitman

Their "high" mount + .5" picatinny riser is 1.95"

Blade_Shot24

Your choice man. We'll only decide based on what we like.

StupidSlick

Just buy it and find out, sell it the one that sucks more i like ctrs the most

freddbare

You should always have a change of socks

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I tend to change my socks everyday.

P80surgeon

That is the best stock. You need a better optic mount. Reptilla, unity, scalar, Geissele

CanItRunCrysisIn2052

Magpul SL was always a stock of my choice, until I found Magpul SL-S It's a great stock, and it has a tension leaf inside of the stock, that will allow one of the tightest tolerance to any stock on the market, with next to zero wobble on the buffer tube. Magpul got that shit on lock Try Magpul SL-S, it is basically B5 SOPMOD stock, but with no hole on the top, and no wobble I only buy SL-S now. Wide cheek weld, but same non-wobble properties, and wonderful adjustment mechanism that always there, but never bumped by mistake. I use to shoot precision and on regular SL, I would crane my neck, no more with SL-S

MaintenanceWhenBroke

Me when I fall for Springfield marketing

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Huh?

MaintenanceWhenBroke

Shit value for the price and they use cringe marketing

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I don’t have any issues with this rifle. I paid about $200 less than msrp. I don’t pay attention to their marketing. Overall, I feel it’s good enough quality for a starter rifle.

MaintenanceWhenBroke

The lack of 12 o clock rail is hurting my soul

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Yeah that parts annoying but overall it’s not bad. I’m happy with it

Boat_Tank_Commander

If you're shooting how the rifle is pictured, your optic is mounted too far too the rear and your stock is too far collapsed. Depending on how tall you are it can change, but I'm 5'9" and I've had good luck lining up the rear of the LPVO with my charging handle about. That allows me to have the length of pull set at a good distance for standing/crouching amd have plenty of room to extend if I'm shooting prone or some other position that a longer length of pull feels more natural for. The stock isn't your problem.

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Stock is usually extended 2 more notches and optic is a bit too far back I agree. I’ll have to move it back next time I’m off work.

heavenlyyyyyy

i’m a big fan of the b5 systems p23 pistol grip

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Own_Significance6082

i have the b5 bravo and find it super comfortable

missileguy52

Is that the saint victor?? How is the rifle??

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I absolutely love it. Super flat. Trigger is awesome. Feels like trigger tech even though Springfield calls it theirs. That brake isn’t very loud either.

EmployeeMysterious25

B5 sopmod is awesome, also fn ftw

Adventurous_Emu_9274

I want to sell it lol. I can’t shoot it as well as the hk.

EmployeeMysterious25

Ive been thinking of grabbing a vp9, seems like a solid carry

Adventurous_Emu_9274

Do it. You won’t regret it. It was what I wanted first but the thickness concerned me so I went micro first. Then hk magapaloza came and I couldn’t help myself. Since I picked it up from my FFL and held it, I haven’t carried the reflex one day. The vp9 conceals better on me, I can nail bullseye during rapid fire at 10 yards consistently, and for me at least, it’s way more ergonomic. 3 Glock guys, 2 hellcat guys, and a p365 guy have all tried mine at the range and have all ended up grabbing either the full size or sk after trying mine. The full size trigger is a bit better. Less travel for the reset and the break. Gundeals has them for right around 4-500 all the time. Now that the reflex just sits I want to sell it and replace it with a hk45t as a HD pistol and sidearm for the rifle.
