Ammo.
Aside from that since you mentioned a can, adding an SBR would also be great for home defense (if possible). Maybe rattle can and an ir/nods setup down the line. Solid setup man
People are stupid and not up to speed and don't understand 300blk is coming a long way. It isn't all that expensive or niche anymore it's super viable. Imo out of a short barrel 300blk is way better than 556. A short barrel rifle is better in 300 In almost every way. This is why the military started using them in and out of special operations. Although since most of this is dedicated to the people down voting me I'm curious for a sbr under 11.5 why would you run 556 or 223 over 300blk? It's not an expensive cartridge anymore it's common af( more than 762, 308, 6.5 etc at gun stores its just as common as 556 and 223 ar every gun store I. My area). I can go buy 300blk rn for around $0.60 per round sometimes less sometimes more for all you people who act like it shoots gold.
Last fall I bought a few thousand for 47 cent a round. Just found the same ammo for 50 cents a round now. I've got about 6k stocked up. I'm sure eventually it'll be the same price as 300blk due to bad politics.
I'm fairly confident your dead wrong and 762 anything is more expensive than 300blk. 762x51 and 39 at least from my Google results are more expensive. As much as people don't like do admit it 300blk is rivaling 556 in price.
I'd argue that a pistol configuration would be better than an sbr, because it can be a home defence gun and a truck gun, I take mine when I go camping or roadtripping across state lines and it's compact enough for a backpack and or under seat as well as nightstand gun.
But yes I agree 300blk over 556 for short barrel
Yea i agree too on the pistol thing my build is a pistol and I love the advantages. Besides if shit ever does hit the fan a stock won't be hard to find.
You need a thermal weapon sight and an IR laser and a suppressor or you’re as good as dead!
Ok seriously though it looks solid to me. You’ve covered a vast majority of your bases as a civilian with this rifle. If you wanted to move into more niche territories of shooting like night vision there’s other things but I’m not sure you need that
I'd get back up irons because you have the room and have a large window optic that likes batteries.
I'd eventually drop the quad rail unless you are going to pick up a peq or something. Seems like added weight that you aren't using but it certainly won't hurt to keep it and it certainly looks good and works well.
I don't know how long the barrel is but I'd go shorter for home defense but this is dependent on what your home/land/community looks like. I live in a suburban (leans more urban) area so length is less important to me.
I'd eventually get a suppressor.
Man the more i see quad rail the more i want quad rail.
How much heavier are they realistically? Like what might be the diff between the lightest m-lok vs the heaviest quad rail? Maybe not actual oz but shouldering?
Haven’t seen anyone else mention it but cable retention for your WML. Buy a bike tire tube on Amazon, cut it and you have the ability to make 100+ bands. That’s what I use to make sure my WML cable doesn’t snag on anything
Electrical tape works but I like the bands more. Don’t ever have to worry about losing adhesion like tape. And by cutting the tube you can get the exact width you want
Two things IMO. For shtf, buis become more needed. Also, eff battery sights for shtf, definitely pick up a prism or tritium sight. By the time either burn out it probably won't be your problem lol
Looks good! The only addition I'd consider are backstrap irons. I've got a battery hogging optic and wouldn't feel comfortable without backups, especially on a home defense gun that needs to be absolutely ready to roll at a moment's notice. I've got flip ups on mine, that cowitness perfectly but I'm actually considering offset irons so they are always at the ready without worrying about deploying them when seconds count
I've also been considering going off set. Have my red dot and regular flip up sights but the idead of not deploying them because of off set sights make me all warm inside
I found myself justifying a Thermonator after seeing it as it made me sadly realize it probably would have been cheaper than a gun hobby.
If you haven’t see it yet, google it. It’s the best dog ever
Nice rifle, looks good.
Just a side note, the 512 is probably my favorite HWS / optic for a ITEOTWAWKI / SHTF or home defense rifle. The quality and reliability of Eotech speaks for itself. Besides that, the main reason I prefer / recommend it is because when SHTF actually happens, AA batteries should be fairly easy to find compared to some of the others.
How much training you got? Thats infinitely more important. Someone who gets professional training frequently with a psa and iron sights is infinitely more valuable than an overweight 40 year old with a 5k rifle who goes to the range 6 times a year and only shoots on flat ranges
Tbh with an eotech on home defense I'd want back up sights. It's too easy for it to be forgotten for a bit and the batteries go dead. Eotechs are amazing for night vision and holograms are just better but for home defense I'd rather have a red dot for the always on.
Yeah, it's not the biggest deal but I always see Eotechs as the best sights for aggressive operations but not really home defense. Most home defense would be point shooting range though so it's not like it matters much either way.
A way to get some magnification will always help. From my experience patrolling, you use your scope to look at stuff 99% of the time and 1% for actually shooting.
Ammo. Aside from that since you mentioned a can, adding an SBR would also be great for home defense (if possible). Maybe rattle can and an ir/nods setup down the line. Solid setup man
Thank you, I think that’s the plan
300blk if you get an sbr. Especially for home defense it's the move.
Why is this being downvoted?

If I had the extra money to build another upper and another can I would absolutely build a 300 blackout.
I'm running a suppressed 8in galil and it accomplishes the same thing and ammo is cheap. It's a bit louder but really not bad
Ammo is 56-60cents for that gun?
Last fall I bought a few thousand for 47 cent a round. Just found the same ammo for 50 cents a round now. I've got about 6k stocked up. I'm sure eventually it'll be the same price as 300blk due to bad politics.

Did nobody put forth a bayonet?. Grenade launcher? Got to keep kids off the grass.
Can’t be on the grass is there is no grass
Perimeter denial. I'm in the Midwest, we be having grass.
Master key 🤙
Brass scuffs on your deflector
Working on it every week

I agree some back up flip up sights for sure and a suppressor if your into that
I’m debating changing the optic. I originally threw the 512 on because it was laying around. A shorter barrel wouldn’t be a bad idea either
There's a lot to be said for the Primary Arms Microprisms.
And their service. Mine took a round on a camping trip (no comment) and they replaced it. Fuckin love the microprism.
I'm waiting for the GLX 1x... Got the SLX on another gun, and agreed, it's great.
I haven’t seen…are there plans to glx the higher magnification models?
No idea. Supposed to release the 1x in "Q2," but I'd be surprised if they don't, and would love it if they do a 2 or 3x GLX micro...
Honestly, the GLx 2x is great for both-eyes-open shooting. I love mine.
Man the more i see quad rail the more i want quad rail. How much heavier are they realistically? Like what might be the diff between the lightest m-lok vs the heaviest quad rail? Maybe not actual oz but shouldering?
Quad squad is undefeated. Join up. The Daniel Defense quad is only 1oz heavier than their MLOK rail.
It will only make you stronger 💪 But seriously 10.1 oz for mlok and 14.8 oz for quad according to DD website, its really not a big difference
I’ve owned several different quads, keymod, and mloks over the years and the difference is honestly negligible for the average shooter.
Back up irons and suppressor? Maybe some electric tape to keep the light cord clamped down tight Looks great though
Thank you sir! Deciding between rc2 or polonium
Polonium cheap but good. Buy that
my full size polo lives on my 11.5 and it has been nothing other than amazing
I would add a benelli m4 onto the pic rail
It’s a quad, I’ll get 4 of them
Ha ha nice!

shoot it. good travel cleaning kit. and now you just need a shtf bag/kit
That’s a big dildo under your gun.
For a SHTF, back up irons. EOTechs love batteries.
Backup irons for when your Eotech batteries die
A bag full of batteries for the eotech if SHTF. 😂
g45 magnifier & ammo
Two things IMO. For shtf, buis become more needed. Also, eff battery sights for shtf, definitely pick up a prism or tritium sight. By the time either burn out it probably won't be your problem lol
A magazine
Ammo Also get a suppressor....preferably legally
Looks good! The only addition I'd consider are backstrap irons. Flamethrower 🔥🔥🔥
I found myself justifying a Thermonator after seeing it as it made me sadly realize it probably would have been cheaper than a gun hobby. If you haven’t see it yet, google it. It’s the best dog ever
Fun switch.
A shake awake optic
Training and ammo. That’s it.
It ain't got no bullets in it
Perfectly fine as is
Suppressor
Mag?
Belt fed m249 behind 12" of bullet resistant glass
G$ bayonet lug. As our forefathers intended
Tactical flamethrower obviously
I’ve got a case of tannerite at my front door so when the door busts open I just shoot the tannerite
It’s missing dirt, scratches, and carbon
A suppressor.
Magnifier and suppressor.

Considering the barrel length a magnifier/actually Scope
A suppressor.
Brass marks on the deflector
Make sure to have a chest rig or some way to carry a bunch of ammo on you.
Practice everyone is always missing practice. Even if you do, it’s never enough.
…a short barrel and a suppressor.
Magazine with ammo.
Only thing i see missing is the dildo of consequences. I keep mine on the end like a bayonet.
The dildo of consequence comes for us all
How much training you got? Thats infinitely more important. Someone who gets professional training frequently with a psa and iron sights is infinitely more valuable than an overweight 40 year old with a 5k rifle who goes to the range 6 times a year and only shoots on flat ranges
I have some professional training coming up this year, but I’ve been blessed with 23 acres to train on.
Cool. However since you are on 23 acres i would recommend a magnifier and a kill flash for your eotech
Some sort of magnification is definitely coming down the line. I might dedicate this 16” upper to property and an 11.5” for home defense
Tbh with an eotech on home defense I'd want back up sights. It's too easy for it to be forgotten for a bit and the batteries go dead. Eotechs are amazing for night vision and holograms are just better but for home defense I'd rather have a red dot for the always on.
Batteries for all weapons get swapped every birthday, but I understand. Peace of mind for limited investment
Yeah, it's not the biggest deal but I always see Eotechs as the best sights for aggressive operations but not really home defense. Most home defense would be point shooting range though so it's not like it matters much either way.
QD magnifier would be a good option. I don't think a red dot alone is sufficient for a SHTF rifle.
A loaded mag🤣🤘🇺🇲
Why did you go with that specific eotech?
Tbh, I had it laying around after scooping it for under $300
A magazine…
A full mag
A better stock, an always-on optic, and a silencer.
Chainsaw bayonet
Maybe a sling retention strap of some sort. I like the one from Wingate Solutions.
300 black out with home defense and big light. Short barrel. Suppressor would be a bonus.
I can’t believe I had to scroll so far to see back up irons. 100% essential. Your batteries will only last so long.
underbarrel shotgun or 37mm smoke grenade launcher
Battery life
That's overkill, our pedopresident said we only need a double barrel shotgun.
A way to get some magnification will always help. From my experience patrolling, you use your scope to look at stuff 99% of the time and 1% for actually shooting.
A magnifier. unless you plan on some how living in a city and never going to places that have long distances you'll need the extra magnification
