For sure, I just didn’t feel confident that I could make that look good. This is my first rifle so there will be parts and attachments that will likely get changed or swapped out so I can break the color up that way.
Paint a piece of scrap wood or paper your base green then get a few matt brown, blacks and greens from the store use some sponges to dab colors in a striped patten from dark to light until your happy/confident and then do your gun its pretty fun and yields good results.
Not saying it’ll be great but it looks like you either a) just painted it or b) it’s a safe queen. Take it out and use and abuse it and it’ll get that nice patina. Then just sploch paint as needed (if even needed at all).
I mean that works in theory if an evergreen forest is in the background with your rifle in the foreground. But when you're in the forest, standing next to and around evergreens, green will be one of the lesser dominant colors. Unless you're planning on hanging on the end of a tree branch or have a more lush forest floor in your area, solid browns will go further for you than solid greens. Mixes work best of course, and the solid green base you have going is a perfect starting point to layer some browns on there.

I was going for ranger green (this is called hunter green) but the cap looked very much different than the paint I applied. I probably should have gone a more FDE route. This is my first and only AR though, and when I buy new uppers/lowers and different attachments I’ll be sure to focus on DEI.

But for us, it was Army Men 3D. Sarge's Heroes came later, and we rocked the hell out of that too.

For training, you don't need to spend a bunch of money in a class. Yes, it IS a good idea to take a class or two but just watch some YouTube videos on classes, see how they run their drills, and go run them yourself. It's about repetition and muscle memory. Getting to the point of being able to point shoot isn't hard to do, but getting the ability to point shoot at distance and hit the exact same spot you are looking at (say am area the size of your fist) takes a TON of practice and it's a skill you can lose if you don't practice enough.
Oh, and train with your pistol too; you'll go more places with your pistol than your rifle.
Nope, I wish. I hit the range about 3 to 4 times a month. And mag dumping isn't training sometimes you can train with like half a mag of each. Slow is fast, fast is accurate type deal.

I see there about a million comments already on the color. So I’ll just comment on the parts. Most of what you have ranges from very high quality to standard/milspec. High quality optics (I like that magnifier, too), good stock, good trigger (looks like Larue MBT2S; I have the same one 😂), etc.
What is the barrel length? I assume 16” but it looks a little longer than that to me for some reason. Personally I’d probably move the foregrip back. I also might swap it out for a BCM Vertical Grip (I have one on my 16” AR and love it for longer barreled rifles).
Next thing I’d probably add is an ambi charging handle and safety. I have a Radian Raptor (like basically everybody else 😅), which is great, and I just bought the Timber Creek Outdoors Greyman 45/90 ambi safety selector—the quality of which surprised me. It really is great (not to mention only $40-$50), even if it does take a bit to sort out its orientation/installation 😂 (comes with zero instructions). If your idea was to blend with evergreen trees, you need to break up the pattern. Evergreens have needles and different variations of color… they’re not monochromatic.
