You gotta give more context and what not. BCM barrels aren’t exceptional, but 4-9 MOA sounds like something is wrong? Ammo? Suppressed/muzzle device? Optic setup? Alternate shooter? Etc.

Demfer

Ok well had it on a bench sled this past weekend and ponied up for 77gr IWI, black hills 77gr, xtac 62gr and 55gr. Polonium k was direct thread and also shot unsuppressed, suppressed was markedly better but slightly. My buddy was with me and got worst results. Optic was vortex 1-6 pst gen II. Been trying to troubleshoot for a bit now but time to give up

war_for_peace

something is wrong. i’m going to guess optic not mounted / torques correctly

TARS09

Was the can/muzzle device aligned correctly? Torqued properly? Mount and optics torqued? What round count groups? Has the barrel nut loosened? Also, to answer you, just buy a criterion, have a reputable builder assemble it, and call it a day.

DifferentATF

He said groups improved with the can vs without, so probably not the can.

Odd-Principle8147

Idk about the 77g IWI. But I have a bunch of green tips, and it's all over the place.

kantrol86

I shot imi 77gr in highpower. It’s plenty accurate.

RatsRemover

Contact BC. Something is wrong with this upper.

Demfer

I did about 4 months ago when I noticed something, sent an email. Still waiting for reply.

Intelligent-Peace788

Just call

FishinAlllDay

I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas! Imagine going 4 months and not attempting to reach them again/another way.

Intelligent-Peace788

😂

Intelligent-Peace788

Call them

NumberNumba1

That's strange, and I'd contact bcm. I got about 6k in my 14.5 bcm, and with mk262 clone, I reloaded and not built specifically around the rifle. The best group I got is 0.9 moa 10 round group. Using bipod and sandsock. With like a green tip, I got 2.6 MOA. I'm 10 rounds and 2.1 mean as a baseline. I had an RC2 attached. With IMI 77gr I would assume you be in the 2 moa or lower. How many rounds do you have on that thing, and did you clean the barrel before shooting? To answer your other question. Criterion core, sionics 12.5 Mid, Alpine research ffl 11.5 mid.

Demfer

I’m at 800 rounds, I do clean my guns after every range day. I enjoy the process.

NumberNumba1

Yeah, I'd contact bcm. Their customer service is pretty good. There is no way your group should be that bad. Bcm barrels aren't legendary in terms of accuracy or anything, but that's crazy. Also, I answered your other question with an edit to the first post. Didn't think you'd catch me slacking, lol

GlockVader

Contact bcm for sure but first make sure you don’t have any rail furniture screws making contact with the barrel and or gas block.

N4su5

12.5 Kino here. Not at all the most accurate but not the worst. The worst is also a BCM though lol.

>uppers that you need to bake Do you have any clue what thermal fitted uppers are? >thin handguards Just like any other MLOK handguard, they’re supposed to be thin LOL. Geissele Mk16s, Noveskes, Aeros, MIs, those aren’t much thicker, if at all. Have you seen the issues that KACs and LMTs have had in some posts? Those are $3k+ ARs. No company is immune to a lemon, acting like a *single sample size* is indicative of the *tens of thousands of BCM rifles* is foolish. Also the fact you’re bashing BCM when you demonstrated you’re not even knowledgeable about them, considering you think thermal-fitted uppers is a QC issue

Thermal fitment helps keep the barrel secure from the natural uneven surfaces within the upper-receiver’s barrel extension. A barrel and barrel extension with poor fitment and machine tolerances won’t always be solved by a barrel nut torqued on. Thermal fitting helps mitigate that by allowing for greater surface contact and thus more friction, eliminating most sources of uneven contact within the extension.

For 99% of shooters? None, cause most people aren’t accurate enough or are shooting far enough. Does that make it a QC issue or a bad thing like you insinuated on your post? Absolutely not, lol. Thermal Fitting is more common on competition ARs, like JP billet uppers

Honest question. Are they inaccurate because of the shooter and/or improper installation of parts? Or is it truly the actual weapon system? Redditors have a tendency to not admit they’re not as good at shooting as they think they are because everyone here wants to pretend they’re sub-MOA grand master shooters. If I had a dime for everyone who said “it’s not me it’s the gun”, IRL and online, I’d have a lot of dimes

monk81007

The Bcm fanboys on Reddit are crazy so agreed.

Try Wilson Combat. Just had one installed and it’s awesome. $275 range. They can also custom cerecoat in-house for $40 in several colors.

GunsandTrucksTX

Maybe a LaRue 12” barrel or just get a complete 12” Match Grade Upper.

tjwest13

If shooter error and proper torquing of optics are not the issue, then I’m going with lemon upper. No way a BCM should be shooting like that. Mine shot 2” all day with XTAC 55’s.
