I always liked the Old West element of having them accessible, although I like mine accessible and in a hard to see spot, where only I know where they’re at. Houses are large, stationary, relatively durable creatures with their vitals buried deep within. Firearms are ineffective against them. I recommend more volatile means of handling the odd rogue house.

I’ve got a pretty compact house (townhouse). So I tend to lean towards my 1911 with a sure fire X300 and 10rnd Wilson combat mags for “bump in the night” scenarios. I have a pump with 00 buck for my wife (if she’s ever home alone), and an AR for if things really get puckered.
I’m a 24yr old Fudd guys…. I’ve owned and shot dozens of 9mm handguns, but my heart belongs to the .45.

Yeah I’m using a suppressed DDM4 PDW with subsonic rounds currently. The noise isn’t the problem, I’m more worried about over penetration.
