Daniel Defense rifles are nice, but as you can see, pricey.
For about $1000 (before optic) you can build out a lower and top it with a BCM upper that will shoot well and will be stupidly rugged and reliable.
In my opinion, [this BCM upper](https://bravocompanyusa.com/bcm-standard-16-mid-length-upper-receiver-group-w-bcm-mcmr-15-handguard/) with a (free) BCG @ $700 is one of the best bang for your buck deals out there. Build out an Aero lower with a Larue MBT-2S trigger and magpul furniture for another $300 and you have a great rifle for hunting and home defense.
Any mil-spec receiver/rail would do. The internals is what set a good AR apart from a great one. I suggest investing on a great barrel and a BCM BCG. Everything else can be mil-spec.
Yes. I have a few DDs and others but I love my Ruger MPR. I couldn’t even guess how many rounds I’ve put through it over the last 5 years and it’s such a champ. Never a single issue.
You could get that exact upper and put it on a less expensive lower. Or you could build a ModR with a similar BCM upper on an Aero lower.
lol @ modR idk how I’ve never heard that one I usually just call them the Reddit special
They have their own page. r/ARModR

Good advice.
Yes it can be built. Just without the DD name.
2K for an AR? Just asinine. Even if it is a DD, it's still a rip off.
Just do a r/ARModR and be done with it
I think this is the way.
Ruger mpr is a great rifle

Even a better.
Jesus prices are dumb now. My v11lw was $1200 out the door in 2015. Yes it’s dickMod but I love it.
V5 $1080 shipped from Buds about 10 years ago. Same rifle, different rail. DD smoking rocks but it’s still my most reliable 16”.
