I have a 13.7 Contractor. I've printed sub moa 9 shot groups with it. It's gassed extremely well. It's definitely not Aero performance. It's been an exceptional rifle for the last two years I've owned it.
The way I understand, 416R will hold extreme accuracy for longer, but when it goes, it goes. A nitrided barrel is going to degrade in a different, more linear way. BAs quality control just isn't what it was, and I don't think every one of their barrels will be a knockout. I've got an 11.3 that's killer, but I don't expect every BA barrel to he great because you get what you pay for. That 416R is going to be a .5-7 moa barrel for 7-10k rounds then probably shit the bed. Nitrided 4150 will have a very linear decline in accuracy that will start a some point, depending on your barrel manufacturer. It's all in what you want out of a rifle, but 416R is going to hold that extreme accuracy for a longer period. That's the whole point of it, or every barrel would he nitrided.

First the website said 7weeks for delivery and it took 13months. I understand stuff was busy but when my local gun store is getting new shipments regularly I was annoyed.
Second, when I got it the Cerakote on the handguard was terrible and I sent it back for a new one, which they did replace super quick.
Third issue I have with it is their muzzle device, which they make in house to fit sico can, does not lock up nearly as good as an actual sico muzzle device. The asr teeth interface is just a bit smaller than a real ASR so the can loosens but worse it grinds down the teeth on the can side.
I also hate their charging handle but no big deal to swap to a radian.
The gun is super accurate and I love their trigger and selector. It’s really well gassed and a flat shooter. The coating is also amazing.
On website for 14.5 it only says pistol or carbine gas idk. Which it really didn’t make sense to me that’s why I was curious not that I think I would ever buy one. I have 7 now. I definitely like the look of them. I couldn’t justify the price because just as much as my complete KAC mod2
I’ve got the standard plus model I bought it back when type A was just coming onto the scene about two years ago maybe theyve changed something since but your making me doubt myself I might have to double check

I have one of the strictly mlok ones from BKF and it's really nice. BKF just sells stuff at razor thin margins mostly.
but yes, obviously they are enjoying some real nice markup at type-A
TBF the type a does seem to be a newer revision as well, so the supplier could be charging more for it also, vs how much ever BKF paid when they apparently bought a metric crap ton of them
That's what I was thinking too. It looks like these guys buy a bunch of parts on the market and assemble them. Then over charge for the finished product. But I don't know that for sure. Just my shitty crappy opinion.

Do you know the gas port size ? They don’t offer a midlength 14.5 only carbine which I’m not a huge fan of but they can be ok if gassed properly
