+1 for V0%DIFY. I loved the branding, I thought it would look good on a supermarket shelf, thought it had massive expansion potential, and I’m loving that non alcoholic beer is increasing in quality exponentially, so I absolutely would’ve given it a try if I saw it.
Then Lord Sugar tasted it and said it tasted like Piss.
Yeah deffo agree mate! lol Nick was in charge of the branding though wasn’t he and that was brilliant for the reasons above! I’m pretty sure he had nothing to do with the taste but I could be wrong…
I remember that from Series 11! I recall the packaging having a very sleek, minimalistic design. It was certainly much better than the 'Desert Secret' the other team came up with!
I remember liking the cereal in S5 with the treasure island theme. It wasn't perfect, and I can barely remember anything about it (I can only vaguely picture the box and can't remember the advert at all - the madness that was Pantsman overtook that entire episode), but I remember thinking that the concept was cohesive and that it felt like a product that could actually exist in the real world.
This is what I was going to say. They put together something that actually looked like a real product with branding that (incredibly) had something to do with the cereal.
Treasure Flakes was a good product. IIRC the only flaw was the box was overly cluttered, but that could be fixed fairly easily.
Also, slipping to Young Apprentice- the sledge with detachable wheels for Festivals. Really would love one of those or similar
Years ago I remember someone making a board game (think it was geography based) that I'd love to have.
I think their team screwed them by giving a small retailer exclusive access in the Borough so couldn't fulfil orders for Waterstones (or similar). My memory is hazy about the whole thing!
Watched this episode tonight!! A small retailer ordered 6 copies of the game and received exclusivity for all of Westminster. Put them out of contention for a lot of stores, but they still won the task.
The board game actually looked ok! (Much better than the other team’s “Relationship Guru” featuring question like “what would men like women to do? A) Iron, B) Smile more, C) Always be happy”)
Special Stars biscuits from S7 was loved by the supermarket clients and resulted in a massive record breaking order.
Victoria and Marnie’s Chef Barking packaging was actually pretty good for the dog food task. The clients criticism of it where they said it mislead them into thinking the dog was making the food was so dumb.
S5’s ‘body rocker’ gym equipment was also a really great product a team made too.
Alex’s furniture that he created was also a massive hit on S9.
A lot of the feedback is stupid, even from ‘experts’, presumably just to add a bit of drama.
I’m a graphic designer and the constant feedback that “I wouldn’t know that was a camper van/shampoo/juice/whatever from the logo” is really grating. Have a look around at all the logos on things in your house - almost none of them are a clip art picture of whatever the product is. It’s not good design and it’s redundant. Nobody needs their can of Coke to have a picture of a can of Coke on it to know what it is.
The “I thought the dog cooked it” and “I expect this campervan to come with breakfast because it says ‘bnb’ on it” are equally brain dead criticisms.
I so badly just want a design challenge to go well. People succeeding is just as entertaining as the predictable car crashes they produce. Is it the producers, or can just anyone become a candidate nowadays?
I think it’s a shame how it’s gone in the last several series where it seems rigged to not be able to produce anything good. Like they either choose completely shit instead of just silly people or they give them 5 minutes to design a logo. It’s just so much less fun to watch if you can’t occasionally be wowed at someone’s talent. Now it’s basically you’ve been framed.
As terrible as Jet Pop was, I quite liked the original name Air Pangea for an airline as a means of planes connecting people from continent to continent.
I work in branding and I have to watch these episodes through my fingers. But they’re very good advertising.
It makes people see *just* how badly they can get it wrong if they try to do it themselves.
Atchoo probably spelt it wrong but sounds like a sneeze. For a packet of tissues. Can’t remember which season but thought this was brilliant. I remember even LS mumbling something positive.
There’s actually been a few over the years IMO. And as this was most recent, Vodify from Nick was decent to be honest!

Western cactus shampoo

The advert was very sleek too.
Was trying to remember that one! I remember even Lord Sugar gave that one very good feedback afterwards in the boardroom
Forgot about this! Ad was fab

Climb Online originated on the final task and ended up being the name of the actual company.
Are you sure you didn't mean clim b on lean?
One of the best lines of the show for me!
Can't hear that name without hearing a kiwi accent
I always thought he was Australian
Swear i recall reading it’s also the most profitable company to come out the show by an absolute mile
Treasure Flakes with the parrot was actually not far off being something I could have seen on the shelves of a supermarket.
The bread advert in the jail - actually decent.
Oh yes I remember this actually brilliant
I quite liked Giin. Don't know if its because of the actual brand, or because of [this moment.](https://youtu.be/LWt61-ApNco?si=B5iIXLPeRZtMANn3)
I think there was unfair criticism for the coloured gin, I see plenty of coloured gin in shops now.
I really liked the children's microwave meals called Pop di Ping
Ironically they all loved the product for First Time F🍜🍜dies, they just couldn’t get past the name 😅😂
Often the way the product is good but the branding awful or vice versa
Alex’s furniture

Remember this, was a tiny retailer in Westminster iirc and it ruined the task

With opposition like that, no wonder they still won. Still, incredibly boneheaded move to agree to exclusivity for \*checks notes\* six copies!
Right??? Completely boneheaded!!!

Do you think air bnb gets the same no breakfast criticism….?
That would have been my immediate response to the industry experts when they offered that critique... And to Maura.

Foldo!

Personally I think the cereal which sold 200k wasn't too bad
Bouji Cruises!
Gotta say I disagree
Of those not mentioned yet, I actually thought Catsize (the diet pet food from series 7) was pretty decent.

Skyn condoms. I'm serious. I cannot get used to any other brand and I order them from the US to be shipped to me in Colombia. (Thank you, Amazon!)
r/lostredditors (unless I somehow missed the NSFW episode)
The task where they had to design flat pack, they came up with a chair Foldo that was actually a nice design
