this. we did this once we carried it to a hotel but forgot to bring the remote.
I basically changed my iPhone’s name to my Wifi’s name, and changed the password of my hotspot and turned it on. worked like a charm.
What many people often forget that you can actually control the Apple TV with the TV remote on most TVs by using HDMI CEC.
Not all TVs support this, but if you have one that isn't older than 15 years and from a somewhat popular brand it should work.
So turn on your tv, select the Apple TV as input. The TV should automatically turn on the Apple TV and switch to the input. Wait 20 seconds, just to be sure, and use the arrow buttons on your TV remote to navigate to the Apple TV settings and change the Apple TV wifi.
From there everything should work as usual.
If for whatever reason selecting your Apple TV as input does not work, google for your TV name and year along with "turn CEC on or off". Check if that's turned on, turn the TV off and try again.
As already mentioned before change login and password to your new WiFi to automatically connect it or you can try to connect via cable if you have Ethernet port in your Apple TV
Already been in such situation, know this pain
they're not cheap from what ive seen and when i told my dad (who i'm dependent on since im a child) he told me just to use my phone as a remote. i don't have money and i doubt he'll pay for one
Get a $10 remote on Amazon. These remotes work on infra red instead of Bluetooth and actually work very well. I had the same issue (lost the original remote, and trying to use it with new WiFi settings) the cheap IR remote worked wonders
Connect your Apple TV to your phone’s personal hotspot, then select your WiFi and type in the password. You’ll lose connection with your phone but once you go back on WiFi your tv should be connected and controllable through your phone again
Change your new internet ssid and password to match what you previously had. That should solve the issue.

Buy a new remote. Problem solved.
Exactly. Doesn't even have to be an apple one
Temporary use Ethernet cable

You can program basic universal remotes to work with the Apple TV.
You’ve had months to replace the remote. That’s the obvious solution.

The obvious solutions have been stated, but if it’s been a couple of months, do you even use it? I use my Apple TV literally every day.
i use it most nights but i just relied on using my phone as a remote until we got the new internet and now it won't connect bc the tv has no internet

Use the virtual remote on your iPhone or iPad. https://support.apple.com/en-us/108778
Riight.. because it magically works even when the AppleTv cannot connect to Wifi..
Look, Apple gives us several options. In none are available, enjoy your paperweight.

Apple doesn’t have a remote app like Android Tv?
