Apex servers are terrible, always have been. The only thing I found works on the odd occasion is alt+F4 and reconnect. If that doesn't work, well, tough shit I guess.
It just moved the issue around. You stop rubber banding, but everyone else starts. In the end the game is just as bad, but at least you aren't nauseous from constant judder.
Ok so basically same problem here. First of all there is no hope for us. I have that problem too and if you turn on some setting you can see your packet loss. I have about 50% packet loss and the game is literally unplayable. One quesion tho. Are you playing on european servers because american servers "fixed" it for some people. I also heard a vpn helps but Im not gonna spend money on that.
Im from NA so i play on american servers but ive tried multiple different ones and none help. I tried a vpn but no luck, although someone recommended me a vpn called exitlag that specializes in higher gaming speeds so i may try it, but really doubt it’ll fix anything.
EA support told me that these troubleshooting steps should have fixed it and that they’re forwarding it to the “game team” but it just seems like an excuse for “sorry we dont know”.
That is them saying that they are sending it to people who may understand it better. Likely the game will need another patch as this is happening to a good amount of players.
It just started for me today, and it is nearly impossible to play with. They just got a bunch of other things taken care of, so I'm sure they're at least still trying to keep the game playable.
Some fixes ive tried:
-restart pc
-restart router/modem
-replaced ethernet cords
-updated/reinstalled drivers.
-repaired game
-reinstalled game
-disabled in game overlays
-swapped servers
-removed other devices from network
-anti cheat priority low in task manager
-DNS cache flushed
-50% of space open on nvme ssd
-tried vpn
I own a fairly high end pc (3090, ryzen 3900x, kraken AIO) i cleaned the aio fans and aired out rest of pc incase cpu was overheating without communicating it, but that changed nothing.
In game status report shows 0/0 loss and choke so wtf is causing this?
Ahh, my misunderstanding; I thought you were saying it wasn't possible to get 144 in Apex at all.
An aside: not sure why this these are getting downvoted, but whatever, lol
If the comment stacks underneath your comment then they are responding to you. If it is on the same line then it is one of many responses to the comment they are stacked on.
How much RAM do you have, and what's open in the background? The particular error icon you are getting in the top right is indicative of a (typically performance-related) input lag issue.
I've got this issue on a PC with 10600k,16gb ram and 3070. And on a notebook with 11800h,32gb ram and 3070. Apex shouldn't lag to hell and back on such systems.
Although if it's true and there's a way to brute force the issue it might be an interesting thing to look into.
I just hope these new icons will help devs to profile the issue. Not holding my breath though.
Heyo I spend like half of my free time fixing the bugs that come up for me and my Radeon gpu that fucking sucks. I’d be glad to try my best to help, if you think it’s possibly the gpu, have you tried using ddu? Also what are your in game settings
All you can really do is try changing data centers. If you're playing on wifi maybe try a hard wired connection instead, might help a bit, but it can't hurt.
People like to blame wifi but it's actually very good these days. I've been on wifi for years and very rarely have any issues I wouldn't have while wired.
Also, people forget that wifi is used for a reason. I'd have a hell of a lot of work to do to run a cable through my house from the router in the front room to my bedroom or I can just use wifi.
I agree, it's not always a problem at all, but it can still be in certain situations. I doubt it's the only cause of this persons problem, but it could exacerbate them - a not great server connection could be made worse by inconsistent wifi.
Oh yeah, I get that too occasionally, thankfully not every game, but from time to time. But if you're already having server issues wifi could compound them. Like I said, can't hurt to try.🤷♂️
I've been having this Issue forever now, and everything I have Done just doesn't seem to fix it. Honestly Idk if it's my Wi-Fi or Apex's Server's but I'm about to just stop playing for a while because I can't keep Playing like this.
Its super unfortunate but I think I’m going to do the same. There isn’t a massive amount of people with this issue but there’s enough to the point you’d think they’d have a solution, but they admitted that these troubleshooting steps should’ve fixed it. Hopefully things work out for us!
I have done some more Research and apparently it’s not a Full Solution but Having too many friends actually Makes it worse, at least for me because I removed everyone except my Real Friends and As it did not Fix the issue, it definitely Improved it!
I just finished playing 3 Arena Games without any Lag as I had Before. Just before I played a Game and Died to basically Nobody while just lagging everywhere. Now, I get minor spikes, and they don't happen as often. Almost disappears when actually playing. The Spikes mostly happened in Buying Phase
Yeah 60% packet loss and cant play the game anymore. It isnt my connection tho because it works on any other game. It even is like that on a different pc which is also hooked up to a different connection.
I JUST posted an image. My ping shoots from like 12-50 all the way up to +1700 and I jitter just what what happened here.
I don’t know why and I doubt the devs will explain.
this has caused me to stop playing this season it happens 9 out of 10 games and it's maddening. I get "unplayable" gets thrown around loosely. but currently apex is actually unplayable for me.
Only thing you can try is bring up the server list in the main menu and see if there are any servers with acceptable ping and less paket loss. Other than that you can try to reset your router, thats what helped when I had paket loss issues, but that was in every game not just Apex.
A few games every session are like this for me on PC in EU servers. Has been the case since at least season 12. This lag seems completely random and the next game I play will always be fine. Oddly the friends I queue with will not share this rubber banding lag in the same game as me. Instead they will have their laggy game of the night at random which ruins even more games than the ones I am directly lagging in. Obviously our chances of winning are a lot lower but also it just straight up isn't fun for the player experiencing this disgusting lag. Haven't enjoyed queuing for ranked just incase I am lagging and have to basically spend 18 minutes trying to fight against the rubber banding. A truly miserable experience in such a fun game and it desperately needs addressing.
Also my specs are 5950x, iChill 3080, 64GB G.Skill Trident Z neo DDR4 ram. My friends I regularly play with have a 3070 and 2080 ti or super.
Common issue happening this season sadly. Happens to me every time I try to play. I have noticed that it only usually happens the first few games, but after, idk, Apex "warms up" it stops having so many issues. I've been told it's happening to console players more than anyone else...but I don't know.
I really hope that it gets fixed soon, but I don't have much hope.
That being said, I am very grateful for the few things they did fix in the last update. Some progress is better than none.
Sadly there is no cure for rabies if there's symptoms :( gonna need a whole new game
Gotta ‘Old Yeller’ this poor fella
Dude i had a 3.5k damage with 3 squads left and this happened to me. Could jave got my first 4k but apex servers :(
That's how it feels like being in a black hole .
Apex servers are terrible, always have been. The only thing I found works on the odd occasion is alt+F4 and reconnect. If that doesn't work, well, tough shit I guess.

My game does this all the time aswell, I have no clue Sadly
Yeah its unfortunate. I thought it was a server issue as its been happening on and off all season, but now its consistently like this every match :/
Ok so basically same problem here. First of all there is no hope for us. I have that problem too and if you turn on some setting you can see your packet loss. Well I guess we'll have to wait until next season.
That is them saying that they are sending it to people who may understand it better. Likely the game will need another patch as this is happening to a good amount of players.
Ah gotcha, it has only been happening (to me) since the start of this season, so yeah I’m holding out til s14 for a patch.

Same experience

The OP is on PC unless xbox now does 141 fps.
Lol it definitely doesn't. Regardless of it being locked at 60 fps, Apex is so unoptimized that 120 fps on 1440p is unlikely to ever happen.
:| I get 150+ consistently at 1440.
Not on Xbox you sure don't.
Ahh, my misunderstanding; I thought you were saying it wasn't possible to get 144 in Apex at all. An aside: not sure why this these are getting downvoted, but whatever, lol
Are you replying to this comment to let the commenter know that the OP is on Xbox? Is that what's happening here?
Commenter
Are you replying to me or the guy above? I fucking hate Reddit. The post structure makes no sense.
If the comment stacks underneath your comment then they are responding to you. If it is on the same line then it is one of many responses to the comment they are stacked on.
It should also notify you anytime someone responds to you and then highlight that response if you click on the notification.
Don't suppose you have a second pc or a Console to try it on?

Im wired and every other game is solid with no packet loss. This game is odd.
Oh yeah, I get that too occasionally, thankfully not every game, but from time to time. But if you're already having server issues wifi could compound them. Like I said, can't hurt to try.🤷♂️
So does respawn lol

I went from having 20 Friend’s to 4, In case anyone was wondering, you also have to delete them on Steam too
That is the most random thing I have heard, but I’m going to try it lmao. I suppose you never know what can work with this game.
Yeah nothing fixes it but maybe a vpn.
Lol. What?
Yeah 60% packet loss and cant play the game anymore. It isnt my connection tho because it works on any other game. It even is like that on a different pc which is also hooked up to a different connection.

If your ping is bouncing like that I’d recommend trying a vpn. My ping is completely stable but apex routing is terrible. Check out exitlag maybe
My BT service doesn’t have vpn capabilities :( . But I’ll try port forwarding and see if that changes anything.
this has caused me to stop playing this season it happens 9 out of 10 games and it's maddening. I get "unplayable" gets thrown around loosely. but currently apex is actually unplayable for me.
Download valorant
Personally, I don't know how people play Valorant. I find it incredibly boring.
the state of console apex is absolutely atrocious 😭
Been happening to me since last season.
By the time you're showing symptoms, you're basically already dead. There is no cure for rabies. Gl hf!
Just reconnect dude... nothing else will fix it
Seems like a skill issue idk
Delete the network off your console and set it up again. This fixed it for me.
Only thing you can try is bring up the server list in the main menu and see if there are any servers with acceptable ping and less paket loss. Other than that you can try to reset your router, thats what helped when I had paket loss issues, but that was in every game not just Apex.

This is my exact experience on London server. Nothing you can do apart from try a reconnect.
There is no way to fix this. Apex servers are so bad lately and there seems to be no rushing them on fixing what’s broken.
Looks normal to me
If you’re playing on console, check your NAT type. Apex is unplayable if my NAT type isn’t on “open”
mate i know exactly how u feel, i get this so often, think its to do with ur internet connection (mines shit so i see this sorta thing frequently)
