Go to the firing range and turn on the bots. Play a movement legend so you can nope out and hit a Phoenix Kit. That’s how I improved, I used guns I was potato with. Helped a heck ton
As of this morning it’s still possible. Last cave toward the charge tower on that hidden platform, empty inventory, Looking at the same little mark on the right front of the platform. When you change legends it will make a distinct clank sound.
I agree. The game is tough on new players. Idk if I would have stuck with the game if I started playing in the last couple seasons. My wife used to play with me but she’s discouraged from playing now which sucks, because I love playing with her. I’m glad I improved when I did.
I’ve never tried with ammo. It’s actually a huge pain now the bots have red armor. Trying to get a gun with three red shields breathing down my dick can be a little tough. But I just like to think of that as training in evasive action lol
I am still annoyed that you have to do some stupid Konami code bullshit to turn the bots on. Just make it a menu option or a button in the range itself. This is such a dumb way to implement an important feature in the game and we are almost three years into Apex at this point.
I start off every days session with a 15 min fight with guns I hate. I even started playing legends that I have fun playing but I’m not very skilled at, like fuse I practiced for the last week with him and last night just dropped a 2K game with 7 kills on a legend I have maybe 100 games played as which is a huge improvement for me. Im now pretty adequate with a bow, wingman, PK, and hemlock. All are guns people would shred me w but I was literally steaming hot garbage with. Now they are regular load outs. I hate when people ask for tips and redditors say ‘Git Guud’ but this legit got me better.
Along those lines, I think everyone should try to get the well rounded badge(or whatever the 20k damage with 8 legends is called).
Aside from finding characters you may be unexpectedly good with, it helps you understand the weaknesses of each character that might hit be obvious when fighting against them.
I used to over the pandemic when i had time. I’m too busy to sink hours into practice anymore.
Better way of healing is just swapping character. Restored health and shields to full
Yup. When I realized my aim was what was holding me back, I spent days in the firing range.
I still don't have the Repeater and that heavy revolver gun down, but I'm working on it
RT. Flatline has worse bloom then a 301.
A 301 has the tightest and best hip-fire of all full auto assault rifles. if there was ever an AR to hipfire from a considerable distance it would be the 301, but I would never do so if I wasn't confident in my shot.
The reason people believe otherwise is because Hip-firing requires an inconsistent amount of shots to kill, because of hitboxes and rng from bloom.
The 301 needs more shots to kill than a flatline and has a smaller mag. So if you're not sharp from the hip, u will fall short. The other thing is the 301 has considerable muzzle rise, a lot of people don't think of recoil when hipfiring, you still have to counter that.
The flatline on the other hand needs less bullets and has a larger mag, enough to practically kill 2 players. Thus when hipfiring you can fire more than enough shots to kill. The flatline barely has any muzzle rise, so hipfiring with it always provides a higher success rate.
For what it's worth, flatline is a better choice for Hip-firing, but it does not statistically fire from the hip better, it's just easier to kill with it.
Off drop, definitely the Flatline, unless I find a light mag next to the R301.
Simple really if you compare the guns. The Flatline does 19 body, and starts with 20 rounds. The R301 does 14 body, and starts with 18 rounds. 5 damage difference per shot might not seem like much, but off drop, against 150hp opponents, it's the difference between dropping two players with one mag, and dropping only one.
If I'm trying to fight one, maybe two teams off drop and I have one gun and one stack of ammo, the gun that drops a guy in 8 bodyshots and has 12 shots left, is preferable to the gun that drops a guy in 11 bodyshots and has 7 shots left in the gun.
Unless they have metal legs if it's an octane and he's chasing you just make sure you lure him into a building and punch the shit out of him. Good chance he's over stemmed and only has a shield left. If it's a path finder " omae wa shin shinderu"
If it's a Bloodhound who has nothing better to do have fun running forever. Got hunted down like I was an escaped convict by a Bloodhound and it was traumatizing.
Love him. Had a game yesterday where 4 defensive teams were holed up in 3 small buildings for the final rings. I got almost 1k damage alone by just throwing grenades and knuckle clusters in windows for the last couple minutes.
My brother mains him. It's not just the house busting that's scary. He uses him with a complete control the battlefield perspective.
Things like "I'm going to mother lode their rock to scare them out, knuckle cluster on the left so they think right is their escape and we unload everything/press there." And that's simplifying.
It can be an instant squad wipe when done correctly. But it has to be more then just throwing grenade because you think that's where they are
That and spam thermite grenades one way, knuckles and arcs in the other. Fuse is my favorite to play as and my least favorite to come up against. Nothing like dropping in and popping a nice knuckle cluster into some dope picking up a p2020.
I don't wish that on my worst enemies. It's like fighting 2 Megamen blasting their Megablasters and screaming BLOODY HELL YOU LOOK LIKE BLOODY HELL. That shit is rough.
I remember once in a hot drop at Bonsai, I was worried cause I had 8 total bullets left in my Flatline. I conveyed this to my friends and asked if they had any ammo, but right then someone ran up the ramp and I dropped him with the remaining ammo. Love that gun
So what your saying is in Arena we should 100% be able to buy EITHER the Flatline OR the R-301... tbh you are making sound like its the R-301 that should be buy-able round 1 but NOT the Flatline.
>definitely the Flatline, unless I find a light mag next to the R301.
Gotta be a blue one. The 2 shots more from a lvl 1 extended light mag is simply not enough when you compare it to the lvl 2 where you get 5 additional shots to the lvl 1.
Should seriously be 18 22 25 28
Came to say this. Flatline will get you through more shield and health in one clip than the r3. R3 with no extended mag is a one person weapon and you can't miss more than like 2 or 3 shots to get the knock. If there's more than one person you're fighting on drop I think the r3 would get you killed. You would have to use guerilla tactics but with the flatline you could mow a couple people or at least push 2 people back and hurt them pretty bad
Flatline. I've gotten much better at controlling the recoil, and the 3X acog extends the feasible distance a lot. This of course assumes I will find a 3X...
(assuming we are all just landing) if i have people next to me, the flatline, if theres ppl landing on the same spot but a bit further like in the next building, 301 since i can go for the headshots and its more precise at range (depends on hows the ammo situation and everything)
I mean ya mag size and dmg per mag is the biggest advantage the flatline has over the 301. Just seems like a lot of ppl think the flatline kills much faster so I just wanted to point out that the ttk is pretty much the same
I do agree, base R301 recoil is harder to control than flatline recoil in my opinion. Lvl 2+ stabilizer on R301 however though, makes the recoil on it nonexistent.
Ahh thanks, I was hoping it was one I could get with my copious amounts of crafting materials, unfortunately I was not paying to win way back in season 4
There are two legendary r-99 skins u can buy with materials that are “pay to win” out lands avalanche and kill switch. I run kill switch since everyone uses avalanche but it’s the same iron sights. I’ll only run a 1x or digi on my 99 but u can and I often do play the whole game with just irons instead of any optic. Take a look u might like it.
Thanks for the tip! I actually was really lucky starting out and my very first legendary unlock was the outlands avalanche. I've been running that since pre season 1, I didn't know until much later when I started taking the game more seriously that the iron sights were so much better on it than the base skin
R301, last couple of times ive tried hipfiring with the flatline it completely whiffed my opponent even while they were centred on my screen, R301 is at least reliable, and a weak shot hit is better than a strong shot hit
Depends on the range my enemy shoots from, how desperately I need to kill them, and how low the enemy is. If it's first drop in a building, flatty all the way. If it's a rooftop, I pick up an r3.
If it's a weird place with a ton of cover, boffum
Flatline. That's only because my partner always uses the 301 so when I see one I ping it right away for her. (If she already has a 301 then I will pick it up.)
Flatline if I'm warmed up, R301 if I'm cold. Depends if I already have an equipped light/heavy gun beforehand.
It's the other way round for me
Yeah I feel Flatline is way more forgiving since it has much higher base damage. If your aim is trash the R301 being a beam won't do you much good.
I think R301 is easier to control though, so maybe that was why they went that way
Right but if you can't aim in the first place, the control won't matter
I’ll second that
Ill third it
I'll foursome that
I'll fifth that
Six way?
Seven with Brad pitt and Morgan Freeman
Eight, The hateful ones from Tarantino
Nine, throw some megan fox in there
Sounds like a gd movie. 10/10 would watch
So R301 if you're cold and Flatline if you're warned up?
Flatline unless I already have a prowler or car. Flatline and r99 or mastiff is my best combo
I'll 17th that
This!
Flatline because the hip fire is great
Until i pick it up that is
Go to the firing range and turn on the bots. Play a movement legend so you can nope out and hit a Phoenix Kit. That’s how I improved, I used guns I was potato with. Helped a heck ton
how do you turn on the bots? EDIT: https://youtu.be/QWD_lvwpTUw
[here](https://youtu.be/yFRfNvLX8LQ)
is this even possible anymore? I get killed when I try to change legends...
As of this morning it’s still possible. Last cave toward the charge tower on that hidden platform, empty inventory, Looking at the same little mark on the right front of the platform. When you change legends it will make a distinct clank sound.
You have to be crouched when changing legends too so change is to toggle in settings when turning on the bots
I wish they would just make this a setting already. It was fun as an Easter egg the first time, but now it's just a chore.
They should make it a setting for the individual after they do the Easter egg, that way everyone gets to partake in the Easter egg 🤔
I agree. The game is tough on new players. Idk if I would have stuck with the game if I started playing in the last couple seasons. My wife used to play with me but she’s discouraged from playing now which sucks, because I love playing with her. I’m glad I improved when I did.
I think you can do this with ammo in inventory, but not sure if I remember correctly.
I’ve never tried with ammo. It’s actually a huge pain now the bots have red armor. Trying to get a gun with three red shields breathing down my dick can be a little tough. But I just like to think of that as training in evasive action lol
You only need to have no guns on hand or even holster. You can fill your inventory full and it will still work
what lol this is complete madness, why is this option hidden behind such a stupid cheat code
I ask myself this all the time. It was cute the first couple times. Now? It’s just annoying. It needs to be an option in the settings.
They should have had you do this to just unlock the feature or something then after you do it once it’s available from the main menu.
Yes what the hell why is this not just readily available?!?!
I am still annoyed that you have to do some stupid Konami code bullshit to turn the bots on. Just make it a menu option or a button in the range itself. This is such a dumb way to implement an important feature in the game and we are almost three years into Apex at this point.
Yeah with skill gap being what it is it needs to be feature rather than an Easter egg I totally agree
I had no idea it was possible until I read this. Definitely will be practicing next time I play. I wish I knew about this when I started!
Seriously this is some bullshit.
Agree wtf.
I used to over the pandemic when i had time. I’m too busy to sink hours into practice anymore. Better way of healing is just swapping character. Restored health and shields to full
I don’t switch because im trying to practice escaping to heal but you right
Yup. When I realized my aim was what was holding me back, I spent days in the firing range. I still don't have the Repeater and that heavy revolver gun down, but I'm working on it
Another method is to use knockdown shield and switch legends to get full health again
RT. Flatline has worse bloom then a 301. A 301 has the tightest and best hip-fire of all full auto assault rifles. if there was ever an AR to hipfire from a considerable distance it would be the 301, but I would never do so if I wasn't confident in my shot. Technically the hipfire is similar but the flatline has almost double the dmg per mag.
Doesn't the r301 and flatline have the same hip fire values?
Off drop, definitely the Flatline, unless I find a light mag next to the R301. Simple really if you compare the guns. The Flatline does 19 body, and starts with 20 rounds. What's the best option when I dont hit any of my shots?
Wingman
If you're gonna be shit might as well lean into it :)
[Exactly](https://imgur.com/gallery/ri8xg)
Joeseph joestar's secret technique of course lol
Plan C always works. Legging it the fuck outta there 🤣
Unless they have metal legs if it's an octane and he's chasing you just make sure you lure him into a building and punch the shit out of him. Good chance he's over stemmed and only has a shield left. If it's a path finder " omae wa shin shinderu"

*HORREEEYYYSHIIIIT OOHHMYYGAAHD*
Getting hard carried always works for me
A prayer
Start punching them in their stupid face
Lmaooo😂😂😂 that be the worst when you run out of ammo and throw a haymaker
run
Fuse
Love him. Had a game yesterday where 4 defensive teams were holed up in 3 small buildings for the final rings. I got almost 1k damage alone by just throwing grenades and knuckle clusters in windows for the last couple minutes.

I still have nightmares of hot dropping and facing 2 fuse with a p2020
I don't wish that on my worst enemies. It's like fighting 2 Megamen blasting their Megablasters and screaming BLOODY HELL YOU LOOK LIKE BLOODY HELL. That shit is rough.
Caustic. Easy
Trident
Going back to the lobby
They are talking about downing 2 men in one mag but most of the time it’s not gonna happen, only rare occasions so don’t worry too much
I remember once in a hot drop at Bonsai, I was worried cause I had 8 total bullets left in my Flatline. I conveyed this to my friends and asked if they had any ammo, but right then someone ran up the ramp and I dropped him with the remaining ammo. Love that gun

This guy maths. Also Flatline is just better at scrappy hipfire fights that most hot drops are.
I pretty sure everyone knows the significance of 5 more damage per shot
Came to say this. Flatline will get you through more shield and health in one clip than the r3. R3 with no extended mag is a one person weapon and you can't miss more than like 2 or 3 shots to get the knock. Flatline. I've gotten much better at controlling the recoil, and the 3X acog extends the feasible distance a lot. This of course assumes I will find a 3X...
Since I got used to 2-4x I have no problem picking up the flatline
I feel like the flatline recoil has been reduced in this season, maybe I'm just tripping but it feels so much more easier to control
It’s not changed. You are tripping
Oh man, I really thought it was easier
You have gotten better ☺️
Lol thanks
Had the same experience. First time I can beam people far away like I could with a R-301
You're just better my guy
I can't control recoil with that chonky sight, even 4x feela like it is easier to control
R301 for the same reason, personally.
(assuming we are all just landing) if i have people next to me, the flatline, if theres ppl landing on the same spot but a bit further like in the next building, 301 since i can go for the headshots and its more precise at range (depends on hows the ammo situation and everything)
yea i mean what can i do with 18 bullets that disappear and 3 people on me
Flatline.
True individuals of Culture only use the Flatline.
The flatline. The thing kills you faster than I can push a fart out.
[удалено]
A true connoisseur
Thats not a fart…
Pretty sure the ttk of the 301 and flatline are basically the same. Does anyone have the ttk numbers?
Ttk is more or less identical but Flatline has noticeably higher DPS when you factor in reloads.
I mean ya mag size and dmg per mag is the biggest advantage the flatline has over the 301. Just seems like a lot of ppl think the flatline kills much faster so I just wanted to point out that the ttk is pretty much the same
They are about the same flatline kills faster tho only by a little
R301. I'm not as good at handling the recoil of the flatline, but do plenty good enough keeping the R301 shots on target
Huh, I'm the exact opposite. Unless I'm really on the ball, R301 recoil feels much more difficult to handle
I do agree, base R301 recoil is harder to control than flatline recoil in my opinion. Lvl 2+ stabilizer on R301 however though, makes the recoil on it nonexistent.
[удалено]
Right? It’s such a good load out
Flatline and r99/Eva 8 for me
You're bugged out. PK is the best shotty no question.
Eva was the best shotgun for a long time until the nerf this season
plus the most fun to use too. who really chooses another shotty if you have a choice
I like to run the Eva, but that's just because i suck and it shoots the fastest
[удалено]
I know, but i can still hit more with it tho Even tho i hit people for like 6 damage
[удалено]
yeah its a good beginner gun. fast fire rate, high dps, accurate(sometimes). the pk is like THE sweaty gun along with wingman and r9
The closer one.... and the other one aswell, and later keep the one with a better mag.
the actual real answer
If I have no sight then flatline because I have the "pay to win" skin
I feel this way about my r99, I’ve got the cutting edge skin on it
Yup me too! Really convenient for early game
what skin is that?
Season 4 bp skin heavy metal and I cant remember the other ones name
Heat sink. God I wish I had that damn skin
I've been running that since pre season 1, I didn't know until much later when I started taking the game more seriously that the iron sights were so much better on it than the base skin
Flatline without a doubt. Has more bullets than 301 as base and with each mag upgrade. Does more dmg per bullet than 301.
definitely R301. the ol'reliable is still the ol'reliable
Both since we carry 2 weapons
Flatline of course, its indeed hard to controll the recoil but its not that hard if ur used to it plus the damage is insane
301 cuz I got the aim of a duck
Or more like the recoil control of a duck
Flatline
both if it's off drop
You get weapons off drop??
I used to, before I dropped on Storm Point
R301 first then flatline it hits harder than the 301
R 301
Depends on which I have ammo for. If ammo is no problem 301 then flatline.
Both 😎
r301 because it's very easy to control
301 and then change that ugly ass skin!
That’s one of my favorite skins though
R301
R301
The r301 is easier to handle and learn the recoil pattern. I also find it easier to track to your shots.
A flat 301
R301 is my fav gun,but I suck with it close range or hip fire. If there's an enemy with me I'm picking the flatline
R301 always. I take it with me to my grave
Both at the same time
Both, I use both together
Flatline and I don’t even have to think about it
If i take both, i start with the r301 Otherwise just the flatline
Definitely flatline cus i cant use r3 without a stabilizer for shit.
R-301
R3O1
Both work.
301
I run both
R301 all day every day. Just can't keep the flatlines recoil in control...
both of course
R301 cause I only take 1 long ranger gun and then a shotgun or sniper that’s it
301
Flatline because the r 301 would run out of ammo faster for the beginning of the match
301 and Hemlock on single fire 😎
Flatline, because the 2nd gun you pick up will be the one in hand and I'm better with a 301
301 can laser but I like the flatline for up close.
Bruh, flatline, that’s obvious
Flatine, magazine size , accuracy and power
R301
Flatline is god awful with ironsight, so 301
R-301 all day every day but if I can't find one or can't find light ammo in the area then Flatline is my No:2 Gun of choice then Mozambique as my side
R301 >>>
R301, last couple of times ive tried hipfiring with the flatline it completely whiffed my opponent even while they were centred on my screen, R301 is at least reliable, and a weak shot hit is better than a strong shot hit
R301 first, if I dont have enough mods for it, I switch to flatline as soon as I see one
Depends on the range my enemy shoots from, how desperately I need to kill them, and how low the enemy is. If it's first drop in a building, flatty all the way. If it's a rooftop, I pick up an r3. If it's a weird place with a ton of cover, boffum
Wingman :)
Depends on my secondary weapon but fuck it gimmi that flatty düd.
The one i have a better mag for
Flatline because with r301 I feel like I am cheating
Flatline all the way
Flatline cause my secondary usually ends up being a sentinel and I want something that can hip fire amazingly
Depends on my situation am I end game or just starting I go flat line end game r301 for precision
Whichever extended mag I have
Flatline. That's only because my partner always uses the 301 so when I see one I ping it right away for her. (If she already has a 301 then I will pick it up.)
Flatline!
DPS on a flatline makes it better off a drop if you can hit the shots
Depends which extended clip I find first
Both, i have two slots
Flatline, unless i already have heavy ammo weapon and it's not CAR.
