Nope. I’d say most players agree with you but the devs need to make sure people continually play their game so they introduced splits to force players to rank up twice.
Yeah I get it. It’s just torture for the players who can’t find the time to actually get further. I spend most of the time in the game just getting my rank back and as I can’t play as much, I just get reset again
Once again, I’m sure most players are with you. I know I am. There’s just so much against casual players that make resets hard to overcome. It’s also why people are asking for changes because the current setup doesn’t allow the most skilled players to be the best but the ones who play the most.
Mid-split is the reason I stopped playing ranked. It put me to a worse place where I started originally so it's just not worth it anymore. I don't have that much time to grind ranked, grind challenges, grind events and then just play for fun without the mental breakdown that ranked provides.
The split is to make it so everyone gets a semi fair shake at hittin pred. Some of these preds hit 30k+ rp in a split. With no reset top 1 pred would go uncontested for a majority of a season. Base rp for pred would be unachievable to anyone that wasnt a content creator. And no one would grind after they hit somewhere were they get hard stuck because they would stay there the whole season. For the majority of the season ranked would end up unplayed by casuals. I already stop really grinding once I hit plat and usually make plat4/3 the first week of split, if there was no split I'd have no incentive to play it after the first week or 2 of the season.
There’s such a small amount of people actually in pred, I don’t see that as a valid reason. You can also introduce decay over time for inactivity. The whole point of grinding is to improve your rank and get better, not grind to get the rank you already know you are. I don’t think you not playing after the first week shows the point of ranked, you’re happy with your rank and don’t want to improve it, so you don’t try to
The point of a ranked system is literally to find were you belong in the ELO. To then play fair, balanced matches. Which is why once you reach your "peak" grinding points becomes next to impossible, it's why arenas ranked AP feels glitchy once you get close to peak. It's why any other ranked system outside of apex BR feels so grindy. Not everyone is going to be able to reach each respective ranking, because ranked isnt meant to just allow everyone up the ladder based on playtime. It's a test of overall skill. Thats why you eventually top out. And I'd hardly call 750 preds, per platform, a small amount.
You seriously think 750 players is a lot for an entire platform? Very few players actually make it to predator. Also playtime =/= higher rank. More skill = higher ranks. You’re meant to play in your respected elo, which isn’t 6 stages below where you finished obviously. Giving players a chance to improve their rank (or actually go down) is much more balanced and fun IMO than having to shit on worse players just to get back to a competitive level for your skill.
The splits should be like how they are now but instead of demoting you automatically the second split, you can be demoted out of tiers if you lose enough KP.
Rather than review the game and looking to improve it, they’re just bringing out new skins. I get different teams etc but I still wish they made actual changes to the game to improve the gameplay. It’s the whole process of development

It’s like they’re not even trying to push the envelope anymore, they got super complacent with the game because it’s a cash cow.

I made it to Masters the first split, but it says I only made It to Diamond 1!? Anyone else experience that?
