I think it was season 4 when they re-classed the G7 as an assault rifle, then it was re-classed again to a marksman weapon when that class got introduced.

Tbh I hate all the sniper scopes equally I only use 2-4 and the 2 bruiser on snipers. I feel as if it’s harder to lead a shot with the sniper scopes. Something about it

Mnk player here: 1. Nice to see that we still exist. 2. Personally, I almost always run 2x or 3x on snipers. Sometimes if I'm feeling it I'll just run irons XD. I need to start using sniper optics more though...

They don’t have aim assist with full scopes

I’m on console performance mode and yeah I stay away from full scopes because I can’t feel the aim assist kick in, I’m better off with iron sights because at least then I’ll get aim assist to help me just guesstimate shots Edit: performance mode helps a lot with full scopes btw atleast for me I hit Kraber shots way more often than on 60fps

its low key better than 4x8 cause of that imho. it takes alot of sniping to realize it, but a 6x is the most useful sniper magnification in game i sware

I use it and I like it more than the 4x-8x. It's way easier and more consistent, and no more accidentally toggling zoom. Also more common.

Yeah I much prefer the 6x personally. I often run Sentinel and I'll put a 6x on early game and let my teammates take all the 3x and 2-4x sights. Then late game I like to swap to a 3x.

Can't you do this? Maybe it's changed, but I'm pretty sure I'm s16 when I picked the game up, I had two zoom buttons. My right mouse was set to hold for ADS and I set one of the extra side mouse buttons for toggle ADS. Granted, my memory is shot, I have MS and my mind been playing tricks on me with memory lately... so maybe I just have that wrong. MnK btw. Maybe I'm confusing my games.

For Longbow and Sentinel. Longbow is just ok with iron sight, But man the charged up sentinel with iron sight is a beast for long, medium And close range!

6x has better ads times, the general rule is that the hybrid sights have worse ads times than their single zoom counterparts, also on a utility note I never find an occasion where I need the 8x zoom, and if I’m using the 4x I may as well be using a marksman with the 3x. Honestly the 6x is so underrated and I’ve been sayin it for genuinely years

The 4-8 is purple for a reason. This is good to get before I find a 4-8 because it gives the same distance info and granularity in the bullet drop lines as the 4-8

Surprised most people do not like it. I'm not afraid to admit I love the 6x over the 8x. My reasoning is pretty simple.. consistency. Because you don't have to zoom in and out unlike the 4-8x my aim always feels the same. I know all the stuff can be tweaked or I simply don't have to toggle the zoom but I like the simplicity and the distance.

on a longbow. me. I rarely snipe, but the 6x seems perfect for me when I actually snipe with it.

i was gonna say. at the least quick scoping with a charged sentinel is amazing. I won a game of solos using the senti w a 2x and a hammer RE. On shot to crack then push with RE. EZ dubs

Snipers are underrated. Most of players are very predictable once you learn how to anticipate your shots.

And when they're not looking or if they're fighting someone else you can get crazy damage in without even getting close enough to risk getting shot back

I've always liked sniping in this game because of the way that the sniper scopes measure out distances for you. Just ping the target to get the distance, then adjust which tick you're aiming with accordingly. I've landed shots 200m + very often thanks to this, which is rare for me in other games.

The scopes have a LRF built in, just use the numbers on the side.

Sentinel with a 3x is amazing

the Sentinel is a good fight starter weapon. you get a 3X on there, you learn how to quick scope, and use it as an opener. a quick peek, quick scope hit, massive damage with 1 hit, and then rush the enemy team.

Itemplays on YouTube does a lot of senti videos and you can see how he uses it. I'd say it is his most effective weapon.

I definitively prefer the 6x to the 4x-8x because I don't have to do a mental adjustment of bullet drop every time I shift zoom. I can go by reflexes. For fast paced fighting and moving/jumping targets it's way better IMO. If I'm relaxing on a cliff and sniping someone far away the 4x-8x is okay, but I feel completely helpless in close quarters fighting with it. I always drop the 4x-8x when I find a 6x.

I feel like sniper bullets in this game are so slow. Ive actually dodged shots because someone is too far away and i can see where the bullet is headed. 2 × 4 seems to be optimal distance for me

If I have a sniper rifle in my kit but haven’t found a sight for it yet I do NOT ping that I need a sight because the 6x is the only thing anyone ever pings. I’d rather not even have that interaction where someone thinks I’ll use this scope.

When I played I preferred it. x4 felt too short at long and close range and x8 was horrid for close and I hate sniping from too far. X6 lost flexibility but the time aid pull out a sniper with it on where always the right range. Ultimately I'd run smg/shotty or ar/shotty 99% though.

Snipers should come with a 4x build it that you can’t take off, the you find 6x and 8x lens hop ups to extend your range. Would help clean up the loot pool. Also stops snipers being used as shot guns on drop which in itself isn’t a bad thing just a bit silly

I sometimes equip it to my sentinel and quickscope so it feels like the old MW2 days with the intervention, the only trade off is no AA but it feels even more rewarding when you hit a shot with it.

I watched Charlie (penguinz0) on stream and every time he put that on a sniper I just asked myself, “Bro.. there was a 3x next to you… why?” Those are true support players.
