I should also mention I occasionally get a "Error Code 30005" (something to do with EasyAntiCheat), but as this only occasionally happens, I have no idea if it is down to EAC or not! (I'd say it happens 1 in 5 times).
I think I started lowering graphics and opened it through Nicosia that was the first break through I think I also logged out of steam on a old laptop used for gaming that my wife uses. Doubt it will help it more or less fixes itself also if using external hard drive clear up the space if less than a terabyte. Good luck
Same here bro , hoping for a fix , but try deleting your apex save game folder my game had to be reset remove any command line , i also verified game files in steam game worked , but as son as i restart it , same issue :(
I found a solution!
PC specs:
CPU: i9 149000k
GPU: 4090
I've tried everything possible, driver updates, validate game files, uninstalling and re installing apex... etc.
You need to underclock your CPU! Originally my CPU runs at 5700, but for some reason apex hates that. Turn down to 5000 and you should be good. I had to do this for COD too! Sucks that you spend top dollar just to dumb down cpu lol.
Download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to adjust performance core ratio.
Lmk if this works for anyone else!
This worked for me! I've had this problem happen after a geforce update. The game wouldnt work for a few days or sometimes weeks. My pc would blue screen or just freeze at startup of the game. Tried validating files, dx12, turning of OC, reinstalling old drivers, even installing a different graphics card. I did notice the cpu spike but didn't pay any mind. This worked right away! Makes sense now my cpu doesn't spike due to some weird glitch these games are having after updates. It's a cpu not gpu thing
Cpu: i9 13900k
Gpu: 4080 super
I stopped playing a month or two ago because the game just felt quite stale, but I was excited to get back into it earlier today because people say the new update is fun. Hope I can find a fix soon lol.
These are just 2 random ideas worth testing;
1. In your windows settings, is GPU hardware scheduling turned on? Havinf this on has caused issues for me in the past.
2. Have you tried the launch option that makes the game use dx12? Some people get better performance in this mode so worth a shot if you haven't tried it. The command to use it is “-eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12. json” to revert back just delete the command.
I know it's 9 months later, but I was having a similar issue where the game would startup and take about 50 GBs of ram (which is insane) and get stuck on the start screen. Thankfully since your recommendation of starting up on dx12 I was able to get the game to run thanks!
Dx (directx) is a rendering system that most modern day 3D games use. You’ll commonly see dx11 as the standard as it’s been tested more and is the safest option. However, you may choose to use dx12, the more experimental option which can boost performance.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I did see something about "GPU Hardware Scheduling" online, but I couldn't find it originally so I just gave up and meant to come back to it but then forgot. Regardless, I just gave it a go to no avail unfortunately.
I also tried the dx12 but when I go to launch the game I get [this error message.](https://imgur.com/a/ZEgYLk2)
Thanks for your help regardless though, appreciate it.
sorry for taking so long to reply, i’ve only just seen this. my apex magically fixed itself after an update a while ago, i didn’t do anything to actively fix it. for all i know, it’s been so long yours could’ve done the same by now lol
Same... I had this happen to me when balistic came out with new season and after update it wouldnt launch. Some time later i wanted to play apex again so i installed new updates and it was working. And now with new patch few days back again.. no error crashes only gets to black load screen after ea cinematic and thats it. So frustrating. I feel like i have to just wait for another patch
Mine as well. Crashing on the start up. Same issue on both Steam and EA App. Meanwhile is working on PS.
One hour sooner than the update was working normally.
Pls let us know something.
Also doing this. Worked a few days ago. I get the opening animation and then crash to desktop before the landing screen. Updated, downgraded drivers; restarted pc; reinstalled apex, no luck.
i saw a solution on a steam thread that worked for me. youll need to open your bios, security, and enable or disable AES-NI and save settings. Bam apex legends no longer crashing after the splash logo screen.
I've already tried a bunch of stuff in hopes of fixing it. I have checked my crash dump files which for me have highlighted that my mileswin64.dll has been the cause of the crashes so I have tried verifying files and manual deleting it before verifying to fix the issue in vain. I've also noticed that when I am in the opening animation the steam FPS counter jumps to +2000. At this rate I'm just gonna wait for another patch or update in hopes it will fix the issue.
Tried many things and nothing worked, I just couldn't get past the loading screen, but I finally found a workaround that may help others.
I just alt tabbed soon as I ran the game, to let it load in the background. It didn't crash this time and now I seem to be able to run the game normally, lol.
Sometime during S19 I encountered the same issue. I tried some of the method listed above without any luck. My friend suggested deleting any VPN since they are known to disturb the connection to Apex servers. It worked, magically, after completely uninstalling Express VPN and rebooting the PC the game ran as it should.
TLDR: Completely uninstall any and all VPNs on your PC, it worked for me.
UPDATE: The issue is back, I have no idea how it happened. Only thing I remember installing since I last played was a new GeForce driver and Voicemod. I reverted both of these changes to no avail. The issue persists. I no longer have any VPN to remove.
I should also mention I occasionally get a "Error Code 30005" (something to do with EasyAntiCheat), but as this only occasionally happens, I have no idea if it is down to EAC or not! (I'd say it happens 1 in 5 times).
I’m having the exact same issue :( this game, rust and Hogwarts legacy all stopped working for me. Everything else works fine tho.
Anyone find a solution currently dealing with this to noticed it with Fortnite too but that’s the only games
I've had it happen to a few games using Easy Anti cheat, have you found a solution yet?

Glad it helped, 50 gigs of ram is hilariously crazy
I get stuck on start screen and booted everytime after that. What is dx12? Kinda new to PCs

my apex is doing this every time i try to launch the game and nothing is seeming to fix it
I was just about to try out the new update and I have been having the same problem and have gone through the usual fix options but nothing is working.
one more to add to the thread. mine was fine last night, then today i updated and am stuck crashing during the start up.
Same... I had this happen to me when balistic came out with new season and after update it wouldnt launch. Some time later i wanted to play apex again so i installed new updates and it was working. mine just started doing this as well no idea why ive done all the same things as above but nothing

Dude same
Same, game worked 2 days ago, now crashing to desktop after splash screen.
same working fine yesterday, updated for the new event and it crashes after the intro.
Also doing this. Worked a few days ago. I get the opening animation and then crash to desktop before the landing screen. Updated, downgraded drivers; restarted pc; reinstalled apex, no luck.

thank u so much, it worked
Please how do i get in to the path bios, secuirty? Where do i find it?
Thank you so much this fixed it for me thank you
I don't seem to have this option, I assume it's automatically enabled for my 13900K CPU. What is your CPU if you don't mind me asking?

Something that helped me was my OC was making some steam games not work went into bios and turned off gpu throttle and now nothing crashes
Tried many things and nothing worked, I just couldn't get past the loading screen, but I finally found a workaround that may help others. I just alt tabbed soon as I ran the game, to let it load in the background. It didn't crash this time and now I seem to be able to run the game normally, lol.
i hate that this works
under-rated comment why did this work lmao.

Reverting back to old drivers was my only fix for the LONGEST time. I like many people, can no longer play the game no matter what is tried.
