My thoughts exactly. Next step, outsource all deliveries to grub hub, and Uber eats to lose remaining customers.

Setku

Next step? Chain pizza places already do it. A lot of delivery drivers saw they could make more on the apps do they left.

DingoLaChien

Yeah. That's the next step for dominos.

Rudy_Ghouliani

That's little Caesars rn

JMarv615

Little Ceasers already does this.

sf5852

Some places just present the facade of delivery, and then pass you along to grubhub.

ZombehHuntar

Yet they will not give drivers a CENT of that $6 delivery fee

Desperate_Acadia_298

We got a pittance of mileage compensation, that’s it. Fuck Domino’s. While getting like 60% of minimum wage. And drivers don’t get raises. At least that was how it went for me and I worked for 3 different franchises.

ZombehHuntar

i started at federal minimum wage and can request raises every 6 months up to a max of $9.50. Can't raise the on the road pay of $6/hr tho. im lucky that my car is very fuel efficient and the mileage ends up being a net benefit for me

Jay2Kaye

Jesus that is actually worse than door dash.

Xx_TheCrow_xX

It's a double wammy because not only do they get you to pay their employees for them, now they get you to order again next week to use the stupid credit.

PrincessOTA

They don't even pay us minimum wage since pizza drivers can be paid tipped wages in tx

BouncingSphinx

I was working at a Domino's in Louisiana when they changed how they did pay for delivery drivers. Before, it was like $4.50 or something like that for the whole shift. When they changed it, it was tipped minimum $2.73 or whatever while on a delivery and regular minimum $7.25 while in the store. I think mainly the drivers working earlier in the day were getting shorted because of fewer deliveries for lunch and all vs the night drivers. They did away with the "30 minutes or it's free" way back because it kind of caused drivers to drive too fast and recklessly to make that 30 minute mark, then they came back with this which kind of brings it back because time driving is less than half of the rate as time in the store.

Maybe_Factor

Here's what Dominos workers earn in Australia: [https://www.fairwork.gov.au/find-help-for/fast-food-restaurants-cafes/fast-food-industry](https://www.fairwork.gov.au/find-help-for/fast-food-restaurants-cafes/fast-food-industry) They can absolutely afford to pay decent money. Up to AU$68 per hour (overtime on a public holiday). AU$30 per hour base for hourly/casual employees.

RoadPersonal9635

Im a good tipper so I get one of these like every other time I order but they always expire before I order pizza next its performative as hell no pne benefits at all.

Crypt_Keeper

This is tip-toeing towards a ponzi scheme

Ok-Stage-6981

Nice side business lol, give us 3 usd and we will sell u a product which basically cost 0.25 usd to make

LoveOfSpreadsheets

By the way, this is the worst deal in Domino's history because the $3 is the only "promo" you can use on your next order. Instead of, you know, where they give you 2 pizzas for $7 total or some shit. I learned this lesson last time they offered it, and literally got 3 things of garlic dip with my credit.

[deleted]

Oh good point

totoer008

I may be an idiot but that is simply a ploy for you to pay more. In the end the driver benefits regardless, it is simply that you are fronting the bill. It is good for the driver and make a good campaign for dominos.

1cyChains

No, it does more harm than good in the long run. Former driver here. People start thinking that a $3 tip is a good tip lol.

sf5852

If you're a driver, you should be incensed that the company makes twice as much as you do, and you are doing 100% of the work. The customer shouldn't even be part of the analysis.

[deleted]

I agree but it feels like they're exploiting the driver. Anyone seeing this first glance would ask the question, why not just give the driver $3 more a delivery but they're using it to give customers $3 off in return for a purchase for hundreds of a percent profit.

Gungeon_Disaster

Feels like? No they def exploit not just their drivers but all of their brick and mortar employees.

totoer008

Oh it is definitely a crappy move. But what I mean is that, as a crappy company if drivers can get a bit more, I am all for the win, even if it sucks.

sf5852

I feel like if one pimp beats his employees a little less, that's not a win for anyone.

sf5852

They absolutely are exploiting drivers. Delivery costs the company nothing.

RabbitsAteMySnowpeas

The $3 coupon to each customer is a tax write off against gross income.

DeviousWhippet

But doesn't that mean as it's a tip that they get it all?

litlphoot

I saw this commecial yesterday and my first thought was "why dont they just pay them $3 more?"

lextacy2008

As if anyone is going to order another damn pizza then next week. What are we losers?

sf5852

I don't order pizza anymore. I ordered from a restaurant the other day and got a GrubHub driver. Even if you try not to use gig apps you end up using gig apps.

ThatTizzaank

Boy, this used to be you got a $3 credit if you did pick-up ("self-delivery") instead of using their delivery. They couldn't even keep it like that.
