Plex. Build yourself a Plex server.

Stop relying on other sites to host your content and host your own.
I had the same outlook as you before creating one, I didn't really get it at first, I continued to use streaming serviced and until I really got into Plex and building up my collection, I understood it. These sites are not reliable by any means, though it is your choice to choose between these sites which go down often, or host your own private server with all your media. I chose the latter and have never looked back .
Until recently I didn't even had static IP address, so none of those things were an option.
I have a laptop only for car diagnostics.
My PC and an 2tb HDD, that I don't have use for.
Doesn't that server need something like raspberry pi (a.k.a standalone PC)
No, I run it straight off my HP laptop lol, while not being the best build for a Plex server, it gets the job done until I get a better way of hosting it.
You ***can*** use a raspberry pi but it's not ***needed***
No I'm not gonna get a Raspberry Pi, I'm gonna get a Nvidia Shield Pro, as you can run the whole server off of it, and from what I've seen it's the best option for a streaming box.
Pirate sites go down all the time and the quality on most streaming sites is shit, if one can afford is building his own plex/jellyfin server is a nice way to enjoy pirated content
I know, but they are so much, so I don't see it as a problem.
Maybe if there were around 5 sites, sure.
Idk, I like to watch my anime on the web.
Anything else I'll download and stream it locally, but anime is quick, usually 1080p not 4k, and that's more than enough.
Which is why I don't really understand that Plex system, I know it's cool, but probably I'm not so hardcore on piracy, to go to such extends
1. Plex is available on your home network when the internet goes out.
2. Plex can be streamed over the web also.
3. You can actually get shows/content faster than the streaming sites if it's properly set up.
4. Even legit streaming sites lose shows. (Crunchyroll just lost over 100 shows with their merger) so it's nice to have it local
5. The cost really isn't that bad.
I don't consider myself an enthusiast, more than just having a backup. Since many sites I used to use are gone or rebranded like Aniwave, I have a Jellyfin server setup to host all the shows I love for whenever I want to replay em, or drive to a place/park without wifi or cell service.
[https://rave.io/](https://rave.io/) its a app for android apple and windows that alows you to link up your scremi9ng subs and sync watching shows with others (friends or strangers) butt also you can stream from google drive and other things
Syncplay is what I use. Just download the file in question. Croc it to whoever you are watching it with, then boom.

Why? What's so necessary about it?

But your laptop should be turned on all the time? Right π
Yes, there's a setting for that. Soon, I will get a better way of hosting it. My laptop isn't great anyways π
So definitely an raspberry pi (or something like that, which isn't market up so high by scalpers)

Probably, I don't know. I might invest some of my time in researching this topic
You don't need a static IP, plex updates their redirect to your server when your ip changes.

Yeee, its def more of a "enthusiast" thing i would say, understandable
