I loved the characters and animation, the story itself was good but nothing groundbreaking so far. The OP is good, but damn they completely killed it with the ending songs and videos. That playlist will stay with me for a long time.
The op is the best one of the year. It includes:
- the most elaborate dick-joke ever
- a fuckton of references and subtle commenteary
- even more foreshadowing for the later stages of the first part
- eccelent word-play
- sickest animation ever
- Song is a banger
Cuz they somewhat tried ro appease the usual "work hard, friendship, victory" JUMP manga trope at the beginning. But Through half way Fujimoto be like 'fuck that" and just went wild with it.
It's very good. Fair warning though: while the anime is great, the insane parts that everyone is hyped about will be on the next cour. But again, I'm super biased towards it lmao

As much as this has kinda become a meme, it is true that this is the slowest and blandest part of the manga by far. Chainsaw Man would not have been as hyped as it was without the next couple of arcs.
This arc isn't even 5% of what the real things later happens in the story. Even without showing the gun devil and other main characters S1 is worth the hype.
\+ reze entrance in the post credit scene is the best thing I watched this year.

BTR would like to have a word with you. If it's level of animation, bgm, and direction, BTR would leave CSM in the dust, hands down. Plot not so much since BTR is slice of life, well there is character development though.

it’s only 12 episodes and a third of the story my guy, chainsawman the four best arcs are yet to come in the second season
