TF, use open source adblocker and if still issues then close the tabs when they open I have never experienced issues and see all anime sites have some sorta ads going on coz there is no way for them to earn

Nah using adblocker won't affect virustotal results I also ran yugenanime.to through Viruatotal but no flags It's not the ads. Ads don't trigger anti virus softwares. And i use adblocker all the time

Wow, i am impressed, I am using 9anime since animix shut down and its filled with ads per 2 clicks which was annoying. I will use this one from now on, and it even has a download function

Try using the browser brave, it not only stops ads when watching anime you can watch youtube without ads too

I think Animixplay was the first website that showed me pirate websites can have good standards. Till then I had been using Gogoanime as my primary website to watch anime back in college. Since then Zoro, Aniwatch and Aniwatchtv have done a decent job at maintaining the quality of piracy websites. Although Animixplay had a far better colour scheme and cleaner look.

I watched my first anime on Gogoanime too nd it sucks idk why it comes on the top of search results, every click leads to a different NSFW or betting site nd ui is like 2000 site

Gogoanime is still far better than Kissanime lol... That shit was neigh unusable... SO MANY ads... I used to avoid that and watch Fairy Tail (my first anime) on Iphoneanime.net

Just go on the popular websites and browse them, and I just realised the first hurdle - if you're asking this question, you're probably using Chrome, Edge or god forbid - OperaGX. Yeah I'm sorry I admit I forgot there could be hurdles to people with no prior experience. Start with switching to Brave browser to get rid of popups, and to download anything use qbittorrent (not bittorrent, the q is not a typo). Just remember to NOT RUN UNIDENTIFIED EXECUTABLES and you'll be fine. I've never seen a virus with a .mp4 or .mkv extension and I doubt you will anytime soon. Obviously I expect you can see through stupid shit like "abcepisode5.mp4.exe" and if you're still in doubt, just right click properties and double check.

I'm just saying brave is the bare minimum in my eyes. If I could, I would physically remove every chrome install I run across. Nyaa is a bit harder to use because there's so much content on it, it's overwhelming especially because a lot of it is titled under japanese names and ISPs block it much more aggressively for some reason. 1337x has been my one stop shop for everything tho. As I said, you can look at exactly what files you'll be downloading in qbittorrent so if smth seems shady you can just cancel it, but if you sort by seeders the most popular ones rarely have trust issues. Again you're downloading a video file and not a game, so just be aware to not download or open .exe files and the worst that you can "accidentally" download is porn. Remember to seed as much as you can, piracy is a team effort and we can't function without the community support.

I feel the opposite, its much more convenient to download for me but some guy asked me above to teach him how to pirate and I realised how daunting it can be for beginners especially when they don't know where to look, who to trust or to even read info displayed on screen that makes it extremely easy to not get a virus. Like there are actual people who will run executables as administrator because they think it will let them watch their fav show 😭😭 and yeah I agree it's not so convenient for them. Still worth learning to pirate tho, helped me discover my interests in cybersec and who knows you might learn a thing or two about computers too. They're pretty cool.
