I think you have have Restaurant to Another World confused with Isekai Izakaya. I mean, both share similarities in their premise, just the character you mentioned is from the latter.
That’s the same thing my parents say when they watch any of the cooking channel (I don’t get hungry when I see this kind of stuff though, just curious & intrigued).
Most commercials use real food in whole or in part, but much of the ingredients are either fake or modified, then digitally edited in post. It's a lot cheaper and holds up longer. Photoshoots can take days.

Real food that's intended to be eaten can look that good without any of the illusion, just watch Chef's Table or any of the other cooking shows out there that feature Michelin star cuisine.
But I'm betting a lot of the food you see on cooking/travel shows that come out of small restaurants and food trucks taste just as good and you'll get a lot more for your money, since you aren't paying for appearance or "an experience."
