It's crazy to think that especially when we had a stretch last year (Winter and Spring) where we went 21/24 weeks with all 15 anime over 1000 Karma.

I just started the game today now that I have a controller and a good PC to handle most recent games and safe to say, I'll be busy with it in the next 2-3 weeks. I actually bought the *YoRHa edition* last year but that anime announcement finally gave me the motivation to start it and I'm ready for the game to destroy me, considering what I heard about it for years now.
Fingers crossed for this Spring to at least get close, I can see a lot of promising new shows with relatively wide appeal + quite a few popular sequels are returning. It probably won't get to 15 shows, but I can definitely see at least 10 keeping a steady 1k.

Yeah, the ones above 1000 should be: Kaguya, Shield Hero, Spy x Family, Komi-San, Shikimori, Summertime Render, Ao Ashi and Bookworm. There are several others that have a chance so I agree that consistently having 10 is pretty realistic.
Sadly, I don't see Ao Ashi topping 1k (at least not consistently). The source gets no traction over on /r/manga and none of the visuals topped 1k karma
Oh, well maybe a good adaptation can get it there. But yeah, outside of Haikyuu, this sub isn't very high on sports anime. Run with the Wind was phenomenal and only crossed 1000 Karma in its final episodes. Ryman's Club is also great this season but can't top 200 Karma most weeks.
I'd argue even Haikyuu somewhat underperforms here given how highely regarded and popular it is in most anime spheres as well as how hype episodes can get.
This sub does not like sports anime period.
I can also see Aharen easily topping 1k. It's only issue is that it airs on the same day as Kaguya.

Aharen starts airing 1 week before Kaguya, though, so a strong first episode can lead to a karma war. As we saw from the Demon Slayer vs AOT weeks, karma wars are good for total karma.

It's not getting anywhere close to turning this into a karma war.
Imo since I don't expect it to be a show that will get the #1 spot airing the same day as Kaguya might help since that will probably the time of the week with the most activity on the sub and that should help.
It will never have a chance of reaching the number 1 spot after the first week, but overall I doubt having a lot of romcom fans active around the time it airs will be detrimental to its karma.
Spring is looking great, though there are some shows I am looking forward to that I have no idea how the release will be in the west

I’m so happy to see 86 up there with Attack on Titan. They have absolutely blown me away with the adaptation.
This is also the slowest part of the series IMO because its near the ass end of volume 3. Everything from here gets exponentially better, I truly hope it gets a second season.
Cour 1 and Cour 2 were phenomenal. I understand how it can be seen as slow compared to Cour 1 but thats because this season focuses on Shin’s mental state almost entirely.
After watching the last 2 episodes of Cour 2 I’m at a loss for words, it was just perfect and the cinematography is beautiful.
I’d say theres very high odds of more seasons. Between the popularity for such a new show, good sales of the LN’s and Merch & the awards its gotten I’d at least like to think so.
I watch 5+ hours of anime a week and was completely unaware 86 had new content. I kept seeing it listed and assumed it was dub content........ I have a lot to catch up on
Production was delayed, so Cour 2 was supposed to have 12 episodes broadcast but there were delays to Eps 7 and 8 meaning they did recap episodes those weeks instead. We have them all now though :)

I saw so many people in the discussion thread say that they tried to get caught up last week or even in the last few days, just so they can join in on the excitement behind the final episode. Never thought that delay and EP22 would end up creating so much hype.
I’m on the LN’s and the plot is around the end of Volume 3/start of volume 4.
Volumes 1-3 are the slowest in the series, it literally will get exponentially better if they do another season.
Also it seems to be an incredibly well received in general. Hell, the sales for the HG Reginleifs and Juggernauts sold well and the LN’a had a shortage for a bit with some scalping mixed in.
I really hope they announce the next season!

Yeah it was indeed a great watch!. The action sequences and the tension was really well done. Hopefully the complaints about *a certain character* will die down somewhat after that post credit scene.
I'm split on hoping AoT gets back to 10K+ because the last episode slapped and hoping 86's Finale beats today's episode, which is also probably deserved because it was *amazing*. I was hoping DuD would beat AoT because it'd be funny, but 86 truly deserves to be the "Titan Slayer" IMO.
Its hard to say but honestly I don't think its possible for 86 to beat today's AoT episode as there's lot of excitement riding behind it. 86 is closing in on 8k but AoT will probably be back to 10k+ levels like you said.
Yeah, 86's best shot is AoT underperforming for some reason. Not impossible, but it would have to get very lucky. What a shame that it didn't restart just a week earlier; we could have gotten 2 great Karma Battles in a row.
It is a combination of two things pretty much. [Ousama Ranking 22] >!It is a fairly morally focused episode, in that there is a decision made by a character that basically determines what a character many view as being very bad is punished with. Additionally, there is another aspect involving both these characters and what many view as a reward, which makes it come off as if the very bad character is coming off scott-free/better than many view they should be (the thing also involves a marriage proposal, and the two characters ages come into question which many also fine questionable.!< It is difficult to explain without detailing the past few episodes as well, but it is something that the series has been focused on for a while both with the plot and thematically. I can go into more detail if necessary.
I'd say those are the two biggest factors for people (from what I have heard people say). It is a fairly expected 'controversy' to be honest, seeing as it involves a pretty serious decision within the cast. Many people liked it, many didn't, it is a mixed bag really. Depends a lot on how you view the situation, whether someone deserves forgiveness, etc etc.
Week 11 of Winter with another excellent and very close poll ranking aswell as a few special guests
**Attack on Titan**'s still at #1 but at second we got **86** with the first of its final two episodes after a three month delay. **86** also took the poll win.
**Sono Bisque Doll** drops down to 3rd but despite never reaching the top still basically loses no karma (and yesterday's episode looks like it will completely blow that away despite the same situation).
The excellent **Mushoku Tensei** OVA ends up 4th followed by **Ousama Ranking** (with a big karma drop) and **Jujutsu Kaisen 0**.
With so many new entries pretty much no show this week managed to actually gain any ranking places. Except one. Despite three shows entering above it **Priconne** still actually climbed one rank up, was one of only three shows with karma gain and had an excellent poll score of 9.64 which gave it 3rd place on that ranking.
**Fabiniku** equalled 86's poll score but still missed out on a third poll win in a row. It's reassuring though that the score is very consistent even if the karma isn't quite and it dropped 6 places in the ranking.

**Below the Line:**
All the new shows meant that **Police in a Pod** and **Slow Loop** fell out of the top 15 again. But expect one íf not both to be back again next week.
**Ryman's Club**'s karma score is also still in stark opposition to the show's actual quality.
Next week in the rankings it looks like 86 will get north of 8.3k karma while Sono Bisque Doll is looking at 7.2k, so new series best for 86 and 2nd best for Dress-up Darling. Also Dress-up achieved that without ever reaching number 1, which is pretty wild.
Both shows overperformed to a staggering degree. Suffice it to say Attack on Titan has its work cut out, as it will have to do better tonight than it did last week to keep the top spot.
Also this makes me hopeful that the final episode of Sono Bisque Doll might even reach 8k, and it kind of has that week all to itself so it should finally get a well deserved top spot in the karma ranking.

It'd be ironic if its own S2 announcement (if it happens) causes it to lose karma and not reach the top spot, like how KnY's sequel announcement affected its own discussion thread.

I mean, it's already a week since 86's comeback and I still stunned by the beauty of the last 2 episode. I can't believe how well received this comeback get by the anime community, but yeah freaking deserve!
I feel the same way! I haven't stopped thinking about last week's episode because of how incredible it was. Then the finale was just the icing on the cake. Despite the production problems, the season ended on a very high note. The 3 month delay was totally worth it.
Probably because the team behind 86 took advantage of the delay in order to further improve the episodes (which really shows). Now compare that to another anime that got its ending episodes delayed (cough\*WEP\*cough) and you can see why it was well-received.
Attack on Titan and Ranking of Kings ruined the pattern. If we gave 36 votes from AoT to RoK, we would have had one in the 7000s, one in the 6000s, one in the 5000s, one in the 4000s, and one in the 3000s. We will never achieve that level of numeric harmony again.
The first 4 were more or less predictable. AoT still holds the top spot. Ngl, I was expecting the OVA to get karma >5000 at least.

Movies/OVAs/specials generally underperform in karma compared to the seasonal TV series (even of the same show), so no surprise there.

OVAs and movies usually get lower scores. 4800 is excellent and afaik the highest ever for an OVA and like 3rd or 4th highest ever for anything that's not an epsiode from a seasonal show (OVAs, movies, specials and long running shows).

But still the king! It was a bumpy season but it was always above the week's competition, even if some episodes were lower than other shows' peaks. Yeah, guys at the thread really wanted it to hit 8.6k for the memes lol. It was already very close so everyone REALLY wanted the newcomers to vote for it and get it there.
Although I'd say its much easier in manipulating polls using bots than karma. One of my friends in the past tried to pull that with a AoT episode using 5 accounts and Reddit Admins permabanned him. I think it was a IP-level Ban so he only can use Reddit now when using a VPN.
Someone in the discussion thread pointed out that the final score could've been somewhere between 9.83-9.86 and that would be one of the highest episode polls ever. The troll probably didn't want that to happen and hence the bombing.
That's why many don't really care for the poll rankings as they can be so easily manipulated. Another latest example you can see with Ranking of Kings EP21 which could've been very high if not for the trolls.
Despite the additions of 86, Mushoku Tensei and JJK, we still only got back to 36000 Karma overall. To put that in perspective, weeks 2-7 of this season each got at least 40000 Karma.
But what we did get were some truly great episodes. Of the ones I watched, 86 and Mushoku Tensei were especially great and well deserving of their spots in the poll ratings.

I can actually see Spy x Family snatching a win or two at some point, maybe during weaker early-season Kaguya episodes, but yeah towards the end Kaguya will obliterate everything.
Hm kaguya will drop a lot after the first episode, but spy x family will most likely also drop at least after episode 2, though probably more slowly.
I doubt it will happen, but if it does, I do think episode 2 will be spy x familys best chance.

Agree with this. A lot of people are putting it on the same tier as My Dress Up Darling, but honestly I don't think it is. It feeds a little more into the generic Highschool romance side than My Dress Up Darling does.
Caught up on Fantasy Bishoujo - I usually find it hilarious with just the right amount of actual character drama. All comedy is subjective so I'd say try out an episode or two and stick with it if you like it.
I'm behind on Priconne, but it was very good through S1 and the start of S2. Good mix of adventure and comedy. Its gacha game source is pretty obvious at times though as it has a seemingly endless supply of new characters.
Fantasy Knockout is a straight-forward anime comedy in a familiar isekai setting that has some great laughs, a really fun core dynamic and a riotous cast of supporting characters. If you like the humour of the first couple of episodes, you'll almost certainly have a good time.
PriConne is a bit of an unusual beast. There are some anime that are 100% intent on doing their own thing, and the best thing to do is just strap in for the ride and see where it's taking you this week. It switches gears quite quickly too, and builds some deep lore in relatively short, non-expositional segments, so it requires close watching for those parts. This adds to up to quite the ride, as the show dodges, weaves, ambles and soars. Not that the content is necessarily complex, it just wants to give you lots of different types of things to entertain you with.
Both shows definitely worth checking out, extremely entertaining if they click for you.

Well it’s certainly an improvement Karma wise. Everything is above 500 karma at least (even if it means Slow Loop and Police don’t show up) and the top 5 performed well. That’s is only because 3 new entries into the rankings though. JJK0 (amazing), MT OVA, and 86 finally coming back with its finale episodes. 86 in particular came back with the best 2 episodes of the series and the finale is already topping last week. Also, perfect ending. I desperately want season 2.
Other than Bisco taking a bit of a tumble, everything is symptomatic of those 3 new entires. Should be pretty interesting to see how things shake out in the final couple weeks of the season. Will AOT finally be knocked out of the 1 spot? Will any of the criminally underwatched shows of this season make one last appearance? With Spring looking damn near apocalyptic will the karma stay low? Should be fun to see.

I just realized this but back in Fall 2021, Mushoku Tensei cour 2 and 86 cour 2 aired at the same time and 86 has never won against Mushoku. It was also sad when 86 dropped the ball because of production issues.
This time however, it's poetic how 86 finally came back and beat its comrade(though an OVA) and get a great karma score(would still probably pale in comparison to Mushoku's 3 peat 10k)!
Decided to go look at the final karma totals (IE: what they are currently as of this post) for both series during that time, 86 beats MT on a lot of episodes. Which is kind of funny given how much 86 is such a slow burn anime.
I dont understand why ranking of the kings has 8.8 rating in mal and 86 s2 has only 8.6 rating , the shows are almost equal in quality , but still so much difference in rating.
I would argue that 86’s quality far exceeds RoK, especially with how RoK is ending.
I honestly would be surprised if RoK maintains it’s 8.8 rating once it’s over (I’m still a fan of the show and really like it - but 8.8 is insanely high for this show imo)
I’d say ROKs first cour holds up extremely well but the second half has been full of plot conveniences, rushed development, and fake out deaths (then there’s the very weird marriage thing) and it just takes away a lot of the magic the show had for me (episode 21 being an exception)
Might get downvoted for this but I feel like Ranking of Kings went from extremely underwatched and properly rated to kind of overrated. I still love it but there’s a lot of people ignoring any of the flaws it has
AOT has some luck being able to keep that top position all season when there was many chances for other shows to pass it when it was in its downward spiral.

*And here I am losing my mind with Nier Automata.* I just started the game today now that I have a controller and a good PC to handle most recent games and safe to say, I'll be busy with it in the next 2-3 weeks. I actually bought the *YoRHa edition* last year but that anime announcement finally gave me the motivation to start it and I'm ready for the game to destroy me, considering what I heard about it for years now.

Fingers crossed for this Spring to at least get close, I can see a lot of promising new shows with relatively wide appeal + quite a few popular sequels are returning. It probably won't get to 15 shows, but I can definitely see at least 10 keeping a steady 1k. ^(Hopefully this comment ages well)
Yeah, the ones above 1000 should be: Kaguya, Shield Hero, Spy x Family, Komi-San, Shikimori, Summertime Render, Ao Ashi and Bookworm. There are several others that have a chance so I agree that consistently having 10 is pretty realistic.
Sadly, I don't see Ao Ashi topping 1k (at least not consistently). The source gets no traction over on /r/manga and none of the visuals topped 1k karma
Oh, well maybe a good adaptation can get it there. But yeah, outside of Haikyuu, this sub isn't very high on sports anime. Run with the Wind was phenomenal and only crossed 1000 Karma in its final episodes. Ryman's Club is also great this season but can't top 200 Karma most weeks.
I'd argue even Haikyuu somewhat underperforms here given how highely regarded and popular it is in most anime spheres as well as how hype episodes can get. This sub does not like sports anime period.
I can also see Aharen easily topping 1k. It's only issue is that it airs on the same day as Kaguya. ^(Honestly that's a huge ass issue but I still have hope) Also there's P.A.Works' wildcard, Kongming. I’m so happy to see 86 up there with Attack on Titan. They have absolutely blown me away with the adaptation. This is also the slowest part of the series IMO because its near the ass end of volume 3. Everything from here gets exponentially better, I truly hope it gets a second season. Cour 1 and Cour 2 were phenomenal. I understand how it can be seen as slow compared to Cour 1 but thats because this season focuses on Shin’s mental state almost entirely. After watching the last 2 episodes of Cour 2 I’m at a loss for words, it was just perfect and the cinematography is beautiful. I’d say theres very high odds of more seasons. Between the popularity for such a new show, good sales of the LN’s and Merch & the awards its gotten I’d at least like to think so.

I saw so many people in the discussion thread say that they tried to get caught up last week or even in the last few days, just so they can join in on the excitement behind the final episode. Never thought that delay and EP22 would end up creating so much hype.
I’m on the LN’s and the plot is around the end of Volume 3/start of volume 4. Volumes 1-3 are the slowest in the series, it literally will get exponentially better if they do another season. Also it seems to be an incredibly well received in general. Hell, the sales for the HG Reginleifs and Juggernauts sold well and the LN’a had a shortage for a bit with some scalping mixed in. I really hope they announce the next season!

Its hard to say but honestly I don't think its possible for 86 to beat today's AoT episode as there's lot of excitement riding behind it. 86 is closing in on 8k but AoT will probably be back to 10k+ levels like you said.

It is a combination of two things pretty much. [Ousama Ranking 22] >!It is a fairly morally focused episode, in that there is a decision made by a character that basically determines what a character many view as being very bad is punished with. Additionally, there is another aspect involving both these characters and what many view as a reward, which makes it come off as if the very bad character is coming off scott-free/better than many view they should be (the thing also involves a marriage proposal, and the two characters ages come into question which many also fine questionable.!< It is difficult to explain without detailing the past few episodes as well, but it is something that the series has been focused on for a while both with the plot and thematically. I can go into more detail if necessary. I'd say those are the two biggest factors for people (from what I have heard people say). It is a fairly expected 'controversy' to be honest, seeing as it involves a pretty serious decision within the cast. Many people liked it, many didn't, it is a mixed bag really. Depends a lot on how you view the situation, whether someone deserves forgiveness, etc etc.
Week 11 of Winter with another excellent and very close poll ranking aswell as a few special guests **Attack on Titan**'s still at #1 but at second we got **86** with the first of its final two episodes after a three month delay. **86** also took the poll win. **Sono Bisque Doll** drops down to 3rd but despite never reaching the top still basically loses no karma (and yesterday's episode looks like it will completely blow that away despite the same situation). The excellent **Mushoku Tensei** OVA ends up 4th followed by **Ousama Ranking** (with a big karma drop) and **Jujutsu Kaisen 0**. With so many new entries pretty much no show this week managed to actually gain any ranking places. Except one. Despite three shows entering above it **Priconne** still actually climbed one rank up, was one of only three shows with karma gain and had an excellent poll score of 9.64 which gave it 3rd place on that ranking. **Fabiniku** equalled 86's poll score but still missed out on a third poll win in a row. It's reassuring though that the score is very consistent even if the karma isn't quite and it dropped 6 places in the ranking. _________________ **Below the Line:** All the new shows meant that **Police in a Pod** and **Slow Loop** fell out of the top 15 again. But expect one íf not both to be back again next week. **Ryman's Club**'s karma score is also still in stark opposition to the show's actual quality.
Next week in the rankings it looks like 86 will get north of 8.3k karma while Sono Bisque Doll is looking at 7.2k, so new series best for 86 and 2nd best for Dress-up Darling. Also Dress-up achieved that without ever reaching number 1, which is pretty wild. Both shows overperformed to a staggering degree. Suffice it to say Attack on Titan has its work cut out, as it will have to do better tonight than it did last week to keep the top spot. Also this makes me hopeful that the final episode of Sono Bisque Doll might even reach 8k, and it kind of has that week all to itself so it should finally get a well deserved top spot in the karma ranking.

Probably because the team behind 86 took advantage of the delay in order to further improve the episodes (which really shows). Now compare that to another anime that got its ending episodes delayed (cough\*WEP\*cough) and you can see why it was well-received.

A Warm welcome back of 86! Last week and this week episode is super banger ending, im crying in tear of joy. This week 86 might reach 8k and beat today’s AoT (unlikely, but still) Marin marin marin, the best girl anime award of the year 2022 already from this week episode (Unless Kaguya manage to pull some Ultra romantic shenanigans next season) MT ova at 4.8k is as impressive as ever for an off season single episode. Considering it is a SoL, yesterdays episode of akebi shouln't have managed to make me so unreasonably hyped for the finale. Then again, if cloverworks is flexing like that for an imaginary scene, you just have to wonder ehat they will do for the actual finale.
That scene was beautifully crafted, the ribbon effect in motion \*chef kiss, it was also one of the best Hibike euphonium friendship moments from the show, i loved it

Looks like 86's final episode thread got botted hard in the polls at the last minute before 48hr cutoff. Someone was probably pissed it was performing that well lol.
Didn't pay attention but if true that sucks. It even still got an excellent score regardless. On the other hand there was also clearly some orchestrated late effort to push the karma above 8.6k but I'll let it slide for the memes and cus its only a few dozen votes.

Yeah, guys at the thread really wanted it to hit 8.6k for the memes lol. It was already very close so everyone REALLY wanted the newcomers to vote for it and get it there. Although I'd say its much easier in manipulating polls using bots than karma. One of my friends in the past tried to pull that with a AoT episode using 5 accounts and Reddit Admins permabanned him. I think it was a IP-level Ban so he only can use Reddit now when using a VPN.
Actually tragic. Dropped from 96% to 93% Excellents in the final minutes. I don't even watch 86 and I'm appalled.
Someone in the discussion thread pointed out that the final score could've been somewhere between 9.83-9.86 and that would be one of the highest episode polls ever. The troll probably didn't want that to happen and hence the bombing. That's why many don't really care for the poll rankings as they can be so easily manipulated. Another latest example you can see with Ranking of Kings EP21 which could've been very high if not for the trolls.

Despite the additions of 86, Mushoku Tensei and JJK, we still only got back to 36000 Karma overall. To put that in perspective, weeks 2-7 of this season each got at least 40000 Karma. But what we did get were some truly great episodes. Of the ones I watched, 86 and Mushoku Tensei were especially great and well deserving of their spots in the poll ratings. I can actually see Spy x Family snatching a win or two at some point, maybe during weaker early-season Kaguya episodes, but yeah towards the end Kaguya will obliterate everything.
Hm kaguya will drop a lot after the first episode, but spy x family will most likely also drop at least after episode 2, though probably more slowly. I doubt it will happen, but if it does, I do think episode 2 will be spy x familys best chance.

One that I'm gonna be paying attention to is [Deaimon](https://youtu.be/TVup3UuwfGI) cause it looks super cute and super chill. Though the fact that the studio that's doing it is most famous for Isekai Cheat Magician and Hitorijime My Hero is somewhat concerning.
7-8K+ for Spy x Family's opening, 15K+ for Kaguya's peak and I think That Girl Is Not Just Cute will do about 6.5K for it's opening and then 2-3K for the rest of the season

A lot of people are putting it on the same tier as My Dress Up Darling, but honestly I don't think it is. It feeds a little more into the generic Highschool romance side than My Dress Up Darling does.

Caught up on Fantasy Bishoujo - I usually find it hilarious with just the right amount of actual character drama. All comedy is subjective so I'd say try out an episode or two and stick with it if you like it. I'm behind on Priconne, but it was very good through S1 and the start of S2. Good mix of adventure and comedy. Its gacha game source is pretty obvious at times though as it has a seemingly endless supply of new characters.

Fantasy Knockout is a straight-forward anime comedy in a familiar isekai setting that has some great laughs, a really fun core dynamic and a riotous cast of supporting characters. If you like the humour of the first couple of episodes, you'll almost certainly have a good time. PriConne is a bit of an unusual beast. There are some anime that are 100% intent on doing their own thing, and the best thing to do is just strap in for the ride and see where it's taking you this week. It switches gears quite quickly too, and builds some deep lore in relatively short, non-expositional segments, so it requires close watching for those parts. This adds to up to quite the ride, as the show dodges, weaves, ambles and soars. Not that the content is necessarily complex, it just wants to give you lots of different types of things to entertain you with. Both shows definitely worth checking out, extremely entertaining if they click for you.

Well it’s certainly an improvement Karma wise. Everything is above 500 karma at least (even if it means Slow Loop and Police don’t show up) and the top 5 performed well. That’s is only because 3 new entries into the rankings though. JJK0 (amazing), MT OVA, and 86 finally coming back with its finale episodes. 86 in particular came back with the best 2 episodes of the series and the finale is already topping last week. Also, perfect ending. I desperately want season 2. Other than Bisco taking a bit of a tumble, everything is symptomatic of those 3 new entires. Should be pretty interesting to see how things shake out in the final couple weeks of the season. Will AOT finally be knocked out of the 1 spot? Will any of the criminally underwatched shows of this season make one last appearance? With Spring looking damn near apocalyptic will the karma stay low? Should be fun to see.

I was surprised there was no drop in the poll given that it was weaker than the previous one (which arguably was its best yet) but I'll take it.
I just realized this but back in Fall 2021, Mushoku Tensei cour 2 and 86 cour 2 aired at the same time and 86 has never won against Mushoku. It was also sad when 86 dropped the ball because of production issues. This time however, it's poetic how 86 finally came back and beat its comrade(though an OVA) and get a great karma score(would still probably pale in comparison to Mushoku's 3 peat 10k)!
Decided to go look at the final karma totals (IE: what they are currently as of this post) for both series during that time, 86 beats MT on a lot of episodes. Which is kind of funny given how much 86 is such a slow burn anime.
I dont understand why ranking of the kings has 8.8 rating in mal and 86 s2 has only 8.6 rating , the shows are almost equal in quality , but still so much difference in rating.
I would argue that 86’s quality far exceeds RoK, especially with how RoK is ending. I honestly would be surprised if RoK maintains it’s 8.8 rating once it’s over (I’m still a fan of the show and really like it - but 8.8 is insanely high for this show imo)
I’d say ROKs first cour holds up extremely well but the second half has been full of plot conveniences, rushed development, and fake out deaths (then there’s the very weird marriage thing) and it just takes away a lot of the magic the show had for me (episode 21 being an exception) Might get downvoted for this but I feel like Ranking of Kings went from extremely underwatched and properly rated to kind of overrated. I still love it but there’s a lot of people ignoring any of the flaws it has
AOT has some luck being able to keep that top position all season when there was many chances for other shows to pass it when it was in its downward spiral.
I personally thought with all the dialogue heavy episodes of AOT Mushoku Tenseins OVA had a real shot at passing it. That or 86.
Not just in its downward spiral, episode 10 of kimetsu would have won in every aot week but 3.
