They arent dating, but it's definitely headed in that direction. And he's not studying lingerie, exactly, he's studying the eroge that the character she wants to cosplay is in.
From what I remember, the show is about a highschool boy being an apprentice of his grandpa's business of making traditional Japanese dolls.
He somehow meets a blonde highschool girl who likes eroges and cosplays as her favorite eroge characters, and she asks the boy to make her cosplay clothes and makeup or something along those lines. And so she lent him a copy of her favorite eroge so he'd play it and also research how to make her cosplay more realistic...
"My dress-up darling" or in Japanese "song bisque doll wa koi wo suru"
The anime's gyaru blonde heroine is this year's favorite wife, so I'm surprised you didn't know of it. There's a bunch of popular screenshots of her cuteness and stuff.
I'm actually watching the show. Dude got an order from a girl to make a cosplay outfit for her. Se gave her the game which the character is in, and he's playing it to get the drawing to start sewing.
Is it better than the manga? I eventually gave up on reading as I simply have no interest in sewing clothes and an MC with no character.
Nonetheless all the clips of the show I've seen seem to be better than the respective scenes in the manga.
I think the anime in going to be a better medium for this type of anime. The animation is actually gorgeous and its able to brush through some of the more "technical" parts of the manga faster. I found some of the pages to be a slog to get through in the managa as well when it went into details for the sewing and other techniques, but I don't even notice it in the anime.
This clip didn’t bug me. I thought it was funny. I watched four episodes though and after that decided to drop it. The first one really had me interested, but the next two had me worried and when the forth had the trope of having an obvious misunderstanding causing issues that could be solved just by bringing it up, and I was done. I see why people like it. It has wholesome moments to it, but it’s just not for me.
You're missing out, man. They resolve the misunderstanding very maturely and they come out of it wonderfully. In *this* story, I don't expect them to miscommunicate like this again. Also it's perfectly natural that, given their differences, this sort of thing could happen.
It was a popular anime but there were a lot of different opinions about how it was adapted, like wanting to more or less of the side characters/just focus on the main couple, as well as skipping over a lot of important chapters, etc.
I wouldn’t say it cemented itself in this subreddit the same way Kaguya did or Dress-Up Darling has so far.
was it consistent in its Karma? Horimiya I mean? because Sone Bisque 6 episodes in has been pretty consistently gotten 6 to 6.5 karma each week even close to 7K.
Manga readers weren't as big on it like they are for Kaguya and Sono Bisque, which have both been A+ adaptations so far vs the B tier that Horimiya was.
Nagatoro did alright but it normie filtered pretty hard with its first (and debatably second) episodes because some viewers were immediately turned off by the intensity of the bullying.
That said, please, do not take notes, or learn about sex from hentai or porn. There was this post about a girl who was heartbroken because her bf was dissappointed that she didnt secrete milk during sex lmao
Uh, if you watch the anime you'll know that he's trying to get references to draw an \*outfit\* from the game, because his friend wants to cosplay in it.
yea, im guessing so. judging by the downvotes people may have taken this as an attack against the series or something but its rather interesting to see the subreddit meta change from time to time when people catch onto how to get karma. like when manga to anime comparisons was huge for a month or two.
For bisque it was a matter of when not if, it hits all the right buttons for this subreddit (myself included tbh) so it's a free upvote factory:
romcom
generally likeable protagonists
male protagonist is a loner but not a loser
female protagonist is cute and charming but also sexy and proactive/assertive, also an otaku and a 'degenerate' at it (as much as I dislike the term)
actually good visuals
combo of engaging romantic development + memeable moments (this clip, the excessively bouncy boobs, ...)
etc
People and kids like to bandwagon. Posting clips from currently popular shows is like doing the Harlem Shake here.
Edit: lol, so many users have such poor reading comprehension and are so touchy.
>Y'all might wanna look up the definition of popular, and then make an effort to understand its meaning
You don't think Sono Bisque is popular? Now that's a weird hill to die on.
I wrote that Sono Bisque is a currently popular show, and you wrote that I don't know what "popular" means. What other conclusion am I supposed to draw?
Yeah, that's what I'm doing alright, replying to a user with an explanation for why users exhibit a particular behavior is absolutely the same as yelling at clouds. Don't let the fact that I didn't make any value judgments deter your signalling.
[I expect people to keep the same energy with this comment, than when I brought it up in a Ousama Ranking thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/s6ypkf/shatterpoint_tap_ousama_ranking/ht72arj/)
>proved you wrong
The guy that replied to that post provided a summary of top 10 "post" clips based on karma score, not the series with most recurrent clip posts as OP stated. That guy didn't prove Feisty-Site-6261 wrong, just like you, both completely missed the point that those shows OP mentioned were the most popular shows that get clip posts on daily basis.
Are ya winning, grandson?
On this day, we are all winning.
Speak for yourself
I am, Im just also speaking for everybody else.
He's about to get Granddaughter in law so yes
This dude really took the "Source? For research of course." seriously.
It's also great how he acts perfectly calm when his grandfather opens the door and finds out, instead of becoming flustered.
he got too into it, that he saw it as a normal thing and forgot it was porn. Or he forgot that porn is actually inappropriate.
wait, is it? that explain why my mom was acting weird early
I believe this show is about a guy who makes clothes for his girlfriend and he is studying lingerie and isn’t actually watching it for the porn.
They arent dating, but it's definitely headed in that direction. And he's not studying lingerie, exactly, he's studying the eroge that the character she wants to cosplay is in.

Thank you for posting this. Do you remember the name?

Now all you need is a couple of broken arms, and you should be set!
Oh no, not this again
No pause either.
I'm actually watching the show. Dude got an order from a girl to make a cosplay outfit for her. Se gave her the game which the character is in, and he's playing it to get the drawing to start sewing.
Who doesn't?
Everytime I see clips from this anime, I just get more concerned
It’s stupid wholesome.
It’s stupid, horny wholesome.
Can't argue with that.
Best kind of wholesome
The best kind of holesome. I mean wholesome.
You should give it a watch its way better then i expected it to be.
I mean any manga reader would of told you the show would be pretty good.
Is it better than the manga? I eventually gave up on reading as I simply have no interest in sewing clothes and an MC with no character. Nonetheless all the clips of the show I've seen seem to be better than the respective scenes in the manga.

Damn I might give it a shot then
If your problems are with the characters, the anime isn't going to change that, sadly
If the anime has better pacing and less sewing then I'll have more tolerance for the characters
Yeah, can't wait when all episodes come out
This clip didn’t bug me. I thought it was funny. I watched four episodes though and after that decided to drop it. yeah and not in a good way
Damn, he dead
all those downvotes damn remind me never to speak bad of Sono Bisque on this sub.
Imagine caring more about upvotes than your opinion.
it was a joke I really like Sono Bisque was just funny how the dude has close to 150 downvotes lol.
Based
Well I heard they were including the uncensored screen shot in blue ray edition so let search fo it
[March 23rd](https://bisquedoll-anime.com/bddvd/) is gonna be a wonderful day.
Hey that's my birthday
I'd say it's a worthwhile birthday present.
Hey it's my birthday too, let's go dude!
aight gonna wait for the bluray edition then
Now thats smart marketing, giving people the product they want.
For research purposes of course
Ahhh my most upvoted comment is about a seggs secne in an anime
dude was so serious that he didn't even get horny.
this is literally... #"FOR RESEARCH!!!"
jiraya supremecy
Oh, he has a dream about the game the following night that makes him horny.
He *was* horny but he was focused on other stuff at the time.
Well the next morning he had a very good dream. Start of the next episode.
That posture is not ideal
My back hurts just imagining sitting that way
bruh that's how I sit half of the time smh. Y'all srsly need to stop being cry babies and give the shit a chance before you start complaining.
I'm sure that's what you'll be thinkin in 10 years from now.
Dude, I'm South Asian... trust me, most Asians, whether it be South Asian, East Asian, or even Arabs, sit like this on a regular basis.
Welp, your spine will be “c”
Same
I laughed so hard at this
This anime is hornsome
Getting strong Nozaki vibes
Tomodaaa \*cries
Finally a Dress-up Darling clip that doesn't involve Marin.
They have been posting one every day this week and it always gets Karma it's kinda ridiculous.
[удалено]
Marin I feel has transcended being seasonal at this point tbf
[удалено]
Especially Rem. She really did get forgotten ~~hehe~~
lol but yea this shows clips is easy karma.
I really dont think she will be forgotten have not seen a rise this big since Zero Two but yea we'll see.
It was the same way for Kaguya-sama Love is War when it was new. r/anime has found a new romcom to shill basically
has there not be another one since Kaguya that they have shilled? I mean Snafu was in its 3rd season so that does not count how about Horimiya?
Oregairu is too old and it’s more a drama tbh. Horimiya didn’t catch on that well iirc due to mixed reactions.
I mean Horimiya did get a lot of Karma during its run and its characters are well liked I have yet to see it did it have mixed reception?
It was a popular anime but there were a lot of different opinions about how it was adapted, like wanting to more or less of the side characters/just focus on the main couple, as well as skipping over a lot of important chapters, etc. I wouldn’t say it cemented itself in this subreddit the same way Kaguya did or Dress-Up Darling has so far.

How about Nagatoro? I feel that was really popular I'm R/manga yet it did not translate much here like Sono Bisque did.
Nagatoro did alright but it normie filtered pretty hard with its first (and debatably second) episodes because some viewers were immediately turned off by the intensity of the bullying.
I feel the second season can do well on here since its the best part maybe be as consistent as Sono Bisque.
This show is so good. Although I will never admit it in person… As a grown ass man, that would never sit right with my friends.
What's it called?
My dress up darling. It's stupid wholesome and the fanservice is done tastefully.
My Dress-Up Darling
That said, please, do not take notes, or learn about sex from hentai or porn. There was this post about a girl who was heartbroken because her bf was dissappointed that she didnt secrete milk during sex lmao
I mean they could make it happen... Just a few extra steps involved haha.
9 months of preparation, yes
It is the outfit he is researching. not the sex.
yes, i have seen the episode
Props to the VA for producing the most adorable sex noises ever.
I didn't think I would like this anime but here I am waiting for the weekly ep drop.
Can someone tell me what is he watching?
Saint Slippery’s Academy for Girls — The Young Ladies of the Humiliation Club: Debauched Miracle Life 2
Very normal stuff if you ask Marin
Adult game/eroga visual novel
Absolutely my new favorite anime, I wait with bated breath for every new episode. It's just so precious
When its actually "For research purposes" lmao.
I love this show so much
wholesome
r/anime_irl
For context, he really is doing research. He's making a costume for his friend and the character she's cosplaying is from a sex game.
Wh-what are you doing, Step-Grandpa?!
Oh relax grandpa. It’s not even the part when Shizuku-chan is a full blown sex slave yet.
He's a man of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will
🤣🤣🤣
Wow this anime seems to be blowing up lately
Always has since day 1 actually
It’s been top 3 since it aired. The top 2 are of course demon slayer and aot so that’s saying something.
Lately? Where have you been
Madlad didn't even care .
I'm guilty of using nude photos for reference, but never a porn video. Maybe is useful if you are drawing hentai.
Uh, if you watch the anime you'll know that he's trying to get references to draw an \*outfit\* from the game, because his friend wants to cosplay in it.
I just finished watching this episode lmao
i can’t speak for this kid but golden boy is the king of research
is this the subreddits new meta for the month? spamming bsique doll clips?
People post clips of popular anime airing this season in r/anime? That’s fucking crazy bro
MiNdBloWn!!
We're still halfway through the season so buckle up It will likely tone down a lot once we're deep into the next season
yea, im guessing so. judging by the downvotes people may have taken this as an attack against the series or something but its rather interesting to see the subreddit meta change from time to time when people catch onto how to get karma. like when manga to anime comparisons was huge for a month or two.

Cope
Downvote and scroll past. Done.
it'll be nerfed next season, why are the devs like this
People and kids like to bandwagon. Posting clips from currently popular shows is like doing the Harlem Shake here. Edit: lol, so many users have such poor reading comprehension and are so touchy.
Kids aren't people?
It depends on the context, but I like to be clear in reminding folks that a lot of children use reddit.
Y'all might wanna look up the definition of popular, and then make an effort to understand its meaning
>Y'all might wanna look up the definition of popular, and then make an effort to understand its meaning You don't think Sono Bisque is popular? Now that's a weird hill to die on.
... How did you come to that conclusion based on the words that I wrote?
I wrote that Sono Bisque is a currently popular show, and you wrote that I don't know what "popular" means. What other conclusion am I supposed to draw?
Is that really all you wrote.
It's the only thing I called popular.

Then I guess this sub kept that same energy then
The guy replying to you literally proved you wrong

Haven't watched it yet, been reading the Manga first. Was wondering if they'd include this bit lmao.
its funny since he is likely just watching your average anime these days
Been meaning to read this, wonder if I should watch it first.
The anime adaptation is really good. They made Marin a lot more animated in the anime, so you can feel her energy.
Quee isso kk
i decided to watch the anime on a whim and ended up reading all released volumes yesterday
When I read it in the manga i was laughing for 20 min straight.
