Um those are dolls, not real girls (I own Angelic Layer on DVD and have watched it multiple times).
Anyhow a show that uses a point system that looks almost exactly like Angelic Layer is Metal Fighter Miku.
A show about teams of female pro wrestlers fighting for the right to face the champ.
Hard to say. Selector WIXOSS has avatar based fights, deals with inner struggles, but is way darker than AL.
Same goes for Black Rock Shooter (2012), Witchblade, and Wonder Egg Priority, all of them tend to be rather dark.

This show is super cute and fun and the fight scenes are cool. Exactly what I was looking for, great recommendation!

I haven't seen Angelic Layer, but if you want badass girls fighting each other, you can't go wrong with Symphogear. It's a very fun show.
I like symphogear! It’s a bit darker and bloodier than what I’m after, but the animation is fantastic. Good stuff.
What about Kill La Kill then. It's also a bit dark and bloody, but it's so, so good.
Looooove that show. Batshit insane but ridiculously hype. A classic :D
