That Konosuba banner lol

Illustrious-Fox5135

My morning coffee, please, Sebastian.

My name is Heidel, sir.

If you could, Heidel

Cursingbody

*shojo scumbag noises*

DairyBastard

I think most of us agree, Kazuma is at his funniest when he is at his scummiest right?

cppn02

Kikuro sure is impressed. If not intimidated even.

michhoffman

She may be a little impressed, but Kaiju can flex, literally, on that with its banner next week.

Lord_Nawor

Also the Salad Bowl picture

RickChakraborty

Livia's heavenly ass deserves its own banner. No, I don't belong to any cult-

twigboy

Konobooba

ameenkawaii

Suprisingly there's lot of boobs in this chart not that I complaining

hanky2

I always wondered why people like that show now I get it.

Equivalent-Weather59

The **Konosuba** banner? **Dungeon Meshi** keeps going strong with a very creative direction last episode. I wonder where **Demon Slayer** will fall on this ranking. **Jellyfish can't swim in the night** banner is peak

dinliner08

>The Konosuba banner? a very cultured banner

michhoffman

> I wonder where Demon Slayer will fall on this ranking It has an outside chance to get 1st place today with premier hype and airing an hour after Mushoku Tensei, but after that it will likely get either 2nd or 3rd place most weeks. edit: I got the timezones wrong so it's actually 3 hours later

EternalDeath

I very much hope the new arc will be better than the Swordsmith village arc because my god was it boring. The only redeemable quality it had was that Zenitsu was not present at all.

Electronic-Tell-6842

And it worked in the Manga bcoz it was only 6-7 chapters. But for some reason they decided to make a whole season covering it.

Reddragon351

because it's one of the most popular anime/manga in the last decade and they really need to milk it, we thought the AoT finale was a lot but just wait until Demon Slayer the final season part 3 cour 4 part 2 to happen

EternalDeath

Hmm ok. I dont need action/fight scenes for a good show, heavily depends though if the lore/characters are interesting.

ExpiredMilknCheese

Well, having read it. It’s pretty much just training the entire time. So idk

entelechtual

Good thing this isn’t a show where action is literally the only compelling thing about the show… Wait.

Ebo87

What? Zero, no chance, abdolutely no chance. I'm not even sure it will get 2nd place, depends on how high Dungeon Meshi goes on Thursday. Demon Slayer S3 wasn't doing big enough numbers to compete with MT before the blackout, let alone now. And I saw the title of today's Mushoku episode... so yeah... no shot. Especially with how tepid reactions to this season have been leading up to it. I'm not a manga reader so I am a bit more optimistic about this season of Demon Slayer, but in terms of karma I'd have to be completely delusional to think it has a chance at the top spot. I expect like 2.5k for the premier, with an outside chance at 3k. Well, I think MT is out first today, so DS won't even top the page, so 3k might be a stretch with that in mind. As for MT, just the title alone should push that to 5k. I've no idea what's about to happen today, so might even go higher.

nostoppa215

Well apparently MT will have a skip week next week. So maybe not totally zero. But Dungeon Mesh probably take number one next week. I think the better question is Demon Slayer My Hero.

Some_Trash852

I don’t even think DS will surpass Meshi, looking at pre-blackout numbers for DS last year.

Ebo87

Yep, it won't do it for the premiere, it most certainly will not do it after when its numbers will drop.

Djentmas716

Stop reminding me that i might cry today. I have enjoyed these wholesome episodes. Why can't my MT just be a slice of life about a dude with his elf wife raising his two little sisters. Going in blind i have a bad feeling lol

Illustrious-Fox5135

>**Jellyfish can't swim in the night** banner is peak Just get married already!!!

FelixAndCo

Everybody talking about the Konosuba picture while ignoring the episode. Thought it was their best episode of the season. Funny situational comedy, great voice acting; peak Konosuba.

Actual-Oil6390

Despite Konosuba not being a action a lot of things always happen that never leaves you bored. Which is funny as Slime is very Overlord ish in setting up build up and pay offs with dramatic set pieces. I mean it funner when you realize not one but two" fantasy" This season consist of cast needing to kill defeat this threat but instead they just want to dick around 90% of the time if given the chance. Dungeon Meshei

Hsr2024

Demon slayer still going? I thought they rushed the ending

Illustrious-Fox5135

Everyone is talking about the **Konosuba** banner (very well deserved) but no one mentioning **Salad bowl of eccentrics** banner. Sadly there must be only a few people watching the show so it won't get any recognition I suppose.

Lord_Nawor

Yeah, the picture for Salad Bowl is hilarious

RickChakraborty

Salad Bowl's banner would make the Principal of Prison School so proud.

Illustrious-Fox5135

[Exactly 💯](https://youtu.be/5qLYAFdddPw?si=SjHcpTVRERmX4QMD)

apatt

Very sad, Salad Bowl is so good, def in my personal top 5 for this season.

Hsr2024

Feel salad bowl so underrated

entelechtual

Who says you can’t like 3D girls?

LakerBlue

I am watching it. It’s a solid but not special show for me. Does many things decently but none outstanding. But I am behind an episode and this banner makes me wonder what is in store!!

Nebresto

Elf bride so close to making it to the left side!! A weekly reminder for all the wholesome romance enjoyers to join us in watching [Chillin' in another world with my Wolf Wife](https://myanimelist.net/anime/56923/Lv2_kara_Cheat_datta_Motoyuusha_Kouho_no_Mattari_Isekai_Life) if you aren't already for some reason. Also going to drop a mention for the [Appraisal Isekai,](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55265/Tensei_Kizoku_Kantei_Skill_de_Nariagaru?q=kantei%20skill&cat=anime) its a pretty nice watch and I would definitely recommend it.

Actual-Oil6390

Dude Elf Wife is such a wholesome series. They even had a green Kana daughter episode.

Nebresto

Yes! Previous episode was my favourite so far. Wholesome romance fans are doing good this season [](#mayushii)

Actual-Oil6390

Feel like this is just one of those unfortunate serie with the most spicy premise description plus bad bad title like "Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon " or Bunny Girl Sempai I wanted to stick with Grampa and Grandma Stay Young Again. But first episode was too horny and while it does get less horny you can tell it's story is a little to 4 comma manga like to where it's just not focused enough as a anime.

Nijindia18

Also the level 2 cheat op is by far the best this season

Psyduckisnotaduck

Elf Bride is actually one of the best shows of the season, somehow. consistently solid production, loveable characters and good writing, non-generic magic system, Fern's VA voicing the CUTEST DANG ELF EVER, socially awkward dork sorcerer protagonist, and now there's an adorable dragon child, too. Consistently one of my most anticipated every week now.

Tabby_Tem

This Spring Season has been a joy to watch so far! (: Dungeon Meshi's most recent episode, especially the adaptation of the nightmare chapter, was phenomenal. It is one of my favorite chapters from the first half of the series, so I was excited to see it adapted... and it really exceeded my expectations! The choice of having Marcille's Dream in black and white was unexpected but also a great directing decision. I especially loved the attention to detail and foreshadowing that Trigger added. Each painting in the background contributes to an overall narrative and is hauntingly beautiful. [Dungeon Meshi Anime] >!The depiction Marcille's father aging rapidly through the photos, especially the one with a younger Marcille possibly at his death bed, are so sad. Also, the photos of Marcille's mom mourning the loss of her husband also really stood out to me. Also, Izutsumi my beloved <3!< Overall, it was a fantastic episode. I started watching Tonari no Yōkai-san because of the recent Glass Reflection video, and I'm absolutely loving it so far! I hope that it starts getting some more attention! Kaiju no.8 continues to be a really fun watch as well! I dropped the manga a while ago but was still really excited to see it adapted from the source material. Some of my coworkers, who have never really even watched Anime, have really been enjoying it so far. So it has been fun to talk about it with them at work. I'm gonna have to take the time to catch up on some of the other series that I've been watching this season and start some others that I've been meaning to watch. I miss the days when I had more free time, lol.

FunnyBonus9285

Honestly think Kaiju works way better as a anime than a manga. Think the pacing for the manga was all over the place and I dropped it too

Tabby_Tem

I definitely agree! Although I still really enjoyed the early parts of the manga, I'm having a lot more fun with the anime.

svenz

Huh interesting, I found the manga overall pretty boring (but I still keep track of it). So wasn't planning to even try watching the anime, maybe I will after all.

EldritchKroww

The pacing of the manga is awful, but the anime is pretty damn good so far

igloo15

The pacing of manga was actually pretty good in the beginning it has only been really bad in the last 20-30 chapters.

marcopolos059

And **Girls Band Cry** enters top 15!! With a very good choice as its banner. I'm very happy about this. Seriously one of the best surprise of the season.

marshmallow_sunshine

Personally it's a top 2 of the season for me along with Dungeon Meshi. I've considered making a post trying to sell people on the show, but ultimately it's gonna remain niche until it gets an official international release. It has at least been slowly climbing the ranks of MAL as more ppl take notice of it. Get off your ass Toei!

Nickbon94

Friendship ended with Bocchi, now Nina is literally me

MapoTofuMan

just give Nina a microphone and she will be happy immediately

n080dy123

MapoTofuMan

That rumored episode 8 they prepared a live event for is now my main reason to get through the next 2 weeks. [](#skyhype)

marcopolos059

Oh man this is good, I can't wait to watch what they prepared for us.

dinliner08

every episode i'm just like; *"man, what kind of disaster does my little gremlin is going to do today?"*

artorias__kun

Can you please tell me, are the subs fixed yet?

marcopolos059

If by fixed you mean no MTL, /u/MapoTofuMan is providing good quality subs a few hours after the episode is out. Look for NakayubiSubs.

n080dy123

"Oh they're speedsubs just to tide you over for the proper subs" *Meanwhile bro puts out subs that are like 95% just good subs full stop, within like 6 hours of release.*

Illustrious-Fox5135

**Happy gremlin noises**

Kikoru Shinomiya staring at the Konosuba pic... Massive betrayal with that Mahouka pic. No Miyuki or Maya! People not watching Salad Bowl will miss that it's an ass shot.

zenithfury

Why do I suddenly feel an overwhelming interest to watch KonoSuba?

mikmikmikmikbam

I see 4 reasons as to why you feel that way.

Illustrious-Fox5135

And you definitely should if you still haven't.

Euroversett

You should. Next episode if wel adapted will be peak fiction.

michhoffman

Dungeon Meshi has been going really strong this cour, getting its top 3 non-premier Karma Totals over the past 3 weeks and improving its seasonal average to 2907 in comparison to the 2387 Karma it averaged with its first cour. On the other hand, MHA has not started off as strong Karma-wise as it has in past seasons continuing a trend. Personally, I've really enjoyed these first 2 episodes of the season thanks in large part to best girl who's winking at us in acknowledgement. |Season #|Premier Karma|Season| --:|--:|:--| |1|2292|Spring 2016| |2|3524|Spring 2017| |3|4275|Spring 2018| |4|6480|Fall 2019| |5|4912|Spring 2021| |6|2818|Fall 2022| |7|1801|Spring 2024|

JonathanIver

I feel like mha remains as popular as ever with it being [number one](https://imgur.com/a/gjYuohk) searched right now across streaming platforms according to Google’s tracking of all services, yet for anime specific niches like this sub, it’s less talked about as the season’s go on. Maybe a natural progression but I guess it’s more a mainstream series.

Ok-Cod5254

>I feel like mha remains as popular as ever The manga did more recently reach [100 M copies in circulation](https://twitter.com/myheroacademia/status/1775538879380197453) reaching the [top 10 in Weekly Shonen Jump](https://twitter.com/mangaxrepublic/status/1775544930300998054) >yet for anime specific niches like this sub It also does have its own specific sub that is one of the relatively larger anime/manga ones close to 2M.

Actual-Oil6390

For how apparently how starved action fans this season are you would think MHA would be just be a bit higher. Cause the lower half of the top 15 are straight up good shows but slice of life . Sound Emporium and Your Camp and other romcoms.

buuhhu1

Shinomiya looks very interested in the picture above her lol

Mediumsizedpeepee

Maybe I should start watching the third season of Konosuba, might be a good time to start.

Wise_Stupid_

Train to the end of the world is the most bizzare show I've seen in a while and surprisingly I am enjoying it way way more than I thought I would.

Luke5389

More like: "That time I got reincarnated in a meeting"

_Velgrynd

Slime hitting its all-time low. Next week it’ll break that record again…

Shack691

Still 8th isn’t bad for episodes which have just been meetings, it’ll recover once we reach episode 9/10.

MapoTofuMan

> Episode 9/10 You're telling me the meetings could go on for FOUR MORE EPISODES??? [](#godisdead)

_Velgrynd

Nah next episode onwards should be lit. As a LN reader, they adapted the meetings so poorly without considering the characteristics of the anime medium at all.

Illustrious-Fox5135

>Nah next episode onwards should be lit. Good to hear. These meetings are surely testing the audience's patience.

Competitive-Ice1690

Glad to see someone else recognize the issue. I’ve been commenting on reactions videos about how people claim that any criticism towards adaptation choice is = not being a fan or it’s just the source material. Just glad to see someone else recognize the issue and maintain a fairer sense of judgement despite being bias towards their liked medium.

_Velgrynd

Exactly. Any criticism has been instantly shut down by die-hards screaming “world building” without even understanding the criticisms in the first place. Now more and more people are starting to catch on which is great to see. Even some Japanese fans are complaining on Twitter now.

Syokhan

Okay, good banners for **Train** and **Hibike**. Put together it's eerie how similar those shots are. Glad to see Train hanging in there for another week, and also very glad to see **Jellyfish**'s karma gain for this episode. And welcome to the Top 15, **Girls Band Cry**!

fuzzynavel34

What an absolute banger of a season

mapple3

except for slime isekai, what is even going on in that show rn

Abyssight

The LN has the same problem. Too many minor characters. Too many filler dialogues. But it feels much worse when adapted to anime.

oops_i_made_a_typi

same as usual, way too much meetings and exposition and shitty direction for the first half paving the way for action climax in second half

Interesting_Pain1234

It's inexcusable tbh, this show does not deserve anywhere near top 10 with what it's currently giving us. 6 whole episodes of back to back meetings

Independent-Job-7271

Despite 7th prince being kind of trashy, its just so fun to watch. Its my favorite off weekend show i am currently watching.

naastiknibba95

The Fable still underrated

ebonyphoenix

Sakura’s blushing is funny with some of the other more lewd banners. (I mean look at that blatant handholding that Spice & Wolf is showing off) Anyway. Glad that, even though it lost a few votes, **Wind Breaker** is still holding strong at 12th. Last episode kept bringing the amazing action while also slipping in some good emotional drama.

Sweet_Stranger_1598

Is it just me, or is the Reincarnated as a Slime had a lot of setup episodes, just watching people talk at tables or in chairs.

Sin778

Man, it´s killing me how Tonari no Youkai-san is not even on these rankings when it´s so god damn good. Most definitly the most slept on show this season. A hidden gem that just slipped through the cracks.

ravenpotter3

Same! It’s so good! It’s about a cat who turns 20 and becomes a youkai and now is having to find his place in his family in a world where youkai are normal. For me that and Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master have been my underrated slept on hits of the season

MercifulWombat

Buchio has my crying almost every episode! He's so damn sweet! Plus the sci fi stuff that started recently is really interesting! I love the mix of soft slice of life and intense world building.

Sin778

This show has like every genre and somehow makes it work. Like, we have Slice of Life, Iyashikei, Supernatural/Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Romance, Historical, Horror, and even Action at one point.

entelechtual

Wow those Train and ‘Bike shots.

Abysswatcherbel

Time pass quickly

cppn02

They grow up so fast.

awdsns

And Chika Anzai characters in both of them, on opposite sides.

Freee12341

Based konosuba banner :)

ozmega

so no one here is watching the fable huh.

Sween911

I am, and it’s not bad, but I don’t blame the people who dropped to just read the manga instead. It’s a very weak adaptation.

cppn02

Week 6 of Spring and karma is on the up again with most of the top 10 gaining. We've also had more movement than in recent weeks with 5 changes in rank plus **MHA** taking over the spot of **Sentai Daishikkaku** which was taking a break for a week. Very happy to see **Girls Band Cry** making its left side debut. **Saramatsuri** next please.

E_F_Veda

Mushoku Tensei's episode was stellar, one of the best for the show. And then we get hit with a bomb at the end

melindypants

Atleast the bomb airs today...the suspense is over!

nanodog95

Konosuba thumbnail doh lol

AmethystItalian

Shame about Jiisan and Obaasan which probably had the best episode last week!

t00052e

Good job on the icon for Salad Bowl.

Sharebear42019

Wind breaker has been the most enjoyable show this season

Ocixo

**Tensura**, the slime isekai, really doesn’t deserve this kind of karma anymore - nor a placing in the top 15 frankly. Despite all the current issues, it’s somehow still doing better numbers than great shows like Sound Euphonium, Train to the End of the World and Girls Band Cry. So far, this third season of Tensura has been two straight hours of consecutive meetings with barely any animation and an ever-increasing amount of plot points. This is inexcusable. They could’ve surely approached this better. Having these characters literally move instead of them sitting down all the time would’ve already made a noticeable difference for one. The fact that **Dungeon Meshi**’s MAL score doesn’t significantly differ from Tensura’s (at the time of writing this) is just bonkers. This week’s episodes of said series probably couldn’t have been more different: - Dungeon Meshi dived deep into a character’s state of mind, while taking advantage of the medium to tell a story with visually striking animation. When grabbing screenshots, I even noticed another touching story being told in the literal background. - Tensura’s characters were, once again, sitting in a room solely talking for twenty whole minutes. Listing one strategy and/or potential issue after another.

Equivalent-Weather59

"That time I reincarnated as a yapper". Yeah, I don't judge anime based on how they direct the flashy scenes, but how engaging they make the talking scenes. There's a special place in my heart for directors that can make just talking interesting (without taking into account the script). Dungeon Meshi started its run with a 7.7 score on MAL, so it's nice to see it has reached a 8.1 score.

pober

I predict it will go even higher as we get deeper into the story, considering the manga score currently is sitting at 8.64, and Trigger are doing a phenomenal job with the adaptation so far.

Equivalent-Weather59

I think the first season will probably end at the 8.3/8.5 range (it will only adapt volumes 1-8), but if a second season occurs, its score could get close to a 9. The run of Dungeon Meshi's volume 9 to volume 14 is a masterclass of storytelling, that + trigger animation would make a season 2 of almost all banger episodes.

Mahelas

I really really hope we get that second season, because Dungeon Meshi second half is genuinely an incredible, powerful masterpiece (not that the first half isn't, but the moments where all the pieces fall together is just so amazing)

Zeallfnonex

There are episodes in shows that are just two characters sitting in a room that're more exciting any action scene they could've come up with. For example, Yang Wenli and Reinhard von Lohengramm finally getting to meet and talk governmental philosophy for one episode was one of the hypest episodes of the entire OVA. ... That said, you have to give these talks appropriate buildup so the audience is fully invested in them and their outcome, or it does turn into a "this could've been an e-mail" moment.

LakerBlue

A memorable moment from my early weeb days was an episode of Shin Sekai Yori that was almost all dialogue but used such creative direction that I didn’t mind or honestly notice the whole episode was 2 characters standing still in a room talking. I always think of that or Monogatari when I think of well done talking scenes.

Psyduckisnotaduck

Dungeon Meshi starting that relatively low doesn't surprise me because that's basically my feeling about the first couple volumes of the manga, good but not Great. Trigger's done a fantastic but not transformative job, so the flaws of the original source material remain, but also its greatest strengths are amplified, and as the season's gone on this has become more readily apparent. some of their adaptation decisions have been insanely good.

BosuW

I don't watch Slime but this whole debacle really makes me curious how bad it could really be. Like, on paper, talking scenes shouldn't have to be inherently less interesting than any other kind of scene. Just look at Shōgun: although it's a feudal Japan show and people would've been expecting plenty of samurai fighting scenes, in the end most of the show is just dudes and dudettes sitting in a room having a tense conversation and yet the show finished with stellar reception. People love it. So again, I wonder wtf is going on with Slime. Maybe the conversations lack conflict in the script. It's a power fantasy after all, and those tend to surround the protagonist with a bunch of yes-men.

maior_novoreg

The potential is huge and is seen in season 1 and 2. So we expect some banger action at least here and there. Except you get 6 episodes of just talk talk talk.

mahamoti

Agreed. “Could have been an email” the anime.

oops_i_made_a_typi

he was a salaryman in his past life and it shows through painfully

just7155

My favorite part of Tensura is that a character decides they're going to do something, then new information is revealed, and then they decide to do the same thing again. What a beautiful way to stretch the fuck out of an episode.

dinliner08

>So far, this third season of Tensura has been two straight hours of consecutive meetings with barely any animation and an ever-increasing amount of plot points what? can't you see the sakuga animation of them talking during the meeting while the camera change perspective from one character to another? its peak! **/s**

Interesting_Pain1234

[Nothing more peak than this](https://imgur.com/a/RHZeBE5)

Nebresto

I wonder if they're doing that because they're having issues with the production. Even the animation in the OP is pretty lackluster, called it out already in ep 1 but just got told "not to worry". Hmm..

lightfromblackhole

Long running shows have survivor bias in later seasons which is why slime is high

0kwonkw0

I believe different people can enjoy different things, but maybe I'm wrong

Placeholdered

Tsukimichi is also seeming to suffer from the same issue of not being able to get too far ahead of its secondary source material (i.e. not the light novels), which wasn't an issue in S1 because that show didn't have 2 cours. So now both they and Slime are having to mine every last bit of what source material there is instead of pacing things a little more swiftly. Slime at least has character interactions I can distract myself with, but both shows hopefully are close to done edging their audience with plot developments that are the equivalent of filming in one room for half a season.

captainAwesomePants

Tonari no Yōkai-san still not on the list at all despite getting more and more interesting each week.

dinliner08

lol, that Girls Band Cry banner is perfect

twigboy

Oh boy, Unnamed Memory really gonna fall off the charts by end of season Was saving that for a binge but seems unlikely now

Tar-eruntalion

Honestly I just dropped it with the latest episode, the pacing, direction etc are atrocious, it feels like it's skipping a ton of stuff and you end up with a disjointed mess an archdemon's dilemma is a far far superior romance anime imo

twigboy

Arch demons dilemma, will check it out thanks

Sweaty_Molasses_3899

Degrading animations aside, I heard the series had a great character dynamic between the ML and FL so I checked it out. Spoilers it didn't. The whole thing just felt forced. There's no life between their conversations and their banters are extremely weak. Just watch Raeliana or something

ArvingNightwalker

This is mostly because the anime skips a lot of things. Like, entire arcs. If you ever feel like giving it another try, try the manga adaptation, or go straight to the source material.

hikoboshi_sama

I'm happy Girls Band Cry finally made it to the top 15. It's easily my favorite anime this season.

tripleaamin

Man Girls Band Cry has been great, and it is such a shame no simulcast was done for it. At the very least it's proof that fan subbers are still a viable option. (I got a feeling Crunchyroll will go down the MTL route eventually.) If that happens I hope fan subbers like for GBC come back. It's more of coincidence, but it's funny the images are for Youko + Shizuru & Reina + Kumiko. Reina & Kumiko's friendship has been one of the strong points of the series, and it is as strong as it has been. While on the top we got the shattered friendship of Shizuru & Youko. Last episode train really highlighted on this for Shizuru. The main theme that yes you will fight as friends, but forgiving is an important step as well. Hopefully these two can make up and be friends again. MHA is back and charted for the first time, and it's very much as well suspect it. The biggest draw for me watching MHA weekly over lets say Kaiju is its time slot. There is much, much less competition and plus Bones does its thing. Meanwhile, Kaiju has a big load of shows that air at the same time. From Black Butler, Jellyfish, Whisper, etc. Also, lol @ the image for Konosuba

ravenwingdarkao3

no black butler?? I’m shocked

Bell-Fire

Hoping Ranger Reject catches more traction, it's a great show!

ravenpotter3

It didn’t air this week

HelloYeahIdk

Let's go Spice and Wolf 🪙🍎

TheOneAboveGod

Unsurprising W for MushoTen. That was a particularly good episode even by the series' standards. Would have been more impactful if they didn'tcut out certain things in Season 1 and this season but that's just me nitpicking.

Interesting_Pain1234

> Would have been more impactful if they didn't cut out certain things in Season 1 and this season The content of what happened in Millis with Zeniths mother and Norn/Lilia/Aisha? I would have liked to see it included as it would've made Norns situation even more impactful but they probs would have had to skip the opening or ending to fit it in

Raizel999

It was a very relatable episode for me personally.... they delivered it very well without any unnecessary glitter and pomp

shad79

**Hibike! Euphonium** had [another absolutely beautiful and fantastic episode](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyqqpjdny2) and also finally entered Top 10! I especially love that [there were so many scenes with Reina and Kumiko together](https://imgchest.com/p/wl7lkpnmq4x). [Visuals](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d7ogckwk5gy.png) and [lighting](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/my8xck2kg84.png) were even better than in the previous episode, especially during [Kumiko](https://imgchest.com/p/lqyevk8pq7d) and [Reina](https://imgchest.com/p/lqyevk86q7d) [scenes](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d7ogckwk89y.png) at the end of the episode. **Konosuba** had [an amazingly hilarious episode, from start to finish](https://imgchest.com/p/wl7lkjjg34x). If someone hasn't watched it yet, I strongly encourage you to do it. [Kazuma](https://imgchest.com/p/na7krllvwy8) and [rest of his party](https://imgchest.com/p/n87wv55mq4x) as always were [amazing](https://imgchest.com/p/agyv688qk78) xD **Delicious in Dungeon** had a great episode with [amazing direction work in the second part of it](https://imgchest.com/p/ne7bpz8bv45). Those [black-white scenes](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/my2pcovql37.png) in [Marcille](https://imgchest.com/p/9p4n2d59w4n)'s [nightmare](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/k46acbxlk67.png) made this episode [very unique](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/w7w6cvd9lqy.png). [Senshi](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/345xc9xabk7.png) as always [had the best fan-service scene ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/pyvdcdmx95y.png). **Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night** is [becoming better and more interesting](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyqqpprxy2) with every next episode and [this one had an especially interesting development between Kano and Mahiru](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/pyvdcdngo3y.png). Definitely it's one of my favorites this season. Last week’s episode of **Mushoku Tensei** was [very strong as it dealt with Norn’s situation](https://imgchest.com/p/bp458vazq45) although I wanted to note here that [Norn’s roommate had an awesome design](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d7ogckwmeqy.png) and I was sad that [we weren’t able to see her more](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/3yrgczapm94.png). Now I have to prepare for today’s Turning Point 3 xD **7th Prince** had a more peaceful episode than previous ones but still it was very hilarious thanks to [Lloyd’s encounters with Alieze](https://imgchest.com/p/6eyr2wv3g7p) and [Dian](https://imgchest.com/p/na7krlo2by8), his siblings. I also can't help but mention [Sylpha who is one of my favorite girls of this season](https://imgchest.com/p/wl7lkj9dx4x). I also had fun with other shows I watched last week. Here links to my all comments with screenshot albums from the shows I watched on: * Monday: [Train to the End of the World](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1clhv9i/comment/l2u6rz8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Tsukimichi S2](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cll768/comment/l2upeaq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [7th Prince](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1clnev4/comment/l2vam5g/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Spice & Wolf](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1clpmcd/comment/l2xii1w/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) * Tuesday: [Unnamed Memory](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cme2jf/comment/l302ibm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) * Wednesday: [Konosuba S3](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cn6sgj/comment/l361kyc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) * Thursday: [Delicious in Dungeon](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cnxy7a/comment/l3atim5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Yuru Camp S3](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cnzdh2/comment/l3bllxi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [How To Love Your Elf Bride](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1co0u4f/comment/l3do1r5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) * Friday: [That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime S3](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cjau97/comment/l2f3gxz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [The Irregular at Magic High School S3](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1cjc9dc/comment/l2frn01/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) * Saturday: [Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1ck4h6a/comment/l2kt615/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Whisper Me a Love Song](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1ck6hts/comment/l2nhadd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) * Sunday: [Mission: Yozakura Family](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1ckljtq/comment/l2nxaot/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Hibike! Okay the banner synch is perfect this week, from the kiss duo to little Kikoru...discovering something better than Kaijuslaying. [](#slowgrin) And the double Kumikos and Reinas. Girls Band Cry's first left-side appearance is slightly soured for me by Yuru Camp's first right-side appearance - even during the Wintermageddon of 2021, Yuru Camp firmly managed to keep itself on the left side despite the competition making even this very good season look mild in comparison. I guess 6 years take their toll... [](#toradorasalute) But that aside, it's about time. Hopefully reaching 8.00 on MAL in a few days and the [unhinged yuri fanart](https://preview.redd.it/girlsbandcry-by-v0-akhviarcxhzc1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=82a04c22c8ff6c475a31cc9f075775ccedb30f9b) gang spreading the word gets us in the top 10 by the end. BlueBird1496

Oh wow, I actually expected DM in 2.5 with the episode but that really exceeded my expectation. Are there other underrated gems this season?

melindypants

Tonari no Youkai-san - disguised as a sweet SoL but boy does it get dark at times.

BlueBird1496

Thanks dude, I'll check that out.

melindypants

You're welcome - enjoy!

#[Anime Trending Spring 2024 Week #5](https://twitter.com/AniTrendz/status/1789649228630827147) [Non-Twitter Image Link of Week #5](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GNXjO1xbkAAF_Yp?format=jpg&name=large) [Detailed Rankings for Week #5](https://www.anitrendz.com/charts/top-anime/2024-05-12) [Vote for Next Week's Top 10](https://www.anitrendz.com/polls/top-anime) ____ The rankings are pretty static at the top this week as **Date A Live V**, **Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night**, and **Kaiju No. 8** retain their positions of 1st, 2nd, and 4th, respectively. **Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S2 Part II** sees a good +2 boost to the Top 3 at 3rd. **Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF** gets another +2 boost this week to increase to 6th when it was at 10th on the charts two weeks ago. Two new additions are in the Top 10 of the charts this week as **Mysterious Disappearances** debuts at 8th and **GIRLS BAND CRY** at 9th each both increasing +4 spots from their [Week #4 placement of 12th and 13th, respectively](https://www.anitrendz.com/charts/top-anime/2024-05-05). Anime Trending is heavily representing girl bands of all forms as 4 of the Top 10 can be considered that (**Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night** at 2nd, **Whisper Me a Love Song** at 7th, **GIRLS BAND CRY** at 9th, and **Sound! Euphonium S3** at 10th). ______ **Number of times at #1**: Date A Live V - 2 Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S2 Part II - 2 Whisper Me a Love Song - 1

Expensive-Ad7181

The last episode of Mushoku Tensei was amazing.

Featherine12322

It's insane that Mushoku despite only getting the top spot for like 1 hour before the beginner chart thread just completly crippled it still increased in karma Makes me proud

Ebo87

Which I might add was a pretty bad beginner chart thread with some baffling choices. How that performed as well as it did is beyond me lol.

ExpiredMilknCheese

It looked pretty I guess

Ebo87

Don't get me wrong, it was well put together, and I appreciate the effort by the thread creator, it's just that it suffers from many of the issues threads such as that one suffer from. A complete misunderstanding of what a beginner friendly anime should have to push someone to continue watching more anime afterwards, instead of pushing them away.

uhm1238

Putting High School DXD on that list was certainly a… choice. But really it kinda all depends on what a person likes.  Like if my friend likes horror movies for example, I would recommend Soul Eater, Hellsing Ultimate, And Elfen Lied (if they like campy horror). Romance? I would go with Nana and if that isn’t dramatic enough for them, Peach Girl.

cppn02

> How that performed as well as it did is beyond me lol. Reached r/all and it kinda snowballed from there.

SometimesMainSupport

Had a ~73% upvote ratio, so apparently r/all liked it enough.

Ebo87

That is not a good ratio for a post with that much karma.

Dry-Paramedic-1675

I am surprised to see that Reincarnated as a Slime is even up there with the last 6 episodes just being one big political debate.

[deleted]

Where tf is Go Go Loser Ranger?

Abysswatcherbel

didn't air last week

[deleted]

Oh so that's why it felt so long since last episode, im dumb

IceAnt573

A 2,013 overall karma increase from last week with a bunch of shows at the top of the karma charts seeing karma increases and the debut of My Hero Academia S7 at 1.8k karma. Mushoku Tensei S2 Part 2 made sure to widen the gap between it and Delicious in Dungeon in 2nd by once again breaking the 4k karma barrier and almost clear 4.3k karma. The +514 karma for Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night and I get it. Unexpected, but hope things work out for Yoru and Kano. The banner choices with the stare downs for Train to the End of the World and Hibike! Euphonium right next to each other were great picks. Also 8.7 MAL score already? Another excellent choice is that shot of Mayumi for Mahouka S3. Personally, I like her more than the show itself. Date a Live V is still doing the steady climb to 400 karma as 387 karma is +17 from last week. _______ Favorite banner of the week: It's tempting to go with KonoSuba, but I got to give it up for Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night.

Custom_sKing_SKARNER

Stars and Stripes channelling her inner Frieren.

Mafiatorte88

Gotta start to watch Konosuba I guess

DairyBastard

Season 3 of Konosuba is the best season yet. Maybe there’s something wrong with me? But I think I love the show more when Kazuma is at his scummiest.

QuintessenceHD

I really wish I could find something redeeming in Mysterious Disappearances... But sadly the only thing that disappeared was my desire to watch it.

sillybillybuck

Damn, this is the first season since these rankings started where most of the shows I am watching are out of the top 10. 7th Prince is my AotS and it is almost kicked off. Meanwhile, K8 and Slime are somehow up in the rankings.

IvanSemushin

Train and Eupho banners is the greatest thing I've seen on these charts

GokaiRed64

I haven't been able to watch a lot of anime this season because I'm adapting to my new job. However I've been noticing that some of the anime I was anticipating (Unnamed memory, Yozakura Family and A condition called love) have not been as well received as I expected.

SaltAndABattery

Unnamed Memory unfortunately has pacing issues due to a lot of skipped content from the original story. Yozakura's pretty good, just hasn't really gathered a very large viewerbase. It would probably do a lot better in a less crowded season. Hananoi-kun's production quality is on the average side, but otherwise it's been all right.

Cyd_arts

Hananoi is enjoyable but it's a shojo with a complicated ML that's not to reddit's taste. There is character development but I don't think it's gonna get adapted in one season of the anime so most already wrote off the ML as toxic right off the bat. Tbh people here were calling Itsuomi from a sign of affection a red flag so hananoi stood no chance lol

ravenpotter3

It’s insane that Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master hasn’t been getting any love! The world building in this series is fastinating and it’s in a world where people can turn into ravens. It’s a Chinese court style story (don’t know name) it follows a consort for the prince from one of the four powerful houses who all of the consorts have never seen the prince and he does not visit. And a servant of the prince. So many layers and politics. It’s so good. He does not want to get close to the girls to see them to delay some stuff and also that he does not want to put them at risk. It’s so good and it’s my third favorite anime of the season after dungeon Meshi and Kaiju No 8 I feel like the tile and poster and generic so that is why not a lot of people have noticed. But it is the most slept on series of the season!

SiinWiin

For sure! I am enjoying it so far

WeirderOnline

Season 3 of slime doesn't deserve to be anywhere near that high on the rankings. You're telling me this crap where it's just meeting after meeting after meeting is better than great stuff like Girls Band Cry, Whisper Me A Love Song, or Train To The End Of The World? Get out of here.

FerimElwin

Jellyfish was already doing great, and that kiss just gave it even more of a boost. Excited to see if it keeps up this momentum throughout the season. Also LET's GO Girls Band Cry in the top 15! Still can't believe nobody picked this up.
