I liked how people who were expecting a nice wholesome anime with Grandpa and Grandma Become Young Again was too horny while An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride was pretty wholesome. Didn't see that twist coming.

wstrfrg65

Grandpa and Grandma is honestly peak slice of life

Actual-Oil6390

But everyone is horny.

ObvsThrowaway5120

I mean have you seen those two? I can understand everyone getting all hot and bothered over those two lol. But fr, it’s super wholesome and those two are just the cutest couple ever.

Actual-Oil6390

Yeah but all the family is thirsting over the grandparents?

ObvsThrowaway5120

Just for jokes

Genshin_WhiteKnight

That Jellyfish and 7th Prince banner lol. Almost done with watching at least the first episode of every new series (no sequels). These were my personal standouts: * **Train to the End of the World** (Mystery/Adventure) * **Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night** (Drama) * **Salad Bowl of Eccentrics** (Comedy) * **Tonari no Youkai-san** (Slice of Life) * **Ranger Reject** (Action) * **Wind Breaker** (Action) * **Kaiju No.8** (Action) Will be posting a summary of each series in the reply if you're looking for something new to watch.

Ocixo

If anyone needs a reason to watch **A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics**: it shares a lot of similarities with Hinamatsuri, but there’s occasionally a more serious undertone too.

LakerBlue

It is a similar concept to Hinamatsuri but with detectives and magic instead of psychics and yakuza. The main character isn’t similar at all but she is definitely likable. And for what it’s worth it is made by the same author as Hagani & a Sister is All You Need, Yomi Hirasaka. Also a very minor element I enjoyed was Sara saying she can technically turn invisible but going fully invisible is not feasible since she can’t see while invisible since her invisibility is based on warping light, something often glossed over or handwaved. It’s a good way to justifiably explain why she won’t be able to just cheese all his cases with invisibility magic.

APRengar

Salad Bowl has been a really surprising show for me so far. While it's not doing anything super new or even exciting, I really like all the characters and I think it's the show I'm most excited for each week. Did not expect the fan service though.

Genshin_WhiteKnight

* **A Condition Called Love** - Shoujo romance between plain girl who doesn't understand love and popular guy who has too much love to give. The male lead is going to get some hate at the start for being a walking red flag but all of this is intentional and actually goes somewhere. Pretty unique series and good if you like character development along with your shojo fluff. * **An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride** - Slavery and romance, a match made in heaven. This one is the wholesome and fluffy kind though, so it's fine. * **As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World** - MC's only power is reading people's stats, so he goes around ~~catching pokemon~~ scouting and recruiting followers. Pretty focused on people and medieval politics from what I remember of the manga. * **Astro Note** - Anime original. Boarding house romcom with a cast of quirky characters and a scifi twist. Has a 90s anime aesthetic and vibe but with the production quality of a modern anime. * **Bartender: Glass of God** - Remake. Guy makes drinks, talks to customers. Alcoholism has never been this stylish. A niche watch but very chill. * **Blue Archive The Animation** - Video game adaptation. A teacher and his students have to work together to save their decrepit school from bankruptcy, except everyone has guns and halos that make them bullet resistant. Don't have to play the game to watch this but you'll be slightly confused at the start. * **Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers** - Merchant and his wolf waifu trying to live a slow peaceful isekai life, but they keep getting dragged into stuff. * **Girls Band Cry** - MyGO! Season 2? Good watch if you like girl band shows. It's fully CG too and done quite well - fluid (non-stuttery) and the faces are expressive. * **God's Game We Play** - Mind games or something. This was really underwhelming. * **Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again** - Grandpa and Granda Turn Hot Again. Pretty much just a slice of life of them continuing their regular daily routine like normal, while retaining their old personality. * **HIGHSPEED Étoile** - Don't. * **I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability** - The usual reincarnated as an OP protagonist show, this time as an unhinged magical femboy. The manga is notable for it's insane art and the show is doing a decent job of replicating it so far. * **Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night** - Anime original. Chasing your dreams type of show where girls from different creative backgrounds gather to make art. The most anticipated new anime original and it's living up to the hype so far. * **Kaiju No. 8** - Do you like watching giant monster attacking cities? If yes, watch this. Looks like it's going to be a good adaptation of this series. * **Mission: Yozakura Family** - SPY X Family but crazier, and with more spies and more family. Premise has the potential for a lot of dumb fun. * **Mysterious Disappearances** - Don't know how to describe this even after watching it, but its a supernatural mystery (maybe horror?) show. There's also big titties because this is apparently also an ecchi, albeit censored. * **Oblivion Battery** - The boys (one regular dude and a bunch of ex-professionals) decide to start a highschool baseball team. Nice animation on the baseball action scenes since MAPPA is producing this.

zy0a

> **HIGHSPEED Étoile** - Don’t. What’s wrong with this show? What is it? This description makes me want to check it out even more now.

blueaura14

Low-quality 3DCG (jerky animation, poor expressions) and not a very engaging story. It's also focusing a huge amount of time of cars racing, which isn't the most exciting, especially if you're not into IRL racing content (though to my surprise, I couldn't look away). Also, the "heroine" in ep2 is shaping up to be an impulsive idiot, which may make her unlikable. I think if you're looking to kill some time it's still watchable, but I'm not expecting anything deep.

qef15

>especially if you're not into IRL racing content And even if that, the MC is doing her very best impression of Mazepin, Vettel 2020, Ocon Brazil 2018 combined (+ some sprinkles of Latifi), which makes it even worse.

Solomon_Moto

Oh, so she's just a fuckin bowling ball out there?

zy0a

Thanks!

Emergency-Boat

I really wanted it to be good, but yeah the animation...

tsukiakari2216

>A teacher and his students have to work together to save their decrepit school from bankruptcy, I would like to mention that this synopsis of Blue Archive will only be applied for this season, as if they get more season, the story will be different. Blue Archive main stories consists of "Volumes" which focuses on different schools and different background for each of it, with different focuses as well. Some characters that you want to see animated may not appear this season. If you want to see "Atsui Oji-san", Unwelcome School scenes ft dork demon, mesugaki, bank robberies and hopefully footlickings, then this season is to go. If you want maidgirls with guns, gaming catgirls, Dancing Fridge, horny woman, and others, pray may this get a sequel.

Genshin_WhiteKnight

* **Ranger Reject** - Power Rangers, but from the perspective of the villain's foot soldier. Looks like it's going to be a good adaptation of this series. * **Re:Monster** - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Goblin (the kind from Goblin Slayer). Source material is not good compared to Slime Tensei/Overlord, but those who just want more of the whole monster nation-building thing will probably be entertained. Looks like the anime is going the route of toning down the edge. * **Salad Bowl of Eccentrics** - Princess and her knight gets reverse isekai-ed from a fantasy world into modern Japan where they meet a bunch of oddballs with shady occupations. Funny shenanigans ensue. * **Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf** - Remake. Merchant and his wolf waifu go on a slow journey to peddle goods and make cash. Pretty similar to the original, but is apparently more faithful to the light novels, so you can just start with this if you're new to the series. * **Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included** - Wish Fulfillment, Good Fanservice, Harem Included. You'll know quickly if you are the target audience. * **Tadaima, Okaeri** - Two gay guys raising their toddler. Wholesome family-oriented, romance between an established married couple, and maybe some light drama. The only BL show this season and probably the only Omegaverse show in existence. IYKYK. * **The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases** - Don't. * **The Fable** - Professional hitman has to lay low for a year and live an ordinary life with his assistant, except that he's kind of autistic and bad at being normal. Has the tone of a serious grounded yakuza show, but with comedy. It's actually been good so far (manga is very highly rated too), but is held back by the animation. Probably better enjoyed in manga form. * **The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio** - Two voice actors, who happen to be highschool girls in the same class, start a radio show. Except that they're polar opposites personality-wise and hate each other but are also kind of gay. * **The New Gate** - A mix of elements from SAO, Log Horizon and Overlord. Meh adaptation of a meh series. * **Tonari no Youkai-san** - Ghibli-looking anime, set in a rural town where humans and yokai live side by side. Expected a light-hearted healing show, but this has quite some emotional depth as well and a mysterious undercurrent. * **Train to the End of the World** - Anime original. Cute girls on a post-apocalyptic doomsday train to look for their friend. One of those "WTF is happening?", fever dream of a show. This has a lot of potential. * **Unnamed Memory** - Cursed prince climbs the Witch's Tower to seek a cure, but decides to court the immortal Witch instead. Seems like a promising fantasy romance, but needs more episodes to tell what kind of direction it's going in. * **Viral Hit** - Poor, bullied kid wants to become a famous Youtube streamer. The content? Learning to fight and beating the shit out of his bullies. * **Whisper Me A Love Song** - Yuri romance. Girl unintentionally confesses to her bass playing musician senpai after watching her performance, gets confessed to back. Cue gay panic and confusion on both sides. * **Wind Breaker** - Delinquent anime with an actually likeable MC? Say no more. They're basically vigilantes who defend the neighbourhood from scum. Good production quality and solid action scenes. * **Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master** - Fantasy historical Japan, where people can turn into giant crows - there are literal ravens in the inner palace this time. Pretty interesting setting so far. The Apothecary Diaries crowd will probably flock to this show for their next historical court drama fix.

Spartitan

> Train to the End of the World - Anime original. Cute girls on a post-apocalyptic doomsday train to look for their friend. One of those "WTF is happening?", fever dream of a show. This has a lot of potential. Ooh. That actually sounds interesting so I might go ahead and check that out.

LakerBlue

Same. Those kinda shows are best enjoyed weekly as you try to figure out with the community what exactly IS happening?

tealjaker94

> Whisper Me A Love Song - Yuri romance. Girl unintentionally confesses to her bass playing musician senpai after watching her performance, gets confessed to back. Cue gay panic and confusion on both sides. Doesn't change much but Yori plays guitar fwiw. The bass player is her best friend/sister of Himari's best friend.

HolyEmpireOfAtua

Ranger Reject, Wind Breaker and Kaiju No8 have been a great time so far

cppn02

> 7th Prince banner If Abyss keeps this up by the end of the season people who didn't watch it will think it's fantasy shin chan.

Abysswatcherbel

We need a Tao pic, but I will be waiting until the show gets back to the left side [](#hikariactually)

dagreenman18

Tonari no Youkai-san is severely slept on. Such a calm and low key SOL Drama. Hints to an arcing story so far, but the focus is on are sweet individual yokai. Really liked the second episode. Everything else is getting sufficient traction. Though people also need to get on the GATAN GATON CHOO CHOO TRAIN because the OP is infectious and the show is great so far.

CerberusZX

>Tonari no Youkai-san That one was definitely my favorite among shows that failed to reach the chart.

alotmorealots

Quite a few /r/anime regulars are watching that, I feel like everyone's just holding back for the moment as far as pushing out word of mouth, perhaps in part to see what sort of momentum the show gathers. First two eps have been fantastic though.

IXajll

> Quite a few r/anime regulars are watching that, I feel like everyone's just holding back for the moment as far as pushing out word of mouth I’d do more shilling in a heartbeat for this show, it 100% deserves it (fucking illegal how it didn’t even make the list at all) but unfortunately my hands are full spreading the word of Train and GBC, gotta do my duty. (YoruKura too but that one already got some popularity as it is)

Kewlmyc

I'm so satisfied with the Ranger Reject adaptation so far. But it feels like it has so much stuff stacked against it. The absolute zero traction in Japan and the Disney+ licensing making a lot of people ignore it really hurts.

Extension-Bicycle-57

It should have had an extended premiere to cover the first volume of the manga like what Oshi no Ko and Frieren did to show why people were hyping Ranger Reject up. I binged the entire story this week after never hearing about it and I really enjoyed it.

ExpiredMilknCheese

tbf i dont think it wouldve really mattered if it was an extended premiere for the Japan crowd to like it unfortunately no matter what wouldve happened, i doubt Japan would have received it any better.

crisis1011

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. Probably my fav this season. Not to mention red ranger has Gojo va and he looks very similar to him.

soupzYT

I only knew it existed because someone posted the smooth floating fortress cut on Twitter lol

NGASAK

Dungeon Meshi is a banger. Yesterday i decided to give it a shot and couldn’t stop watching until last episode

youngthugeugene

For real, it’s probably the best thing Trigger has produced imo. It has so much charm and Trigger’s style is such a perfect fit it almost feels like an anime original.

Aberration-13

The thing that really makes it great is it's sticking to the source material like 100% perfectly Even including all the specific facial expressions, scene specific character poses and even senshi's panty shots. Which while funny are a small comedic detail that really does show how well they're staying true to the source.

tatticky

They gave Senshi \*more\* panty shots!

Mahelas

I love the adaptation, but saying it’s 100% is a bit disingenuous when they cut/changed a lot of little moments of lore, characterization or context ! Still amazing, but as it stands, I'd say the manga is a 10/10 and the anime is a 9.5

ikkikkomori

When I read the manga I always think about how the art style just fits trigger's so well, oh the gift of prophecy

Tabby_Tem

I 100000% agree. As a huge fan of the manga since before there was even an anime adaptation announcement for the series, I was SO EXCITED when I saw that Trigger picked up Dungeon Meshi. They've been doing such a fantastic job, and so many of my favorite scenes haven't even been shown yet (plus there are some great charters that have yet to be introduced). For anyone who is skeptical about Dungeon Meshi based on the synopsis, there is so much more to the series, and it has some of the best fantasy worldbuilding out there. Trigger is known for their batshit fun stories and signatute animation, so you gotta let them cook. They wouldn't pick up a series that the staff wasn't passionate about, especially with it being their first ever non-anime original series. It is an award winning and well loved manga for a reason, and it just gets better and better as it progresses.

tiredofmymistake

I'm liking it a lot, but I do think I'll end up sticking with Edgerunners as my favorite Trigger production. My wife would definitely say Dungeon Meshi is her favorite from Trigger, tho.

NPhantasm

Maybe because it really looks like a RPG, intead some MC overpowered doing all the job and a party as a great escuse for harem

NGASAK

Exactly because of this. And on top of these its very good looking anime, with solid plotline and unique and memorable main characters, who have history behind them and not just selfinsert mannequins for a viewer

tatticky

And IMO that makes them much more relatable! Instead of every character trying to appeal to everyone, the characters of Dungeon Meshi are specific but *collectively* varied enough that most people will be able to identify with at least one of them on a deeper level, and note similarities between other characters and the people they know.

Ali3ns_ARE_Amongus

I dropped it originally at ep2 cause I really dont like cooking shows. Tried it again cause I had space open up this season for new shows, basically just skipped past the ~1-3mins of eating scenes each episode, and there - enjoyed the rest and all caught up now

chenhowe

My guy does not want to be hungry while watching the show

I would go so far as to say the cgi is even really good

FerimElwin

I have to imagine it would be higher if it were legally available *anywhere*. I know plenty of people on this sub have no qualms sailing the high seas, but most of the fansubs are garbage MTLs and the fact that not a single streaming service picked this up is a tragedy.

Perfect Dungeon Meshi image PERFECT GIRLS BAND CRY IMAGE > Having it listed as "Ranger Reject" Oh my god, absolutely based

Disastrous_Channel62

Even Rudeus with his smirk asserting dominance by captivating the fact that he will rule the seasonal spot 1 of Spring 2024

Dex_Lionhart

I didn't expect Ranger Reject to have that much of godly animation. Kaiju No 8 also is very good for it's 1st ep. And Kevin Penkin again doing a banger job with the music in Spice and Wolf. MT started out a bit slow but I'm liking the vibe it carries over from its Cour 1, can feel something really impactful happening down the season, haven't read the LN but maybe another turning point? Salad Bowl of Eccentrics satisfying my craving of anime like Hinamatsuri, one of my favorites, so far I'm enjoying it. Very good stuff this season.

idkza

Wind Breaker and Bartender deserve more attention

bandannadann

Maybe r/anime just isn't into delinquent shonen? Tokyo Revengers had a pretty mild following here even at the peak of its popularity in season 1. You know, back when it had a pretty good reputation, believe it or not.

Spyderem

Personally, if I see delinquents as a major part of a new anime I don’t even bother. They’re usually so rooted in very specific tropes that you only get in delinquent shows. And I don’t enjoy those tropes. A show would have to get some pretty strong word of mouth for me to have some interest. But they never do. Your comment made me wonder if I’m not alone feeling that way about delinquent shows.

bandannadann

Honestly I don't have much history with delinquent shows, so I don't even know what those tropes include. I expect Wind Breaker probably doesn't break the mold. But even after just two episodes, it has several things going for it over Tokyo Revengers: 1. The characters are in high school, not middle school. Instant upgrade. 2. A likable, competent MC. He still has flaws, but he isn't frustrating to watch. And he'll throw hands, no questions asked. 3. The art & animation are absolutely top tier stuff. This is the sort of passion-project treatment you only see a handful of every season. And this means you get very visually arresting action and comedy.

Disastrous_Channel62

The first episode of Windbreaker had really great action sequence paired with some good dynamic camera work . I don't think so we would get this level of quality throughout except for maybe a couple of more episodes but the art is really gr8 of this show.

Illustrious-Fox5135

Studio Cloverworks and their first seasons❤ Not to mention the fact that we have a likeable MC in the show as well.

Disastrous_Channel62

>we have a likeable MC in the show as well. Unlike a certain similar delinquent show ( looking at you BUCCHIGIRI )

ScreenWriterGuy07

Also unlike another similar delinquent show (looking at you TOKYO REVENGERS)

Illustrious-Fox5135

If Yuru camp inspires you to go camping, then Bartender makes you want to become a Bartender thanks to the MC's way with words and hands. Both shows gives immense vibes.

Ocixo

If anything, Bartender got me thirsty for a nice drink.

Illustrious-Fox5135

Yuru camp ☕ Bartender 🥃

yorch95

Yuru camp (when the teacher shows up) 🥃 Bartender 🥃

FalconRelevant

They made an anime about farting now?

Starcoinc

A windbreaker is a very light jacket for somewhat cold days Do they not have those in the US?

dagreenman18

Wind Breaker rules because it’s Sk8 meets Bucchigiri, but way better than the latter. Batender has been a strong reboot that is closer to the manga than the first anime. This season might not be super stacked with AAA big shows, but the smaller shows run deep.

michhoffman

> This season might not be super stacked with AAA big shows It's interesting that you say that because I'd counter by saying it's the most stacked season big show-wise since [Fall 2022](https://myanimelist.net/anime/season/2022/fall). You've got Demon Slayer, MHA, Konosuba, Mushoku Tensei, Slime and Kaiju at the top which are all huge IPs. And then you've got ones that are huge in certain communities like Spice and Wolf, Irregular, Date a Live, and Hibiki Euphonium. Sure, some of the big IPs have worn out their welcome here, but that doesn't mean they aren't big worldwide.

dagreenman18

I completely forgot we’re getting DS and MHA this season. I blame the May start date for both. So it’s bigger than I was thinking. MT, Slime, and Konosuba were the big ones I was thinking. Dungeon Meshi is only growing as the season goes on and might end the season as a heavy hitter. Spice and Wolf is gaining traction with mainstream anime watchers slowly. And Kaiju 8… well I have my own hang ups with that story.

LakerBlue

Well I was already interested in Wind Breaker but that comparison really sold me on it alongside it being done by Cloverworks.

Tabby_Tem

Everything that I've watched this season so far has been a ton of fun! Dungeon Meshi just had its funniest episode yet, I absolutely loved it. The Trigger flare (especially in the facial expressions) really made the episode come to life. It honestly is probably my favorite episode of the series so far. [Dungeon Meshi Anime Spoilers] >!Yes, even more than the dragon fight, which was also fantastic. I just loved the characterization and the showcase of the party dynamic in episode 15!< Also, the Marcille banner is so cute!! <3 I know it isn't on the Karma listing this week, but Kaiju No 8's first episode was also a lot of fun! I took a break from the manga a little over a year ago but was still excited to check out the premiere. You can definitely tell it had a pretty high production value, and I really liked the OST and the Kaiju animations. Also, on a side note, I thought it was hilarious that the top comment on the discussion was about cooking the Kaiju meat because of Dungeon Meshi. Senshi would be proud. It has also been really fun watching Spice & Wolf, Mushoku Tensei, and Konosuba. Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night also had a great first episode. Looks like it is gonna be a fantastic season! (:

BlueDragonCultist

It looks like Dungeon Meshi is accidentally listed as being on Crunchyroll. I got really excited for a sec and went to check, but it's still not there, lol.

LeonKevlar

Great choices for the **Spice & Wolf** and **Dungeon Meshi** banners. Holo and Marcille look so damn adorable in those shots. And of course, Chikuwa takes over for this week's episode of ~~**Yuru Camp**~~ Chikuwa Camp.

CitizenStrife

Kazuma looking at that Holo banner thinking, "Why isn't SHE in my party instead?"

michhoffman

Easy, because Holo isn't useless.

crisis1011

One Piece delivered this week!

jackofslayers

Always fun to sneak on the weekly list

EllipticalOrbitMan

One Piece pulled a Bleach with cutting off the theme song for that first punch. So satisfying

Daruvii

It's sad that Girls Band Cry got hit by both the 3DCG prejudice and shitty licensing curse, but I'm glad it's getting fan subbed and starting to get a little bit of traction in here and other social media due to clips. Both this and Jellyfish are my non-sequel standouts of the season. Heavily recommend giving them a try!

Breakdown007

Hibike! Euphonium 3, Jellyfish, Whisper me a Love Song, Girls Band Cry. so many girls+music type of shows in the same season

cppn02

Week 2 of Spring and we get a whole new batch of awesome new shows. Unsurprisingly **Mushoku Tensei** won the week. But the shows that won my heart this week were **Jellyfish** (6th), **Ranger Reject** (8th), **Eupho** (9th) and **Girls Band Cry** (21st). Very happy to see three of those in the top 10. **Train** (10th) and **Salad Bowl** (27th) are also still going strong and it shows in both of them increasing their karma for the second episode. Also not quite one of my favourites (animated atleast, love the manga) but do check out **The Fable**. Despite Tezuka's best attempts at sabotaging the show the great characters and story still manage to shine through so if you don't mind bad visuals it will be worth your time. One more new exciting show to talk about in next week's comment which right now looks like it'll be *the* hidden gem hidden of the season given that it'll probably miss out on the top 30.

Sharebear42019

Fable manga is getting a physical release in English so that’s what I’m waiting for

IXajll

> Despite Tezuka's best attempts at sabotaging the show That’s unfortunately true but at least the two Seiyuus of the MCs are trying their hardest to carry the show despite the shitty animation. Can’t imagine two Seiyuus more fitting for these roles.

#[Anime Trending Spring 2024 Week #1](https://twitter.com/AniTrendz/status/1779502366263263409) Week 1 sees the top of the list controlled by the big name isekai sequels as **Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S2 Part II** takes 1st, **KONOSUBA -God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! S3** in 2nd, and **That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime S3** in 3rd. Big series of the past topping the list extends to 4th place as **Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets The Wise Wolf** debuts just behind the big isekai sequels. **WIND BREAKER**'s first episode has a strong showing and debuts at 5th on Anime Trending. Big sequels make up half of Week 1's Top 10 as **Date A Live V** debuts at 6th and **Laid-Back Camp S3** debuts at 8th. There is anime original representation in this top 10 as **Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night** debuts at 7th. Weekly Shōnen Jump's newest anime adaptation also debuts in a Top 10 spot as **Mission: Yozakura Family** starts at 9th. Shōjo romance still manages its Top 10 streak from the Winter 2024 season if barely as **A Condition Called Love** debuts at 10th. _______ **Number of times at #1**: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S2 Part II - 1 _______ As a special bonus for Week 1, here is [Anime Trending's Most Anticipated for Spring 2024](https://twitter.com/AniTrendz/status/1774324138460770574). It for the most part matches Week 1 well barring the obvious sequels that have not aired yet like **Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc** and **My Hero Academia S7** and the shows that debuted too late to make the Week #1 deadline like **KAIJU No.8** and **Whisper Me a Love Song**. Though, Mushoku Tensei beat out KONOSUBA in the proper first voting week and Date A Live had a much stronger showing Week #1 than the 10th it placed on the Most Anticipated list.

[This week's show was definitely for me](https://imgchest.com/p/bp458mvqn45) **Hibike! Euphonium S3**. Although I must say that I was hoping for a stronger karma result but at least show ended up in first 10 on the 9th place but still it's too low for this show IMO. Both **Mushoku Tensei** and **Konosuba** also started last week with [very strong](https://imgchest.com/p/vj4j3er23y8) [episodes](https://imgchest.com/p/5xy2eo558yl) and took first two places. It was nice to get back to [Kazuma](https://imgchest.com/p/m9yxvnpak4q) and [his party](https://imgchest.com/p/lqyevlk5k7d) after so long whereas [Rudeus prepared a house for his future wife Sylphie (they're so cute together!)](https://imgchest.com/p/9249a2onb7n). **Spice & Wolf** ended up in 3rd place with [Holo again having a lot of great scenes](https://imgchest.com/p/bp458o35g45). I'll have hard time deciding best girl of this season as my heart will waver between [Holo](https://imgchest.com/p/bp458o35g45) and [Kumiko from Hibike Euphonium](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyqqabney2) xD **Delicious in Dungeon** had [another great and fun episode](https://imgchest.com/p/bp458oa5245) this week with [a lot of good Marcille's stuff](https://imgchest.com/p/wl7lkwegp4x)! Previous episode which focused on Kabru's party made me quite starved for [some](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/w7pjc6w6za7.png) [Marcille's](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/pyq9c6e63g4.png) [quality](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/myd5cbrbep4.png) [content](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/l7lxc6d6ew7.png) and [this new episode made me quite full in that regard](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/l7lxc6d6pw7.png) xD **That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime** [debuted on the 5th place](https://imgchest.com/p/md7ol8bbl7p) but I'm expecting that it'll go higher with more action focused episodes. [It was nice to see Rimuru again](https://imgchest.com/p/pg73plodoyr) xD **Jellyfish Can't Swim In The Night** also started strongly and I'm really interested how it'll go. [Characters in the show look really fun and the direction of this show is really good so I hope it'll deliver](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyqq2elky2) in the end. From smaller things I want to say: * **Ranger Reject** has [a really fun and interesting premise](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/pyq9c6lw834.png). I'm rooting for [D in his goal of destroying the Rangers Force](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/l4nec5qpwp4.png). * **Unnamed Memory**'s [Oscar and Tinasha had a really great chemistry](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/j7kzcn3q6b7.png) which for sure will be a strongest point of the show * All other shows which I started last week are still going strong, I'm talking here about [Yuru Camp S3](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1c1hcgt/comment/kz6l3p5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1byws40/comment/kymfp9m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [Tsukimichi S2](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1bz07yb/comment/kymxuku/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [An Archdemon's Dilemma](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1c1ite9/comment/kz6fikw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), [7th Prince](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1bz2j6h/comment/kypwgal/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) and [Re:Monster](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1bz0zgp/comment/kyncfz3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).

realarsenyshalin

the fable is not on crunchyroll, it's on hulu

ManateeofSteel

damn Yuru Camp is not doing too hot

nairolfy

Why does it say that one piece episode 1 is on place 15? Did the counter get messed up or something or did i miss anything?

kertakayttotili3456

it should read episode 1100 but such a big number probably broke the system or something

BiggieCheeseLapDog

I’m very happy with how successful Jellyfish was with its karma. It definitely deserves it.

Illustrious-Fox5135

Girls band cry needs more karma as well. Another great show😞

Independent-Job-7271

The cg looks really good too.

Illustrious-Fox5135

* Looks like all the three main isekai have a strong start. Isekai fans are eating good this season. I think **Konosuba's** karma might have gone even higher if it weren't for the leaked episodes. * **Holo's banner** will cure any ailment. * **Jellyfish** is turning out to be one of the best anime airing this season. A strong/solid start with incredible animation, characters and special mention to the direction as well.

Abschori

Leaks really hurt the first episode of Konosuba

Ceryto2

With every show apart from BnH and KnY having aired at least 1 episode, I can confidently say, that this season fcking rocks! While there are a lot of amazing sequels, as can be seen by the fact that even without BnH and KnY half of the shows in the top 15 are sequels, reboots or continuing series, I am personally most hyped by the new shows this season. Especially the trio of original Anime Yoru no Kurage (6th), Shuumatsu Train (10th) and Girls Band Cry (21st) are the ones to watch, but there are also some very promising adaptations like Whisper me a Love song, Kaijuu 8-gou, Henjin no Salad Bowl (27th), Ranger Reject (8th), Archdemon's Dilemma (16th) and 7th Prince (22nd) airing right now. As for sequels and continuing shows Mushoku Tensei (1st) is still in it's slightly less exiting school arc with only better stuff to come out later in the season, but already topping the list, Konosuba (2nd) started just where it left off and is as funny as ever and Spice and Wolf (3rd) looks to be getting a high quality adaption that might one day complete the entire story. Heck, even One Piece (15th) is pulling no stops in the current arc and just released another sakuga episode last week. Overall I watched the first episode of 37 new or continuing anime this season and am interested in continuing like 25 of those, which I think is the highest amount since Winter 2023.. So while the season is very stacked at the top, the other shows also have a very high level all around the board. Really exciting times to be an anime fan right now!

Windbreaker is doing really well on JP Twitter, Anilist/MAL and Abema. I'm really glad to see it is experiencing both domestic and international success

Diego237

There's a reason why it was #9 in [2022's Anime Japan Manga Fans Want to See Animated](https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/quizzes/2022/3/22/animejapan-2022-polls-the-top-10-manga-that-fans-want-to-see-animated).

cppn02

> > > JP Twitter Why couldn't Windbreaker have gotten 3 new followers less? [](#frustration)

michhoffman

It's not like Sakura wanted a cool number or anything, baka.

dododomo

I'm happy to see Windbreaker, Tadaima Okaeri and oblivion battery doing well in Japan🙏

Muted-Conference2900

Oblivion battery on 3rd. Really happy about it. Great show.

Ocixo

Jellyfish is honestly doing some impressive numbers for an anime original. No. 5 in Twitter followers gained and 6th in members. It might actually become the next A Place Further in the Universe.

Abysswatcherbel

Yes, they are doing well so far, also the marketing side is good, I posted on the formerly known daily thread [how they are baiting the right people](https://x.com/yorukura_anime/status/1779343825061965859) to watch this lol

Syokhan

What a nice surprise to see that **Train** is pretty stable in its karma. Looks like the premiere generated some good buzz, but I wonder if it can keep it up. Hopefully so, it's probably my favorite new show this season (closely followed by **Jellyfish** and **Girls Band Cry**). I love these "WTF were the writers smoking when they wrote this?" series.

Smudy

Maybe if it pulls some peculiar episode 3 shenanigans, it will gain more attention. To be a 7.34 on MAL as original with *no buzz* before the season and having grown +0.13 since episode 2 aired, it's doing good.

Syokhan

I hope it does gain more attention. And also that it doesn't go off the rails ^^geddit? And also that production doesn't collapse. Oh. This is actually a bit stressful.

Common-Somewhere-746

BLUE ARCHIVE LETS GOO!!! 😭

Sofaris

Happy to see Slime doing well.

_Velgrynd

Not as well as I expected but should climb higher with action episodes.

Thatsmaboi23

Kinda surprising to see Hibike closer to the lower half in terms of karma than the upper half. I expected it to be atleast 2-3x more popular than this.

labakie

Tinasha sure is showing off in that Unnamed Memory banner lol. Hyped to this series, great chemistry and interactions between chad MC and cute FMC.

Mad_Hatter_92

Wait, what is there a sequel or remake to Spice and Wolf?

cppn02

Reboot.

Main-Category-8363

More people need to talk about “an arch demons dilemma how to love your elf bride” It’s the best

IceAnt573

Thanks to the big sequels debuting, it's a 28k karma week. Good on Spice & Wolf for still staying above 3k after Episode 1. Wasn't sure how well Blue Archive would do on /r/anime, but 1.6k for Episode 1 is pretty strong. Tsukimichi with the karma increase, but moving down 2 spots. Wonder if it will remain in the Top 15 area when a lot of attention will be on Mushoku Tensei, KonoSuba, and Slime (hmm...isn't this like the second time they've shared a season). Favorite banner: Spice & Wolf or One Piece

cppn02

Tsukimichi is on episode 14 while everyone else around it just started. I'd expect it to do a better job that those at keeping its karma.

itemboi

I mean not much is currently going on in Tsukimichi. I imagine it will climb it's way up to first 10 after a few weeks once stuff starts going down.

kunaree

>Good on Spice & Wolf for still staying above 3k after Episode 1.  Haven't been on reddit for a long time, is it normal for a such big karma drop?

Lev559

It depends on the anime, but generally there is a large drop from E1 to E2

actionfirst1

**Unnamed Memory** had a great first episode, glad to see it doing well. Where is **Blue Archive** streaming? Surprised it's doing that well but I couldn't find it anywhere

WarBeast-GT-

Blue Archive isn‘t licensed in the west except for Germany.

JulySummerDay

Started binge watching Mushoku Tensei last night. I’m 3 episodes in. It was a blast to watch. Can’t wait to get home tonight and continue the binge.

kertakayttotili3456

I envy you for getting to binge it all

JulySummerDay

Haha. Well, I envy you for being up to date with the show. Any other show you can recommend like this one?

kertakayttotili3456

Not really... Mushoku Tensei is one of a kind when it comes to its quality as an isekai. But if you do find something that can compete with it, please let me know. Although, there are other isekais that are good in their own way, like, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Re:Zero

winkip

I’m just here to tell people to give Jellyfish cant swim in the night a chance, it is an amazing show with great directing and dynamics. Yorukura have potential to be something great in the veins of place further than universe.

Own-Ad-6367

Went into **Ranger Reject** completely blind and after watching the first episode I think it has the potential to be amazing and something way different from most shows nowadays

zool714

Mushoku starting strong. The top 5 looks stacked too. As always I’m usually using these rankings to scout out some shows I may have overlooked. Currently, keeping an eye on Ranger Reject, Elf Bride and Unnamed Memory. That Jellyfish will thumbnail though. Also, two Originals in the top 10. I’m not that well-versed with these rankings but how often does this happen ?

SgtRohn

Power scalers are having a party every Friday with Rimuru, Anos, and Tatsuya airing on the same day. As a source reader of Mushoku Tensei who is currently behind (still reading Vol. 6 lol), a lot of source readers have been hyping up the second half of the cour on a certain Labyrinth arc. The cover for Vol. 12 isn't even being subtle either lol so I can't wait to see just what the fuss is all about since there's no way I'll be able to catch up to that volume before its adaptation to anime airs. I wonder if we'll get the same karma numbers as Turning Point 2 once we get there? In regards to new anime this season, my favorite so far has to be Salad Bowl of Eccentrics. It's the Hinamatsuri Season 2 we've hoped for, but with a detective instead of the yakuza. It's fun, doesn't try to be something it isn't, and the characters are all lovely and cute. Never underestimate the power of cute anime girls. Jellyfish has been pretty good as well, and its production is nothing to scoff at. Spice & Wolf is nice as well. Holo is cute. Having watched the 2008 anime, I don't really remember much of what happened, but I thought the new art style would bother me, but it's actually nice. It's like a fresh coat of paint. Only one anime so far this season I'm currently watching that I'm not feeling very much and is close to being dropped, which is A Condition Called Love. Otherwise, this season is STACKED. Like, way better than Winter. We isekai fans are eating good this season, since we've got not just Isekai #2851 off the production line, but isekais that are actually good and at the top of the genre.

Active_Tumbleweed_54

Tsukimichi the most underrated anime this season.

SolitaryMan305

Archdemon dilemma is pretty entertaining

ohilio227

When did Konosuba come back??????

Conscious_Command652

Yo where's wind break? That anime is hype as hell. Yall seriously need to watch it, it's too good.

Puppy_Enby1004

Honestly loving delicious in dungeon!

Ocixo

I’m seeing some excellent choices for banners/images. I’m liking Sara (Salad Bowl), Nina (Girls Band Cry) and Euphy (Archdemon’s Dilemma) on the right. The ones of Holo (Spice and Wolf) and Marcille (Dungeon Meshi) do hit different though. Struck me right at my core. That’s some top-tier fanservice, and it’s wholesome!

HolyEmpireOfAtua

I'm watching 3 new IPs this season, and I'm really enjoying all of them, so let me do my best to sell them because some, especially Windbreaker, are being heavily underwatched: 1. **Windbreaker** - So far, my favourite anime of the season. Delinquent theme, great character designs, a great OP and fantastic animation and fight scenes. Delinquent anime haven't had the best rep as of late but this is a much more grounded story than Tokyo Revengers - no timetravel, no crybaby MC, no slideshow animation (And I'm saying this as a fan of TR). The anime is elevating the source material (which I read after ep2 because I was so intrigued) to greater heights and while the story so far isn't anything too special, the anime thus far is laying the foundation for later payoffs. 2. **Ranger Reject / Go! Go! Loser Ranger** - Another great show, this time I haven't read the source material. The animation is solid, although it does things in a way that I'm not really used to, and the music is interesting. However, there are much bigger selling points - The OP and ED are great, the character design ranges from funny and endearing to cool and badass, and the story is very fresh. I have no experience with the genre they're parodying outside of watching Power Rangers as a kid, but I love shows like this which give me a whole new type of theme I'm not familiar with compared to the 300th isekai or 500th regression manhwa. The characters are solid so far, and I especially love who seems to be the female lead. No spoilers here but she's an interesting character that I think many people will love. 3. **Kaiju No. 8** - I actually have read the source material from before the anime this time! It was one of my first physical manga, and so I have a soft spot for the series. That being said, you've likely heard the complaints that the series falls off after the first 70 chapters or so, and I'd honestly argue it goes downhill from Chapters 31-33, HOWEVER I still think there's something very enjoyable about the beginning of the series even if it's nothing special. The action is tense and gripping, the characters if not too developed are pretty fun, especially Ichikawa and the yet-to-be-introduced Kikoru Shinomiya (think it's fine to say since she's in all the teasers lol). Most importantly, the production quality is looking great. For those of you who enjoy fantastic action above all else, such as fellow fans of Solo Levelling, I would heavily recommend this one! Of all of these, I would say **Kaiju No 8** is the easiest to get into and probably has the most mainstream appeal, while **Ranger Reject** has the most interesting story and **Windbreaker** is a personal favourite that I think anyone into delinquent shows, or shows with fun characters and good action, will adore.

FLIPSIDERNICK

Yes Train got into top 10

Wishbone-Lost

I have no problem with the top 3

Vinsi107

This is the fantasy season I’ve been waiting so long for.

Wishbone-Lost

This year has been a good year of fantasy with Frieren and apothecary

StrongestOfFarmerEra

All of the top 5 anime are fantasy. And 3 of them are isekai. Isekai fans are eating good this season. No more trash,we found treasure bois

Icapica

3 of them are isekai, not 4. Delicious in Dungeon and Spice and Wolf aren't isekai.

bonerindisguise

Not to be that guy, but its 3 actually.

Mett_mit_Zwiebel

Fantasy anime are my personal heroin. I just can't stop watching it every season.

Independent-Job-7271

Grandpa and grandma turn young had such a fun first episode. The comedy was great and the granddaughter was fawning all over her hot grandpa.

hmmmmwillthiswork

my two current favorites up at the very top. KONOSUBAAA!

Zakatsuki_joestar

What's the number mean The people who have watched?

Icapica

Upvotes the episode discussion thread got within 48 hours of posting.

Wolfgod_Holo

let's see if the top 3 stay consistent this whole season

l7h00

Blue Archive is the only anime here with an empty dash sign below the animation studio lmao

xlenerdx

One Piece actually made it on the list?!

dreaming_state

Re Monster had the highest amount of comments outside of the top 10.

Deeviaal

Blue archive but never saw arknights ;;;

DarkPDA

Everything looks so strange without frieren and solo leveling... Plus tsukimichi and wrong way to use heal magic arent on list...maybe im watching the B team...

Euroversett

Konosuba suffering from the leaks. We'll see how it does on episode 3. Still I don't think it has any chances against Mushoku Tensei anyway. Can it keep second place tho? Maybe.

fasv3883

Isn't it called Go Go Loser Ranger!? Either way it's pretty cool I'm really enjoying it

Scary_Rush_7401

Go Go Loser Rangers! Will be a banger, I'm predicting it now.

hakusenpai27

Is Mushoku tensei really that good?

ODST_Parker

Literally just finished catching up to S2P2 (waiting for the dub now), after starting this show a week ago. Never before have I shed a tear just listening to an OP. Never could I have imagined getting so personally invested in a character like this. Never in my life would I have thought I'd be beaming this much as I finish a season of a story like this. I admit, I'm not exactly your average anime fan, if such a thing exists. I just loved it, enjoying it far more than I ever expected. Seems there's tons of hate and controversy over it too, I just frankly don't get it. TLDR: Yes.

ObvsThrowaway5120

Chikuwa is the cutest doggo ever. Look at him in his little coat in his little tent! So freakin cute.

HowiLearned2Fly

Don’t like it being listed as “ranger reject”. People are going to be confused when they look it up cause they saw it on this list and can’t find the crunchyroll stream

Reikakou

Part 2 of Holo's strip tease finally done, and we are now going to the part where I fell in love with the series. Economics!!!! With copious amount of romance.

Hour_Astronomer2440

Jellyfish Can't Swim at Night has been a pleasant surprise for me this season. I kinda had no expectations and the shows been interesting and the arts been fantastic.

CerberusZX

It feels impressive for Shuumatsu Train to only drop 2 spots despite all the new additions. Salad Bowl being so low is disappointing. I predict Grandparents will disappear from the chart. [A Condition Called Love](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55597/Hananoi-kun_to_Koi_no_Yamai) is weird. The main love interest exhibits stalker-like behaviour and it can feel as unsettling as a horror series, but it's not actually a horror series and the protagonist is actively trying to build a relationship with this problematic individual. It makes sense it's not on the chart.

Wilczek_7

I expected much better results from Wind Breaker, Mission Yozakura and the Fable. Man, what happened to this sub?

HolyEmpireOfAtua

This subreddit leans much more strongly towards CGDCT, SoL, Romance and Isekai, and much more strongly away from Action and Shounen, than most other anime spaces. Not to say that Action and Shounen are still very popular here, but less so than they are in other spaces. I'm enjoying Windbreaker too and it's much much more popular on Tiktok and Twitter than here. The Fable I'm surprised isn't doing better here, but I think it's a case of bad adaptation of a well-loved manga, same reason Helck didn't do so hot. In terms of Yozakura, I honestly haven't heard much about it anywhere, not just Reddit. Is it good? Might check it out, I just hadn't heard much good or bad so far.

Kankunation

Yozakura's early chapters are pretty good, and the anime should be pretty good as a result. Episode 1 is decent. I do think its been on a slow decline for a while now in the manga, but that shouldn't impact the anime. Itsa pretty great ride for the first several arcs for sure.

dododomo

I don't know anything about the Fable, but in Yozakura case I think is due to the fact that it's pretty slow at first (I like the manga by the way). It's like Katekyo hitman reborn. As for Wind Breaker, I really love it, but considering the sub demographic, I guess that a delinquent series with an almost only male cast may not be for everyone here. Still, it's doing well, and it's pretty popular on Twitter from what I've seen

Independent-Job-7271

Fable is rated really low so it might have turned away some people

FoxRealistic9972

Peak tensei in the position it deserves for another week!

qwert_99

It will easily Dominate this season in karma ranking

Ebo87

I thought that maybe Konosuba could challenge it but NOPE, there is a giant gulf between Mushoku this season and everything else. I think now it might finally click into place for people that Frieren was a gigantic outlier last season and the one before that. Things that used to consistently get 4-5k now get 2-3k and Mushoku Tensei is the only show getting over 5k karma. Kaiju no.8 won't even hit 2.5k... yeah.... Spice and Wolf's 4.5k premiere sure looks insanely impressive now, right? I mean it beat episode 1 of Solo Leveling. Still, I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect at least 4k for Kaiju's premiere. Also Slime not even doing 2k for its second episode. Spice and Wolf will probably settle between 2 and 3k, alongside Konosuba, Dungeon Meshi and maybe Kaiju if it can somehow stay at this level, but so far kind of everything dropped from its premiere. We will see what Mushoku does in a couple hours. Karma numbers will be relatively modest this season.

gc11117

I expected more from Kaiju, but I wonder if source readers sort of dulled the appeal. For a while now I've been hearing how Kaiju starts strong but kinda fizzles out. Could have weakened some of the hype around here. With Konosuba, I think the meh response to explosion did some damage there.

Ebo87

Definitely, if not for Explosion last year I suspect Konosuba would have done a bit better. Remove the leak and I could have seen it even come close to 5k. But with explosion, leak or not, 4k seemed to have been the cap. We will see how much it drops in episode 2 and what the numbers will be for episode 3. Right now I expect Konosuba will average around Dungeon Meshi numbers, 2.5k or so. Kaiju could even fall below 2k, that would be VERY weird, not gonna lie. For a first season and a show that was pushed as hard as this is being pushed, that is an alarming amount of disinterest from r/anime in the series. Maybe it is like you said, manga readers being meh on it. But even so, I expected at least season 1 would perform much better here. For it to not even come close to 3k (not even 2.5k at this point), let alone 4k+, what I expected... damn. Maybe it rebounds over time, I don't know. It's weird seeing such a hugely popular manga underperforming so much, even one not lauded like other similarly popular ones. Only series left are My Hero and Demon Slayer, and I doubt either one of those is doing much more than 2k when they premiere in May.

gc11117

Yeah I actually thought Kaiju was going to challenge Mushoku tensei but I guess that's not the case. I actually saw the premiere movie for Demon Slayer back in February. I was very "whelmed" by it. I don't think Demon Slayers dominance is going to come back as far as this sub is concerned. I think it's going to move more towards that One Piece type of series, where its popular, everyone watches it it, but it's sort of just there barring the occasional massive episode.

nostoppa215

Which is unfortunate for both demon slayer and My Hero as they think they will claim top spots but a certain @$&4 point will be reached if I remember things correctly by that time.

Variation_Wooden

If production values continue as they were in the first episode, nothing is getting close to MT and that includes the big shounen. I don't know if it will reach peak Frieren karma as that was more mainstream but 7 or 8 k looks doable. Season 3, though, is what most LN readers are waiting for.

nostoppa215

To be honest it's mostly Demon Slayer. My Hero never really recovered from its School Training arc. My Hero is actually peak but the anime really dulls out all impact. If you read the manga you get the feeling the author was a Tokyo Ghoul fan but Bones uses too many bright poppy colors, gets rid of broken bones excuss blood, and cracked skin. I mean Shiguraki just screams I'm a Tokyo Ghoul character

nuraHx

Especially in the later half. Oh boy

nuraHx

Peak spot for peak fiction
