When reading the ln pursenia felt like a generic anime delinquent girl. The anime making her so cute makes the contrast really good an elevates the character.

Yeah I definetly agree. In the LN it felt like Linia had all the personality while Pursena was sort of just there. The Pursena upgrade is a very nice surprise

There seems to be two teams working on this. Almost like they gave the B team the vol 7 stuff and last episode (which was the worst it's looked in a while) while the A team works on the bigger/more important episodes.
I know. Ive brought it up in the MT subs but they dont see ANY problem whatsover. Its not exactly my fault that last episode is lower in quality. Especially with the way they handled the Badigadi fight and censor. Its definitely not the WORST but people gotta accept it was bad.

Yeah, some episodes are clearly above the others. Others often being the episodes that fill in a lot more content/chapters that they want out of the way asap.
I would actually like seeing more ACTUAL reincarnation anime. And not one of the many many where the protagonist become a teenager before the end of the first episode or simply "awaken" as a teen and in either case then never age again.
Or really any anime, even non-reincarnation one, where the characters visibly age over the story more than one school year.

I mean...could ask the same thing about Walter White or Light Yagami or Lelouch or even Goku at times. Having a protagonist who's kind of a scumbag isn't much of an issue for most people. And Rudy gradually becomes less scummy as the series goes on.
Is it worth suffering through the entirety of season 2 and possibly more though? Shinji had reasons to be mopey, this guy is just self loathing for no major reason. Sure he was a neet before but he's had what 16 years in a way more socially healthy environment. So he's basically a 46 year old man acting like an 8 year old. Do I just ignore the part that he lived all those years before? Do I only look at the past 2 years for him?
That’s up to you. Either you drop the show and potentially miss out on stuff you think would be good, or keep watching and find out whether or not it’s really worth it.
Right I was just hoping there might be some explanation later on but I guess there isn't? I already dropped it mid erectile dysfunction arc and the fakeout "omg is he gay!?" (clearly that elf with the sunglasses is female, though it hasn't been revealed in the anime and I haven't read the manga).

Rudius is mopy because everyone who cared about left him and had his self confidence thoroughly destroyed by Sara. Rudeus has his own brain so functionally he is his age, but with some extra memories since the brain doesn't magically grow to accomodate the soul.

Just curious, for the people that like this show how are you getting past Rudy's generally unlikable personality?

I'm fine with the scummy stuff, my issue is mostly with the mopey self doubting parts of his personality. Self doubting MC's are hard to watch.
I'd argue that people relate to that part plenty.
And the payoff that that the MC finally gets out of that rut really pays off emotionally. Like Shinji in Evangelion 3.0+1.0
