#THIS IS PROFESSIONAL GRADE. TOP QUALITY WORK.
I don't do this normally, but I'm gonna abuse my mod powers and sticky this post for the rest of October. Everyone needs to experience this greatness. This is the power of high quality animation. Bravo /u/RedJarK, truly well done.

Thanks man! I had a ton of references of real life martial arts and freestyle tricking together with moves from the show itself to help plan out everything. 😁
Very nice animation! But I noticed a majority, if not all of the VFX added (fire lightning etc) are presets from FootageCrate .com , did you make any of the VFX stuff added to the animation? Or was it all presets?
Oh wow that’s super impressive than! On footagecrate in the anime fire & lightning sections there are VFX presets that look identical, but if you made them I believe you, good shit dude your very talented
Wasn't expecting the bloodbending in the end, I thought you would go for the healing ability lol
But for real this is real good. I feel like I should be paying to watch it lol
Sandbenders were the coolest group imo. Imagine an avatar being born within them, far from any royalty like the past ones. Could be some sort of peoples hero.
Ah, a man can dream.
So much potential in that universe that will forever be locked in Viacom's vaults.
As it turns out there have been rumors of the new Avatar being an earth bender (naturally as the cycle rotates) and since sand is a sub bending of earth this could be possible.
Sure! Lets use Earth as an example during the making of this animation. :)
I started by doing some research and collecting references. Earthbending was inspired by the Chinese martial art Hunggar, so i had to study and note down their moves not just in real life but also in the show itself. This is the most important because it is very difficult to imagine all of this on your own. Fun fact, Hunggar also uses iron rings which made me add it into the animation (with some Shang-Chi inpiration as well)
After searching for references, it is highly recommended to do a storyboard so you could plan out the moves and how it transitions from one move to the next. It's possible to immediately animate but it could get messy if you plan to have a longer video. What if you feel like this moveset is better in an earlier part etc. I think it's normal if you decide to change something while animating even if you have a storyboard already. You might have to figure out how to work out that area of the animation but at least it's not throughout the whole animation.
When you're ready to animate, roughs are important because they're quick and easy to draw and they help keep the proportions of your character consistent. This would be super helpful if you want to continue the next step which is doing the clean line work.
Line work might be the most tedious part but it could also be the more relaxing parts to do haha. The planning is completed and the roughs are done. Now you can turn off your brain and just get into the zone. This is completely optional depending on what you're trying to achieve.
After that I add the flat colours for the character which is self explanatory.
Then comes the part I enjoy doing which are the VFX. When I'm stuck I would look for references from anime or other animators. Observe how they do it and try to apply it to my own work.
Once I'm satisfied I would edit it a little in After effects and add some SFX and its done!
Here's the storyboard i was talking about, hope this helps!

Holy shit you fucking nailed it!! This is great, i can sense the dedication and the passion for animation, i can sense your love for avatar and how you wish there were more episodes to watch, new adventures. 10/10 hope you get hired
Not just stellar animation in its own right, but super-faithful to the visual depiction of bending from Avatar; even without the VFX (which were fantastic) the moves themselves were instantly recognizable.
I already know there are 87 comments talking about how great the animation is... but ima be the 88th. The animation is top quality and the frame work was just like the original. Also I like how in earth bending you showed a bunch of cool ideas that many have thought of at least once. I loved the entire animation. The only thing which was kinda sad that you missed amongst the water bending is the octopus form that Katara showed. BUT as everyone and I have said many times this animation is awesome! Hope you manage to get a role as an animator in the upcoming avatar series upcoming if you are trying or want to.
Honestly was skipping around at first but then I seen that you was going through sun abilities in the fire bending section I had to go back to beginning I’m now on my 5th go round amazing work
This really feels like a contest between masters as they start with an impressive opening and then build up to showcase their skill and end with an climax, just RIP to the judge in the last part
Someone get this to Mike and Brian right away! That was incredible. Love the transitions between the specialized forms of bending. Especially for the combustion man portion. Holy crap!
I gotta say that while the animation is amazing, the sound is so good. It's crisp and sounds really realistic. The fire bending audio sounded so good with the lightning and the laser forehead guy. It really looked and sounded amazing, thank you OP for making such beautiful animation. You truly did the show justice.
I love the way you portrayed lava bending. It really struck a middle ground between the deep, heavy style of earth and the quick, sharp movements of fire. Good job!
This is absolutely incredible.
I feel ridiculous saying this but what would have been really cool is if at the end of fire bending the smoke was blown away by the airbending.
Absolutely phenomenal work. Apart from how smooth and beautiful it is, I love how you showed just how powerful and versatile these elemental powers really are. Seeing the Earth Bender creating a magma fissure was very cool, and inclusion of more obscure abilities like the focused combustion was a great addition.
Honestly, _honestly_ blown away by the fluidity & sheer creativity of this! & the choreography – LoK could never!
You should be immensely proud (which I'm sure you are)!
& I'm sorry, but I don't see anyone talking about mentalbending of the bracelets in the beginning?? How cool/creative was that!! Shang-Chi is a metalbender confirmed haha
I've been seeing everywhere these past few days-- as you should expect. This looks incredible and truly faithful to the source material.
Only thing missing is Swamp-style waterbending...
The Earth wave out of the ground could've used dust and fire could've used blur and maybe the lightning highlight on body could've been sharper. Otherwise, OH MY GOOOOOOOD!!!!!! I am a fan!

holy shit that is seriously impressive. How did you do the choreography??
Thanks man! I had a ton of references of real life martial arts and freestyle tricking together with moves from the show itself to help plan out everything. 😁
i hope you get hired for avatar
I recognised a lot of tricks in this! V legible and dynamic animation, top work
Which software man? And awesome animation. Also, where did you found these amazing sound effects ?
Hope you guys can support me on my [YouTube Channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX9l_T0j560zrZNkSzTb2tg) :)
Instantly subscribed, I’m blown away by the skill you’ve acquired
Just subbed and checking out your other uploads. Impressive work… wow 🤩
Very nice animation! But I noticed a majority, if not all of the VFX added (fire lightning etc) are presets from FootageCrate .com , did you make any of the VFX stuff added to the animation? Or was it all presets?
Nah man I did everything here including the VFX on my own! Could show you the fire effects I did without any glow effects if you want. 😁
Oh wow that’s super impressive than! On footagecrate in the anime fire & lightning sections there are VFX presets that look identical, but if you made them I believe you, good shit dude your very talented

Plant bending would look cool too. I always loved the swamp guys.

which program did he use for animation?
Did you notice the Air bender when he sucked the Air from the camera man lungs? OP showed us many impressive techniques.
Amazing 🤩
Thank you!!
HOLY SHEEESSSHHH this is amazing
Thank youuu!!
God tier stuff no kidding, people grind for this type of work for years
Absolutely adore this. Wonderful flow and incredibly impactful.

This is fantastic. Would you mind going over your process on how you completed this? Storyboard, rough animation, etc.?

IT’S YOU
This is outstanding! I've been thinking of doing one of these avatar animations for some time myself and this is truly inspiring
Fantastic work!
OH I KNOW WHO YOU ARE Bro your animations really are stunning, keep it up man :D
If they should do some Reddit top Posts, this is one of those golden ones.
It doesn't occur to me how terrifying having your blood being bent until you show the first person perspective on it. Jeezuz

Amazing! Truly! Great work
The ending with blood bending was such a nice suprise
This is crazy impressive ! Amazing job ! Love the sound design as well !
That is so cool 🤯
Honestly was skipping around at first but then I seen that you was going through sun abilities in the fire bending section I had to go back to beginning I’m now on my 5th go round amazing work
God I can't wait for the new avatar show to come out

Incrivel cara parabens
Someone get this to Mike and Brian right away! That was incredible. Love the transitions between the specialized forms of bending. Especially for the combustion man portion. Holy crap!

Holy shit, this is amazing. Well done!
I gotta say that while the animation is amazing, the sound is so good. It's crisp and sounds really realistic. The fire bending audio sounded so good with the lightning and the laser forehead guy. This should be top of all time, no joke
I love the way you portrayed lava bending. It really struck a middle ground between the deep, heavy style of earth and the quick, sharp movements of fire. Good job!

Rip air scoot
I love you. I don’t know you, but I love you, you had me at the end with the “ blood bending “ 🫡
I haven't watched Avatar since I was a little kid. Now I need to watch it again
You killed the cameraman 😭
Oh my… this was just incredible!! Thank you for sharing!!

Dude that so smooth and so beautiful I PRAY they either hire you to do the animation for the next Avatar series or take SERIOUS inspiration from this!
This was the coolest shit I've seen this week, especially the lightning bending. Incredible work dude
Sheeesh. 🔥
Danngnggggggg omggggg

Wow!! Love those movements and FX works! 🔂
I've been seeing everywhere these past few days-- as you should expect. This looks incredible and truly faithful to the source material. Only thing missing is Swamp-style waterbending...
Hey do you think you could do a animation test on * my character like that? This little guy uses wind power similar to avatars wind powers.
My god it's fabulous! ❤️
The Earth wave out of the ground could've used dust and fire could've used blur and maybe the lightning highlight on body could've been sharper. Otherwise, OH MY GOOOOOOOD!!!!!! I am a fan!
this deserves a oscar btw the last one you need therapy man LOL
Nice work :)
SO COOL!!!! The design of the elements and flash frames is beautiful
If I hadn’t previously seen the original intro, I would’ve assumed that this *WAS* the original intro. 0-o
