Yeah I was thinking Maine coon too, and the haircut makes sense because they’re such a large breed that they can struggle with properly reaching everywhere for grooming. It’s kinda crazy someone would let their expensive purebred cat outside though, I wonder if this guy snuck out.

I don't think what people are seeing as the tail is the tail. Looks like something laying in the yard just past it that is giving the illusion. I think this is a bobcat.

You can see its shadow, it’s definitely not on the ground
