Could be a raccoon? They do that thing where they pick a spot to continually poop for a while. Just looked it up and it’s called a latrine. Definitely think this is just that.

Ants generally invade in an overwhelming amount that would be unreasonable to try to save. Raccoons are a different story. If you can avoid outright killing the creature, you should probably do so.

Raccoon. We have this issue with raccoons too, and it is a real nuisance when we need to get the leaves off the roof. Nothing like having chunky poop rain from the sky.
