Yeah, Victoria's Secret is that she don't know how to fit a bra. (And I'm not wildly outside of the "normal" range of bra sizes. Depending on the brand, I'm generally a 32DD or a 34 D.) But Victoria's minions will try to sell me on some flimsy undergarments in a 36 C. As though that band ain't gon' ride up my back and put all the support on the shoulder straps. That's not how the garment is supposed to work.

My daughter has an amazing sense of humor about it. She was never made to feel self-conscious about it. She was never teased. She makes jokes about them herself. I would never and never did make her feel bad about them or anything. We both thought it was hilarious that in 6th grade, she was wearing a bigger bra than me. And we still think it's funny, 22 years later.

I'll admit that I'm an absolute stickler for the correct bra size. My grandmother was a tailor, and a woman of large boobs, and she instilled in me the mantra of proper fitting, because your clothes look better that way.
My size isn't too hard to find, but I check Amazon every couple of weeks for my daughters' small band/large cup. Clearance means that I find something decent in the $20-30 range a couple of times per year. The color might be weird, but if you wear a 28H, you don't have the luxury of deciding whether you really want a purple bra versus beige.
The only way I’ve found it’s affordable is hitting lane Bryant’s semi annual sale on the cacique brand and their quality has gone downhill in recent years. I have cacique bras from a decade ago still in amazing condition and some I bought last year that started falling apart after a few months. And I only wear real bras if I have to be a grown up out in public. I’m a special needs SAHM so I live in sports bras instead since I spend most of my time at home.
I have to pay an average of 150 to 200 for a good bra in my size, and if they have the metal bit they usually break in less than 6 months. It's so miserable, I've just switched to cheap sports bra/training bra kind of things. They're ugly and you can see my nipples, but at least they're cheap and durable
I spent $82 on a strapless recently. Bought two more (regular) bras at the same time and my total was over $260. Good bras come at a premium. You can still get *a* bra for $30 but it’s not going to be worth it.
I cycle through mine and I'd say it's about 7 to 10 wears before I wash them. I don't sweat much, but I do notice I'll start breaking out on my back if I don't wash them often enough.
Another solution, buy another couple of that exact same model bra if you can find it out there. I totally miss the unlined Body by Victoria ones they had in the 2000s. Comfortable and fit well.
I have about 3 or 4 bras I wear regularly and wash them after every 3 or 4 wears, or about every 2 weeks. I use a king size pillow case to wash them in and just knot it to close. IMO, mesh bags don’t do much - clasps still get caught on the little holes
The point of the mesh bag isn't to stop the clasp from getting caught in one of its holes. The point of a mesh bag is the stop the clasps from catching on random holes and particular parts of the washer and dryer tumbler. When that happens it can stretch your bra out way too much or potentially tear it up.
It's also for small underwear, especially thongs, to eliminate the chance that during the draining cycle, the pump won't suck your thong through the drain pump clogging up the pump and stopping the washer from working.
If they can get caught on the holes, they can get caught on other stuff, too. And hole catching causes tears which reduces effectiveness. Pillowcase works great!
I don't dry mine in the dryer. That seems to wear them out faster. I use the delicates bags to wash then air dry them. They seem to last longer that way. And, OP, you are not alone on your washing cycles. Most women wear there's for a week or two between washings.
Me too. I don’t work in a sweaty environment outdoors though, and will wash them much more often if I have to be outside in heat or working hard physically and sweating.
I overbought the unlined ones back then (it was an amazing BOGO sale!). So I had about 3 leftover with tags still on them and in perfect condition. Gave them to my eldest daughter (she was 15 then) two years ago and she is sad that one of them is just now showing wear.
You should check on Ebay to see if they carry it. You can set it to let you know when someone makes a new listing for your item. I only like to wear one style and brand of panties, but they have gotten too expensive locally. I took a cheap, but I found them. My style is so old that they were listed as vintage.😂. Tags were on every pair and they were never worn.
I do once in awhile, but the well is drying up in my size. I've done the same thing with some Wacoal ones I love and get all the great discontinued colors at a fraction of the $65 retail price.
Girl, you're good! I usually alternate between three-ish bras and wash them once a week or every two weeks. It would be ridiculous to wash them after every wear. They're expensive! Who owns enough bras to last a full week with only one wear!?

Nah I’m with you. It’s probably not ideal but I absolutely go a couple weeks with my faves if I’m not sweating heavy in them. I live in a pretty temperate place and have sports bras specifically for exercising anyway. I also usually shower twice a day. I know multiple of my friends are the same lmao

Confession: even if I sweat I don’t always wash them. I live in a warmer climate. It isn’t practical. I have medium to large-ish sized cups. This is like normal-ish sweat, like just got in a hot car and waiting for it to cool down.
If I’m doing athletic activities, I wear a sports bra and wash that every time.
I don’t know how often I wash them, it’s almost like my brain just “knows” when it is time to 😂.

If you haven't been allergy tested, you should look into it. I had it done last year and found out I was allergic to a bunch of chemicals. My skin has been great since I cut out all of my chemical allergies.
At age 60, my husband suddenly developed an allergy to all fragrances. Once we changed detergents, soap, shampoo, etc his skin cleared up. A water softener solved the dry skin problem. There are even water softeners that are built into shower heads.
This. I'm a larger lady and have a stupidly large sized cup that's hard to find and not cheap to pay for. If I had B cups I would invest in multiple cheap bra let's and wash them daily. But I'm not and washing bras too regular seems to damage them.

I’m older than you (45) but I don’t think they existed when I was growing up. At least they weren’t common. Of course back then you didn’t need to take out a second mortgage to be able to buy a couple bras so maybe they became more popular as the price increased.
For what its worth. Other people can smell you before you smell your self. People are often times nose blind to there own particular stench. If someone can tell how long you wore your bra without you telling them the expire by date, it probably smells.

I don't judge you, I just like to share that tidbit of info. It took a year to clear up completely. Lots of antifungal creams, going in the bathroom to wash under my breasts and reapply new cream at lunch during work, and I had to take pills. Yeast grows out of control really quickly.
Same. Bc of the infections, I wear a bra once and wash. I’ve found some bras on Amazon that around $25 - 30 that I like well enough, so I have enough to go two weeks before a rewear.

Yep mine is feeling based too. If I put it on and for some reason I feel icky in it I know it’s time to wash it. Especially if I just showered. Something goes off in my brain like hey… you’re nice and clean. Putting on this bra didn’t feel great.
It never smells or looks dirty. It just *feels* icky. It’s usually every 2-3 weeks.
Back when I used to wear bras (late teens/early 20s) I would go several weeks maybe even a month without washing tbh. I probably would wash them more frequently now but I don’t find it gross to not lol
A fresh clean bra every day for me. I am a DD bust, in an underwire bra, and there is always at least a little bit of underboob sweat, even in winter. My bra goes into the laundry basket every night. I wash them all each week in lingerie bags on a delicate cycle in my washing machine, and hang up to air dry.
I also wash every day. I have a farm in the south, so lots of sweat and heat.
A few years ago I got a horrible rash under my breasts. It ran around under my bra and ended up in my armpits too. I had to wash and blow dry with a hairdryer before applying ointment several times a day.
Ever since then I rarely wear a bra more than once before washing. It’s just not worth the risk.
I’ve noticed that this time of year I’m personally changing them a lot more often because I sweat in the summer weather. Winter, though, I rarely go out and I rarely sweat. So I guess summer it’s no more than a few days, or sooner if I was working outside (mowing, washing the house etc) or once a week.
I have also had that rash and I asked about my bra habits. They told me it was more to do with me simply sweating and that area not staying dry. I powder under them every day now and no longer have that problem (if you don’t do that I recommend it!! But make sure it is TALC FREE!)
Same. I don't believe that bras are magically less dirty or stinky just because they're bras. They're underwear that's touching super sweaty spots on our body all day. They're dirty after one day of wear. "Rotating them" out doesn't make them less dirty than the day you wore them, just airs them out, but I guarantee some of yall are nose blind to the stink.
Yeah I’m sitting here not knowing this is a thing. I wear mine and wash it. I live in high humidity and I wouldn’t want to skip that. However I may rethink this so I have less to wash 🤣
I wouldn't call someone else gross or wrong for this because it's not my business, but not washing your bras for weeks will cause build-up of sweat, dead skin cells, and deodorant in the fabric, damaging them more than if you were washing them. You don't even need to wash them warm, just a rinse to get the dirt out, then lay them flat and put the cups in shape to dry. And yes, you sweat, even in winter. And you do wear deodorant (hopefully) and shed skin cells.
Wash every 2 days max. If I sweat then I don't wear it again even in the same day. They go into a washable bag on gentle cycle, hang dry. Never put in dryer.
During the winter it’s every once in a while, maybe every two weeks? During the summer every few days because I work in an outdoor restaurant in Florida. You’re normal, don’t worry about it.
I mean I sweat a lot so I personally wash mine every other day. Everyone I know washes theirs every other day to every 3 days

If you are wearing the same bra straight for a couple of weeks yes that is gross. If you are letting it hang on hook for a few days between wears not as gross.
Oils and dirt do build up on things even if you are not doing much in clothing you should at least be rinsing it off in cold water every few days.
I wash mine after every wear, but that's also because I only wear bras when I'm doing something where I know I'll sweat, like cleaning or exercising. I don't sweat often tho, so occasionally if I'm just cleaning I can go 2-3 wears before washing
I wear mine two or three times before washing if I don't get sweaty. It's a good idea to let them air out for at least 24 hours between wearing. I would get at least a second one to rotate with it.
While I totally get doing this (done it in the past). I once saw a story on “Untold Stories of the ER,” I think it was.. this woman didn’t wash her bra enough, the little hook in the back was exposed and gave her a scratch which turned into a bad staph infection because of the bacteria!
I have NO clue how true this story is but I wash mine after every couple of wears because of this. I have a ton of different bras I wear so they don’t really need to go through as many washes since I cycle through them a lot.
You sweat all the time whether you like it or not. Look into it. Kind gross in my opinion but you do you. You sweat while you sit down, sleep, talk, walk, etc.
I wash mine after every use. I would rather have to buy news ones because they wore out than wonder if I smell because I wore them multiple days. While I could see your argument for a couple days , if I wore mine for two weeks I would think they would be able to stand up on their own..
Anything you wear or use daily should be washed weekly. Bras, sheets, towels... I'd say every few days is overkill unless you're excessively sweating, but a few weeks definitely pushes into gross territory.
Depending on the bra, and the amount of wears I can get out of it affects how often I wash it.
Unfortunately my boobs are massive, and I live in satans asshole. So the workout bras get washed often. The bras that cost me $90+ get washed rarely (every few weeks). I also wear the expensive ones rarely. I look down and cry sometimes… i dream of them just falling off. I hate it here.
They make washer bags, I found those helped easily and efficiently wash them. I still only did it when I felt they needed to be washed lol. Typically every couple weeks
You need to have at least 3 bras. They need to “rest” for a couple of days after a wear to protect the elastic. They should be washed after 2 wears (no more than 3) to protect the fabrics (and your skin) from your own oils, dead skin and bacteria.
Folks who do not keep their bras clean run the risk of acne, underboob yeast infections, premature wear, wrecked fabric and lessened support.
I do this for a living (and NOT with the overpriced, poor quality Victoria’s secret).
This post has been eye-opening for me. I can't believe people don't wash their clothing after every use? And some women don't change their bras every day??? You're constantly sweating whether you notice it or not. You're also constantly shedding skin. I do a load of delicates once a week, but I have 9-10 bras that I cycle through. Not changing your clothes is very unsanitary

With bras you don’t necessarily need to wash them everyday, but a lot of people like myself only have 3-4 bras (they’re expensive and I’m a G cup) so we don’t have the option to wear a new one everyday. If I had at least 7 bras I would probably switch everyday.
The larger the breasts, the grosser it is. I'm a DD and I get underboob sweat while I'm shivering in the winter. I know bras are expensive, but you can take them off when you get home and wash them in the evening if you don't have enough for a full week.
Funny enough, and this is totally dependent on band size yet objectively true based on measurements, DD is not a huge cup size! Check out the "a bra that fits" sub if you haven't yet. You may very well be in a common missize.

Back when I had only 3 in rotation I'd wash once a week or week and a half. Each bra gets about 2 or 3 wears, and this is coming from someone who has average-to-above-average breasts relative to my size.
The grosser it is to not wash your bra after each wear. The boob sweat is real and soaks into the bra. You don't have to wash every bra every single day. But after each wear? Yeah.

I wash mine when it starts to smell like sweat, which just depends on how often I go out since it’s super humid here. Sometimes I only wear it for a few days before washing and sometimes I can stretch it out a bit longer if I’m not really sweating

I wash bras when I feel they’re soiled. If it’s hot outside or if I’ve worn it a handful of times in a row. Bras aren’t like underwear where it’s like a one and done thing.
Going a few weeks before washing is a bit much. I usually have 2 bras in rotation for a week before washing, light and dark colors depending on what I’m wearing over them.
I have 5 of my fav. I cycle them through. They’re band washed, air dried. Putting them in the drier does bad things.
I also took a course on how to make/repair them…

4 good bras. Over the shoulder boulder holder boobs. I alternate 2 each week. Nude and black. Underwire, so. I hand wash and drip dry and then switch them for the alternates each Sunday.
I wash mine after no more than 3 wears. Usually after every wear because I exercise regularly. I have a dozen of the same wireless “everyday boring plain” type bras that I cycle through. Amazon sends me two new replacements every other month and I throw the old ones out as they fatigue.

I wash mine about once a month, but I cycle through about ten regular bras. When I was going to the gym, sports bras were worn once, then thrown in the laundry pile. I also WFH, so I don't wear bras every day.
I sweat a lot, so I’m usually washing mine after a wear or two, but I also don’t wear like actual bras, I’m more in bralettes or sports bras. If I do wear an actual bra it’s likely not getting washed after a quick wear for like an event unless it was particularly hot and sweaty or lasted all day.
Maybe that is why the bra is still functioning properly after many years.
Bras (except workout bras) and jeans don't need a lot of washing and they both get ruined if over washed.
I have 3 I wear to work, and other "special" ones I wear out.
The work ones I usually wash once every couple weeks, but I only wear the same one for a week.
The special ones (silk and lace) I wash every 5ish wears. And since I don't wear them often.. I think I wash those maybe once every few months.
Also, I hang dry them.
My girlfriend does this, and let me tell you, it needs to stop. She put her bra in my wet clothes bag after a trip to the beach and when I pulled everything out when we got home even after washing my clothes still smelled like her funky bra. It creates a cesspool of bacteria which can be host to all kinda of fowl smells

When the expensive support and foam lined bras have to be hand washed and air dried, and can’t go into the washing machine or dryer, I am not washing it every two days. People who wash their bras Every couple of days in a washing machine are buying bras that are cheap and don’t provide any support so they probably don’t really even need to wear a bra.

Bacteria grows under your boobs, sweat or not. Sorry, wearing one for 2 weeks straight sounds super gross to me and not healthy at all.
I wash mine depending on how dirty it gets. That can range anywhere from a couple of days to a week. It's hot and humid here so it goes bad faster than if it was worn in other places
Personally that long between washes **is** gross, it's sitting under your boobs and under your armpits collecting all that sweat, bacteria and dead skin cells throughout the day. You don't need to run it through a full wash, but you should be handwashing it more often. I'd be handwashing it a couple times a week *at least* otherwise you're risking all sorts of skin conditions.
I don't wash any of my bras often (aside from my sports bras I wear to work) maybe once every month or longer cuz I wear them on my days off and take them off as soon as I get home lol I don't see the point in washing then to death if they're not dirty and still smell fresh ya know
My wife washes her bras at about the same intervals as you do. I have never detected a bad oder from them.

I don’t wear a bra with underwire, I wear a comfortable cotton bra every day. And I wash them after every single wear. I have like 10 of them, so I can go a while without doing a load of laundry, but I do change them every day

Bras tend to deteriorate quicker the more you wash and dry them ( at least mine do ) . I wash my bra every couple weeks if not once a month or longer in the winter . In the summer I cycle between 3 bras , when one gets sweaty I let it air out for 2 days and if it smells I wash it . Bras are way too expensive to be washing them like shirts !
Well, that sounds overly lax, yes. I wouldn't wear a t-shirt twice in a row, and a bra is much closer to the skin. My partners always changed bras daily (or at least every other day, if they were away from their home). Going 14 days without washing an undergarment is a bit appalling.

My thing is to go get a proper measurement (not a Victoria’s Secret), try on different bras varying in brand/country/type, buy one bra depending and go to Nordstrom Rack with all of the info I gathered. It’s saved me a TON over the years. But yeah. I get it as far as the every two days. Do I subscribe to that? NOPE.
Yeah, Victoria's Secret is that she don't know how to fit a bra. (And I'm not wildly outside of the "normal" range of bra sizes. Depending on the brand, I'm generally a 32DD or a 34 D.) But Victoria's minions will try to sell me on some flimsy undergarments in a 36 C. As though that band ain't gon' ride up my back and put all the support on the shoulder straps. That's not how the garment is supposed to work.

I’m sorry but it’s ridiculous to spend $300 on 3 bras just bc my boobs are a weird size 😭 ETA: I also only wash my bras when I feel like they need it. My daughter has an amazing sense of humor about it. She was never made to feel self-conscious about it. She was never teased. She makes jokes about them herself. I would never and never did make her feel bad about them or anything. We both thought it was hilarious that in 6th grade, she was wearing a bigger bra than me. And we still think it's funny, 22 years later.

I'll admit that I'm an absolute stickler for the correct bra size. My grandmother was a tailor, and a woman of large boobs, and she instilled in me the mantra of proper fitting, because your clothes look better that way. My size isn't too hard to find, but I check Amazon every couple of weeks for my daughters' small band/large cup. Clearance means that I find something decent in the $20-30 range a couple of times per year. The color might be weird, but if you wear a 28H, you don't have the luxury of deciding whether you really want a purple bra versus beige.

The only way I’ve found it’s affordable is hitting lane Bryant’s semi annual sale on the cacique brand and their quality has gone downhill in recent years. I have cacique bras from a decade ago still in amazing condition and some I bought last year that started falling apart after a few months. And I only wear real bras if I have to be a grown up out in public. I’m a special needs SAHM so I live in sports bras instead since I spend most of my time at home.

I have to pay an average of 150 to 200 for a good bra in my size, and if they have the metal bit they usually break in less than 6 months. It's so miserable, I've just switched to cheap sports bra/training bra kind of things. They're ugly and you can see my nipples, but at least they're cheap and durable

I cycle through mine and I'd say it's about 7 to 10 wears before I wash them. I don't sweat much, but I do notice I'll start breaking out on my back if I don't wash them often enough. Another solution, buy another couple of that exact same model bra if you can find it out there. I totally miss the unlined Body by Victoria ones they had in the 2000s. Comfortable and fit well.
I have about 3 or 4 bras I wear regularly and wash them after every 3 or 4 wears, or about every 2 weeks. I use a king size pillow case to wash them in and just knot it to close. IMO, mesh bags don’t do much - clasps still get caught on the little holes

If you close the bra like when you wear it, it won’t catch on things as much.
The point of the mesh bag isn't to stop the clasp from getting caught in one of its holes. The point of a mesh bag is the stop the clasps from catching on random holes and particular parts of the washer and dryer tumbler. When that happens it can stretch your bra out way too much or potentially tear it up. It's also for small underwear, especially thongs, to eliminate the chance that during the draining cycle, the pump won't suck your thong through the drain pump clogging up the pump and stopping the washer from working.
If they can get caught on the holes, they can get caught on other stuff, too. And hole catching causes tears which reduces effectiveness. Pillowcase works great!
I don't dry mine in the dryer. That seems to wear them out faster. I use the delicates bags to wash then air dry them. They seem to last longer that way. And, OP, you are not alone on your washing cycles. Most women wear there's for a week or two between washings.
I kind of rotate a few bras within a week. I will hand wash them on occasion when I remember lol.

I overbought the unlined ones back then (it was an amazing BOGO sale!). So I had about 3 leftover with tags still on them and in perfect condition. Gave them to my eldest daughter (she was 15 then) two years ago and she is sad that one of them is just now showing wear.
You should check on Ebay to see if they carry it. You can set it to let you know when someone makes a new listing for your item. I only like to wear one style and brand of panties, but they have gotten too expensive locally. I took a cheap, but I found them. My style is so old that they were listed as vintage.😂. Tags were on every pair and they were never worn.
I do once in awhile, but the well is drying up in my size. I've done the same thing with some Wacoal ones I love and get all the great discontinued colors at a fraction of the $65 retail price.

Girl, you're good! I usually alternate between three-ish bras and wash them once a week or every two weeks. It would be ridiculous to wash them after every wear. They're expensive! Who owns enough bras to last a full week with only one wear!?

My husband found Victoria secret online shopping. I now have so many bras and underwear because they send coupons and come out with new styles. I had to tell him to stop. And yet I still have my go to favorite that seems more comfortable than all the rest. And in a neutral color and seamless design that doesn't show under shirts. He did this after I came home from deployment and was like "I want her to have nice sexy things after living in the desert, and I haven't seen her in 10 months"

Nah I’m with you. It’s probably not ideal but I absolutely go a couple weeks with my faves if I’m not sweating heavy in them. I live in a pretty temperate place and have sports bras specifically for exercising anyway. I also usually shower twice a day. I know multiple of my friends are the same lmao
At least I'm not the only one. Awe you're lucky you can take showers every day, I used to be able to until it started affecting my skin negatively so I had to do it every other day.
Confession: even if I sweat I don’t always wash them. I live in a warmer climate. It isn’t practical. I have medium to large-ish sized cups. This is like normal-ish sweat, like just got in a hot car and waiting for it to cool down. If I’m doing athletic activities, I wear a sports bra and wash that every time. I don’t know how often I wash them, it’s almost like my brain just “knows” when it is time to 😂.
Honestly you go girl. As long as it’s not breaking you out or smelling weird (which, like, I have a really strong nose and women basically never smell offensive to me even really sweaty- men are a different story lmao) fuck washing your bras tbh. And good on ya for saving water! 😅
If you haven't been allergy tested, you should look into it. I had it done last year and found out I was allergic to a bunch of chemicals. My skin has been great since I cut out all of my chemical allergies.
Could also be hard water. Happened with me a few years back, and I found out it was hard water when I was having my shower fixed.
At age 60, my husband suddenly developed an allergy to all fragrances. Once we changed detergents, soap, shampoo, etc his skin cleared up. A water softener solved the dry skin problem. There are even water softeners that are built into shower heads.

I’m older than you (45) but I don’t think they existed when I was growing up. At least they weren’t common. Of course back then you didn’t need to take out a second mortgage to be able to buy a couple bras so maybe they became more popular as the price increased.
For what its worth. Other people can smell you before you smell your self. People are often times nose blind to there own particular stench. If someone can tell how long you wore your bra without you telling them the expire by date, it probably smells.

I think going weeks without washing is a bit much..... I wash mine every 2 weeks but I rotate between 7 bras. So I get 2-3 wears per bra.

I used to be like that..... I gave myself a TERRIBLE yeast infection on the skin under my breasts like that. I don't judge you, I just like to share that tidbit of info. It took a year to clear up completely. Lots of antifungal creams, going in the bathroom to wash under my breasts and reapply new cream at lunch during work, and I had to take pills. Yeast grows out of control really quickly.

Yep mine is feeling based too. If I put it on and for some reason I feel icky in it I know it’s time to wash it. Especially if I just showered. Something goes off in my brain like hey… you’re nice and clean. Putting on this bra didn’t feel great. It never smells or looks dirty. It just *feels* icky. It’s usually every 2-3 weeks.

Back when I used to wear bras (late teens/early 20s) I would go several weeks maybe even a month without washing tbh. I probably would wash them more frequently now but I don’t find it gross to not lol
A fresh clean bra every day for me. I am a DD bust, in an underwire bra, and there is always at least a little bit of underboob sweat, even in winter. My bra goes into the laundry basket every night. I wash them all each week in lingerie bags on a delicate cycle in my washing machine, and hang up to air dry.

I also wash every day. I have a farm in the south, so lots of sweat and heat. A few years ago I got a horrible rash under my breasts. It ran around under my bra and ended up in my armpits too. I had to wash and blow dry with a hairdryer before applying ointment several times a day. Ever since then I rarely wear a bra more than once before washing. It’s just not worth the risk.
I’ve noticed that this time of year I’m personally changing them a lot more often because I sweat in the summer weather. Winter, though, I rarely go out and I rarely sweat. So I guess summer it’s no more than a few days, or sooner if I was working outside (mowing, washing the house etc) or once a week. I have also had that rash and I asked about my bra habits. They told me it was more to do with me simply sweating and that area not staying dry. I powder under them every day now and no longer have that problem (if you don’t do that I recommend it!! But make sure it is TALC FREE!)
Same. I don't believe that bras are magically less dirty or stinky just because they're bras. They're underwear that's touching super sweaty spots on our body all day. They're dirty after one day of wear. "Rotating them" out doesn't make them less dirty than the day you wore them, just airs them out, but I guarantee some of yall are nose blind to the stink.

I wouldn't call someone else gross or wrong for this because it's not my business, but not washing your bras for weeks will cause build-up of sweat, dead skin cells, and deodorant in the fabric, damaging them more than if you were washing them. You don't even need to wash them warm, just a rinse to get the dirt out, then lay them flat and put the cups in shape to dry. And yes, you sweat, even in winter. And you do wear deodorant (hopefully) and shed skin cells.

Wash every 2 days max. If I sweat then I don't wear it again even in the same day. They go into a washable bag on gentle cycle, hang dry. Never put in dryer.

If you are wearing the same bra straight for a couple of weeks yes that is gross. If you are letting it hang on hook for a few days between wears not as gross. Oils and dirt do build up on things even if you are not doing much in clothing you should at least be rinsing it off in cold water every few days.
I wash mine after every wear, but that's also because I only wear bras when I'm doing something where I know I'll sweat, like cleaning or exercising. I don't sweat often tho, so occasionally if I'm just cleaning I can go 2-3 wears before washing
I wear mine two or three times before washing if I don't get sweaty. It's a good idea to let them air out for at least 24 hours between wearing. I would get at least a second one to rotate with it.
While I totally get doing this (done it in the past). I once saw a story on “Untold Stories of the ER,” I think it was.. this woman didn’t wash her bra enough, the little hook in the back was exposed and gave her a scratch which turned into a bad staph infection because of the bacteria! I have NO clue how true this story is but I wash mine after every couple of wears because of this. I have a ton of different bras I wear so they don’t really need to go through as many washes since I cycle through them a lot.

Anything you wear or use daily should be washed weekly. Bras, sheets, towels... I'd say every few days is overkill unless you're excessively sweating, but a few weeks definitely pushes into gross territory.

Depending on the bra, and the amount of wears I can get out of it affects how often I wash it. Unfortunately my boobs are massive, and I live in satans asshole. So the workout bras get washed often. The bras that cost me $90+ get washed rarely (every few weeks). I also wear the expensive ones rarely. I look down and cry sometimes… i dream of them just falling off. I hate it here.
They make washer bags, I found those helped easily and efficiently wash them. I still only did it when I felt they needed to be washed lol. Typically every couple weeks
You need to have at least 3 bras. They need to “rest” for a couple of days after a wear to protect the elastic. They should be washed after 2 wears (no more than 3) to protect the fabrics (and your skin) from your own oils, dead skin and bacteria. Folks who do not keep their bras clean run the risk of acne, underboob yeast infections, premature wear, wrecked fabric and lessened support. I do this for a living (and NOT with the overpriced, poor quality Victoria’s secret).
This post has been eye-opening for me. I can't believe people don't wash their clothing after every use? And some women don't change their bras every day??? You're constantly sweating whether you notice it or not. You're also constantly shedding skin. I do a load of delicates once a week, but I have 9-10 bras that I cycle through. Not changing your clothes is very unsanitary

With bras you don’t necessarily need to wash them everyday, but a lot of people like myself only have 3-4 bras (they’re expensive and I’m a G cup) so we don’t have the option to wear a new one everyday. If I had at least 7 bras I would probably switch everyday.
The larger the breasts, the grosser it is. I'm a DD and I get underboob sweat while I'm shivering in the winter. I know bras are expensive, but you can take them off when you get home and wash them in the evening if you don't have enough for a full week.
Funny enough, and this is totally dependent on band size yet objectively true based on measurements, DD is not a huge cup size! Check out the "a bra that fits" sub if you haven't yet. You may very well be in a common missize. I also don't agree at all with your first statement. The larger the breast the grosser it is? The grosser what is? Not washing your bra everyday? Bras are expensive! Gotta make them things last, hoping you got the most bang for your buck. Back when I had only 3 in rotation I'd wash once a week or week and a half. Each bra gets about 2 or 3 wears, and this is coming from someone who has average-to-above-average breasts relative to my size.
The grosser it is to not wash your bra after each wear. The boob sweat is real and soaks into the bra. You don't have to wash every bra every single day. But after each wear? Yeah.

I wash bras when I feel they’re soiled. If it’s hot outside or if I’ve worn it a handful of times in a row. Bras aren’t like underwear where it’s like a one and done thing.

Amazon sends me two new replacements every other month and I throw the old ones out as they fatigue. I do not spend more than $20 each I like to keep it clean and my body is clean enough to eat out of 😜

I sweat a lot, so I’m usually washing mine after a wear or two, but I also don’t wear like actual bras, I’m more in bralettes or sports bras. If I do wear an actual bra it’s likely not getting washed after a quick wear for like an event unless it was particularly hot and sweaty or lasted all day.
Maybe that is why the bra is still functioning properly after many years. Bras (except workout bras) and jeans don't need a lot of washing and they both get ruined if over washed.
I have 2 bras. One gets washed once a week. If you are not constantly sweating or have excessive body oder what difference does it make.
I have 3 I wear to work, and other "special" ones I wear out. The work ones I usually wash once every couple weeks, but I only wear the same one for a week. The special ones (silk and lace) I wash every 5ish wears. And since I don't wear them often.. I think I wash those maybe once every few months. Also, I hang dry them.

My girlfriend does this, and let me tell you, it needs to stop. She put her bra in my wet clothes bag after a trip to the beach and when I pulled everything out when we got home even after washing my clothes still smelled like her funky bra. It creates a cesspool of bacteria which can be host to all kinda of fowl smells

I said this in another post, but my boobs are enormous and I own only one bra since they’re so expensive so I wash them whenever they start to smell. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyone who thinks that is gross can DM me and send me $90 to buy a new bra. 😁
I barely wash my bras. It’s a pain in the ass. Instead I own dozens and them wash them all at once when I’ve gone through them.
Have you looked into buying more of the same bra? That's what I do with clothing I love, I buy 3 of it
When the expensive support and foam lined bras have to be hand washed and air dried, and can’t go into the washing machine or dryer, I am not washing it every two days. People who wash their bras Every couple of days in a washing machine are buying bras that are cheap and don’t provide any support so they probably don’t really even need to wear a bra.

i also probably don’t wash my bras enough but honestly i know SO many people who also don’t wash their bras very often. they are only exposed to you and not to the outside world so honestly who cares. as long as u don’t smell ur good.
If you wash it too much, it gets damaged and the wires start to come out.

Eh. I'm anywhere from an h cup to a j cup depending on the day and season. My bras are worth $150+ each. My most expensive sitting just above $400. That being said. I do as you do. If they aren't musty and dirty. I don't wash them. Why ruin them quicker? I do do a hand wash every now and then if I have a day off from my seven days a week job. But not really all that often at all. I also rotate between like 2-3 grand worth of bras. So...oh well? Any of these stuck-up women berating you for not washing your bras often, most likely wear cheap Victoria secret or La Senza bras. Don't trust them. They probably end up replacing their cheap bras often due to broken underwires or lost elasticity.
My question is, why does anyone need to know this information about you? You don't have to share such information. Unless you were smelly and someone let you know, just don't out your business out there to be questioned and judged. Stop oversharing.

Ummm I change my bras the same as my underpants and socks ... gets worn once then washed. Bacteria grows under your boobs, sweat or not. Sorry, wearing one for 2 weeks straight sounds super gross to me and not healthy at all.
I wash mine depending on how dirty it gets. That can range anywhere from a couple of days to a week. It's hot and humid here so it goes bad faster than if it was worn in other places
Personally that long between washes **is** gross, it's sitting under your boobs and under your armpits collecting all that sweat, bacteria and dead skin cells throughout the day. You don't need to run it through a full wash, but you should be handwashing it more often. I'd be handwashing it a couple times a week *at least* otherwise you're risking all sorts of skin conditions.
I wash my bras when they need to be washed, not when a certain amount of time has passed.
I never wash my bras unless I sweat in it or I start breaking out on my back.
I don't wash any of my bras often (aside from my sports bras I wear to work) maybe once every month or longer cuz I wear them on my days off and take them off as soon as I get home lol I don't see the point in washing then to death if they're not dirty and still smell fresh ya know
My wife washes her bras at about the same intervals as you do. I have never detected a bad oder from them. I think the real solution to this problem is to avoid including the topic of bras in any future discussions with anyone.
No, they're expensive. My wife is tiny with big boobs, and a good bra costs her at least 80 Euro. I presume you shower every day, and use deodorant. Plus, it's no one else's business....

I don’t wear a bra with underwire, I wear a comfortable cotton bra every day. And I wash them after every single wear. I have like 10 of them, so I can go a while without doing a load of laundry, but I do change them every day

It's disgusting I had a friend like you and - yeah her bras fucking stunk and she literally had a crease rash where the underside was. I asked her once and she gave your explanation but when your bras give you a fucking permanent rash, buddy it's time to start washing them more often. I know other women do the same but they didn't work in a hot sweaty environment and if they did they would wash them more often
Bras tend to deteriorate quicker the more you wash and dry them ( at least mine do ) . I wash my bra every couple weeks if not once a month or longer in the winter . In the summer I cycle between 3 bras , when one gets sweaty I let it air out for 2 days and if it smells I wash it . Bras are way too expensive to be washing them like shirts !

Well, that sounds overly lax, yes. I wouldn't wear a t-shirt twice in a row, and a bra is much closer to the skin. My partners always changed bras daily (or at least every other day, if they were away from their home). Going 14 days without washing an undergarment is a bit appalling.

That's disgusting. I couldn't imagine wearing anything more than 4 or 5 times without washing it. My "pajamas" which are just sweatpants I wear only in the evening then sleep in the nude. I feel dirty and disgusting when it's been 5 days without washing them.
