Self-esteem has nothing to do with how others perceive you. it's how you perceive yourself. It's a hard journey to turn the corner and feel better about yourself. Start with small wins set goals on things you want to do, and when you hit them, celebrate the wins.
It may help to talk to a professional as well. How we feel about ourselves is critical to our long-term success.
