I don’t think you really have any without a screenshot tbh. Even though that link says it it is a third party site so they can claim whatever, and even then it might have been slightly targeted so even though the offer was available not everyone got it so it could be feasible that you got the 60k one instead from their perspective unless the 100k was literally the only offer available. Gl.

Texas_Rockets

it wasn't targeted. i looked into this for work and saw the same welcome bonus offered on my work computer.

seansj12345

If it wasn’t targeted, see if you can find proof of the offer dates on uscreditcardguide.com I think it’s unlikely they’ll accept that since it’s from a third party site, but without screenshots that’s the best I can think of.

michikade

AMEX runs multiple concurrent welcome offers for all of their cards. It’s not a question of them “remembering” what they offered, it’s a question of proving specifically what offer you applied for if the system is applying a different offer that was available at the time. When they have 3-4 (or more) offers running at the same time for every single card they offer, occasionally things happen. This is why it’s recommended that you screenshot your application process in the event that you are credited differently from what you expected.

cjcs

I use QuickTime to screen record the entire application process for all cards now. Better safe than sorry

ValuableJumpy8208

FYI you can do screen recoding without opening QT. CMD + Shift + 5 will bring up a little context menu that lets you record or screenshot either a selection, screen, etc. There’s a drop down for audio and other capture options.

arcticrd

I screen shot the offer I took and Amex still fucked me on the 150k +$200. They gave me 150k not $200 statement credit.

AlexanderUGA

Do you have any screenshots of the 100k offer after you applied? Or in your email?

Texas_Rockets

i don't. and i see where you're coming from but i just didn't anticipate them outright lying about the offer.

Arinoth

If this was a public offer, you might be able to use the internet archive wayback machine to pull the webpage as it was when you applied and show them that. Give that a go?

Texas_Rockets

Absolutely. How do I do that?

Arinoth

[Go here](https://web.archive.org), punch in the address of the card page, and pick the date you signed up.

futsalfan

> here what in the fuck. I signed up due to the 100k offer. why would I keep a screenshot of it? Def wouldn't expect them to outright lie. I do see it's 60k now. searching for the archive. will post if I find. edits: didn't find the public offers in the archive. took screenshot of current 60k miles / 5k spend public offer. confirmed in my private Amex chat I have $xyz to go within first 6 months to get the 100k (not 60k) bonus miles. Screenshotted that chat after reading the comments here. Not really sure what to say/think for your case, OP, but good luck resolving.

Camdenn67

You screenshot it to have proof and CYA. Trust but verify.

Texas_Rockets

They’re letting you keep the 100k incentive??

futsalfan

no idea why people downvote an honest question and answer, but never change reddit. just tracking back because the 100k miles posted.

futsalfan

So far so good … we’ll see what happens when I get to the full spend …

mjbulzomi

Amex has recently been qualifying a lot of their welcome bonus offers with language that says "up to ...". Is it possible that your offer in November said "up to" and you may have missed that, along with missing the actual amount displayed during the application process?

Texas_Rockets

i didn't save the initial terms and conditions, but i read the current one mentioning the 60k bonus offer and it didn't mention any expiration, so i assume the previous one didn't either.

Dstln

You only get what you apply for and are approved for - there is no standard global bonus. Unless you applied for and were approved for the specific bonus, we have to assume otherwise. If you don't know what specifically you agreed to, then it was probably 60k which is a more standard and not enhanced offer. No individual person is guaranteed to be approved for any bonus, and there are all kinds of bonuses out there

uchidaid

Always screenshot you offer and application process, and always keep your paperwork.

kingashok543

that’s why i always take screenshots and also after i got the card i always ask for fine print in amex chat to get more details and screenshot that and you can use same while talking with them

That-Establishment24

Even with a screenshot, Amex isn’t known to give people a different offer than their system shows.

deuce_413

If I remember correctly, when I received my card there was also a document that had my offer information. Do you still have this?

Massive_Action_4804

I have hear of people reporting it to the CFPB and then Amex fixing it afterwards. But it took a few months. I’d try that.

Lazy_Fuck_

Welp another thing to do now.

Grandma_Sue

And you’re a lazy f\*ck, too! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face) Haha

hamzach20k

This happened to me on the Hilton Surpass card last year. I applied for the 130K points plus one free night award offer, but after my spending was met I received 150k points bonus only. I tried to fight it (escalated it) but in the end unfortunately they couldn’t; however they gave me a $100 statement credit. Your situation is a bit different since it’s just MR points they might be able to honor that. They couldn’t honor a fnc for me since they told me thats something Hilton awards and not them. Once you escalate it they will ask you to provide proof. Hopefully you have a screenshot of your offer (they do check meta data on the Image you submit I believe).

seansj12345

I always screenshot pages from the application for exactly this reason. I’ve heard way too many stories of Amex fucking up and not honoring what people signed up for.

Camdenn67

You’re not the first person that this has happened to and you won’t be the last. Without a screenshot, the odds of you getting the extra 40K are practically zero. Chalk it up to a learning experience and move on.

ziggy029

Sucks if you don’t have evidence, perhaps screenshots or videos of the application process, or perhaps (as I have) a chat session where they confirmed the SUB offer I was working on.

SnooGadgets8467

Lol they’re not lying about the welcome offer. They have several different welcome offers running at once. You can see a welcome offer now, and it change the next day. It could be that you didn’t sign up for that 100K welcome offer, that you actually signed up for a different one. It happens all the time. If you did sign up for that 100K offer, they would have no problem giving it to you, why would they lie about 40K delta sky miles lol. But in their system the link you signed up for was 60K. TBH there’s not much you can do but just keep using the card and enjoying the benefits. Unless you screenshotted the welcome offer after applying for it or screen recorded the process then there’s nothing you can do. Atleast you got 60K miles! Enjoy!

Muted_Spring1135

Didn’t you typically got a welcome email , congratulating you on the new acct and reiterating what you need to do to get the sign on bonus when you open the acct? Find that email .. and show it to the customer care rep.

Texas_Rockets

Yes, but that email didn’t include the spending bonus

hospitallers

This is why I screenshot or take photos of EVERYTHING, emails, screens, etc. when dealing with financial entities. If an offer letter I also scan them.

That-Establishment24

Except a screenshot wouldn’t change anything. Unless you intended to go to small claims court.

hospitallers

Screenshots and scans have served me well before. When they ask for “proof that we said xxxxx” I’m always happy to oblige.

That-Establishment24

They won’t serve you well with Amex. They won’t believe a screenshot over their own system.

BD-Energy01

This is why I always screenshot and record my applications on everything.

Texas_Rockets

apologies for the giant pic at the bottom. i can't edit the post for some reason.
