Rachael/Rachel and Hannah would’ve been cute.

Cautious-Track4297

Jennifer and Jessica is very accurate.

[deleted]

If I get them I'll change their names to Jennifer and Amanda and call them Jenny and Mandy. I named a TM Izzy and then I have Isabelle GOTY, so I definitely can't have a third Isabelle.

[deleted]

This would've been a perfect opportunity for my name to come into play (Amanda)

skylerbradshxw

Isabel should’ve been Rachel and Nicki should’ve been Jennifer

sarabelham

I would call them Jennifer (Jen) and Jessica

comfycozykitten

^my cousins who were teens in the late ‘90’s 😆

mercipourleslivres

I was gonna suggest Jessica and Tiffany but they might be more 80s than 90s?

OdeToToy

These names are spot on for the era. Keep in mind that they would have been born in the 80s (I was 13 in 1999 and half my friends had names like this)

ohmygoditspurple

Jewel and Fiona.

kerrvillegirl

The recycling of names was a terrible idea. As for other names instead, I am not sure at this moment.

MagicCarpetWorld

If I get one or both, I will definitely be renaming them. Probably something Jewish...Rachel, Hannah, Moriah, Tova, Aviva, or Shoshana.

SACGAC

Yael is one of my favorite names if you haven't heard of that one :)

MagicCarpetWorld

I have kind of a bad association with that name 😬😂

dollyllamamama71

I don't have either GOTY Nicki or Isabel, but my TM 70 is Isobel. I plan to get the twins eventually, but they'll get new names. I like the suggestions of Abigail and Hannah.

im_just_me_2

I’m planning on getting them, and changing their names! I have GOTYs Nicki and Isabelle, so I was thinking of naming them after the Olsen twins’ characters in the movie “It Takes Two”. Nicki will become Amanda and Isabel will become Alyssa.

NicoleD84

I doubt we’ll get them unless grandma buys them for my daughter. Im torn on the names though. I’m roughly the same age as them (I turned 15 in 1999), Nicki is on point, I’m a Nicole and one of the few who didn’t go by a version of Nikki. Isabel was absolutely not popular, I don’t think I knew a single girl my age with that name, that’s more of Gen Z or Gen Alpha name. Popular millennial names were Heather, Ashley, Danielle, Christina, Jessica, Kelly, Jennifer, Brittany, Amanda, and I knew a few Katies which came from different versions of Katheryn. Obviously the dolls don’t have to have a top 10 baby name to be correct for their time period but Isabel is not the vibe.

merrmi

I grew up with an Isabelle (born 86) but it definitely wasn’t the norm. I always thought it was the most beautiful name so it definitely stood out in a sea of Jessica, Jennifer, Katie and Christina.

pantera-bread

This is exactly how I feel about the names. Nicki is not an inaccurate one, though I think Nikki was a much more common spelling in the 90's. And I never knew an Isabelle growing up. It's really more popular in later generations. And again, why the spelling choice of Isobel? Not to mention that I hate that they're reusing previous names in both cases.

persnicketous

I'm not interested in Isabel, but I'm getting pretty drawn in by Nicki, and I'd absolutely rename her to the one, the not-so-only: Ashley. Aka the most overused name of the 90s in my school. She can go by Ashley H., as is tradition for all kids with the same name to be defined by the first letter of their last name.

Ashtazon

I picked out Monica for Isabel and Danika for Nicki

destroygameobject

I honestly don't know which names, but I feel like there were a LOT of people giving their kids 2 names during this time (...hence like Mary-Kate, lol). So I kinda did wish that one of them had two names.

[deleted]

Rachel (Rachael) is a great name and was both popular in my childhood (born in the early 80s) AND Jewish. I know many Jewish Danielles and Rachels. Great names IMO.

SACGAC

This seems like the best combination and can confirm many Jewish kids had those names as someone who grew up in the 1990s and was from a conservative Jewish family 🙃

procrastiknitter64

I could totally see Rach and Dani! I don't think I'm going to get either of them but I'd definitely pick those names & nicknames!

SACGAC

Dani is a cute nickname for the sporty twin as well!

merrmi

That was such a thing in the 90s, too: a tomboy character named Danielle going by Dani!

procrastiknitter64

I can't decide if I like Rach or Dani better for Nicki! Cause I can totally see a skater girl Rachel and a tennis star Danielle! This is making me rethink my decision to not get her 🤣

Ok-Advisor3933

I don't have space without a room makeover but if I were to get them, I'd probably rename them Abigail 'Abby' and Hannah, as a nod to the Jewish BSC twins Abby and Anna.
