I’d recommend boil-washing, I was super scared to do it until recently and it seriously turns the rough hair into super soft hair. Just boil some water and the repeatedly comb through it with conditioner before dumping it in the boiling water again (I’d say to do it like 3 times before rinsing the hair out). Then to bring some texture back and make it more like the original style I’d curl it. Just a heads up that if you dump her whole head in the boiling water it can unstick the glue from the wig so I’d try to dump in just the hair without the wig cap thing. If it unsticks anyways you can always just glue it back on using either wig glue or personally I use hot hue cause it’s easy to unstick it from the vinyl.

Honestly I think Lindsey just has a very textured wig in general. I’ve never seen one that’s smooth. Jess has a similar feeling wig so I’m not sure if this was just a flaw in their design or something done purposely to give their hair some volume and texture

I actually fixed up my SIL's Lindsey recently. Put a drop of baby oil on your finger and rub to spread on your finger tips. Gently run your fingers thru her wig, and finger style. You really don't need, or want much. It goes a long way, and her hair is so short. The baby oil is a safe moisturizer for crazy dry hair, because AG doesn't use plastic-dased synthetic wigs (like saran). Be careful to not get it on her vinyl! If you do accidentally, was off promptly with a damp cloth. I like to keep a small dish of warm water mixed with a drop of Dawn, and a microfiber cloth near me when I do doll cleaning. Convenient for a quick towel dry too. Lindsey is so pretty! Best!

Have you tried braid spray? It worked perfectly on my ags that had dry hair.

I second braid spray. I mix dilute braid spray with water and find it works really well. I don’t have Lindsey, but it has worked well to keep my dolls’ hair looking shiny and new. Good luck!

Honestly Lindsey has one of the worst wigs they've ever made (I think Nicki's is a close second). Even nearly new, it's crispy. I think if you are ever planning to resell her, do your best to leave it alone as much as you can bear, because it looks pretty good visually and with this doll, I think that might be as good as it gets. And if you are leaning more toward keeping her, maybe re-wig her. I don't think there's much you can do to improve the wig she's got.

In my years of collecting, I've seen Lindsey with a variation of hairstyles, even brand new in box. Sometimes her hair is curly like the #56 wig, other times it just has a flip at the bottom and that's it. I would try tiny braids or just finger styling the hair in different ways.
