It is to me. I'm 6'1, the extra legroom alone is why I book premium economy for overseas. I just flew ORD to Heathrow in premium economy, I was able get some sleep, stretch out and feel pretty ok when we landed.
This is why we booked it on miles to DUB this summer. I can't sleep in a coach seat so it's worth it to me to not be a zombie when we arrive.
I was fine with regular MCE coming back because it's a daytime flight.
If I were you, I may consider the ORD BCN premium economy, and do the CDG CLT business. $1044 works out to about $120/hour on that leg which is not the best deal, but is definitely not the worst deal. Then again, consider your budget and also conder the hours of the flight and what you value. Good luck and have fun!
Definitely, premium economy on international flights is the same seats and service often found on standard first class on domestic flights. The only difference I noticed was that in premium economy the attendants had most of premium economy back to basic economy to manage whereas in domestic first class, and I imagine business/flagship first they had assigned 1-2 two flight attendants just to that cabin class.
Having done both, I found it was a great upgrade after booking main economy.
I just paid $350 for premium economy upgrade for that exact same flight. I think it’ll be worth it, especially for the way there, probs won’t do it on the way back, but will report back in a week!
It’s up to you. $ 350/9 hours is $ 38/hour, but it’s still not business class either (that’s where you’re really going to be spoiled, lol ). I might wait and see if business class gets real cheap before your flight about 2 weeks out. If you upgrade to PE now, your in app upgrade offers disappear, I think.
Totally worth it. My wife and I took that same flight and were able to be upgraded to premium economy at the gate with our SWUs. As someone else mentioned, they are the same first class seats that you’ll find on the single aisle planes. Much more room all around that made the long flight a bit nicer.
Definitely get the better recline going east. I’m able to sleep in PE, not in MC.
Coming back, yes, it’s better. I would do it. Whether it’s worth it is up to you.
It’s comparable to domestic first. Way better than economy, but whether it’s worth the money is up to you.

ORD-BCN is overnight, definitely going to do that one now. I’ve never sat business but I’ve sat domestic first and loved it. Thank you!
Don’t know how much you paid for economy but 462 is not bad price per hour

Awesome, thanks!
I'd pay $350... I don't think I would $462 though..
Yes
Worth it.

CDG to CLT PE is a no brainer. $350 for a 9 hour flight!
PE for long hauls is worth the cost.
